I stop by here often. No problems except at times, the self checkout lines tend to be long. Groceries are well stocked and the shampoos and vitamins are also available for what I need. I do not like to go to Walmart, and it's only a few times per year I'll go and only for convenience. Today, I wanted to pick up something sweet for my wife and I. Her sweet tooth was really nagging her. I went in and grabbed a small Italian cream cake. It was $13 but worth it. Tye probable and reason for three stars is waiting to check out. The self checkout was backed up, and I don't like doing that anyway. There were three registers open, and each of course had a line. It took more than 15 minutes to get checked out for one item. They have started limiting all self-checkouts to 15 items or less. With more items, you have to stand in line for a real cashier, which are staffed at maybe at half of the registers. The shopping experience here was already a challenge, but prepare yourself. read more

I recently moved to the area and visit Hillsborough Walmart on a weekly basis. I have purchased many household goods, groceries, and pet supplies. My shopping experience has been very positive. Their prices are great, the store is clean. The checkout registers are well staffed, unlike many other Walmart stores. I am happy to have this option for most of my shopping needs. The Pharmacy is well staffed. I have had several prescriptions called in from Urgent Care and they were always ready when I arrived and the staff wait on you immediately. I have not had this experience at other Walmarts. read more

This Walmart is absolutely horrible. Almost every other one of my delivery orders get "delayed" which really means they just never show up. I pay for a Walmart plus membership and get almost nothing for it. Not to mention they won't ever answer the phone when you try to call and inquire about your order. I was in need of ordering a birthday cake and called this Walmart for 3 hours. I at that point pressed all options and a nice young lady answered in electronics. The Deli and Customer Service NEVER NEVER answered!!!!!!! The lady in electronics did try to help, however she wasn't able to. She can't help that others do not want to do their job. Auto center is a complete joke and mess!! The attendant is ignorant and does not how to prioritize the customer load.....I was second in line to get 1 tire put on and the attendant bypassed me several times for people who got here much later than I did. Quality control is nonexistent ....long story short I left that shithole and went to a real tire store and it was done within 7 mins of me getting there. Well, online said this location didn't have the item I wanted. I ordered it from another location. So I drove to an even further location to pick up the item I ordered. That location didn't have in stock what I'd ordered. I came by here, since it was on my way home, and they just so happened to have the item I wanted. Unfortunately they're inventory management system blows. I had to pay for my item again here, then go online and cancel my order. Basically I'm carrying the cost of two items while they have one of the two items in their inventory. I'm paying their carrying costs. So if you have an in store pick up that you've ordered online, call first and verify they've actually "truly" completed your order. read more

Ordered 6 storage totes online. 5 days after promised arrival, received one. Was told to cancel order for remaining 5 and reorder. This time the price was about $2 more for each item. Was promised a promo code for "good relations" discount. Never received it. Still a good price though, so went ahead and reordered remaining 5. Two days after promised arrival, received 3, with promise that remaining 2 will be coming two days from now. Should I believe that? Nope. But maybe I'll get back here with a follow up on what transpires. I've never liked Walmart and never trusted their policies. I don't understand why they are so popular. Price is NOT a reason to replace good reliable service which is why I'll probably never place another online order with Walmart again. Wayfair.com is another one I'll avoid as well. Worst pharmacy I've ever been to. Worst customer service. No empathy at all. Always a 90 min wait. Even after they quote you a shorter time. It's worth driving anywhere else. It's been like this for years. Only there recently when my doctor accidentally sent my little girls script to them. As far as the rest of the store. Have fun standing in one of the two lines open. I recently purchased a Vizio soundbar from this Walmart. I ordered it from the store for curbside pickup. A few weeks later the price decreased. I went to the store for a price adjustment. The customer service desk was closed due to staffing issues. I went home and called the electronic department. Found out customer service was closed due to Covid and they didn't know when it would reopen. The person also told me for a price adjustment I would need to bring the soundbar back in the box. I said why? I'm not returning it. I just want a price adjustment. They said store policy. I called corporate and had the price adjustment taken care of on the phone. The next day someone from the Hillsborough Walmart called saying they were canceling the price adjustment because I bought it online and did curbside pickup. If I had come into the store and purchased the soundbar there wouldn't have been a problem. That's insane. I called corporate back and was told the price adjustment has been issued by corporate and the store cannot cancel it. I will not be shopping here again. Too many other places to shop up. I would rather pay more and have less headaches. read more

This store is a criminal enterprise. In December of 2018 I ordered a bicycle online for pickup at the Walmart NC. I changed my mind, decided not to complete the purchase, and was informed that if I did not pickup the bicycle that my credit card would be refunded. But apparently someone unrelated to me in any way picked up the bicycle on December 24, 2018. This should not have even been possible because the person who picked up the bicycle would have has to show the Walmart employee their identification and credit card. This means a Walmart employee stole the bicycle by picking it up themselves. I called the store, and my wife also called the store, and both of us were told that my credit card would be refunded. That was almost 6 months ago and still no refund has been received. DO NOT place an online order with Walmart with pickup at the store in Hillsborough NC because the people who work there will steal the item that you paid for. read more

It's Walmart...they aren't exactly known for quality service. Never enough registers open but they won't hire new cashiers. But I'm actually rating this a 3 because they never stock new products. The cosmetic aisle is never restocked or with new displays there were supposed to be put out months ago. Same for the craft aisle and sometimes the video game section. Also, a bunch of things on the website are not available in store so you can use the site-to-store option but I haven't tried it yet because I've been to customer service a few times and they aren't the friendliest people. Pharmacy is great but a little slow. The drop-off section receptionist is sometimes impatient. It takes a bit of time depending on the line. Photo section is decent...the DIY computers work great but when it comes time to pay at the photo center there usually isn't anyone there...ever. There's a pin pad you can push for service but who knows how long it will take. As for 1-hour photo, I order online and they email me when they are ready for pick-up. Most of the time they can't find my order and I have to describe what they were. I have also tried the home delivery option but it takes roughly a week to two weeks for delivery. Also, home delivery is the only way to get glossy instead of matte photos, but I always get matte anyway. Grocery section is fine, cheap prices for food but I NEVER buy my meat here unless I truly do not feel like going elsewhere for it. It's all prepackaged. I don't shop in the other sections enough to report on them but I'm sure they are decent. read more

I love the variety in walmart and the prices. The plus size section has horrible taste and horrible selection. The plus size section is very small. The clothing in that section looks like grandma clothing. The pharmacy is so slow and takes way too long. The return counter runs like the speed of a snail. Never enough checkout register's open...EVER!!! There are 23, yet only 4 or 5 open. ALOT OF REALLY SLOW CASHIERS, and the 20 ITEM OR LESS, SPEEDY EXPRESS CHECKOUT LANES have really slow people working them, and a manager will tell people it is OK to violate the POSTED SIGN and ring up FULL BUGGY CUSTOMER'S and ignore the ones with three or four items. read more

For the auto service center I have been twice. The first time one employee was helpful and knowledgeable. This experience made me go back for an oil change. The incredibly slow speed at which this was performed will keep me from any other visits. My only guess is that the guys working that day were having a competition on who could do the least amount of work that day. read more

I would have given more stars prior to this evening, but . . . My husband, two younger children (19 and 21 - college students home on break) just got home from what started out as a quick trip to the Hillsborough Walmart to pick up a few groceries. As we were waiting in the checkout line, our son went to use the restroom nearby. As he was waiting outside a stall for the occupant to leave, he was approached by a middle aged man who was obviously disturbed. We decided eventually that he must have been on drugs, since his eyes were very bloodshot and he didn't seem rational -? Anyway, once outside the restroom, he begin yelling at my son and calling him a pervert, for waiting for the privacy of a stall - he was cursing and insisting that "something' wrong with him," meaning our son. We asked the cashier to call someone, which she did, and he escorted the man out of the store, but not before he threatened to beat up my son and my husband, who had stepped up to try and diffuse the situation. This is not the first time we've encountered a problem at this store. The time before, when just my daughter and I were shopping, a man about her age started to follow us around and kept trying to interact with her in spite of being asked nicely to leave us alone. This became disconcerting to the point that we asked to speak with a manager. Being verbally harassed and threatened with bodily harm is NOT ok, especially not when we are there to spend our hard-earned money with Walmart. We are going to have a conversation with the store manager in the morning, and I may or may not continue to be a Walmart customer, depending on his response. At this point, I honestly don't feel safe shopping there either alone, or with someone I care about. The management, in my opinion, need security personnel stationed at the store's entrances to a) prevent any obviously drugged out, unstable would-be customers from entering, and b) to restrain those who behave threateningly and/or inappropriately toward their paying customers!!! Certainly not going back anytime soon, if ever. read more

I've been on hold for 15 minutes waiting for the person who answered the phone to let me know if they have a particular vaporizer in stock. Obviously she's blown me off. This used to be my favorite area Walmart, but service is declining so it's no longer worth the extra drive. Also the phone number currently on Yelp is for the pharmacy, not the main store line (as of January 13, 2015); this is on the new Yelp page, the old one has the main store number. Also, as I was writing this, someone came on the line and asked if I had been helped yet. A third person is now checking the item for me. Since they did come back, I've raised the rating one star. Well the extra star may need to be removed...I was transferred to electronics when I let the 3rd person know it would be on the shelves near pharmacy!
