I really like this Walmart store. The pharmacy people are super nice and the store cashiers are very nice too. The store greeter is a sweetheart. The store is always clean when I go in and the shoppers super friendly. The young man in the grocery deliver is a sweetheart too. I like all the In Home Delivery people. Really do a great job for me. This store is so horrible for the disabled and elderly. I have been waiting for a mobile cart for over an hour. Every cart is either in use or so dead they are unable to be used. Several people have been forced to wait for long periods for one or leave. This is horrible I have had back surgery and need knee surgery and unable to walk more than 20 to 30 feet without needing to rest due to my injuries. I gave up a cart for an elder woman that needed one and the cart was at 15%. This store NEEDS MORE MOBILE CARTS PERIOD. I can't believe how horrible this store is. Their customer service is deplorable as well. A woman just kicked out an unhoused man because he had a dog. I understand, however the dog was strapped in a bag unable to get out so there was no problem with him getting loose. Also, she was horribly RUDE to him. If you can help it dont come here if have mobility issues or unhoused. They seem to NOT have the ability to accommodate either of them. read more

So I need to give a shout out to Brittany, in the Vision Center. My glasses had snapped in half and nothing I did to patch them to last, til I could get into a doctor, was working. I had called so many businesses as well as 2 OTHER Walmart Vision Centers before this one. Every single one including this location were so booked they could not squeeze me in for a quick eye exam and a contact lense fitting to get me by til I could get a new pair of glasses. However, Brittany came up with the brilliant idea to transplant my lenses into frames that were of a similar style, and she had time to do it. So I rush up and give her my shambled frames and she finds frames that would work for me. THANK YOU so much for taking the time to help me, Brittany, I would have had to wait til Wednesday or Thursday and because of you I did not have to do that! This is a shout out to Joseph at the Independence location store #01014 on Bolger Road. On 12/17/2022 at 2:30 I was in line to check out. There were 2 different ladies that had some problems with their card for payment. Joseph needed a manager to finish the transaction. Under pressure with people waiting, Joseph remained calm and unshaken. He finished all transaction with ease and remained smiling. My turn came and he was friendly and professional. This place has nothing on my local Walmart back in Fredonia/Dunkirk New York - I was actually quite impressed. However, the woman at the register - was the absolute slowest I have EVER had to deal with and I've dealt with a lot of cashiers. They did have a nice clearance area - great selection and I was able to find everything I wanted, but they need better training for the cashiers up front. read more

I used to purchase rotisserie chicken from Walmart on a regular basis. Like I mean real regular. Probably three times a week for years and years. When I moved to Kansas City I was glad to see that the local Walmart to me which is the independence location near the mall sells rotisserie chickens. But that luck turns to bad luck quickly because it seemed like the rotisserie chickens were never sitting out ready to go and usually work stream Lee dry as if they had been a very overcooked. IT GETS WORSE!! I purchased a rotisserie chicken as usual and went home to eat my dinner. I eat lunch/dinner at about 2 because I only eat once a day and since I only eat once a day it's easy to narrow down where my food poisoning came from. Yep.. Contaminated. After eating my chicken at 2 and finishing my day of work I was on my way back home and starting to feel weird in my stomach kind of like I was getting sick. By 8 or 9 p.m. I began to vomit and other things that I won't mention in good conversation. This lasted for our about a day and a half. It was probably the worst sick I've ever been in my life. I went to the hospital and was put on IVs cuz I was so dehydrated. It was ruled food poisoning. It cost me thousands of dollars in medical bills. Since then I can no longer stand to eat chicken. After mentioning this to a girl who works at Walmart she laughed and said that's not surprising at all. The people who work back there are extremely unqualified and most of them don't change their gloves after handling raw chicken and then pulling the chicken out that's completed and cooked. She also went on to say that she has seen people measure the temperature of the smallest chicken in the rotisserie and determined that it was just good enough and then not even consider measuring the temperature on chickens much larger near it. One has to wonder how many people this Walmart has killed. read more

The shelves were very organized and it was easy to locate exactly what I needed. Every associate we came across was friendly and helpful. The lines were not long. They have a nursing room which makes breastfeeding and diaper changes very easy and comfortable. read more

Currently standing in the store waiting to put something on layaway. A sign says open daily 10am to 7pm. There is no one back here. I had to call the store. They had to send someone back. I HATE this Walmart. I honestly don't recall having one good experience here. I used the site-to-store option. I picked my item up and immediately walked directly to the customer service counter. I had ordered the wrong color and needed to return it. I waited for about 10 minutes before someone finally came over to help. Instead of doing a refund she accidentally scanned it as a purchase. She realized her mistake instantly but couldn't figure out how to void it. She called for a manager. I'm not exaggerating in the least by saying I waited about a half hour until they finally got the assistant manager there. She seemed to be in a horrible mood and not once did she make eye contact with me. I didn't get an apology for the wait or even a greeting for that matter. She never said a word to me. Another time I was in there with my husband, 10 year old daughter, & 4 year old nephew getting groceries. It was chaotic and loud, but we fully anticipated that. Our area was about to get a snow storm. We were in the coffee aisle (along with several people), where there were two guys who were Walmart employees stocking shelves. One of the men was aggravated at what we assumed was the crowdedness. He put what he had in his hands on the ground and loudly said to the other employee "F*** it, I quit".... Then walked out. I was shocked and told the kids to never say that, then told them I was sorry they had to hear that. The last and final time I was in there was last week. We just had to pick something up quickly then we would be on our way. We were through the check out when my daughter had to use the restroom, they're near the registers also but was in the middle from where we were. There was a cleaning lady headed towards us that too was on her way to the bathroom with the cleaning cart. She got there before us and blocked the doorway and told us it was closed and we could use the one located in the back of the store. It wouldn't have hurt anything and she seen us rushing there. No compassion for a child that you could clearly tell had to use the bathroom badly. That was the final straw. We the customers should be treated with respect. Even though this Walmart is the closest location to my home, my family and I will never step foot inside again. We'll drive past it to go to Target, or even another 10 minutes at a different Walmart. read more

The area is trash which is not their fault but the employees are overall rude, the shelves are usually not stocked, and all the lanes are closed besides maybe 2 meaning the lines extend out into the walkway and block the path of anyone trying to shop. TERRIBLE service. My fiancé and I went in to buy a mini fridge we asked an employee to help us get the mini fridge down from the top shelf. She told us that she'd send someone over to help 15 minutes go by and nobody has came. We ended up managing to get he fridge down and into the cart ourselves, we then went to go check out and as we were walking out the door a lady stop us and says "I need to check your receipt" so we showed her the receipt. But keep in mind she didn't check anyone's receipts that walked out before us and didn't check anyone's receipt that walked out behind us. I called to complain to the manager and waited on hold for 20 minutes and just said screw it. read more

Hate going to this walmart. I can pick out the employees to avoid because of their snarky remarks or rude attitude. Their fish tanks need to be taken out. They probably spend more money on them than they make. And this is probably why they are so terribly taken care of. I bought 12 fish from there, all of them died after they replaced the first 3 I refused to exchange them anymore and asked for a refund because they kept dying. I went next door to pets mart and yet to have an issue with our fish. Most recently I was just looking at their tanks and noticed that each tank had multiple dead fish and snails floating around and stuck against the filter. Each tank had at least 5 dead fish. On top of that they had way too many fish per tank. Absolutely ridiculous read more

This store is the worst Walmart ever. I have been going there simply because it is so close to my home but, today was the last time. The pharmacy has some of the rudest people working there that you can ever imagine. The woman at the drop off window acts like you are completely putting her out by being there to get a prescription filled. There is no such thing as customer service in this store and if you have a question about a product or where something is, you have to literally hunt for someone or the employee that you ask will say they have no idea and not even offer to find someone that knows. My mother who at the young age of 58 is pretty good at doing for herself. She can change a flat tire to a spare if need be. But on this day she had a flat and was near Walmart so she thought she would just go in and get her tire needs taken care of. She waited 4 hours...4 hours on a Sunday afternoon to receive the help she needed. She literally saw the workers all taking breaks together to watch the Chiefs game. Now I love the Chiefs just as much as the next Kansas City native but, they were being paid to help customers. My mother stated that several customers got fed up and left and I know how much Walmart loves it's money so I assume they also hate losing money, especially when it is due to customer neglect over a football game. The messed up part of the entire matter is that once the game went off they looked at the tire and said they could not help her because it looked to be a manufacture defect and she had gotten the tires for her Mercedes at Firestone. This process of identifying this defect took literally 10 minutes. My mom left the store and then changed the tire in the parking lot of Walmart and not one Auto employee apologized for the wait or offered to help her put on the spare tire. This is the most disrespectful thing I have ever heard from an establishment. I won't even pass a woman on the side of the road with a flat tire without asking if they need help, but I guess I was raised differently than ALL of the employees in the Walmart auto department on Sunday 11/04/16.
