There are so many things that I like and dislike about this Walmart. It's big but crowded. I can't find the things I need because I don't know where they are. I'm still not used to this Walmart. Neither were the employees... It's open 24 hours, but why do I need to go to Walmart at 2 or 3 am? I'd rather sleep. They have made McDonald's bigger and better but not necessarily better for my health. It is very busy all the time. It's at a new location, but STILL VERY FAR AWAY FROM MY HOUSE. In hunt for some fishing gear and the lack of in other places, I started hitting up Walmart in different cities. This location has very low inventory. The shelf where all the reels are located were mostly empty. Either the city of Fairfield must have serious fishers here or their inventory team are not doing their jobs. I do give this location some credit. They carry crab snares here and haven't found any at their America Canyon location. The parking lot was packed so expect to find a large amount of shoppers here. However this time when I pulled out a box of pancake mix from my bag it was compromised by olive oil which was in a entirely different bag, which means it was soiled before I took home, ie at the store. Pretty good Walmart Store, this is the first one that I've seen that has a grocery store inside. It's so convenient to have everything in one store. Their grocery store prices are super cheap too! A pack of hot dogs was 89 cents when I came and their hot dog buns was around $1. Kinda skeptical about Walmart food and I'm surprised my stomach took it LOL I was kinda worried when my mom bought a slab of salmon here it was $15 when I normally pay $20 but you know what it tasted just the same as other grocery stores!! I can understand why they lock certain items up, but for heavens sake, someone has to know where the keys are. Waited a half hour in sporting goods a couple weeks ago, because the only key went out to lunch with an employee. Yesterday, there was a 10 to 15 minute wait in air fresheners, with five customers in line behind us awaiting the same key. Their excuse is always being short staffed. Why? Can we say ghetto? This store is the reason why I won't shop at any Walmart location. I will give you a number of reasons why. First. You get into the parking lot and there's carts everywhere. You can't even park because the carts are taking the parking spaces. Second. The carts are RAGGEDY!! I mean I don't expect for every cart to be clean or have straight wheels, but everytime I go to Walmart I can never seem to get a cart that will move straight. Walmart has the worse carts ever. I have to use my whole body to turn the cart straight while pushing it through the store. Third. The employees are RUDE. They don't smile. They don't seem eager to help you. Why are you here then? Fourth. On one occasion myself and my 5 year old daughter were standing in line to return something at customer service. One employee (African-American female) walked up to the area. She said something to another African-American female who was behind the counter. The conversation went as follows "Bitch I heard what you said about me, and you better watch your mouth." The female behind the counter said "Excuse me, but we're both at work, we can talk about this later." The other female said "Bitch I don't give a fuck where we are, you better watch your mouth, or I'll beat your ass." Ghetto!! I've witnessed a few shop lifters get caught, police activity there, homeless in the parking lot, I often question my safety here. There are always way too many carts in the parking lot, and one time no carts available up front, I had to walk back to the parking lot to get a cart. People park so poorly here, so I usually park far out because I just know I'll get hit or door dings, it's dirty, people always asking for money which I don't think they should be allowed to do, or someone wanting to look at and fix your windshield (mine is just fine with no chips or cracks) It's annoying! The perks to this Walmart location is the parking and the fact that it's the size of a Costco which pretty much means you get to exercise and shop at this location. I'm sure you could lap a mile in it. The not so fun aspects of this Walmart is the staff. Either the cashiers are excruciatingly slow and getting too caught up in conversation or if you need help, the employees are scarce. I came in one time to pick up a bra for a friend who was in the hospital and I needed help finding this specific brand that they carry at Walmart, but I couldn't for the life of me find her size. I tried asking for help from the lady in the bra department, but because I was accompanied by a man, I was ignored. She just pointed and said "There" and honestly, I could have received more help form a 9 year old than what she gave me. On the few times I've been here I've never seen a messy aisle, but I have seen products in the wrong spots before. I almost bought a face wash that said it was for $5 which made me squeal with excitement about the savings, but then had to do a double check before I realized that they hadn't marked it up in the right spot correctly and that it was in fact $13. Bummer. Also, for a Walmart the size of a Costco this place can get filled up really quickly and I wouldn't recommend coming here on a Sunday since the parking lot is shared with the church. I've come here once or twice and had difficulty finding any parking, but like I said in the perk mentioned above: there is parking. This review is difficult to write. How does one review Walmart without taking into account all outside factors that make Walmart so Walmarty? To start, the parking lot here is disgusting. This place just opened within the last few years and the parking lot has enough stains, trash and half eaten McDonald's to make it look an extra 10 years older. Obviously the employees aren't making these messes (well, maybe) but they sure aren't doing much to clean them up! Expect having to walk by someone wanting you to sign their petition ("No habla Ingles!") or someone wanting you to give them change because their car broke down/their wife is in the hospital/they need diapers. Yes, yes, this Walmart has all of those traditional Walmart features -- SUPERSIZED! Indeed, this location is quite a bit larger than your run of the mill Walmart. With it's extra size comes a bakery, deli counter, expanded fabric section and the same poor customer service from the last Walmart. It's fine and dandy that they employ the senior citizens of our fine town, but please don't let the arthritic grandma run the check stand anymore. Why on earth would you put her in that position anyway? Oh, Walmart, I'm afraid I'll never understand you. However, I do understand your pricing. As low as you'll find in the area on most everything. That's your saving grace Walmart, you keep my wallet a little chubbier than Raley's or Safeway does. Here's why I gave it a 4 (and it's my first "4" for a Walmart). #1- 24 Hours: Opened 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Can't beat that. #2- Convenient Location: Located between Exit 47 and 48 on N. Texas Street off the 80 freeway. #3- Grocery and Fresh Produce: Decent selection of produce at affordable prices. Looking at the grapes my friend was snacking on prior to paying for them at the registry, they looked rather tasty. #4- Huge Selection of Holiday/Seasonal Decor: I almost don't want to write this one, but as a Yelper, I got to share the love. I was shopping here last week and found a great selection of holiday items and Christmas tree decorations. My favorite were the large Rubbermaid plastic boxes that are dishwasher and microwave safe. Great for lunches! $1.08 got me 4 to a pack and it had a beautiful sparkle to them too! Came in two sizes. I was equally happy with the 2 pack of mini lights I bought for my two mini trees (total was less than $1.00) and the holiday napkins I bought for .37 cents. #5- Fast check out: I can't stress how many Walmarts annoy me dearly due to inefficiencies at checkout. The worst thing for business is the moment a customer leaves the checkout stand, gives up, and returns to their vehicle or bus stop empty handed. I've done this on many occasions when I couldn't stand the line at other Walmarts. This one did not let me down. Fast and efficient check outs. #6- Discover Cash Back (up to $200 per day): This isn't unique to this location, but you can do it without a charge at all Walmarts. This location and their apathetic response to my issue infuriated me. I spent 44 minutes standing in a line to return a busted bottle of Round Up weed killer. Ghetto persons behind me fighting (loudly) about how she is claiming he isn't a good father and that he needs to quit smoking to pay the bills. Once I was done returning the item, I went in to pick up my wife's prescription. I bought it at the Pharmacy and then went grocery shopping. After I was 90% done with the shopping, I needed to grab a box I noticed on the other isle right next to me. I left the cart at the end of the isle. I walk up and grab the box, and return literally less than 1 minute later, AND MY CART IS GONE. Some pathetic soul decided to steal ear medication. I look quickly up and down all the aisles; it was as if whomever took the cart decided to run across the store. I ask two workers and both didn't speak English well (I know it's Walmart) but they did understand me and didn't even direct me to Customer Service or a Manager etc. One of them looked at me and then kept stocking the shelves even though I told her my prescription was in there. Finally an older man who worked there told me to go to the front. I did, and was met by a rude Manager who looked at me with this bitch-look and said "I don't know what you expect me to do about it." Even though it is Walmart and not exactly high-class shopping, I expected WAY more respect from a Manager. She leaves and tells me someone will help me. Now some guy walking with a half-thug limp (no work outfit) tells me he will look on the security cameras. I said "ok," figuring it was a long shot. He comes back a few minutes later only to tell me the camera's don't even extend to that part of the store. Really?? Why didn't you tell me that before I showed you exactly where in the store I left my cart? He tells me there isn't anything he can do. He then walks away and continues fiddling on his cell phone. The pharmacy there wasn't much better. They said there was nothing they could do and that we'd have to contact the doctor to get a refill. I spent three hours in this store to return an item, pay my Co-pay for my prescription (that I now don't have), and to go grocery shopping. I'll definitely be shopping at the Vacaville store more often and not here. My wife will have to go back to her doctor to get the prescription refilled. read more

I've been going to this Walmart location for years and I've never really had a serious problem here, other than the long lines and products being out of stock (always). However, the customer service truly tested my patience today. I came in this morning to get some snacks, drinks, and prizes for the students at work (I work at a tutoring center and we were having a workshop). I bought 12 Easter Eggs for a dollar each. What a deal! It's something the kids would enjoy too. I went to the self-checkout, however the lady managing that area checked the eggs out for me, because I chose not to bag them and it always asked for her code after each scan. It was on a box already, so no need to bag them. She scanned them 13 times and I ended up paying extra. It was fine with me as long as I get another egg. She said I couldn't, because I had to go through customer service for that. "WHY?!" I said, I already paid for it and I have a receipt to prove it... Customer Service had a long line with only one register open and I really did not have time to wait for more than 30 minutes. Another lady checking the receipts on the way out tried to tell me the same thing and when I told her I'm on a rush to get to work, she just ignored me and went on with another customer. RUDE! Regardless if it's just a dollar, the way these employees handled this situation is what you call "poor customer service." Not even a single apology was uttered and I was completely ignored. Placed a curbside pickup order for pickup between 9-10pm. Seemed late but it was the only same day appointment within an hour of me so I went for it. Got that message that my order was ready and went to the store to find that the number on the curbside pickup signs is out of service and the main number of the store just rings endlessly no matter what option I selected on the phone tree. Due to a medical situation, I was unable to go inside so I had to leave without my order. I drove 40min each way to get there and waited over 20min for someone to pick up the phone before leaving empty handed. This Walmart is ugly, messy, and severely understaffed. So..it's pretty much like every other Walmart. In terms of Walmarts though I have to say that the people are pretty friendly when you come through late at night and it's surprisingly cleaner then what you'd expect. There are definitely a ton of aisles that need better maintenance or are completely blocked off due to large pallets, but for the most part this place is fairly clean. Like every other Walmart this place is pretty ghetto. Not sure if this is typical for all Walmarts at night but it's near impossible to find a cart since they hide them somewhere inside (makes sense I guess). Aside from that, you'll get the typical experience here with beggars, smokers, people giving you awkward looks that make you wanna hold your wallet tighter and see at least a couple of customers that you'll wanna tell your friends about. All in all it really isn't too bad. Three stars is above average for Walmarts in my opinion and it's definitely the cause of the great workers. read more

I never go into WalMart with the expectation that I'm going to get five-star customer service, but at least a three-star would be acceptable. We went in to purchase a sewing machine. We originally ordered it through their website, but it wouldn't ship in time. So we headed to the store to see if they had any in stock, which they did ... for a higher price than the website. So, we headed to the online orders pickup area to ask about the price discrepency and we were told that the store and the website were two different entities and they don't price match each other. HUH? I questioned it, so Walmart.com and Walmart are not the same? They gave me the run-around a couple of times and I insisted that they do the price match, which they reluctantly agreed to do. At this point, I was still in a good mood. They brought me over to the electronics area and rung me up with the discounted price, which required an override from a "manager". Five minutes went by and no manager. No override key. The cashier lady continued to call for help and absolutely no response. Ten minutes went by. Fifteen. Twenty. The entire time the cashier called for help and told me that it's always like this. I offered to go look for the manager to no avail. Nearly twenty-five minutes later, this young black girl walks up, says nothing, enters her override code and starts leaving. I stop her and say that I've been waiting for twenty-five minutes. She lets me know that she's busy, avoiding eye contact the entire time and basically acting annoyed and "could care less" that I've been waiting. I let her know that it's unacceptable to have customers waiting so long without even answering the cashier, apologizing for the wait, anything ... she robotically repeats that same phrase that she's busy. She could care less. She likely hates her low paying, soul sucking job. And she makes sure that everyone knows. So now, I've let everyone know as well. I just want to say: I went to Walmart to purchase two bicycles. Oh wow this is such a hard task. For your employees to handle. The lady I spoke to first was just standing around I asked her if i could get the two bicycles in boxes. I pointed to each one that I wanted. One men's BLK and One Woman's Purple (adult bicycle). Her response was: "I only unlock bicycles." Then just stared at me until i asked. "Can you go find out if you have them in boxes, please?" I was thinking, her response should've been let me find out. or something long the lines of being happy to help me instead of me asking her to do something was like the most annoying thing ever. About 15 mins later this guy comes out with two bicycle boxes. He says they're the ones i wanted. so I purchase them. My wife notices that the boxes both say MEN's on them. Closer inspection we noticed that they are two of the same bicycle(MEN'S BLK Bicycle). I tell the guy we told the girl who was helping us that we wanted the woman's bicycle and the men's bicycle. He said the lady told him two of the same. The lady comes over and argues that she told him different. At this point I could care less who was wrong or whatever. Just fix the problem. Why did I have to listen to two employees bicker at each other for 10 mins about who was wrong?! They get a manager (the stupid witch like) manager told me to go wait in the long return line. This Manager is rude and doesn't comprehend the English language. And she most of all acted like i was wasting her time with my problem. I refused to wait in the LONG return line, because her employees have poor communication skills. I've already spend an HOUR at the store trying to purchase two bicycles?! why is this so hard? I asked can't you just switch it out? she passed me to the manger of returns, which was a nicer lady. She apologized for my lost of time and how the other manager lack the skills to be a manager. While she doing the exchange process we found out that the guy got us a lady's Blue bike. At this point I was already tired and said forget it ill keep this one.
