They don't answer any of the phones from the main number that you'll try because the posted number has a vm that you can't leave a vm because the box is full. Kamyra helped us out and let's just say homegirl is crushing the customer service game, we asked her for help because we had absolutely no clue on how or what/which "item" to buy. She helped us on sizing/selection and kept coming back to check on us to make sure we bought the right item. Bad service at Downey Walmart store. For three weeks not enough shopping carts that you have to search for one outside parking lot. In store shopping and in less than 3 minutes someone steals my shopping cart while looking for items on the shelves. When I ask staff about shopping carts! Why not enough in store they don't know. When stated about shopping cart missing! No response! Customer service staff not know anything about low on shopping cart inventory. Worst store next to another I stopped shopping at. 4 times I visited and have to shop for mother in law and when asking associates for help, they look at you funny and walk off to help others or just run to the back. I had a terrible experience with their grocery pick up service my review is solely based on that. I was there on a Sunday night, my pick up time was scheduled between 5-6pm. I was there roughly around 5:50pm. To begin, all the pick up parking slots were taken, that wasn't the issue, that just comes with the territory. I waited for about 15 min before a slot became available. One hour passed by and no grocery's yet, then 2 hours and still nothing. Around this time people started crowding at the door from where the associates come out from from what I assume to demand answers or demand for their grocery's. I was in slot number 1 so I could hear everything they were saying. Most of the people inquiring were post-mates drivers who had also been waiting I heard someone say he'd been waiting there for 4 hours, 4 hours! I would understand his frustration. The associate then began to take their names down to help them in that order. At this point he took about 7 persons name down. Some of those people had only be waiting half hour or so, from what I heard. In an effort to find some clarity I also came out of my car to give them my name. The associate told the person before me that he was helping those people out first before helping everyone else. So in a way he was not helping people by the order they came instead rather than in the order he took names down from the people applying pressure. That didn't seem fair at all. Some us had been waiting beyond the time than some of those people, but since we are encouraged to stay in our cars I tried to do just that. What is the point of their system, to check in find a slot and wait in your car, if they're just going to help anyone who starts knocking on their door. The associate helping us told us that it would be another 20-25min before we could get helped. At this point what's another 25 min? So I decided to wait. It was already 8pm by this time. Another hour went by and by this time there hadn't been an associate come out the door anymore. People were still knocking on their door and no response. I called the store and called different departments and no answer what so ever. It was so frustrating to say the least. I had my 1 year old daughter in the car with me and for the parents out there you know it's not easy to keep a one year old happy. I placed this order two days prior to my pick up, what's the point? All post mates orders were prioritized. And some how their system failed miserably. I buy grocery's on sundays to be prepared for a busy chaotic work week and I'm just so disappointed with how they treated all this. Now Monday morning. I've been calling Walmart for an hour and I get no answer from any department or any associate. I have placed a pick up order with Ralph's now. Sure more pricy but it's worth it since I'm not getting the run around I got from Walmart. read more

I had ordered curbside pickup to get baby formula and when I arrived at the store I wasn't allowed to check in on my phone so I had went into the store explaining the problem and was told to wait at the back of the store until someone came out. Well I waited for hours and no one ever came out and I was forced to cancel my order so I didn't even get the baby formula for my baby. If I would've known curbside pick up is based on luck instead of a actual system I would've went to a different store. Very disappointed with a tv purchase I made on line for pick up at this store. On February 1, 2020 I bought a Hisense tv on line with extended warranty. This month I noticed a shade in the middle right side of the screen and called it in to be replaced or fixed. Walmart referred me to the extended warranty I bought and paid for and they tell me the warranty doesn't cover this problem! So I have a tv I bought with extended warranty and have this problem with the screen and Walmart or Hisense won't solve my issue. What kind of piece of mind do I get buying from Walmart or buying extended warranty when I have an issue and neither respond!?!?!? Worst purchase ever! As a first time out and proud homosexual, I decided to learn how to do a full face of make up and make my first cosmetic purchases at Walmart where I met the most helpful Department manager, Mary. She was able to help me find a great match of foundation to my skin tone and guide me through many recommendations along with helping me with application techniques! I wouldn't have expected this kind of helpful service from a Walmart with a messy pharmacy area and door greeters who look like they've lost all sense of ambition and motivation. I've been waiting in the automotive department waiting for assistance for 30 mins !!! All I need is something out of a glass case, this whole thing would be a 5 min in and out trip but nobody has come to help. I've asked several employees that pass by and they say they don't have keys and keep walking. Since I was told n the area I decided to visit this Walmart, it was a huge mistake. I needed to get a can of spray paint for a project I am currently working on. The spray paint is locked up which I can understand. I had to pay in the electronics dept or the associate would bring to the front register. I really don't like to shop at the Walmart in Downy ,CA , because some of the workers are very rude. on one visit to this store, after waiting about 15 minutes, a worker # 1 came by and my husband asked him, if he could please open a cabinet that had a product my husband wanted to purchase. worker said that it wasn't his department. Soon worker #2 passed by and my husband asked her the same Question. She said I don't know, I can't help you I'm busy." they even refused to call someone to come help or that was from the department. This is the most ghetto Walmart in and around Downey. It's in a brand new shopping center but the management must of come from a closed down Long Beach store. When you drive up to pick up an order the phone number you are suppose to call no one answers and then it goes to a mailbox that is full. If you try and call the store manager noone answers the phone either. God forbid you need money services because the line is long and service is slow. Kids managing the money service serious. Then the sign posted in light red letters says they are out of money orders but you don't see the sign until you are next in line to see the cashier because in there stupidity they posted it in light red and nowhere near the location line so you wait in line for half hour while the kids running the place help people in self service. Finally when you ask to speak to a manager about all these store experiences you get greeted by a mean faced "Sergia" who tells you "she" can see the little "no money" order sign perfectly. Every time I come to this Walmart I swear it to be the last! The customer service is terrible, but today was the worst! My dad ordered my daughter a pool float so this weekend we made plans to go to the river. First the issue was the pick up name didn't match what was online. Once that got updated and fixed on their end, i got my box but decided to open it and it was not what we had ordered! The lady told me I had to get in the huge line to return it... like are you kidding me?! This was your mistake I was not getting back in that line! There was a employee that was behind the counter with out a name tag or blue vest I find out his name is JP I don't know he thinks he's a manager or covering as a manager but he did a very poor job at it he was NOT very understanding nor will to help less trying to find a solution to my problem that I had with a price. JP the there team did not honor their shevelf price. Even when another employee told every one the price of the item he still declined giving me the price. Omg this place is horrible and gets worse and worse everytime I come. It's cheap, and close by but I think I have to drive further to target now. First of all pretty much everything is locked up and you have to hunt down an employee to open up the glass to get what you need and pay for it in the spot or have them leave it locked up at a register. 99% of the chance any employee nearby WONT have a key and it'll take 20 mins for anyone to come help you. I am very disappointed with the online and delivery service!! I took every step to follow the instructions because an item was not delivered as stated in my text message they sent my way. I looked all over the property and did not see the box. So, I called the store. No one ever answered the phone, and it just kept ringing. The number they provide it was not available as well. I wrote a message on their website as instructed. No one has called me back and I have not received an update regarding a refund. Product was for an elderly person. I appreciate Michael(?) for helping us transport a 10ft box to our car. Also shout out to the Garden Department clerk (young guy with gray hair) on the evening of april 25th. His sense of urgency made it a much more pleasant shopping experience during Covid. There was a discrepancy with our online pick up at the Pico Rivera walmart. We placed our online order for same day pick up at 11 AM and was cancelled last minute 6 PM because their online order department did not set aside our item and sold it to another guest. I had to run to Downey to get the item I needed and that had been promised by Pico. One last thing, I appreciate the organization during Covid at Downey Walmart. read more

I personally love this Walmart compared to the one that I love closer to (the one in South Gate) . I'd rather spend more time and gas to come to this one because the workers are a bit easier to find than any other Walmarts.
