I stop in on my lunch break, or before I get to work in the mornings, and regardless of the time of day, there are ALWAYS a ton of people here, making the lines long. However, they have a great staff, because I seem to get through the check out line quicker and quicker each time. Good store. read more

Walmart is the greatest store for the middle class, lower class, and yes even the upper class in Austin. They always have great affordable deals for the consumer. I can't count the many times they have saved me with a good deal. With that being said the only reason they did not get all five stars from me is because of their credit card company. Their interest is so high its taken me over 5 years to pay off their card (they add $100 a month interest to the card making it very difficult to pay off). I can understand increasing rates if you are ever late for a card payment, however that is not the case with me. I have always paid AHEAD of schedule, but they just increased the rate because they felt like it. STAY AWAY FROM WALMART CREDIT CARD. read more

I will never shop at another Walmart. I'll pay a little more at Target to get treated like an actual customer. I hate that now Walmart requires you to show your receipt upon leaving the store. Not only do you have to deal with employees that don't know where anything is, bad attitudes, and long check out lines, you now have to wait in a line for these rent a cops to check your bag and receipt. This store is so ghetto and dirty, I can't believe it's still opened. My daughter went to get a tire replace, she got there at 9:30am and is very patient she was told at 2:45pm her car was ready but in actually on the receipt it states car had been ready for a while. I called the supervisor pissed as hell and he acted like he didn't know what was going on, then I'm told the girl on the morning shift was so ready to go that she forgot to tell my daughter the car was ready and my daughter missed a whole day of work because of this stupid ass freaking people, they need to remburse her for loosing a whole day of work idiots! read more

I gave them multiple chances, but despite being close to my house, I can no longer shop at this Walmart. It's just too annoying. The electronics dept is mystery to me, so many products, even some of the under $10.00 DVDs, are locked up (despite the presence of hundreds of security cameras in the store and and every product being armed with security devices). Last time I was in, there was only one single blu-ray player on the shelves, they were completely out of stock of dvd and blu-ray players. Also, they have a $5 dvd bin, but they don't have a 7.88 blu-ray bin like some other locations. No sale. The tipping point for me was the noise pollution in this store. I don't understand how the employees or the customers can tolerate the constant beeping and droning. I even asked cashiers and managers about it on more than one occasion. The manager explained that it was the handicapped motorized carts beeping once they had recharged (you can usually hear about 3 or 4 of them beeping over and over...forever), but on top of that there are other "backing up beepers", alarms going off and completely distorted and unprofessional announcements over the PA system. It's just too much for me...it had become and endurance test every visit, and definitely not conducive to shopping. I told the manager that I had only noticed the problem at his location and not at any other locations, so maybe he could call another store to find a solution. Nothing ever changed, except me. And yeah, their meat dept is scary and expensive as well, no ground turkey, no turkey sausage, no turkey hot dogs. Waaahhhh. One saving grace- they have a nice price on Guinness Draught 8 packs. I realize that I shouldn't be shopping at Walmart anyway, but if I have to go, I go to a different one. read more

I typically always used Walmart to get my oil changed because of their strict policies around not screwing up cars (they don't have the insurance to "fix" it). However, after god knows how many oil changes over the past 10 years, an employee had gone into our center console and stolen my wife's iPod. They then proceeded to "watch video" for 2.5 hours as opposed to asking the employees who was in the car and who took it. This time also allowed everyone that was working in the bay, to leave the bay and potentially the building. After about a 3 hour event, the TLE manager walked up to my wife and said simply, "we didn't see anything on the tapes" and then walked off. Didn't even apologize for the wait, or the event. I had my wife return everything in her cart (that she had already purchased) and we will no longer be shopping at this corporation. read more

Holy crap! It's like stepping into the DMZ at this place! I pull into parking spot only to witness some guy sitting in his car snorting something. Walking thru the trash I finally get in only to be assaulted by multiple screaming kids. The aisles aren't wide enough because it's an effing family reunion and you gotta turn the hell around cuz people look at you like you have a problem cuz you want to try to maneuver around 15 people because I'm actually trying to shop. Then there's the homeless convention going on towards the end of the parking lot. Several cars with people just sitting in them, with their meth zombie stares apparently waiting to score. I showed up this morning to buy some produce. There was no rolls of clear bags to take the produce I was trying to buy. No employees around. All the produce bag rollers were empty. I went to the cashier to ask for a manager to meet me at the produce department. I'm wearing a sweat shirt, jeans and tennis shoes. I'm Hispanic. The cashier looks at me and in front of the other customers scans me up and down and asks me: "What?" " You need to make a delivery?". I told her "I'm a customer" she does not say anything. I went back to produce and after a few minutes I saw a manager. I explained to him what was going on with the produce bags and the tone his cashier took with me in front of other customers. He said he would speak to her and that it was not good to address customers in that manner. They had closed that store for a while and they hired new people. Some of the new people are as irresponsible on customer service matters as the old crew. The only thing I can take out of this situation is that Mr. James Rash (The General Manager) needs to either stay on vacation permanently or start doing his job and training his employees to take care of customers. I understand if you bought 25 registers and hired 4 cashiers and now the place is overwhelmed with customers, I get it. But at 4am with only two customers and you can't do the job of at least treating me with dignity? Anyway, I went to the Walmart at Slaughter Ln.The employees are great and management is doing an excellent job. I should not advertise for Walmart since they're not doing anything about this nuisance to our community at Ben White, but in all honesty, the folks at Slaughter are way better. My son-in-law parked his truck in the parking lot with a for sale sign on it. We left it there for the day. When we went back to pick it up it was gone! They had it towed! Why in the world didn't they call us? The number was posted on the car big as day! They could have called us to let us know they were going to tow it if we didn't come pick it up. very poor customer service: i checked the website for dartboards before i went there. website said they had them in stock. I was unable to locate any in either the sporting goods, or toy sections. I asked one employee- she said she didn't know. big help. i asked another employee in the toy section- she said it is in sporting goods. i searched again finding nothing. i left empty-handed. the website was wrong, and 2 employees were unable to assist me in a simple search. really terrible. and a waste of gas. from now on i will shop eBay, you lose again, walmart. read more

I generally avoid stores like this. I think I've been to a Walmart store less than 5 times total in my life. This weekend I went there for a few hardware items, went up to the self-serve checkout, finished the scanning process, and the machine blacked out. Next thing that happens is the clerk and Manager on duty come over to have a conversation between themselves about how technology doesn't always work, ignoring me as the customer. So I'm left standing there waiting to see if they'll actually have the nerve to fix the problem or even acknowledge that I'm standing there. Neither happened. I actually had to say to them "So what do we do?" No attempt to revive the checkout machine. They told me to go over to one of the other machines. It was about as lazy and as unhelpful an attitude as you can get. This is why I don't shop at Wal-mart if I can help it. The stores are just way too big, and the help is sub-par. I called and asked what time the photo center would close so I could order pictures using one hour pickup/pick up today. They told me 9pm. I got there at 8:20 and they said the photo center closed because the worker decided to leave early, so I couldn't get my pictures. The day before I came to pick up an item that they said they had in store; I got there but they said they didn't have the item. I wouldn't suggest applying here, especially overnights. They'll most likely put you on maintenance. Probably the worst job that you'll ever encounter. Managers show and give absolutely no respect to many, if not most of their employees. They'll follow you around, harass you, add on unnecessary tasks, station you in parts of the store you don't work in. Not to mention they'll constantly install the fear of you losing your job every chance they get. Especially the man they call "G". He'll embarrass you in front of employees, customers, doesn't matter. Isabelle is the store minion. There's cockroaches in every single closet including the back rooms where everything is stored. I am appalled at the customer service I experience at the counter when ordering wedge fries. The employee (bill) snapped, "I'm not psychic, do you want a 1/4 pound, half pound, what?" I told him I didn't know they came in that way, my first time ordering from the deli counter. He had no care for how he was speaking or the facial expressions he made to which I got the message he didn't want to be there and he didn't want to be bothered by me. I told the cashier up front who directed me to a floor manager. I explained I was running pressed for time but what had happened at the deli counter. He could care less as well. He didn't really bother to even stop the notes he was originally putting on his clip board. The manager didn't apologize or even acknowledge what I was saying. Furious that now management was so aloof, I ended up just walking away. I will not shop here again. The manager was a Caucasian male, white Polo and khaki pants. He was standing in front of express check out making notes by a display. I can not believe that is how customers are treated and the ineptitude of a manager to simply apologize. Hell the cashier apologized at least three times during my checking out process. Seems someone needs to be demoted or retrained on how to manage and handle customer resolution. read more

My husband went here for an oil change because it was the closest. When he arrived there was only one person in front of him so he thought they should be done pretty quickly well he has wrong and two hours later they were finally done. Me and James had words and he slammed me against the wall, that is when the two male/security came out and grabbed me. They called me out my race and threatened me. I went to the auto service center at this location this morning for an oil change. Let's try to save some money I say to myself. I generally avoid Walmarts due to their poor service. I should have stuck to that. The auto service clerk was incredibly rude for no reason, but I continued to be friendly to her in hopes she would back off the attitude, or thinking she was having a bad day. AFTER I waited for 90 minutes they informed me that the tool they need for my filter is broken. Seriously, you have ONE of these in your whole shop and didn't replace it when it broke??? Did they apologize for the wait, the inconvenience, or offer any helpful alternatives to get my service handled? NO, in fact, they were incredibly RUDE. I kept my cool, and pulled out the filter wrenches my husband used to change the oil when he was around to do it himself. They claimed that it wouldn't work. I watched him use these tools for that purpose, so clearly they are just jerking me around. I am in a hurry, and if they behave this badly, I expect there is a lack of good management in the store so instead of sticking around to complain, I used their survey to voice my complaints. Here is what I am mad about, first, if you know you are lacking tools for some vehicles, screen them as they arrive so you don't keep customers waiting for nothing. My time is valuable too. I wish I could've gotten the name of the employee managing the self checkout on the grocery side of this Walmart. He went out of his way to be so helpful for me! I stopped by to get water for me and my boyfriend and realized I only grabbed one case instead of two after I got to my checkout lane. I didn't want to leave my lane and I couldn't carry my case back and then carry two back to the lane since I didn't have a cart and the cases were heavy. The gentleman overseeing the self checkout must've noticed the mini panic I was having to work this out logistically and not hold up the line. He came over asked me what he could help with, I explained the situation, and we went and grabbed my second case of water and brought a cart to me. With how much hustle and bustle was going on with other people trying to get their water today this was such a kind gesture to notice and take the time to help. Thank you, stranger! read more

I wish I could give this store zero stars. The store was messy and it was very difficult to find what I was looking for. When asked, general employees did their best to send me in the right direction but when it came down to it, the assistant manager was the one who told me that I was not allowed to buy the $2 product that I had been searching for although it was literally in arms reach behind the rope of the vision center.
