I use the CVS in Rocky Pt., NY. My insurance requires me to use CVS or I would not be a customer. If you call to speak to the pharmacist, it takes 2 minutes listening to all of their options and information before the recording switches you over to the pharmacy phone. Then there is a wait of approximately 10 minutes. There is always a long wait to pick up meds, whether you go to the car pick up or go inside. Additionally, when a Rx is written and it is too early to fill it, the pharmacist never has it ready on the date that it is supposed to be picked up (or even a few days later.) You have to Call Them and ask them to fill it so that you can pick it up! My mother and I had to switch our Rxs to another CVS (Wading River) as the Rocky Point pharmacy closed for a short period of time. When the Rocky Point store reopened and we had switched our Rxs back, they were unable to fill one of my mother's Rx there. They said they could not get that dosage (BP medication) and that I would have to continue to pick it up at the other CVS (Wading River). I asked why they could not order the dosage my Mom needed in Rocky Point and the pharmacist said they tried to order it but couldn't get it! (???) I asked how one CVS can get the med in that dosage but not the other CVS? The pharmacist said she didn't know why. So I have to drive 5 miles to another CVS for one medication. I could go on, but that gives you an idea of the (lack of) customer service. read more

CVS pharmacies in the local RIVERHEAD NY area do not train their pharmacy staff even in the basics of listening to customers. About a month ago I went to pick up a prescription as I have done many times in the past, only to have a pharmacy staff member tell me my Medicare B wasn't active and I couldn't get prescriptions. She told me I needed another card, even though she didn't bother to actually run or check the card. She sent me home, and I persisted and verified the card. I returned to the same pharmacist staff person, who finally deigned to actually use my card and sure enough it paid for the prescription two hours after the initial visit to the pharmacy for anti-anxiety medication for a senior!!! Staffer didn't even apologize. Rude young people in need of training and respect. We are ditching everything CVS and going elsewhere read more

I figured switching to CVS instead of the new, bigger, further-down-58 Walmart would be more convenient--boy, was I wrong!! The pharmacy here in completely incompetent. When you walk inside or go through the drive-thru, you'll see why--a bunch of KIDS running around asking their superiors constant questions about what to do. I "kid" you not, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I go here, there's an issue--with the price of medication, the amount (1 month vs 3 month supply,) timeliness and accuracy mostly--all pretty damn important. I get about 8 meds here, but last week was the last straw! I dropped off a script in the drive-thru and though I got there first, the woman decided to speak to the person at the window before me. Now, I figured I was just dropping off, so I didn't need her. Apparently, the doctor didn't write my birth date, so they didn't process it for 3-4 DAYS. They could have looked up my info or called me with the info that WAS on the script, but of course, they didn't. I got there and each medication (4) could not be picked up due to inaccuracies. Just returned from the pharmacy and I was very put off by the people behind the counter. One woman working who was wearing a head scarf had her nose fully exposed for at least 15 minutes before I approached. When the customers include high risk patients coming in to fill prescriptions & you work in the medical field you should be way more responsible than that. I politely mentioned this to the guy at the pharmacy register and he waved it off saying "ah, we can't wear masks all day long!" Yet, it's CVS's policy that their employees wear masks. At this CVS along 58 (at the front of the Best Yet/TJ Maxx lot), there's an endless line. I imagine they compete with Staples & Walgreens in some areas, but there's no showing it here. Service is quick and friendly. read more

Such a bad and irritating experience which has become the norm in this location. The RX lines are always long as is the wait to pick up. Yesterday there were seven people working in the RX and one person working the register. I was third in line of 9 customers and after standing there for 15 minutes I politely asked the dark haired man filling scripts if another register could be opened to move the wait along- he looked at me and said "you'll have to be patient". I told him I don't come here to learn patience-I come expecting to be waited on in a reasonable time period. While this is going on there is a girl taking the filled scripts and putting them in the cubby corresponding letter of the alphabet. I've been in the store when this girl is ringing the register-so I know she knows how. If your in the customer service business waiting on the customers (who by the way-pay their salaries) is more important than filling shelves. On my way out i stopped at the front counter and asked the man behind the counter if I could speak to the store manger.He began to make a bad situation worse. Manager got fired, It was between him and another guy to get the spot-CVS would decide next week- and that was that. I will be transferring my scripts to the Manorville store. I'm sure you're wondering why I just don't go to a different RX- My script coverage is through CVS Caremark and they will only cover maintenance med's if filled in one of their locations. I'm hoping to have a better experience in Manorville. read more
