If you're too old and grumpy to be working with customers who are just kindly asking for help, maybe try Walmart. I shop at Safeway often and I also do pick up orders for you so it's very frustrating to be treated badly by old ladies who clearly don't wanna be working.

Earlier that day, I had called and spoken with someone in the optical department who advised me that there were options available either they could look up proof of purchase through my membership or I could pay a fee to have my prescription added to my current eyewear. When I came in later that evening, Rochelle was the only person available. After I explained the situation, her response was extremely rude and implied I was lying. When I asked what my options were, I was told that I did not have any. I shared that I had already spoken with someone earlier and did not appreciate feeling like information was being withheld. I then asked to speak with a manager. A young man that was manager came over shortly after, he said he was unsure how to handle the situation. At that point, I felt uncomfortable and defeated, and decided to leave. Because this has happened more than once with Rochelle, I've started to feel uncomfortable seeking services there, as I worry about having another negative interactions. I value clear, respectful communication and would really appreciate a more supportive and consistent experience moving forward. The store overall is a good experience definitely room for improvement in customer service all around with workers and improvement on better quality items.

Often, it's just some made up inflated price they are comparing against. Example, a box of blueberries. Grocery Outlet sells them for $6.99 per 1# box and says on the price card You save 1.63 or something similar. NONSENSE. Every grocery store in town sells them for $5.99 or less and the one grocery store that has a name that starts with "Win", sells them for $4.89. So HOW is Grocery Outlets price 40 to 70% off? It's not. You can do that with 95% of everything in the store. It is a scam. Additionally, many of the items they sell are near the expiration date or are weird brand names you've probably never heard of (pickles from India). Some non-food items do have good prices, but mostly this place is nothing but false advertising. On occasion you can find sale items that are close to the same price as your local grocery store (5% savings maybe), but again, nowhere near 40 to 70% off.
