I was just stopping by to pick up my annual fishing license. The man that ended up helping me was very nice and extremely helpful. However seconds before meeting that gentlemen, I politely asked another female employee if she was busy at the moment ( i only had a quick question) and she responded with, " I'M ON MY BREAK!!". I told her, "how was I supposed to know that? Reeellllaaaxxxx". I've lived next to this walmart for years and each time I give it another chance I'm always dissappointed. worst service EVER. i had to pick up something that i bought online and i waited 10 mins the first time for someone to come. Young girl with an attitude problem came later. No hello or smiles, like I'M causing HER an inconvenience. She had to call one of her managers because i had my nickname with my last name as the pick up person instead of my full legal name. I NEVER had ANY issues before. If i did, i would have changed it BEFORE i went in. The manager she called over shared the same attitude issue and customer service professionalism as she did. No hello, no smile, pretty much a "i hate my job" attitude. I even showed her my starbucks card that has the exact name on it. I told her i have email confirmations, the text message confirmation, and also the credit card that i paid for. She says the address match and so does the last name but since the first name didn't match, she cant give me my product that I've already paid for in full. Then instead of OFFERING any other way to help, the "manager" says, "You should call the 1800Walmart number" and then they both just walked away and left me at the online pick up area!! no "sorrys" or "have a good day" I went to my car and went online on my phone and logged into my account to put my legal full name as the alternative person to pick it up. i walked back into walmart and once again pressed the button to get help in the "online pickup" area. This time, 10 mins went by and no one came by. By this time, a woman and her child came by and sat on the bench. i asked her if she was picking something up and she says yes. i told her I've been waiting for 10 mins already, and she casually says that "Oh you just have to call them on your phone." ARE YOU SERIOUS WALMART?!?!? I'm INSIDE of your store and a customer have to use a phone to call for some help. So she calls and this time a guy and a girl comes 3 mins later. This guy was the same guy that i picked up another online purchase from and had NO issues with my pick up name. He proceeds to help me and i explained to him that i was already here and i put my full legal name on line so that i can get my product. As i'm doing this, the girl that came with him starts complaining to him about another EMPLOYEE!! HA!! are you serious WALMART?? what kind of kids do you have running your multi billion company?? i showed him my email confirmation this time with my updated legal name and he tells me since HIS system havent updated yet, he CANT give me my stuff......... I almost lost it there. I told him I've just spent the last 40 minutes dealing with something that is promised to be fast and easy. And all its be is frustrating and irritating and a hassle. By this time, the girl all of a sudden wanted to get professional and starts explaining that "we want to protect our customers by not giving their stuff away to the wrong ppl." After i pick up my product and spend probably another 20 mins in there waiting, i will NEVER order another thing from walmart nor will i ever shop at walmart again. WTH is wrong with the customer service line at this location. They take forever long because they handle everything in that one area(money orders,pay bills,returns,ect..) Some services take longer to carry out and that makes the line go all the way into the clothing area. Fontana has the same issue. They need to follow the Duarte location and add a separate space for the returns. Although I doubt it would change anything when the employees don't want to be there. I don't really come to this one anyway unless Chino is out of what I need/want which never happens unless it's a blue moon. read more

I've seen Wal-Marts with better layouts and much cleaner than this one. I know this one doesn't have a supermarket, however the food options are very limited. I was looking for a poboy sandwich and I couldn't even get that. The aisles are unorganized where the products aren't in order or aligned. Someone definitely needs to be cleaning and arranging often. One thing I did like was the clearance section in the men's area, for things that were opened or missing one item; deep discounts are given and prices are marked. If you're planning on doing some shopping and spending time, take the extra 10 minutes and go to the Chino location instead. You'll enjoy the Super Wal-Mart. read more

AVOID this location if you want your fabric cut.. unless you like waiting. I understand that expectations aren't set high for customer service at Walmart, but I still expect some sort of customer service should be provided. After finding 3 employees and requesting 2 overhead calls, I had to wait 1 hour before I finally got someone to come cut my fabric, I would have just cut the yardage myself but I know that would have complicated the situation. I thank the employees that tried helping me, but please if you don't think anyone will come like you promise just tell me to come back so I didn't have to waste my time standing at a cutting table. With no "Call for Assistance" button at the cutting station, I should have expected this outcome. So take my advice and avoid this Rio Rancho location for fabric, with the LACK of attention they provide for waiting customers it's like they don't even have the Fabric section anyway. At the end of the day yes, I did get my fabric (full price), but at the cost of wasted time and feelings of frustration something a customer should never experience at a retail establishment. Because would want you to waste your time waiting at Walmart? No. Your time is better spent driving to the Chino Hills location where they have a "Call for Assistance" button and a slightly more tentative staff (or Hobby Lobby/Joanns they have coupons anyway). PS. I appreciated Maria for her efforts to diffuse my frustrations, but I would recommend that Danny the store Manager install a "Call for assistance" button/figure out his employee shifts/make the area self-service OR just remove the section from the store.Either way PLEASE do something. read more

I hate to add yet another negative review to this location, but it has to be done since there is another one right down the 71 in Chino Hills on Grand. First of all, I've been visiting this location for years. I've gotten food at the McDonald's once or twice, and I have picked up countless online orders. Whenever I go to pick up an order I try to save time by skipping Winco's (an employee-owned grocery chain that has great hours, employees and pricing). I try to do my grocery shopping here, but the selection is very limited, even for frozen/dairy. Even though the selection isn't the greatest, it's doable to do some grocery shopping here. So the part that upsets me about this location is its subpar customer service, as many have pointed out. There are good staff members, which is why I didn't leave one star, which I would if this store had dirty floors, misplaced merchandise everywhere, and low stock. This location has everything you expect from a Walmart. Self check out, pharmacy, eye center, McDonald's, and garden center. So what's wrong with the customer service? It's not the employees' attitude per se. It's the fact they CANNOT offer a lot of help. When I went to pick up my online order two days after I received a ready-to-pickup e-mail, I waited 15 minutes for someone to show up presumably due to few employees able to process online orders. Three employees walked past me. Another two were doing "go-backs" at the pick up counter I'm standing at, but just told me someone else would come help me. Eventually an employee came and despite an e-mail I received two days ago telling me my order's ready for pick up, the employee told me it's not ready. He told me to call walmart.com, a separate business entity. I wanted to talk to his manager but he made it seem like there's nothing she could do. What a waste of time. And finally, the other little thing that's just always annoying is there's no shortage of seedy loiterers and questionable characters hanging outside this store. I've been asked for bus money and have had to dodge groups of teens just hanging outside with nothing to do and nowhere else to be. There's always people sleeping or hanging out at the store's outside bench area. They're not waiting for their ride. The bench is just their spot. And while there's nothing wrong most of this (except maybe being asked for bus money), combined with the unhelpful customer service and low staffing, this location should be avoided if you can drive another three miles to the Chino Hills location on Grand. read more

Although sometimes, when I ask a worker for an item's location, they sometimes answer in a not so welcoming way, rather pushy way, but I guess they could be just that busy and have no time. Walmart in itself is a God awful company BUT this place takes the award for worst store! CONGRATULATIONS on how terrible y'all are! *slow clap* I came here simply to return. Waited in line for at least a half hour because only one associate is working. When I am finally "helped" (I use this word quiet generously) I can't get a refund for one item because it has no tag. Now, I'm not arguing the rational behind this but homeboy at the door (that gives you the sticker to return) said because of the nature of the item it was ok. Maybe all the associates should get on the same page! Second item I didn't have a receipt (my fault, I understand this). The tag is intact and it says the item is $16.97 and because of my lack of receipt they want to give me $3.00. Nothing in that department rings up for under $15. I ask to speak to the manager to see if maybe we can meet in the middle but the associate instead goes to the back and speaks to to him/her privately and informs me that they said I can only be given $3 for the item. Like many Walmarts with the exception of maybe the ones in Arizona, this store has poor customer service, is a complete mess and the managers don't even seem to know what they're doing. I was standing in line for approximately five minutes when I was told that they were closing the register and that we would all have to shift over to a single register that was opened at the time. Granted, it was about an hour before closing, but that's no excuse to make a large line of people that have been waiting in line to wait even longer. So as a result, about 10 customers shifted over to one register. I don't blame the employees. I blame the managers/supervisors. Some of the workers did help me find a product without hesitation. Some days this place has long line and other days they don't. Just depends on when you go. Biggest complaint is their closing time. This is in Regards to their PHOTO CENTER I usually don't come to this location unless I need to but my grandmother has been wanting to get her photos & videos put on a DVD. I tend to make her photo/video DVDs at home to play on her DVD Player but since she had A LOT of videos & a few pictures I thought it would be faster to get it done at a Photo Center. So an Asian Male who seemed nice and helpful assisted us. I asked him right off the bat if it would be possible since I know it would be a DVD(s) containing mostly videos instead of Photos. This way my grandmother can play the photos and videos on her DVD and just watch them play. Also thinking of getting a Photo CD(s) to save all the files. He said yes but that it would be a lot of memory that I would need to get 11 Photo CDs. So I decided not to do the Photo CD and figured I'd just save her images on my laptop until I buy more CDs to store them in. So we decided to go ahead with the DVDs and he helped and it all worked out. Later in the day my grandmother told me that all 4 DVDs didn't play on her Blu-ray DVD player. So to double-check that it just wasn't her DVD player not working I tried it on mine and again didn't play. Finally, I tried on my laptop and still didn't play but I was able to see all the files. So at this point I thought maybe they accidently made it a Photo CD instead of a DVD to play the images and video. I wasn't upset because I knew it was just probably a mistake made and could be fixed. Today, I had a chance to go with my grandmother to return the DVDs that didn't work and explained the situation to the cashier about using 3 different DVD players and my laptop and it still wouldn't work. So she went to explain to her boss, which so happened to be the same man who assisted us in the beginning. He started getting defensive and saying that the DVD has the most storage & the SD used had a lot of memory. He kept trying to explain the Difference between both. He kept saying, "I don't think you understand the difference and the ins and outs of your computer!" That's when I started getting upset because now he is insulting me. "You know you can go to your pictures & put it on slide show mode on my computer." I told him I already know that and its common sense for all those who own a computer. But again my grandmother does not know how to use a computer and can only watch her images/videos in a DVD player. I also know that a DVD does carry more memory as again I have done Photo/Videos DVDs at home though Microsoft Movie Maker. As well as, know that with DVD gives you the option to make it as a DVD movie or to save as a USB version to store files. He kept cutting me off when I kept trying to explain myself and then another male employee thought he could help by also trying to explain the difference between Photo CD & DVD. This made me feel more uncomfortable and flustered because I have a random employee who had nothing to do with the situation. They both made me feel like I was stupid and as if I had no clue. When I tried to explain it to the other male he finally better understood what i was asking for but the other male didn't. The fact is the Asian male at the photo center did not understand what I was asking for and assumed. Now he is putting it on me as if it was my fault for not understanding the difference when I asked him from Day 1 if it would be possible to make a slide show DVD of mostly videos for a DVD player. Finally, because the male decides not to own up to the fact that he misunderstood me from the beginning. I gave him two options because I felt myself getting worked up and did not want to make a scene. I told him, "All I want to know is if I can get a refund or is it possible to make the 4 non working DVDs to actually work and play on my DVD player?" He said Yes on the refund and that if I actually wanted to make them a slideshow DVD that it would be more DVDs & cost a lot more." So basically, I could have gotten my DVDs to play on my Blu-rey from the beginning but because the man assumed I just wanted to store them in a DVD player and not play as a slide show DVD. When that was all my grandmother and I wanted. So all in all, I wasn't being assisted correctly, was insulted and blamed for not understanding the difference when I did know the difference and left with a refund and having to go to CVS instead to assist me. Black Friday Nightmare. I arrived at 6 for the 8 o'clock sale. They decided to allow everyone from the 6 o'clock sale to stay inside and wait for the 8 o'clock items. It is now 9 o'clock and the line hasn't moved an inch. The 1 hour guaranteed items are all gone according to worker here. Next year I'm headed to target.
