Been to this particular TJ Maxx a number of times in the past few years. Seems like they keep limiting or reducing the Men's section. Each time I visit the store, the inventory of items keeps getting less and less. I don't know what the reason could be, but items for purchase are decreasing. Products are in limited quantity and there's a lack of selection for Men compared to Women's and other departments of the store. I understand most retail stores are like that, but this specific TJ Maxx has lessened the inventory than most, for sure. Prices in general are pretty reasonable and affordable. I do see some items on Clearance and Customer Service at the checkout lines have been very good, based on my experience. read more

Stopped here on the way home from work, went to checkout. Cashier says "you need a bag for that bae?" I said no, ignored the "bae". I go to use apple pay and the cashier is too busy chatting with his coworker next to him to see that nothing is happening on my end. I said "do you need to press a button?" and while I admit my voice is not the most pleasant, I certainly was not a b. He says "idk why you gotta have attitude about it" and I honestly just laugh because what?? He hands me my receipt, says nothing and as I walk away says to his friend "I don't put up with that shit". With COVID and the mask requirement, I learned to stop using as much makeup. I found myself in a position of wanting to trial lipstick finishes/colors for my wedding but the cost of trying different colors and not knowing which brand, color or finish I'd like left me feeling as if I would be spending a lot of money for a one time event. The store had some selection, definitely not your Sephora or Ulta in terms of variety. Today, I found a variety of toothpaste I'd typically find a Whole Foods or a PCC and prices were great. ..my journey will continue to search for a lipstick palette but Tjmaxx is definitely a great place for prices. Quality is mixed; some quality brands make it here (All Clad, Wusthof, The North Face, SmashBox, Clinique, LivingProof) and others are off brand, not so great products from China. read more

My visit was for specific items for which I found. The store was pretty quiet, someone is up front who counts the number of people in the store. I quickly found what I wanted and a few other items. The check out line was pretty small since it was later in the morning. I was quickly helped and assisted by a young lady who was very polite and full of compliments on my perfume and my purse. She rang me up quickly, and I was out of there in no time. Always enjoy the unique items they offer and great prices. Parking did seem kind of full, but I managed to get a good spot. It must have been filled up with other stores because the store was not that busy compared to the parking lot. First time coming to this store and honestly everything was neat and customer service was friendly and attentive. I was exhausted from shopping all day and needed a break at the fitting room area. The store seemed messy, product selection was lacking, they have a security guard in the entrance who mysteriously moved to the back of the store when I walked over there, and then there he was again when I was looking at the spices. Centrally located in Federal Way, Washington right off 3 120th St. parking there are lots of parking spots but the parking lot is always busy because it's a shared parking lot with several other bigger stores in the shopping mall anyways I love to hit the clearance racks and I love to look up and down every aisle I just wish they had men's shoes here it's after Christmas and security is high maybe that's just because of the area I don't know but definitely lots of staff so that's good but selection is very slim but that is also understandable since it's after the holidays I love to come here to look for bargain price shampoos soaps things that nature clearance clothes which I don't need any more of or shop for a loved one read more

I love this store. EVERY time I come in, I always walk away with something. This last shopping event was 3 pairs of dress pants, 4 blouses, a jean jacket and a dress. All under 100.00 the best part about this store is it's location. There are other shops close that if you don't find it here, you can find it locally to mix and match! This TJ Maxx is right next to HomeGoods, so it's a great location to shop at both store to make sure you got everything you want. I find TJ Maxx has better home good items than HomeGood and more sales. I was a little frustrated as the Halloween stuff was rolling out and I was still looking for summer decor. But this isn't just a TJ Maxx problem, but I wish there are still summer stuff and Halloween than just Halloween decor. read more

I like TJ Maxx for the home goods selection. I can always find a good deal on cutlery, pots, china or storage for my kitchen. They have brand names and high quality items for less than retail. Not bad. I don't shop here for clothing... I think the clothing demographic is outdated and unflattering. Not the greatest prices, either. The store itself isn't as clean and or orderly as most "home goods", but it looks a lot better than Ross. Most of the time clothing isn't properly sized, items aren't arranged neatly and the clearance is always a mess. As for customer service, most employees have greeted me or acknowledged me in some way. The cashiers are always nice. There was however one occasion when a jewelry clerk avoided me at all costs. There has been so many times where I said Hi/Hello and 'excuse me' and they just stared at me and said nothing. They look miserable. Especially the ones stocking the shelves. It is disappointing. TJ maxx always have cool things. I just like to find the bargain items. They have cool selections on Huskie gears and Seahawks gears that are great deals! I come here to see what else cool things they have in store! The latest I bought was champagne gummy bears really cool item. I like coming here since it's the closest location and I do find some good things from time to time. But my issue is that there's a police presence here and they intimate people at random with no reason or suspicion. I've noticed it happen to people and it recently happened to me. There's usually security but this time it was a literal police officer and he walked by my children and I glaring and trying to see what we had in our hands. I remember I saw some oil for your skin left on a shelf near check out. I picked it up to see if it was for the face and before I knew it I had the cop hovering over me on the other side of the wall divider, I put it back and then I saw him come back around to see if it had been put back on the shelf or the cart. He made it so obvious and it make me so uncomfortable. As I paid and walked to the door he made it his point to come back around the dividers into the payment area and look me straight is my face as I held my son. I understand there's a lot of theft that goes on here but intimidating customers who work hard and come make purchases innocently is not okay. I've tried my best to keep my store visit to a minimum since this happened. read more

I love getting bargains. I shop regularly at Marshalls, Ross & thrift stores. I think TJ Maxx may be my favorite of them all. I think in fact that I'll be asking Santa for a TJ Maxx gift card for Christmas so I can go back & do some more shopping soon. I like TJ Maxx for getting designer clothes at a discount along with the cool home decor items and small gifts. It's hit or miss with what they will have since it's passed on by the department stores. I came in to find a gift for a one-year old but didn't find anything under $20 that looked cute. Really used to enjoy going to this store to hunt for name brands hidden in the racks, plus home decor and children's toys at low prices. Lately a rude and judgemental manager, or someone who thinks they are manager by the name of Mack has ruined my experience with this location. Mack berated me in front of other customers unjustly for wanting to do a return. Without looking at the item, or asking me any questions he loudly refused to assist me when my daughter and I went into the store last night. The explanation he used was saying he had talked to me about this before, and that I was costing the store to much money. I used to come here almost everyday cause I worked down the street. Now that I live down the street I don't go as often. But went today because my daughters wanted to shop and get some things for our trip. I was dressed way down wearing sweatpants and hoodie with a messy bun. But I guess the fact that my hair isn't blonde and I'm looking borderline homeless to these people is enough for me and my daughters whom by the way were dressed perfectly fine, to get followed throughout the store. It's terribly humiliating and degrading. And I noticed and told my daughters to watch what happened next when we moved to the other isle by the shoes. Within minutes the security guard was behind us and the employee that was following/watching us switched isles as well!!!! Wow I can't believe this actually happened, I got a bit frustrated and I didn't even want to be in the store any second longer! I have money and I don't go places to steal that's never been who was or am. I wanted to cry, I gathered the things I had in the cart and even put them back and the security being right next to me locked eyes with me and I said to him there was no need to be following me I'm not a criminal. With a shaky voice I left the store. I'll never be returning this is very disappointing and breaks my heart that I can't be in sweatpants and a messy bun because I'm not a thin blonde with blue eyes. In my vehicle I contacted the store and asked for a manager then I was hung up on and I called back the manager magically answered the phone and had not one ounce of sympathy. I guess this is the world we live in nowadays. I don't want anything from this company but for them to treat everyone with dignity and respect. Don't assume we are bad off the bat. read more

I came to the store with some returns/exchanges after my baby shower. A cashier sent me to the manager with a difficult return (no TJMaxx official tags, no gift receipt) and right away I was told "we'll take care of you." She spent several minutes getting everything in order and made sure I got a fair amount of store credit. I really appreciated her understanding, especially when other stores in the area haven't been with this type of thing! This is what makes me want to come back. read more

Was just in TJ Maxx this evening and had the worst shopping experience ever. To begin, I am a frequent TJ Maxx shopper. I pop in at least 1-2 times a week and it is my go to spot for clothing, beauty, accessories. Jason, the store manager made my two friends and I feel extremely victimized. Started out in makeup, then the stationary aisle, clothes, comforters and no matter where we were in the store he was close by secretly watching and "organizing" items nearby. If it wasn't him, he would send an employee to monitor us. It got to a point where we felt SO uncomfortable and couldn't look/shop in peace. We purposely would move from different areas of the store because we felt like the staff had all eyes on us. I eventually confronted him because this behavior was abnormal. In addition, the comforter (giant bed set) my friend purchased was thoroughly unfolded and checked at the front register like she was trying to hide something. We work in retail management and have a hard time understanding how a company can make their CUSTOMERS feel so out of place. Never have I experienced this bizzare behavior from a retail store. Customers should always be the top priority. Based off previous reviews, clearly this is an issue at this store and Jason claims this is the way he was trained. Will not be returning. read more

This store is nice and all, but what really ruined my first time experience being here was that there was an undercover employee following throughout the whole store when I was buying underwear and socks. I don't think I look like a thief, and I think there are better methods than using discrimination to catch thief's. read more

I rarely shop in here. It reminds me a little between ROSS and Burlingtons. I bought my convertible backpack that also has wheels. The strap on my last one gave way. This one is slightly bigger and will fit all my travel office needs. That was my goal for today. I went everywhere and they really didn't have a bag of this size still able to be a carryon bag for the airplane. My next trip will be the tell all if I bought the right thing. The store looked pretty organized. I bought some soaps here in the past that lasted me and I kid you not about 3 months. They have clothing and a lot of other stuff for men, women and children. Love this location. Always a great selection of home decor and kitchen necessities along with a decent selection of clothes. Tacoma location still has more designer choices but love this store for all their other options too. Oh and the employees are most helpful, particularly Marie in the Jewerly department. I can always count on a great selection of gifts and cosmetics/facial products here as well. I've been going to this location for years. However, my recent visit wasn't so good. We stopped by to buy a purse as a gift. We ended up spending quite a lot, couple hundreds. I got the gift along with a card and a gift bag. While the cashier was ringing up our items, I didn't pay attention to her as we were talking about the items. Then, I noticed she opened the flat unopened gift bag, turned it up side down, shook it hard, at first I thought she was looking for the tag, so I pointed at the bottom and said oh it's right there. She gave me such an odd smile and kept on doing. Then, I realized why she was doing so... This was my very first time feeling so embarrassed and offended. I handled large amount of money before as part of my daily job, still handle people's money on daily basis, never done a thing wrong! And the gift bag was flat and unopened, why would I hide something in there? To save $2-3? While I spent hundreds? Very unprofessional. If we weren't in a hurry, I would have talked to her sup. They need to fix this type of behaviors. Yes, you might save yourself $2-3 if you catch something, but you will loose more in the long run when you try to pick on a wrong person! read more

Employee kept following me around and I felt very uncomfortable shopping. I always go in and I love their clothes, beauty products, and appliances, in fact most of my things are from there but after my experience today I don't think I will return. At first I was glancing through shirts looking for a cute blouse for a birthday party I'm going, I like to take my time and see everything like most girls do. I notice the guy that first ask me how I was doing when I entered the door ask me again how I was doing and I answered good and I asked how he was doing as well I didn't think anything of it until I went to look at the pants section and there he was standing and staring at me. My first thought didn't find that weird I thought he was probably just casually there however I left the pants section and went back to the jr tops after about 2 mins there he was again standing and staring , it was one of the most uncomfortable situations I've experience, I knew I wasn't doing anything bad or stealing but still felt very uncomfortable being there, I ended up getting the things I grab paying and leaving I didn't want to be in that situation. When I was paying the my cashier didn't seem nice like the other times I've been there he was just like giving me a blank stare and conversation. I don't know if the guy told him I was stealing or something but I paid and left. I called my co worker to tell her about my experience and she said she's heard similar experience about them following people around. Hopefully they take this under consideration and don't scare their customers away. Won't be returning to this location in a while hopefully when I do it's a better experience read more
