So I've been coming to this Walmart location forever. Even though I've moved out of the area and have three stores closer to me, I continue to frequent this location. I consider it one of the better locations in the Phoenix/Glendale area. Arrived about 10 on the Thursday before Easter to avoid the weekend rush. The store was clean like usual, and most of the items on my list were stocked. So why the one star review? Well, I needed corn tortillas for Good Friday enchiladas. Imagine my surprise when I checked the expiration/best buy date and found tortillas that had expired in November. NOVEMBER, four months prior. So I'm thinking it's just one package. Nope, some expired in December, some in January. Ok, I will just buy another brand. Needed salami and pepperoni for pasta salad. Same thing in the deli, the salami had a sell date of March 17th, and the pepperoni had a sell date of March 24th. If I would have ordered online you can guarantee all 3 of these products would have ended up in my order. I'm sorry Walmart this is unacceptable. I'd expect to find products like this at a discount/liquidation store. Grocery prices are too expensive for me to pay full price for expired food. I know you don't care and most employees now a days just want a paycheck for nothing but this falls on your store manager. I'm not sure if I will continue to drive out of my way anymore. read more

On May 6, 2026, at approximately 1:40 PM, I needed to buy men's shavers which happen to be in the "Beauty" section. The shavers, why I don't know, were locked behind a plastic door. I went and asked the only employee in the section, which happened to be the cashier, if she could unlock the door so I could buy shavers. There appeared to be one person that was finishing up. She gave me a tort answer and said she needed to handle the current person and then would come over to where the shavers were. All right, understanding that, I waited for several minutes and when she finally came, she talked to another Walmart employee, didn't look my way, even though I was very visible, and then walked off. I went to the cash register area and showed myself, and she still didn't acknowledge me. I had to find another employee, which I think was a merchandiser who had entered the area, to come over and help me where the shavers were. That employee was okay, but the cashier needs to learn customer service. Being nice and acknowledging people would help. THAT'S customer service. The cashier's name was Kathy. read more

If you want to get harassed, this is the Walmart for you. I have two huge complaints. Upon exiting, the greeters love to stop my 80-year-old mother to check her receipt based on a cart full of bagged groceries. Stop harassing elderly people! There is a reason that many people call this store Hellmart. I thought I'd try grocery pick up. I ordered groceries on line. Of course they won't let you buy things like toilet paper on line and when you type in toilet paper Reynold's Cookie Baking Sheets come up. They had a few days to get my order ready and on the day of my order they made 7 substations and four items were out of stock. Main problem was THE PICK UP. You have to pull into designated pick up parking spots and there are signs to call a phone number. THE PHONE NUMBER POSTED IS INCORRECT when you call and you get a quick message to call another phone number. If you are coordinated enough to call the other number nobody answers it and you get a message that the store is closing early from last December. The only way to get your groceries is to bother the poor cart boy and he will put you on the list. I know that these are the worst of times but there is no excuse for all these problems. I shop here a couple times a month when I need something specific for a good price. As expected Walmart prices are low. This time I tried the online shopping with curbside pickup. Usually I like shopping myself but thought I'd give it a try. Prices on most of my items were lower than other grocery stores I go to. Great app to let you know the status of your order and when to pick it up. As soon as I I parked and clicked the app button I was there a Walmart person was out delivering my groceries to my trunk. Only one item was unavailable and I said no substitutions so I was not charged for it. Very good experience. I will do it again when I don't need fresh fruit and vegetables. Just left this store that is 3 blocks from my home, it was 8:30AM and I am beyond disappointed and frustrated. This store is remolding or rearranging most of the store. Can not find anything and you end up walking in circles and still not finding what I needed. Things I got the packaging was damaged and I was overcharged on other things. To frustrated to complain, just need to get out of that place. Their workers are everywhere and on radios and they too can not find what they are looking for and calling for help. We waited for 1/2 hour to get help in the BBQ department and couldn't seem to get help. Wandered around until we found someone to help. Nice senior citizen but not at all knowledgeable about BBQ's cuz he came from gardening. Then he couldn't find anyone to help get the 200 pound BBQ into the back of the truck so he and my husband had to do it. No customer service at all, Walmart. Putting your employees at risk. I recently moved from central Phoenix to Glendale and use this store as it's closest. I was using the Walmart off 15th Ave and Bethany Home in central Phoenix before. For this store off 59th Ave and Bell, I couldn't believe how remarkable the customer service and overall experience was. I went a few times in February and multiple people offered me help and were very friendly. This had never happened before, EVER !!! There wasn't much of a wait and things were just impressive. Now if any of you know about the other Walmart in central Phoenix, you probably know what I'm talking about being rough. Lots of Ruff & Ghetto along with thieves there. As far as my experiences more recently at Walmart in Glendale m, things have changed somewhat but haven't had any real issues. I do wish that they had more checkout lines being worked by people versus doing it myself but whatever. The bags are hard to get apart and you know people lick their fingers to get them open, GROSS. I've struggled and wanted to but that's so nasty, especially now a days. Same thing happens at the produce and meat sections were you can use an available bag. This was probably one of the worst Walmart I have ever been to. Inventory was very low, everything was out of order. And the biggest issue was trying to find someone who works there! I could have lived with the mess, customers act like the own the place and just throw things around. But when your're trying to find something with no success. It would be nice to have some help. Now this place is huge, one of those Super Walmart. One stop store that has both retail and grocery. Getting out was pretty easy, just went to one of the self check out. This is our usual Wal-Mart we shop in weekly and I haven't reviewed it until now. For the most part, the employees are much friendly than the Wal-Mart that is actually closer to us (Metro Center) and we are usually greeted pleasantly when we arrive. My complaints about the store are they usually aren't well stocked for items I'm looking for and often I have to go to another store to get what I might need for a recipe (and these are things you think should be in stock like canned tomato sauce for instance). I prefer on some things to buy generic and while the brand name is available, it can often be for 50 cents or more an item over generic. Another complaint is the minute you hit the frozen food aisle, the temperature goes go down by about 10 degrees. That is uncomfortable if you forget a sweater in winter, but semi okay in summer when it is so hot outside. However, I think my biggest complaint is outside where they have the places to bring back your shopping carts. They have no such place at the closest parking to the store. It is halfway down, so people who are lucky to find a parking spot close have to (if they do the right thing and return the cart) walk about 10 car lengths to return the cart. Consequently, that means there are lots of abandoned shopping carts in opened car spaces that you have to get up and move if you want to park there. I usually see if someone is finishing loading their groceries into their car and offer to take back their carts for them. I did hear (at least for now) that if you let Wal-Mart do the shopping for you (you order online and then you pull into a space, call them, they'll bring your groceries out) it is free if the order is at least $30.00. I have ordered a birthday cake online and it was ready at the time I had requested it to be ready. Other than my complaints above, it is a good store to shop in. read more

I live near this store so I purchased a item from here recently. The item turned out to be a hunk of junk that was wildly overpriced compared to every other store out there. I decide to come back and return it. Luckily I had my receipt still and I arrived at 8:15 as I got off work. The Walmart is open till 11 so I didn't think it would be a big deal. I go to the customer service to return my item and am greeted by a lady that seemed to be quite irate. I take that back I wasn't greeted I was stared at until I spoke. Every time I go to this Wal-Mart, it is a literal disaster. As someone who works in costumer service (and has been a cashier), I tend to be completely shocked by how terribly the workers treat me. How they still have customers is beyond me. Even when I speak with managers, barely even a smile. They don't care, they don't cater to their customers the way they should and after my experience today (which included two(!) twenty minute waits in line, and a cashier treating me like I have two brain cells) I probably will never go back. I have been coming to this Walmart for years. Kind of nice that it is still a little small and not a huge Walmart city. Tonight there was 1 checker...on a Saturday night, and it was 10 items or less. So you are forced to use self checkout. I don't work for Walmart, so I don't like checking myself out while two idiots stand around and the a third asks to check my receipt. When I get home I realize that I got the wrong printer ink. I go back to the store and customer service was closed at 8pm. I got here at 8:03...ok I get it. One lady said a cashier could help me since I was just exchanging it for the right one. No luck. I was told I have to come back another day when CS is open. Moving in the future I am making an effort to no longer shop at this Walmart as much as possible. I will get my things somewhere else. Customer Service is lost here. There are like 30 workers walking around the store, but not sure what they are doing. I just spent $206 on items for my son to move into his 1st apartment at ASU. I went through self check out, which I totally hate, but I will save that rant for another day. Because I had large items (bath mats, 5X7" area rug, mattress pad, I did not/was unable to bag most of the items, but instead put them inside of a large kitchen garbage can that I also purchased. At the door, the small Asian receipt checker insisted on checking out all of the items. I dumped out the garbage can into the shopping cart. so she could see all of the items. She then told me that "you don't have to get mad about it, I am just doing my job". While I understand that, I do not appreciate the assumption made by her/Walmart that I was a shop lifter. I have NEVER solen anything in my life. If you are going to stop me at the door and check my receipt because you think that I might be a dishonest person, then why don't you do away with the self check out stations and bring back more cashiers so that my items would have been delt with in a way that did not require me to stop at the door for my purchases to be verified by the gestapo! I stopped shopping at Walmart years ago due to the poor wages that they paid their employees, but went today because the store is close to my house and I did not want to drive out to Target. Called for an appointment, was scheduled next day Sunday to receive wash, feather trimming and blow dry for my African American hair texture. I am very pleased on completion the hair cut was what I wanted and the stylist, Quintin had a pleasant personality.
