Even for a Walmart, this store is horrendous. Literally every shopping cart I have had here has had a wonky wheel that loudly bangs as you try to maneuver through the piles of merchandise that clog up the already narrow aisles. Like all Walmarts now, various items are just completely out of stock at times. The staff is rude and is always blocking aisles with their large pallet carts. The pharmacy was randomly shut down during regular business hours one day. The store is always busy, but I have never seen more than four or five checkstands open. Apparently this store is relatively new, but the interior looks like it hasn't been remodeled in 20 years. The parking lot is a total nightmare to get in and out of. The only thing that keeps me going here is the fact that the local Target is even worse. read more

Before this new Walmart opened we didn't have one close by so I almost never shopped at Walmart. When one opened up I was excited, yet it quickly turned into disappointment by one rude and passive clerk. This was in the electronics department, there were several of them but they engaged in their own chatting and ignored me. When one finally turned to me we had the following conversation: Since what I was looking for was not available in this store I asked if it's available in other stores: clerk: "which store?" I: "The next closest store" (isn't it obvious?), clerk: "which store?" she needed a specific address. I had to scratch my head to think of the next location. It's not available there either. I: "Can you check another store?" clerk: "Which store?" thus it repeated. Every time the clerk made a phone call to the other store and stayed on it for a long time, then turned around and said "no". I almost felt she took delight in telling me "no". Are we in the 21st century America? In every other store be it Home Depot, Lowes, etc in a similar situation the clerks would check the inventory of other stores on the COMPUTER and tell you at a glance which stores have how many and so forth without asking. I thought Walmart does good business, they couldn't even afford a computer to check the inventory? I haven't had a similar shopping experience since years ago in a communist country! Her name tag showed her name is Crystal. I don't know if she is a typical Walmart employee or a special case, I wish it's the latter. Don't even try to call to get info because departments don't answer their phone or they have someone working there named "Sandra" who doesn't know anything at all about the department she is covering... Wtf is she covering that department if she don't know jack sh*t?!?!??? Also, the freaking operator don't know how to freaking transfer calls!!!! Wtf does it take you 6 tries to transfer me?!?!?! This review isn't about the store itself but rather the staff who work in the photo department. I have sent photos to them twice before and both times I was not overly happy with the end product. The most recent visit was by far the worst, all the pictures had mistakes on them from messed up coloration to ink splotches. It was clear that they had not checked the pictures before putting them in the envelope or didn't care. When I asked the guy working the counter to reprint them he was very helpful, even asking me to come behind the counter and show him the adjustments I would like to be made to a specific picture. As I was explaining it to him, his manager (I didn't know it at the time) comes up behind me and says in a very forceful and rude tone "Ma'am, you can't be back here." I responded that the man helping me had asked me to step behind the counter. She then turns to him and says "He knows better than that, you know better than that." By this point I'm just ready to leave. But instead I go back and continue waiting for pictures to be reprinted. She then tells the guy loud enough for all the customers nearby to hear that if he and the other guy who works behind the counter doesn't pick up their pace and do the stuff she gives them in a timely manner then they will start getting cuts. After she goes to help a customer the guy comes back and apologizes for his boss. Which I appreciated but did not think was appropriate. He goes back to finish my prints and then his manager yells at him from where she is helping a customer "You don't need to stand there waiting for the prints to finish! You can work on something else will your waiting!" He explains that I already prepaid for them so he is working to get them for me ASAP. She continues to give him a hard time before finally letting him continue. After bringing me the finished pictures (which he made adjustments to that I didn't ask for) he informs me that the place he worked at previously he never had to worry about his manager acting this way and that he would be leaving to work somewhere else soon. Again I didn't think that was appropriate to tell a customer and was very ready to leave. As far as the pictures, I am going to have to reprint them elsewhere, because I need them to go with a resume and they just don't cut it. Long waiting for online pickup, even though there were only 4 people in line. The person who did the online order pick up is the return service manager, who also doing all other returning issue with other associates. This store needs a designated person for online pickup only. A person who was behind me left and purchased his item from the store and left before I got to talk to anyone. read more

Came in for toilet paper. Ended up leaving our car overnight as it was taking 3 hours to leave the parking lot a d took uber home. Shm city of san jose needed to send out traffic control as the light was not truggered to handle holiday traffic at all. Shame on san jose pd as always. read more

This has to be the worst parking lot in the world. It took me 28 minutes to get out of the lot. It's defiantly not worth shopping at Walmart if I have to wait that long to get out of the parking lot. Do not order for pick up from this store. Came in on 12/2 @ 1:05pm, to wait in the slowest & worst customer service line I have ever experienced. Customer service was very poor on first day. We went into a 20 item line without realizing the limit. We had a few over. The cashier admonished us and told us she could only ring in 20 items. She continued to reprints us in an "I'll teach u" tone for about 10 minutes. There was no one behind us. We already had everything out of our buggy. We asked for supervisor who tisk'ed at us and gave us a dirty look and agreed with cashier. She won the arguement. We thanked them for a wonderful experience on the fist day. I guess I will continue to go to target and Costco right nearby since their custer service was so bad. read more

This is the worse WALMART in SAN JOSE, traffic is horrible. My husband and I went Sunday, December 16, 2012 and getting out of the parking lot took 40 minutes to get out and we were only in the store for 20 minutes. TRASH littered the parking lot. Clothing was tossed everywhere. The help, wasn't help, but "go down that aisle and took on your left if we have them". Cons: -Getting out of the parking lot is a beast! -Aisles are small and as always people don't know how to move their carts aside to make room for others so they clog up quickly. -If you are going for things like bathroom items, kitchen utensils, computer and television, etc. then you most likely won't find a big selection of choices. Pros: -Cheap grocery type stuff that you hopefully won't hear recalls in the future for. -Lots of parking and the bathrooms are nice. Not spotless clean, but just nice and quite a change from their other stores. I wouldn't buy food there and wouldn't eat it if you gave it to me for free. First things first, you do not want to come here on a Sunday. I came here without knowing that, and because of the design of the parking lot there is only one lane to get out. On Sundays, all the lanes in the parking lot are full. There is a stoplight at the exit so you have to wait, therefore, creating a huge traffic mess. I drove in and realized my mistake and there were many empty parking spaces but you cannot get to them because of all the cars blocking them trying to get out. So it took me almost an hour to get out of the parking lot, not even going into the store. Really bad layout, and of course no one is going to fix it. I shopped here often when it was still new, but as the years go on it's going downhill. This is probably the worst Wal-Mart to go to. It is smaller than other Wal-Mart's and most of the items you need are probably out of stock. There isn't a huge variety as it's a small store. In other Wal-Mart's there are aisles and aisles of variety, you could get everything you wanted from there. Recently they added glass cages and because of the service here, good luck if you need make up remover or a certain lipstick because it's going to take forever to find someone to get it for you. For example of how small it is, their magazine and book section is only 1/4 of what it is in other Wal-Mart's. It shouldn't be called a supercenter, it's almost like a neighborhood market. I don't understand why we only have one small Wal-Mart in this area. Now onto the main reason I started this review, I went in today just to do some grocery shopping. My cart was full, and I was nearing the end of my trip and I went into the next aisle without my cart to go get something since there was a lot of people there and I didn't want to deal with the traffic. I come back just a minute later, and my cart is gone!! I looked all over the store which probably took a few minutes and finally found my cart since I remembered I only had one item at the bottom of it. Turns out, I realized there are a BUNCH of new employees today. And they all were putting my stuff back onto shelves. The lady said she thought she was supposed to take them back, um what?? Do I now have to put a sign on my cart saying that I'm a customer using it and to not take it away? So now I had to do my shopping over AGAIN, trying to remember what I had. Leaving the store, I realized I forgot a few items they put back, ugh!! When it's busy, the checkout line is long and so are the other ones. I generously give one star for this Walmart to that person who got us checked out at the jewelry cashier when the lines were super long and we were buying one item. Never waited so long to pick up an item I purchased online. When got to the store there was a long line for customer service with 2 people working. At the pickup desk there wasn't anyone working so I got into the customer service line after asking an employee where do I go for pickups then after 15 mins (line hasn't moved) and a lady walks up to the line to see what everyone was there for and when I told her pickup she sent me to the desk with no one there (mind you it had been 15 mins and I didn't see anyone attempt to work at that desk) then they said they would get someone and they got some one making my wait a total of 30 mins to talk to anyone to get my order than the lady seemed mad she had to work.....usually at the other Walmart sites it only takes like 10 mins to get something. read more

I bought 4 boxes of baking soda and a bottle of vinegar. Who knew baking soda was the key to a clean oven?! I think I spent less than $5 on everything. I really liked how many free standing self service checkouts there were. The place was already completely destroyed (ex: nail polish tested on the marketing racks, cosmetics all open, items in the wrong place) but whatever, it kept me from being focused on what I needed. I forgot that I was in San Jose, had to carry all my items back to the car in my hands. Getting in and out is a bit of a pain because there's only one entrance/exit but parking is plentiful. Walmart is Walmart. So my review will be based on this specific location. Store is relatively clean consistently, which is a hard feat for a large retail location so kudos to the team. Items are generally well stocked, so I always find what I come looking for--though sometimes I grab the last one left. Cashiers are .. doing their best. I think. Most of the cashiers get the job done, but they obviously look unmotivated--must be monotonous at such a high transaction volume place. You honestly cannot blame the cashiers for not enthusiastically greeting you and complimenting your hair and remembering your child's baseball game was last Friday. Have you seen how many people flow through this store, and how many items get scanned per minute? Used the online pick-up service twice. Both times were rough, because that counter is highly understaffed. These two ladies handle everything from returns to pick ups to customer complains to selling postage stamps to whatever. Unfortunate that they do not have more support team members or at least a better division of tasks. You can tell--there is always a slow, long line right where you walk in. PARKING is HORRENDOUS. Well, correction--TRAFFIC OUT is HORRENDOUS. Plenty of parking space, but the logistics team really screwed up with this location. On a good day, it takes 3 lights to get out. Holidays, you're gonna be sitting pretty while other impatient drivers try every tactic in the book to try to cut you off and get outta there. When coming and exiting this particular location, I urge you to come with a peaceful mind and calm driving--it will eat up a lot of patience trying to get in and out. Other than that, you get what you pay for--if you wanna save a few extra cents (which add up!) suffer through a bit of traffic and you'll get it. read more

Ordered a TV online to have shipped to this store. After back and forth with the store and Fex ex, two days later my TV never made it to the store. Even after manager had stated it was there, and Fed-ex stated someone named, Joe signed for it. It is the holiday season, but i really think both or one lost my TV or it was stolen/taken by an employee. Stood in store for over one hour while everyone looked within and outside store. Very stressful! All in all two weeks and two days of stress trying to figure out where my TV was, i will never order a large item or anything over $100.00 WM's website again. Several associates were very helpful, and worked with me, instead of talking down to me or acting like i was lying. At the end, they gave me a TV they had in stock with the same specs, that was $100.00 more expensive for the same price. Word to wise if there is a problem within WM and you talk to a manager, get their name, evidentially WM has several managers and supervisors working at any given time. This store is smaller than Story and Morgan Hill, and the one way in and out is a pain. Overall with a TON of patience and doing my homework before getting to store, i appreciated the time and attention of everyone that helped. And i will be writing an email to WM with their names and where they were working. Also as a note recently asked 5 workers where the 'alcohol" was, and all of them told me the pharmacy. Clearly rubbing alcohol and liquor are two different items. Would help if WM trained their pp in all depts, to know where the universal or most sought out items are located. read more

I came here on Sunday, the car park is always full. I was able to find what I came in for. It's nice that it has self check out which I appreciate so I don't have to stand in line forever. They have shopping carts inside the store, which makes it easier to grab a cart and do your shopping. There prices are on the low side so you don't have to bargain hunt much here. Forgive a moment while I calm down. Not many things bother me, but this walmart mustve caught me on a bad day and I have grown to hate them more and more as a company. I came here to purchase groceries early this morning, finished selecting everything and went to the register. The girl rang out my order and I went to swipe. The card showed that it wasnt reading. After a few more tries, they stated that their systems were down. So I walk over to the atm machine and try it and it doesnt read either. So I decided that my card must have gotten de magnetized at some point. I ask if the number can be punched in and I get ignored...thats fine. I ask if I can head over to the bank which is literally across the street and they say yes and will hold my groceries for me. I call Wal-Mart once I have ordered a new card to check to make sure my items are gonna be okay still and the girl promptly tells me that the manager had everything put back because of inventory. Now at this point I don't have time to go back and pick out everything I needed again because I have to head to work with no lunch or dinner prepared. It may sound trivial but trying to deal with multiple things simultaneously, on a ridiculous non stop two week work schedule and with their lack of empathy and courtesy, I was frustrated. And I really will do everything in my power not to shop there again. read more

I came here with a list of things to get from my elder and I brought my baby(3months old) He became fussy 3 mins into entering. I was trying to rush, asked employees in the department of interest for help finding things..... One employee didnt understand what a taco seasoning packet was(Barely spoke English) The second empolyee pointed up in the air and said" That way somewhere". I found the packet on my own. Next I was looking for another item. I was in an Isle where it was supposed to be. The woman CLEARLY worked in that department, she was restocking and said" I dont know where it is" She didnt even try to look, let alone look at me while i was talking to her. So I went for a manager. I found a guy restocking in an Isle of NO INTEREST and asked for a manager. He said " Ill find a manager, but is there anything I CAN help you with UNTILtge manager comes??"I had a cranky baby with no patience... So I accepted( In my mind Im thinking it'll be a waste of time) CHRIS FOUND EVERYTHING ON THE LIST, EVEN THOUGH I JUST NEEDED HELP WITH 1 ITEM. That was EXCELLENT customer service! He went above despite my minor attitude, fussy baby, and the store being packed. I am so grateful for people like Chris cause man I was PISSED! read more

We have been loyal customers to this store for years but lately shelves have not been stocked. Things we always used to get there are out of stock. These new cases to lock up make up and baby formula are ridiculous. You can never find anyone with a key and it always takes forever to get help. When there are long lines waiting to check out they close registers. We were actually told to get out of line because the cashier was closed. This was after we had been standing in the line for 10 minutes. The other thing I find annoying is being treated like a thief as I am leaving the store, I do not and have never stolen anything yet they have an employee checking your receipt with a fine tooth comb. I would give no star if possible. I had ordered a DVD to pick up at this store on 12/12, which was supposed to be available to pick up on 12/19. On 12/17, I got email saying the order was canceled because it was no longer available at the store. I emailed them and asked them if they could send it to me if they have it at any other store or online (warehouse), which they responded "We can't send it since we are not sure if we have it online, you can maybe check other states". I hate the Customer Service at this particular Walmart! Last month they messed up on my Daughters Birthday Cake (made a totally different cake). Ofcourse I didn't pick it up and obviously didn't pay for it. I'm glad I checked the day before. So I had to go looking around for a bakery that would make Me a cake last minute!! Despite this bad ecperience I decided to give them another try. I went today to attempt to order another cake and I asked several employees to see if they can call someone to the bakery department. I waited for 30 minutes (28 to be exact)!! So again frustrated I left. I called the store and asked to speak to a Supervisor and guess what? I was placed on hold for more than 8 minutes until I decided to give up!!! I'm a bit disapointed because their cakes are actually pretty good!! read more

TOOK CUSTOMER MONEY BUT NOT GIVING OUT THE ITEMS. STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION IF YOU HAVE ONLINE ORDER PICK UP!!! My story: ordered four items. Two of them will be "ready by today" and two of them will be ready in 5 days. The two items that will be "ready by today" were ready 7 days later. The two items that will be ready in 5 days only have one ready but 10 days past. For the remaining one item, it is still not ready after 20 days. I called Walmart.com and the store more than 20 times and the total wasted time is over 8 hours. But when I drop by to the store, the lady in the pick up area told me that their system says it is shipped and it means it is not received by them. she need to have the item to return it. I insist to settle it down today so she called Walmart.com and finally refunded it for me but with words: "I will do this for you this time but next time I have to have this item to return it". This means if Walmart store can not find the item, they will hold up my money forever without returning it. It is equivalent to stealing money from customer but not giving customer the item that they paid. Never go to that store again. read more

Very rude employees. They tell the customers not to make a mess or not to move things or drop things on the floor. I've complained to the management but they don't care. Very unprofessional. Limited selection of merchandise as it's a smaller store. The parking lot is full of homeless with their RVs, beat up cars, bikes & furniture & belongings. You get harassed going in & out of the store & looks very unsafe & low class. read more
