For as much as people complain about Walmart......the store is always crowded. I think they have quite the variety of just about anything you need for your home. Their prices are more than fair and the aisles are (usually) well stocked no matter what time of day/night you visit. read more

I have been shopping at Riverhead Walmart. It used to be awful but in the last year it has gotten much much better.There are many more cashiers and all very helpful and nice. The shelves are stocked and neat. It's like a different store. Great turn around. read more

I bought a $500 printer that was delivered today while I was home. It was delivered by Walmart and the "professionals" who delivered it not only didn't bother to ring my doorbell but they left it on the walk in front of my house. It's too heavy for me to lift so tomorrow I'm going to ask two guys - it says right on the box that it has to be lifted by two people - who are going to be working on my house to lift it into my car and I'm going to return it - only on principle - and them I'm going to buy it from another company that's more ethical. I'll never entertain buying anything from a Walmart again. Not only is the delivery service ridiculous but if you call customer service you have to dial 1 if you're under 50 and 2 if you're over 50 and no matter what you dial you're going to get a time-wasting marketing message. I was finally able to get a number by going through chat because if you follow it through it will finally take you to an option to talk to someone who comes on quickly and helps you with your problem - if he can. My agent could only send me a label but he assured me that someone would be able to get the printer out of my car so that's what I'm counting on. read more

Not a fan of Walmart stores, but they did have a convenient garden center, with separate entrance. Better than the rest of the store. But its been closed off and not accessible unless you go to the other end to their main entrance, walk all the way back, and then back again to the crowded front registers. Who is going to do that for bulky garden purchase items? Recommend going to Lowes or Home Depot who keep the Garden Center separate with entrance open, and registers. Too crowded to safely shop with all shoppers corralled into one bunch of close together lines without enough cashiers for the masses that pour in. No spacing markers for safety. No garden center registers open, which could have offset some of the human herding of hundreds into one area. Covid safety fail. read more

Tried this place again after 3 weeks in a row of them not fixing something and this time I went to return bottles and full. Ok no big deal. Spent an hour shopping and other stuff and every time is just "I called him" whatever that means. Only thing good about this place is the curbside service. If you look for things to be stocked, working or fast take the drive to yaphank or middle island. Definitely worth the trip read more

BED BUGS on clothes at Riverhead store today!!! Went to customer servicce and she took them off the shirt with a paper towel and threw them away! Found assistant manager, told her everything and showed her where I found the shirt with the bugs. Now I can't find out what they did or are doing about it and how they are informing their customers! read more

I went to the Riverhead Walmart on March 13, 2021 and purchased a computer monitor. It was damaged right out of the box, and Walmart refused to take it back or refund my money. In the meantime, I had to go buy another monitor elsewhere as I need this for work-related purposes. Obviously there will be follow up. I've bought plenty of computer monitors and accessories from Walmart in the past. But since the do not accept returns on damaged items that they sell, that is the end of purchasing items like this for me. If they are going to sell products "Caveat Emptor", like a pawn shop, then this information needs to be told to the customer up front. Poor product, poor policies, and very poor customer service. I am giving a one-star review only because there is no option for no stars. read more

Online Buyers Beware!!! Walmart delivery uses a company called Spark and their driver Rochelle is as incompetent as the day is long. I placed an order for delivery and I received a text that my package was being delivered along with a live map of the drivers car and for 10 minutes I watch the delivery person go around in circles not finding my home, then she pulled over and I received an alert on the Walmart app that there was an attempted delivery and my package is being returned to the store. I called customer service and told them about the botched delivery and that the driver didn't know what she was doing. CS said they would send a different person to deliver the package and I would receive it by 9pm that nIght, well the time came and went and No Delivery! I called the following day to complain and got the run around so I cancelled the order and will never buy from Walmart again. read more

Been to a few Walmarts, and figured it was near Tanger. We left Tanger to make a quick Walmart stop to look for a few school supplies. Walked around for a bit, got more than we thought, but that's normal. Issue was at checkout. Saturday late afternoon. 4 checkout lanes open and more lines of people waiting. Not once did anyone page for registers to open, or anyone advise on the floor, or more openings. Waited on line for almost 30 minutes, only to have a group of 5 in front of us. The group in front of us managed to break their cart into several separate purchases. Crazy that that's still allowed. The other locations we've been to, never have lines waiting that long. They keep their lines moving so as to not have a wait. 30 minutes on line, it's warm in there, and have 2 kids that are hungry. Plus, we had to drive back to Western Nassau County. I should have just kept driving West and gone to the Target in Commack. Will avoid that location for now. read more

One of the faster Walmart's to check out at using the self serve kiosks. Got a bunch of toys on Black Friday. Cheapest prices we found on the hot toys of the season. The dancing MICKEY Mouse toy we bought for $39 comparable to $60 at other retail stores. The MICKEY mouse bike we bought for $19 which was the only retail store we found where we could physically pick it up. Black Friday shopping was surprisingly easy and fast to check out at this store compared to others we went to over the last few years. read more

I am not a happy big box store shopper under the best circumstances but WMT has some product selections I like not available anywhere around here and priced better than AMZN. Even if priced the same, I have become disenchanted with shipping waste, all the cardboard for small items, so I was very pleased to see I could order and prepay for pickup and all the items showed as In Stock. I told my wife, who was running errands in Riverhead, to expect a text message anytime and to pick up at her convenience. I do this all the time with Home Depot, so nothing so new or exotic. The difference however is that whereas HD stores fulfill their online orders in a reasonable timeframe, I am still waiting 26 hours later and there has been no explanation why it is not ready... the only communication was an email late in the evening: "Please don't head to the store yet -- we'll email you again when your order is ready for pickup". Now I am on hold with the store for 30 minutes and counting as I write this after having had an online chat session with a "Customer Care" agent who could only come up with the suggestion to call the store. Sorry, but neither this store nor the Walmart Corporation is really ready for the digital age. It seemed like a good idea to marry the online and the brick & mortar footprint, but it takes more than a good idea to execute like an Amazon does. Good luck, Walmart... you need a lot of luck and a lot more. 35 minutes and counting on hold. read more

Riverhead, NY Walmart Order# 57971786725681 I was called a Loser by Liz because she was frustrated that didn't know how to process pick up orders correctly. She also thought I didn't hear her and I let her know exactly what I heard. Also left my pre paid items in the cart for almost 20 minutes. Wouldn't even bag my items. Maganger- Sherry is a horrible Manager, when called upon, she would not make eye contact with me when I was trying to tell her my problem. She also went on to help other customers. She also hid my bottle redemption tickets so the other employees couldn't find them. Manager- Eboni was completely rude, came over and wouldn't even speak to me. Didn't address my issues, items remained in cart unbagged. Lacks customer service. Why is she even a Manager? Spanish speaking Manager- She did help diffuse the situation and honored my coupons. Liz- Would not stop talking to other customers and calling me names like I was deaf and couldn't hear her. Then became angry and lost her cool when I went to her register and told her that I heard her. Manager John- Asked me to leave the store and denied that Liz called me a Loser. I have a video of him denying it. All this happened because no one except Magrgret had any decency to bag my items. And didn't even complete my prepaid order of close to $100. Practically the whole counter staff kept helping other customers and ignored me even though my items were already paid for. The pick up service is supposed to be a convenience. It hasn't been a pleasant experience. Horrible service! I will keep using the pick up service but this situation needs to be resolved! I work too hard and too many hours a week to be arguing with Walmart staff because they don't want to do their jobs! They will get it together and I will use the service or the complaints will continue. read more

So annoyed. Currently waiting on a line with 9 people ahead of me. I made a purchase and after the transaction was processed, I saw that the cashier had charged me for 4 items that I only had 3 of. She told me she couldn't do a refund and said I had to go to customer service for the correction. So after waiting 15 minutes on line to check out, now I have 9 people ahead of me doing returns while I wait my turn. I asked to be moved up and assisted immediately, and I was told there was nothing they could do, and if I wanted my money back, I had to wait on line. What BS! So I am currently making use of my time with this 1-star review. Definitely not good customer service, especially when their employee made the error, not me. read more

I am well aware 99% of you won't care because these are "just fish," however Walmart Riverhead is currently selling beta fish (among other fish in tanks) that have been dying/starving/rotting on the shelves. We found 17 DEAD AND DECAYING fish in DIRTY WATER still on the shelves to be sold to customers. We informed a Walmart associate who was not concerned, as well as the manager who once again didn't show any interest or concern in the fact that they currently have 17 dead fish on shelves. Probably the WORST Walmart I have been to. The shelves are poorly stocked (almost ALL the Walmart brand soda cans were gone, bread was smashed, etc). Many of the workers are nice enough, but don't know where things are in the store. Very disorganized. To add insult to injury, the man at the door asked for our receipt as we left but not other people with bigger carts full. We had difficulty finding it, and he told us we would not be able to leave the store with our purchases unless we could get a second one from the cashier....all while people were freely leaving the store without even being asked for their receipt. Now, if he had ACTUALLY CHECKED THE RECEIPT WHEN WE EVENTUALLY DID FIND IT I may not have been so annoyed, but he just took it and wrote on it. Did not look in the bags once. OK, so I've been to a lot of Walmarts- they're all over the place. As for this one, the best part is the selection of food. Hands (or paws) down, it's the best selection of any Walmart. Store is clean, possibly because it's only a year or so old. Now for the rest- cashiers still don't understand how to work that bagging carousel. They are supposed to spin it 180 degress after loading a bag, not just 2 degrees and start filling the next bag. Don't they get it that a customer can pick up the bag that was just filled if the cashier spins it 180 degrees to have the bag land right in front of you? Walmart University needs to make Bagging 101 a mandatory course. Sylvester knows best! read more

Worse Walmart I've seen - and I've seen a lot. Store is dirty and stock is thrown on the shelves. Stock location makes no sense - "excuse me, where is the peanut butter." "It's by the ice cream." ?? Prices were mismarked on 2 of my purchases and when I brought it up the cashier argued with me (convincing me to make this yelp notice). There is never enough cashiers and nearly always a line of 8 or more behind the 1 to 3 cashiers they have. Even the self serve has a line because the self-serve registers aren't open. I hope Walmart hires an adult to manage this store, but in the mean time I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. The guy at the self checkout started taking bleach out of my cart stating it is store policy to be able to only buy one. There is no sign in that area stating only one per customer. This guy was a true pos. If this is the case you should have a sign. Never shopping here again. read more

Rarely do I go into the Riverhead store where where my 30 item list isn't 100% filled. Walmart gives you name brands at the right price the first time. What happen to the day when the customer was always right? You call the manager for assistance and they come to you and embarrass you in front of everyone. Is there no one to help you anymore?? This has to be the worse Walmart there is. The manager can't admit that their computer system was making a mistake and to be quite honest couldn't even figure out what the mistake was. Who in the hell do they even hire to be mangers these days??? Don't over inflate your importance - the consumer matters more. And treating every person with respect is important. An above average Walmart in my eyes, it's always clean, well stocked, and has a nice garden area during the summer. I bought quite a few plants here, and they all did very well. They also seem to carry more diverse items than other Walmart's in the area. I will continue to go out of my way to come to this one. read more
