This is probably the worst of the local Walmart stores for customer service. Do not buy anything at this location if it is possible you may need to return that item in the future. I came here three times in a week to return a defective item and every time the customer service center was closed due to their registers being broken. You cannot return items at a normal checkout register so if customer service is closed you are out of luck. But what are the chances that on three different days of the week at different hours of the day that customer service is closed? It probably means it was closed a lot more than just 3 of the 7 days of the week. The management at this store is completely inept and I have experienced other customer service problems at this store as well. Even though this store is closest to where I live, I prefer to buy elsewhere. read more

During a statewide emergency, they has law enforcement officers state for them "that they are closed" , despite being fully functional and operational grocery store, while many others are not. This company like many other companies are allowing their insurance liabilities to dictate how they should operate until they receive federal or state aid, regardless of being a $650 billion appraised company. 24/7 to 18/7 to 12/6 to "nah we don't care; old executives are cashing out". I hope they do all close. The CEO promised they would die to theft, but also doesn't want to reformat his own store system to be secure because that would cost him money. I don't have a local store community anymore. In place of that. I have a convenient warehouse where everything I need should be and when it should be is always available. After promising this insurmountable amount of convenience, they tell me "sorry it's unavailable because of profit and loss" on be half of the company. "Too big to fail", but this time the ship is on land but the end is still dragging the rest of use down. This company especially in this state needs to be reviewed by a federal regulator agency. read more

This is our local Wal-Mart store. I estimate we spend $8-$10K there annually. As of today, I'm doing my grocery shopping somewhere else. I'll pay a little more. I don't care. As of this date, the store is in the last stages of a remodel. As part of the remodel, they installed these new self-checkout scanners. These scanners are GARBAGE. They should all be returned to wherever they got them. Tonight, for the second time, it took me a full 10 minutes to scan 4 produce items. I finally had to put one of them back and forget it, rather than waste any more of my time trying to scan a number in. The screen was completely unresponsive, and there was no one around to help. So I'm done -- at least until new scanners that actually work are put in. It was bad enough when we were made to scan our own items, but most of us accepted it as inevitable. But if I'm going to be made to do that, I expect to at least have technology at my disposal that doesn't continually frustrate me. I have other grocery options. I'll use them, at least until this Wal-Mart gets its act together. read more

I went to return some coffee because of the way it made my roommate and I feel they said if I didn't have the receipt I couldn't exchange it and of course I didn't have the receipt I wasn't planning on returning the same coffee I usually get but they were out of the same kind and I didn't want that kind I assume it was off the same assembly line so I wanted a different kind and they said I couldn't do that so I got the same kind but a different flavor and that's all they had left. I waited on the manager forever as she serviced every other customer that came up and made me wait for 20 minutes just to tell me she couldn't do it. It's a big box. It has lower prices. It has a pretty good selection of many many items. Customer service has improved in the past few years. Today I went in to return some curtains and a cold brew coffee maker. The curtains were no problem. Because I use "Walmart pay" this particular purchase was immediately accepted and credited and the total returned to my credit card. The coffee maker was a problem of my own causing. I was told that because it was over 90 days since I bought it, it couldn't be returned. I was not aware of this policy, but it's posted and I obviously ignored it. Perhaps I'll learn to like cold brew?? During my time in line a supervisor came to the area and noticed a cart that had been left by an employee and was full of trash and cardboard. She began to question which employee was the perp and then began complaining and muttering about the remiss employee. Not good, Madam Manager. Keep those thoughts to yourself and make the comments quietly to the guilty party. Very unprofessional and I didn't enjoy listening to you go in and on! But on a brighter note. I stopped a man stocking shelves to ask where I might find an item. As he was standing to take me to the correct area, a young man named Ryan happened by, said"I'll show her," took me over a few aisles and showed me the stock. He went on to tell me where there were similar items in another part of the store if the current item wasn't what I wanted. Ryan KNEW his merchandise and I truly appreciated his dedication to helping a customer. read more

Hmmmmm. So I visited this walmart as its open 24/7. The one I usually frequent isn't. Ahhhhhh exhaling. I would like the walmart I usually visit to be open all night because this one had 1 associate who went out of her way to be helpful.. one... one out of several. I'm not sure where customer service has gone these days but I continue to wonder why me as the customer am being pleasant but the people getting paid to help customers frown, stare at you with this dry look and don't speak no matter how many times you walk past the same ones and you are smiling and saying hi or pardon me and they don't speak and they don't care if they are in your way but you care if you are in theirs and you care if you speak. They don't speak or say pardon me or anything unless they recognize you / know you. Why are people this way? I don't understand. The one near my house has associates who are pleasant and assist you with a good attitude. I asked two associates if I could get help with a heavy item on the top shelf. It weighs about 25lbs on a 7ft shelf, I kinda needed assistance. The guy looked aggravated for me asking and pawns it off to the girl. The girl looks at the ladder and asks me if I think that ladder would work for what I needed as she was still walking the opposite direction. So I say, you want ME to use the ladder? I don't work here. She giggled and grabbed the ladder and brought it over to the aisle. ??What?? ¿¿Por qué?? And others couldn't be bothered as they had ear buds in their ears, others rushing all around you and nearly missing tripping over you cause they are trying to hurry up to do their job and you are in their way as you are trying to shop. Dang I thought coming at 3am would be THE opportune time for me to shop peacefully but I was wrong. I could go on with more examples in just this one visit but its going to frustrate me. I will say their produce is no bueno as far as selection and freshness. Slim pickings. Their meat case was stocked well though. Also, they had a lot more items in houseware than the other walmart that I go to. A half star is for that 1 associate I mentioned in the first paragraph who left where she was to come over and help me without me asking or even knowing where she came from to begin with plus she was super friendly about it. At that point though I was self sufficient and wasn't asking anyone else for anything and I no longer had a smile. But her coming over recovered the smile but not my impression of this store when I've seen something to compare it to. So I know there is no excuse for this. The other half is due to this place having a lot of selection and variety as far as whats in stock. The sad part is I have to come back here. Next time its an audio book in my ears and horse blinders on. Visits have been much better. read more

I have finally had my fill of this Walmart location. Every time I shop here, I think my experience will be different and positive and every time, I'm disappointed. My most recent two trips put the final nails in the coffin: On Friday night (10/06) at 7PM, I tried to get my basic grocery needs. When it was time to hit the check out lines, there were literally 40+ customers waiting in line and only 4 cashier lanes open. Seriously?!?! No cashier EVER at this Walmart has ever moved with a sense of purpose. What an absolute waste of time. On Sunday morning (10/08) around 9AM, I was stuck changing my truck battery in the parking lot. After my battery was changed, I took my old battery to customer service to turn it in and get my $5 core charge back. After waiting at Customer Service for 5 minutes, someone randomly showed up and told me I had to take it to the Auto Repair area. Frustrated, I went to the auto repair area and waited.....and waited.....and waited.....and waited. After 15 minutes of waiting, not a single employee was there. Looks like I'll have to return to this soul-sucking place on another date to turn in my battery since I had better things to do with my time. After I return my car battery, I'm done with this Walmart. I'm done with Woodruff Road to begin with and now I don't have a reason to go there anymore. Went in to cash a check and of course they weren't there so went back the next day still wasn't there so walked over to customer support and that is when this store went from a 4 star to a 1. Walked up asked if they could cash it and the one female employee said yes and handed a pen to sign the back and then starred at me with this nasty look and said I can't cash this now with the date on the back. Just kept starring this nasty look for seconds like I was a F**k up. If you're gonna work in customer service maybe be better at working with people. Wish I got her name so I could call up there. Pandemic Safety Concerns.... An associate came down a very narrow isle in the personal care area near the pharmacy and was coughing really bad. My husband and I were very concerned, as we quickly left the isle my carriage nipped the end cap sending items to the floor. We both apologized and the associate called for a clean up and told us to have a good day, but she didn't look well and was still coughing. A lot of the cashiers and associates are only covering their mouth and not their nose, and some workers are wearing their masks below the chin. My heart goes out.... I understand the days are long and people are tired but this is not a time to fall short. There is a "GREAT NEED" for Management to step up! No Exceptions..... read more

I bought Walmart's lifetime wheel balance and rotation for my truck as the shop that installed the tires before I bought it isn't convenient. When I bought the truck I had the owner replace all lug nuts as they'd been previously damaged. The first time Walmart balanced and rotated everything went well. This time they destroyed every one of the OEM lug nuts damaging two chrome wheels in the process. When I calmly pointed this out to the manager he argued with me denying the damage. It's pretty simple, when you use the properly sized socket, the two piece lug nuts are not damaged. When you're too lazy to do so, you shred the outer chrome overlay. I agree the OEM design is bad but I'm not sure how the nation's largest big box store hasn't figured this out on the nation's most sold pickup truck. Cost me over $100 in lug nuts and two permanently ugly wheels. read more

Since Walmart is out of my vision insurance's network, he told me how to easily file my insurance claim and gave me all the paperwork neatly organized to ensure that I would not have any issues. Sadly, this is the best Walmart in the Greenville area. Reason being, it's the cleanest and largest. It is consistently average, at least I can say that. I know what to expect, it's there, and there is a wide choice. This summer they had a funnel cake truck out front in the parking lot. Just what we need - more overweight people at WM. I like it when the Girl Scouts are out in force selling the cookies. That starts in February. There is a good optometrist there. I've got my glasses filled there a few times. I think they're remodeling because the new bank/customer service center looks MUCH better and easier to manage a large crowd. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. To add to this there is lots of solicitation within the store having been accosted by sa member of some strange church or the other. And I am not sure if she cares if management knows about it! 3 weeks ago she sat while ringing the customers up. She made no eye contact and did not bother to greet the customers. She did not even give the total it was up to the customer to figure it out. She would give the receipt and say under her voice... Have a good day. Today, she was no different she stood this time. STILL THE BOSS! Yes, I know it's just a Walmart! However, if you are visiting the area, it is a great place to go and get those "forgotten" items or to grab water, fruit and other necessities. I love to stock up on additional food items because there are times that we are pressed for time and just need to grab something in a hurry. We are able to grab a quick snack to quiet our hunger before hitting the road. This store is very conveniently located and last night we were able to get in and out with no problem. This location is straight trash! Every time I go here the aisles are never merchandised and it takes an act of GOD to check out. I have never understood the concept of multiple lanes and only one or two associates manning a register. Then Walmart installed self checkout! Fantastic! I am that shopper that will never ask an associate for anything as I can get it myself, answer my own questions, and check out myself. At this location they don't even want you to check out on your own. The self checkouts on the Garden Center side were completely closed with only one or two lanes manned by actual people in the middle. These lanes were over run with shoppers trying to check out to the point that the line stretched across the action alley and into apparel. The only other self check out was so overrun with customers that it too stretched across the main aisle running the length of the building and into apparel as well. It is an absolute joke and very frustrating! I worked retail for fifteen years so I know that nothing will be done by Walmart as they will continue to spread their staff thin and upset customers because they do not care about anything but the dollar.
