Wanted to buy a beach cruiser bicycle. No one came to help us. Went and found an associate (very nice young lady) and she promptly went to look for help. She came back in a few minutes and said only the managers could help with unlocking the bike!And they were all in a meeting! WTH?? We waited 5 more minutes and then I called and asked to speak to the manager. Never got to him. As I gave up and was headed for the cash register, they said someone was coming. Too late Walmart! Everything is locked up and on top of that it seems like only one person has a key to unlock the locked items. I waited 30 minutes for someone to unlock it one time and then 30 minutes to unlock it another time I went in. They also tend to use the aisles for storage making it hard to get to different sides of the aisle within the store. read more

One time when I went to the electronic area, when I was going to get an iPhone charger, it was close off and when I asked an employee to get the iPhone charge, she act like she didn't want to get it and rather help other employees out instead of getting the charger. read more

I just wanna say that the employees at this Walmart pharmacy department are outstanding and go above and beyond. I recently had to go to urgent care and was waiting on a prescription to be faxed over to them. The urgent care had told me they had set the prescription over, but the employees at Walmart pharmacy told me they had not received it. They took the time out of their day to try to contact urgent care and see if they could find where my prescription had been sent. The pharmacist even contacted the Apple Valley Walmart to see of Maybe it went to the wrong one. My day went from being a badd day of having to go to urgent care, into a good day of getting outstanding helpful, and carrying service from the Walmart pharmacy.. read more

The head boss who's photo is all around the store is never around when you have a huge complaint. They tell you they're not hiring but apparently still short staffed. What's the point of all those registers if your only going to open at least 3 up. There's never enough staff out on the floor when you have a question. What was the point of opening a supercenter if you're not going to hire full on staff to run the place from front to back. I've also known good employees who did a good job their but let them go for petty reasons. Just had the Grand Opening Ceremony and went inside it's just large. This is such an upgrade to Barstow. It has about everything Garden Center Pharmacy both in and Drive Thur, Clothes, Jewelry, Tools, Toys, Hardware, Technology Center, Pet Care, and now grocery like frozen foods, dairy, fruit and a bakery and deli. Including new Scan and Go for when leaving. A New Simple Pickup Area, Money Service, Customer Service, and two restaurants Burger King and Weztel's Preztel. Love this place and will be coming again. read more

I always shop here but I think that'll be changing I have been treated rude a time or 2 but never let it bother me but today I went there grab some clothes and a trash can and food. At self check out Richard the worker came up to my basket and started going through my things he was rude and acted like I was stealing. I am always shopping here spending money with them he made me feel uncomfortable and treated me like a their. He has done this more than once but today he stayed over my shoulder the entire time. This place is like shopping at a prison with bad music. The receipt checker at the door makes for an unpleasant experience every time. Unless you are walking out with a large box (and even then) you don't have to show a receipt. Unless you signed a membership stipulating a receipt check upon exiting you do not have to stop to show anyone your receipt, and even then you only have to stop if you'd like to keep your membership to that store. Once completing the transaction you have no responsibility to the store and any indication to the contrary should be taken as a personal affront to your time. I never stop. I see them staring at me as I'm walking past them. Some might even ask to check my receipt, and to that I respond "no thank you" as I keep walking out. Our contract has been fulfilled. Worst Walmart , auto center department is incredibly slow , understaffed and rude. It's 4:30pm and they stop servicing cars at this time because they have to many tickets, we talked to the store assistant manager Pablo but he said he couldn't do anything about it, that if we left the car in line they would not be able to take care of us until next morning , walmart do not advertise your auto shop being open until 7pm if you will stop taking tickets in at 4:30 we drove and hour here thinking we would be able to Have our looked at. read more

This walmart is disgusting. Never enough baskets for the customers. And the baskets that are available are not in good working condition. The employees are ghetto and don't help with much. I bought a diaper bag that had a security tag on it, paid for the bag & they didn't have the tool at any register to take it off. Ok no big deal find one, they take off with the bag and so much time goes by (I'm clearly visibly pregnant) I ask a csm "hey what's up with that bag I paid for" and her response was " I don't know I sent her to figure it out because we don't have the tool to take off a security tag, you can go to customer service and get your money back or go find her". GREAT customer service Jacquline. How you can be a csm @ the front end where people purchase things and NOT know where to get the tool to get these tags off is pretty impressive. Or even better if we are gonna put tags and lock everything up let's not take money for products and basically say oh your out of luck we can't get it off "sorry". You want to carry a position than take care of an issue that's gonna affect many customers, not send the customers parading around the store to figure out a solution when you have a walkie. read more

This location does not have a sufficient amount of motorized carts, handicapped customers have to come early, at opening to get a working cart, or will mostly be out of luck. The bad things about coming early: 1) shelves are not restocked, boxes and stocking carts blocking every other aisle. 2) pharmacy not open. 3) personnel too busy to help anyone... which is seriously aggravating when the simplest things you need, like OTC ALLERGY MEDICATION is LOCKED UP, and nobody around with a key, the persons restocking nearby are not allowed to carry keys - WHY even have stock items if you do not make them readily available to customers... just to taunt us???? If you are not able to secure certain items, just do not stock them, simple enough, no?? You will still make a gazillion dollar profit. If you feel the need to lock stuff up behind glass, then have personnel available to get it out... THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE, your level of incompetence is unbelievable. Greed is ugly, and I am fully aware that Walmart is not exactly customer friendly or known for high quality products or service, that's why some of your customers shop in pajamas or underwear, but come on... use some common sense, and show an ounce of decency at least. I am sure your employees are not exactly happy to have to deal with angry customers, maybe make a few million dollars less, you have already bullied every local store out of the market, forcing customers to come to you, now have the decency to offer a reasonable degree of service. read more

This Walmart is probably the best one that I visited. They have a private entry/lot for truck drivers and RVers to park. Ample room!!! I was very excited about that! California is very eco-friendly they have recyclable bags and they charge you $0.30 for them but the cashier didn't charge me hehe. Service was ok can't complain. read more

One simple thing that gets my goat is the lack of Dairy Gold Chocolate Milk, it sells like hot cakes but they never have any. I get up at 6:30AM to meet their 07ooAM opening and they still don't have any. You can't ask an assistant because they are flying to another part of the store. They could allow a few employees do some stocking but Noooo, labor is a high cost, so they leave shefs bare until they open. The thing that's wrong with that the employees stocking don't want to be bothered with you getting in there way. We drove from the Apple Valley store after speaking to the manage we were looking for a sand cruiser. They had 3 in Apple Valley we needed one more. The manager in Apple Valley told us they had 19 in Barstow but to call first to make sure they still have them. We tried on the phone several times. The phone just rang and rang nobody ever answers. Finally somebody did answer and my husband was transferred to the sporting-goods department where nobody ever picked up. We just purchased three at the Apple Valley store and they were on clearance. We get to the Barstow store and another manager was very very helpful. She went out to a truck in this horrible wind and brought in two Sand Cruisers . We get up to the register and this item was full price unlike the Apple Valley store. We called over a manager and a team leader arrived. I showed her my receipt that we purchased three in Apple Valley for 25,88 she said they are $54. And the ones I bought must've been returns. I told her they were not return they were reduced in price. She told me that the $54 was the reduced price which was not. Even after showing her the receipt, she just shrugged his shoulders and says well this is Barstow and $54 is the price I can't give it to you what you bought it for in Apple Valley. The prices should be at the same in all the Walmarts in a close proximity but apparently they're not so buyer beware. I will never go back to the Barstow Walmart ! read more

Just stopped into this Walmart and had our usual fried chicken and jo-jo potatoes. We travel with a travel trailer and like to make a nice comfortable stop and have a little snack. Place is horrible, they have like 20 registers, yet there's only one ever open. They expect you to go through the self check out. Well i don't believe in the self checkout, that's why you hire people to run registers. Then they stop you on your way out the door and make it feel like you're a theif. The other day i went and waited 20 min at the jewlery counter, i finally got tired of waiting and had to go find a employee, who saud she had to page someone. I needed my watch battery replaced, the lady that came said she didn't know how, yet it states on the sign they replace watch batteries. Place is ridiculous, everything seems like its locked up. Then when you inquire about purchasing items that are locked up, it takes them 10-15 min for a employee to come unlock it. This walmart is ok. The store is nice and clean. However, the razors, shaving cream, make up, baby detergent, baby soap, and formula are all locked up. In order to get some, a Walmart associate has to be summoned, which can take a minute to 15 minutes, depending on the laziness. Also, the shelves are a little more barren than most other Walmarts. I'm not sure if it is because they do not get shipments, or they do not stock shelves. read more

Do not purchase paint from them I just purchased 3 cans of paint & non matched & tried to take them back to get the right color & the manager tells customer service they don't do returns for paint which is insane & I had the receipt. I don't like giving away my hard earned money for free.. this is not customer satisfaction. This place is an ok place. Prices are reasonable. There are some people who work here that has attitude problems, but honestly though its not there fault. The management that world there all have attitude too. There's only some management that's nice there. I used to work there so I know that some of the managers are crap.
