The shop manager was very helpful, knowledgeable and extremely welcoming. I was able to purchase a spare battery and portable charger for Cannon 35mm camera. The only camera shop close by was Powell Camera so I came in and was immediately greeted with a smile and the shop "Employee of the Month." I grabbed a new battery, and bought my first roll(It was Portra 400). From there, it was all routine: shoot a roll, turn it in before 1pm on Tuesday to get it returned by the end of the week, ask what worked and what didn't get exposed correctly(which happened a lot my first year). Mark and Frankie fielded all of my questions and conversations with wisdom and grace, about the Mamiyas that cycled through the shop, about how to correctly use an off-camera flash on a film camera(though I've failed many a time), about how quickly film was coming back and how many new shooters began to pursue celluloid dreams. I'm not so close by anymore but I'll always remember what this place has given me and countless others. What Mark has left behind in Powell Camera is something that stands beyond its store walls. There's millions of memories here developed, scanned, printed, and returned all over. While I may have been just one of thousands of passing faces, Mark to me was a steward of the craft, someone so unforgettable and tied to the medium here that won't soon be forgotten. Now is no better time to support brick-and-mortar shops like this one. Shoot film, change the world, let light keep your memories tangible.

Her page was one of my favorite ones that I found with incredible shots from the courthouse, since the courthouse has old school vibes I wanted someone who would capture that. Sandra is INCREDIBLE!!!! The pictures came out gorgeous and absolutely breathtaking, I would hire her again in a heart beat. Everyone has been complimenting my pictures and how well everything looks. My husband also loved the pictures! When I first reached out to Sandra she was super quick to respond to email and text, and the day of she had great communication with me. She is sooooo patient! I had a lot of family and the courthouse and she was great working with everyone and guiding my family for pictures. You can't go wrong by hiring her for any occasion you want captured.

Sandra helped us narrow down our idea for our engagement session. We got engaged in 2020 which limited a lot of the fun couples normally get to experience. We shot with Sandra in June of 2021 and it made our experience finally feel real! She made our love come to light and brought tears to my eyes. She selected two locations for us after we told her what we had in mind and it was spectacular. She has the most creative eye and is a true artist. She is easy to communicate with and is very clear in her pricing. She is incredible. I have made sure everyone that will listen knows Sandra Flores is who they need to capture their beautiful life moments. I look forward to many more sessions with Sandra!

With Rick's 29 years of expertise and excellent eye, we quickly picked out custom framing from his numerous samples, matting (in one case for a double mat), and non-glare glass. Furthermore Rick was not satisfied with my screen shots that I printed on gloss picture quality paper. So he downloaded the images from my chats and printed his own copies, in one case photoshopping the original image which had an inadequate margin. I thought his pricing was fair and totally appropriate for the quality materials and time involved. The finished frames are beautiful. Rick has my unqualified endorsement. I had a very disappointing experience here…read more I brought in two rolls of 35mm film simply to have them developed (no scans or prints, as I have my own scanner at home). When I was told they don't offer "develop only," I said "that's a shame, no problem" and began to leave. Instead of ending the interaction there, the owner questioned why it was "a shame" and began explaining that there's "no money" in just developing film and that it's not worth it for him. He implied that I wasn't bringing enough business and suggested I should just learn to develop film myself. When I mentioned I already know how but don't have the equipment at home, he continued asking what lab I usually go to and what scanner I use, then laughed at my setup. At that point the conversation felt condescending and unnecessary. I was not upset that he doesn't offer develop-only services -- that's his right. What upset me was being made to feel like I was doing something wrong simply by requesting a service and being willing to pay for it. After the exchange escalated, he then offered to do the developing anyway, and eventually even said he would do it for free. By that point, the interaction had already become uncomfortable and argumentative, and I no longer felt confident giving him my business. A simple "we don't offer that service" would have been perfectly fine. Instead, the interaction became unprofessional and dismissive. I cannot recommend this shop based on how customers are treated. Also check out the response the owner Rick gave to my review on Google on the image attached. His response tells us far more about him as a person. 1. "We do not offer Dev. only and our website reflects that." This is deflection. My review already acknowledged that it's his right not to offer that service. That was never the core complaint. He's reframing the issue into something easier to defend -- policy -- instead of behavior. That's a classic move when someone doesn't want to address tone or conduct. 2. "Established 1998... devotion and love of photography..." That's credential shielding. When someone leans on years in business or passion as a defense, it usually means they don't want to examine how they handled a specific interaction. Longevity good customer service. 3. "The rest of your review is just a personal rant..." That's the tell. He didn't: Acknowledge my experience Apologize for any misunderstanding Say he's sorry I felt uncomfortable Clarify his intent Offer to make it right He labeled my review as emotional and dismissed it. That's ego protection. What this tells me about him * He takes criticism personally * He reacts defensively * He reframes instead of reflecting * He likely believes he did nothing wrong * He prioritizes being right over being relational Zero accountability in that response. A business owner with strong emotional intelligence would say something like: "I'm sorry the interaction came across that way. That was not my intention. While we don't offer develop-only services, I regret that the conversation felt uncomfortable." That would have neutralized everything. Instead, he escalated by calling it a rant. "because of a short, first time interaction". In business, first impressions are everything Mr. Rafik Keshishi.

The hair and makeup artist was able to follow my vague instructions and helped customized my overall look, including jewelry choices. She also stayed throughout the shoot for touch-ups, and even helped with posing. Sam's knows what angles to shoot and which lighting works. He guided us through the poses and was able to wrap up our shoot earlier than estimated even though I usually find myself very awkward in front of the camera. I also appreciated that they provide all of the digital files, including the 500+ raw ones. When I wasn't a fan of the initial editing style, Sam was very receptive to my feedback and revised the photos quickly. The reason for 4 stars is the communication. During the consultation, I was hoping for more guidance on ideas since I didn't have a clear vision. I was just shown his portfolio on his tablet and quietly scrolled in front of him. After the shoot, I had to follow up for updates on my raw and edited photos. Only after I reached out first did he respond immediately.
