Let me start by saying I NEVER give 5 starts to Walmart's because let's face it you never get five star service at Walmart. However, the grocery pickup team at this particular Walmart is AMAZING! We order from our Reno Walmart all the time and were visiting my parents and needed some food for our nine month old. Naturally we did a pickup because it's what we know. Only we didn't know how pleasant a pickup could be. This team deserves a raise! I couldn't see the name of the supervisor working but holy moly she was on top of it. We didn't even have a chance to check in before she was at our window asking our name. They were quick, efficient and friendly. In Reno we have had a couple instances where the fruit or vegetables we ordered were not in great shape. Not the case at this Walmart. It was such a good experience we tried to call and compliment the manager but they wouldn't answer their phone (shame on you). Hopefully this reaches the team. So business time listed on google till 11 pm and here till midnight and I arrive at 10.47 pm and not let in. Requested to speak with Manager but he doesn't show up nor gives a timeline when he will. Meanwhile several customers turned away. The guy at the door initially refuses to divulge manager's name as if this is some secret organization and only reveals it when I start videotaping conversation. Not sure what is happening at this store.. at least can put 10.45 pm as their closing time so potential customers are not misled and waste time and gas showing up there. Poor business service. It's Walmart, I think they are all the same but different lay out, same concept. MCD , Money Center, Grocery part and of course the holiday decor. You will always know what holiday is coming up. The store was busy but not too busy where the lines are out of control. I give it a three star because you can never find someone that works at the store actually know where things are, so my suggestion is just take your time and look for yourself then remember. Do not pick up here. They will not answer any calls, they will not get to you for an hour. I'm a dasher picking up food that's not even mine and I waited 2 hours just for the order to be cancelled and to not get paid. I'm beyond furious. Seriously. Do not do pickup here. I have never shopped at a store where employees are consistently rude and lazy. One afternoon, my coffee cup fell out of the basket in self-checkout, and the employee told me I would have to go find a mop and paper towels and clean that up. She then told me where to go and argued when my son was unable to find the supplies to clean up the spilled coffee. And, it never fails that if you need liquor or anything that is locked up, you will sit and wait forever for a manager or assistant manager to show up. Last week, we waited 30 minutes for Brian to show up. It isn't even just lazy employees, it is lazy management. Try to bypass that by doing grocery pickup, and guess what, they won't get your alcohol, they will tell you they are out. Why? Because the lazy employees don't want to wait for the lazy managers to open the cabinets. Actually, those employees probably aren't lazy, they just can't get their jobs done if they are sitting and waiting for someone to open a locked cabinet. Another thing I hate about this store is the one or, if you are really lucky, two registers to buy alcohol or tobacco. If there is only going to be one or two registers, do not accept WIC at those registers and do not put employees who are too young to sell alcohol and tobacco at those registers. Everyone I know who shops at this Walmart hates it. Every other customer who I run into who is waiting for a cabinet to be unlocked or to check out is just as aggravated as me. I really dislike coming here. But it's convenient when I need pet food. The workers are always very nice but the shoppers......today the store was clean and smelled pleasant. I will not shop at this store anymore! I had to wait twenty minutes for an associate to open the security for laundry soap only to be told that I have to go a specific line to pay for it! I spend 2 hours shopping through all the clutter and messy isles which personally I don't have a huge problem with but when getting up to the register and scanning all my items the register was cash only and there were no signs and a lady standing there who didn't even bother mentioning that it was cash only to people. After loading everything back into my cart and finding one that took card I was told they don't do apple pay. I went to the store to purchase some items. I wanted some lactose free milk and they had none. As matter of fact their diary cases was only about 10% full. This was at approximately 4:30 pm. I also bought 3 bottles of chocolate syrup (1.39 on the tag on the shelf but was charged 1.58 each) and 2 boxes of Aunt Jemima pancake mix ( 2.50 on the shelf and 2.24 on the end cap at A13 . Was charged 2.50 each) So I was overcharged $.38 on the chocolate syrup and $.52 on the pancake mix. I didn't realize I had been charged a different amount until after I had gotten home. I did purchase a couple of other items but don't recall the shelf prices. Hopefully I was charged the correct amounts. I WOULD SUGGEST YOU BE MORE CAREFUL AT THE CHECKOUT THAN I WAS. From now on I am going to be a lot more careful when purchasing from Walmart. You should be also. read more

So this store is clean, but my biggest complaint about this store are the prices, every time I pick up an item its never the same price when I go to self check out. This store has a real problem with prices not reflecting what it is for example , I go by the fans and its says $26.96 they have one on shelf priced this way and four up top with no pricing. I go to check out and its $41.98 or something so I complain to the lady at self check out she nice calls her supervisor over and I have to show her where I found it like I'm lying , she looks at it and says customers move stuff around and she is not going to match the price even though it was there in that spot and there are four above it. She says I'm talking in circles and she is not going to do it, she walks by an employee and they smile at each other like i'm impossible and being mean , which I don't appreciate . You know the smile when 2 women think you are being mean or a B. Its always someone moved the merchandise around they always say this there and make you feel like a low life moving their stuff around. Instead of just apologizing a meeting the price right away. So I tell the supervisor I want to talk to store manager, He is nice and meets the price right away no problem, its just every time I am told people move stuff around, but I don't think so its the employees that don't care putting the merchandise up. I think it's insulting that they think I would move their merchandise around to get a different price. It means I would have to get a ladder move it around the store in front of everyone, then get 5 fans place it on the top shelf then get rid of the product in another space at the price I like it be whatever that is.But to start I don't even know the right price, so I would have to find some way to find the right price then make it cheaper then print a price label out of my butt cause I can do that put on the shelf dich the old merchandise in the spot. Make room on the shelf for it while no one sees this happening. Right in front of check out mind you were everyone is and not get asked any questions about what I'm doin. All in 15 or less minutes while all I really wanted was a floral wreath hook. WHAT IS GOING ON.GEE WHIZ PEOPLE. SUPERVISOR LADY IM SORRY YOUR NOT TO BRIGHT. By the way the is just regular it does not oscillat you have to move it up and down , it has no remote no special features. It really is insulting far fetched fantasy land that I would do all that for this fan so I could talk to the toxic, no manners supervisor so she can insult me , harass me so I can have the joy sucked out of my life by this lady while I ring myself up and bag my stuff , so I can feel less than human .By some employee that should have some kind of customer service training. MY REVIEW IS ABOUT ONE SINGLE PERSON AND ONE SINGLE EXPERIENCE. I do not believe that all Walmart employees treat customers this way: I printed a coupon for Laundry detergent. I looked it up on Walmarts website and made sure the one I wanted qualified for the coupon. Then I went to Walmart and matched the numbers to the coupon just so I wouldn't have to deal with the embarrassing "Your coupon didn't go through" process. My coupon said laundry detergent pods $2 off 12 count of more so I chose 16 count. At the register, of course, the coupon didn't ring up. The cashier didn't say hello to me. She didn't look at the package or the coupon. She just said "coupon doesn't work." So I started to explain the situation to her and she put her hand up to stop me from continuing. She said "did you print this at home?" "Yes. I printed it off Walmart's website" "Well it's not right. You have to get one of these two." She said pointing to the coupons picture so I replied "No. the coupon says 12 count or higher. I have 16 count." "Nope" she was SO rude about it. So I said "okay well can I talk to someone else?" She calls another guy over and starts talking about me as if I'm trying to steal laundry detergent. He asked her what the discount was and how much the laundry detergent pods were. "$2 off $4" then she looks at me and says "seriously?" Listen Lady! Yes seriously! I promise you I followed the coupon instructions to a T. I made sure the numbers matched perfectly. When I tried to tell the man helping her that she interrupted me and said "He can read." Of course he told her to approve the coupon. I looked online for a particular product they carried which stated that they not only carry it but they had it in stock, on top of all that a sales associate at another Walmart location took out her phone and checked to see which Walmart had it and she showed me her phone stating they did. Well guess what?? After driving across town to go to this location, not only did they not have it but they don't carry it in the store. I tried calling this store before heading over there and after 10 minutes of it ringing I decided to go over there cause the other associate showed me they had it. I told them what it said about them having it online etc but of course the associate couldn't give me any answers as to why this would happen and honestly didn't seem like he cared. I usually get my groceries delivered, but they're delivery isnt very good. The manager doesn't keep shelves stocked so alot of the times they are out of stock on the Walmart app online. The remodel is a disaster. The placement of everything does not make sense everything is hard to find. Everyone is wandering around with their heads up looking confused.. looking around trying to figure out how to find what they came for. Why put the stuff that people use the most way in the back and stuff like crafts that hardly anybody uses out in the center front. I understand you probably want to sell that stuff but nobody wants that stuff very often and it's right in the center. I need toilet paper, toothpaste, body wash, deodorant, shampoo, cleaning supplies etc. in an easy to find place because those are the things that are bought more commonly and on a repeat basis. Putting them way in the back in a corner just makes most people not want to bother if you know what you want and just want to get it and leave. There has been a few times where I was so frustrated I couldn't find what I needed and left and went to another store. I probably would have bought everything I needed there if I could find it! This Super Walmart is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, is always clean, and has a huge grocery section with the low prices characteristic of all Walmart's products making shopping here a win-win anyway you look at it. I pick up groceries here at least once a month and the produce has always been fresh. I like the selection and the low prices. The aisles seem wider to me than the other Walmart stores but I suppose that could just be my imagination. This Walmart is much less ghetto than the one on Panama Lane which is the other one in town that has a large grocery department. I've found the employees at this location very friendly and helpful. I don't come here often, usually in conjunction with vet visits as it is close to the veterinary hospital I use for my pet Yorkie, but the visits are always enjoyable. I can find everything I need, and the lines at the checkout are never too long. read more

Ok so Walmart is Walmart. But this one is probably my favorite one in town. Not only is it close to home but it fairly well-stocked all the time and pretty clean too. Now, let's remember: it's Walmart. The stuff is cheap in price but pretty cheap in quality too... I come here for paper plates and disposable cups but I don't grocery shop here, nor do I buy stuff for my home here. I do those kinds of shopping in two other places nearby. Because I don't really like the quality of their stuff, I don't spend as much money here as I would at their competitors place haha. That's a plus! ;) I would rather not go here but it's so stinking convenient being so close to home plus being open most holidays, 24-hours a day. For that, Walmart gets 3 stars. read more

This is a "super" walmart with a full grocery, pharmacy, tire and lube. It's really clean(for now), huge, and not too busy. It took years for them to actually get it open but now it is. I like it because it's really close to my house, has everything, and it hasn't been torn apart yet. It's in a decent neighborhood and is far enough away from not so good areas that it doesn't get as many gruff looking people. also, most of the employees are new so their enthusiasm has not been crushed yet! I think it is in a bad location for it's own profits but a good location for me because less people go here. -It's 24 hours -I should have probably given it a lower rating but I'm rating it by comparing it to other walmarts. read more

Wow, I haven't been in a walmart like this outside of Kansas and Texas. Although it makes sense that a "midwest" walmart would be located in Bakersfield. The staff were very helpful, gave my friend a scooter to use as she is not very mobile. They have wheelchairs and scooters, which are useful because the store is big! It makes it easier for mobility impaired people to shop. They need more cashiers, they only had 2 open and lots of people in line. It's walmart, which I don't love, but at least it makes one stop shopping easier, and reduces driving from place to place, as you can get fruit, flowers, and spackle in the same store. I'd honestly rather take the long route to this one than the Panama Wal-Mart store. I also find that this one is a lot cleaner, a lot less crowded, and the staff is fairly nice. I also think it's cute that the greeters actually look friendly rather than the one on Panama that look miserable to be there. Sorry that your name tag says "blah blah 500 years of experience". This Walmart is about 2 minutes from my house so it's become my go to store for anything and everything. I appreciate the self checkout lanes which make for a speedy checkout. I usually do my grocery shopping at WinCo but when the heat kicks in good ol' Bakersfield I go to the nearest store so that I could return back home as quick as possible. This is definitely one of the cleaner Walmarts around town. For the most part it's kept well stocked and of course the prices are competitive. As for groceries they have most of the items you may need. They don't have the best produce in town but it's passable. They have hot food and some of it is pretty good. We got some chicken strips and wedges with BBQ and ranch once and they were pretty ok. We'd probably buy them again. One of my favorite food items that they sell is the ultimate Southwest blend in the frozen food isle. I typically mix that with chicken add some lettuce, cheese, homemade salsa and tortilla chip strips and it's my own version of a Chipotle bowl. PM me for my recipe ;) This Walmart is also close to Sam's Club which is a plus for me. There's also a Kohls and Ross nearby if you want to do some more shopping. Overall don't compare this place to Target but if there's one Walmart in town you should shop at it should definitely be this one. read more

This place is truly a place of poorly organized management. Disclaimer, I'm not one to write negative reviews however...(list begins) The dissatisfaction begins at my last visit. I had to get an item outside of a case. Nothing crazy. I ask the close employees if they open it and they inform me that there is a button to use to get someone to come. Well, long story short, 15-25 minutes go by to purchase this single item. I'm blasting the button because at the 10 minute mark I was beginning to become impatient with this sorry excuse of a system. I was so frustrated that I downloaded Yelp to blast the review. However I was met by someone who's like "you've been here a long time, let me get you someone" this man was the only reason why I got anywhere. He deserves a medal in my book. He apologized and actually had great customer service. (I lied, the customer service was actually good with every employee that I interacted with that night. And it took 3 employees to get the case open because the couldn't get the right key) Here's where it gets exciting. So here I am back this poorly operated Walmart and it's about 10:29. My girlfriend is sick as a dog and I'm getting medicine. Well it gets fun. (Spoiler, it's not fun actually) and I'm walking to self checkout and those close at 10:30. As I walk up the guy working it makes eye contact with me then shuts the access point to the self checkouts. I'm like, bro, I got 2 items. Medicine, and medicine. That's just kinda frustrating but whatever, dude was doing his job. As I walk to regular checkout, I see that there are 2 stalls open and the lines are super long. I'm thinking, "great ", what a better way to spend a Saturday night with a sick girlfriend at home waiting for me." At that moment I remember that I redownloaded my yelp app to give this place a less that perfect review. 20 minutes later in checkout and I have completed my review. Thank you Walmart. SO SO SO SO SO HARD to Get Out of this Store. Dozen plus carts full of "paid for" stuff by patrons Bottle Necking at the Walmart Exit. None those patrons had bags. Items just laid in their carts. At the Exit... a Walmart employee checks every item off Patron's receipt. One by One on each item in Cart. Cource matching an item off receipt to an item MIXED in the Cart takes forEVER. Even at 5 minutes per cart for a Dozen Carts before their exit takes a hour. Some Carts take 10 minutes each. To match receipt. If waiting an hour to exit the store after paying at the Cash Register doe'snt warrant one Yelp stars then what Does. Thank You California Plastic Bag Ban! Can you imagine if Walmart did'nt have item receipt checking at their Exit.... Think of hundreds full Carts wheeling out their doors without any bags. Hahaha. Just loose items in carts wheeling out.
