1 Star - Serious Food Safety Concern On Saturday at approximately 10:30 a.m., my wife and I were shopping at the Walmart on Southern Avenue in Mesa, Arizona when we noticed a very strong, unusual odor coming from the baking aisle. As we tried to determine where the smell was coming from, we found several bags of brown sugar that appeared to have visible rodent droppings and urine on the outside of the packaging. The odor was overwhelming, and we observed what appeared to be contamination on multiple packages, not just one. We immediately stopped shopping, abandoned our cart and groceries, washed our hands thoroughly, and left the store because we were concerned about potential contamination. This was one of the most disturbing experiences I've ever had while grocery shopping. I hope Walmart takes this seriously by removing any affected products, thoroughly inspecting the baking aisle, and addressing the source of the contamination before anyone else is exposed. I'm sharing this because food safety should always be a top priority. I hope management investigates promptly and is transparent with customers about the outcome. read more

Order was over 700$, they had almost every item but the ones they didn't I received no charge I believe, and other that can be shipped will be shipped to my house same week. Checked in when in route and checked in when I parked, the helper came out less than 5min later. He helped me put everything in the car or I helped him idk.. ha was my first time using pick up.. and I can tell you single mom with three kids def was so much easier picking up. Came to this Walmart after calling ahead for a specific item. The operator took the time to check and confirmed it was there and where to find it. So I drove over and picked it up along with other things. All good! When I got to the checkout Jaron noticed a lid was broken and he RAN back to replace it for me so I could still get it. And then he noticed I had an item that was less expensive packaged right off the counter so he swapped it out. Seriously thoughtful and so gracious. The best part? I was tired and had dirty hair and was using disabled cart because my hip was hurting. So he did all this out of the goodness in his heart for someone less fortunate. On Saturday night, I went to the pharmacy to get some Claritin D. I suffer from severe allergies and am dependent on it. I arrived about an hour before they closed and gave the tech, Laura, my ID to scan, as is required for allergy meds that have pseudoephedrine in them. After scanning my license I had just cash to pay. The thing is, as I was informed by the floating pharmacist, Preston, they removed the cash tills and I was unable to pay with cash. I was not informed of this until my license was scanned. Preston assured me that I'd be able to fill them anyway, as I didn't pay, which I knew was false. I told them I would go to the 24 hour Walgreens on Greenfield to see if that was true and if not, I would be filing a review like this and making a complaint to the store manager, which I intend to do on Wednesday. Well, because Laura and Preston had my license scanned, I cannot get Claritin for another 2 weeks. I even went back to this location earlier today, as both Laura and Preston assured me that if there were issues, they were witnesses and could rectify the situation today. Of course, neither were working at the Pharmacy when I tried to get the meds I need. Bottom line is that Preston and Laura are full of crap. Because of their complete incompetence, I will be severely suffering from allergies for the next 2 weeks, unless I can get a friend to purchase some for me. Poor customer service plus lying to said customers is unacceptable. Laura, in my opinion, was doing her best to balance things, but Preston has absolutely no business being a pharmacist, let alone in healthcare period. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I am having the worst experience picking up my pickup order from Walmart. The pick up area is under construction and there are no signs telling you where to go. I called and the people are rude and could not give decent directions on where I should go. When I finally found the right area, I still had the lady on the phone so I asked her to check me in. This location has poor management. They should pay better attention to how they treat their employees. It is sad to see people in management positions that use them to make power plays on people... Not even caring how it affects those people's lives. I think higher management needs to take notice. It is sad that nothing gets done when a minimum wage employee asks for help about something and they just get sent to someone else and then to someone else and nothing is ever done and then BAM that little minimum wage employee asking for help suddenly gets fired for nothing. They have a GIANT book section at the back of the store and they are one of the few Arizona Walmarts that sell real guns still. Customer service was terrible when trying to return something. The blonde manager was so rude to an older man trying to exchange a tv. She seemed impatient and very snappy when responding to him. Then when my husband and I tried to return a bike, the other woman assisting us was completely clueless because it didn't have the price tag on the bike, but it had the numbers on it along with the manual and receipt. She called someone over to help and he said they don't carry bikes with reflectors... umm all the bikes they have include reflectors. This Walmart seems to still practice racial conduct. I went in to return an air compressor for $40 in it's original package, undamaged, and in resellable condition. Keep in mind I was under 30 days and had my receipt. Went to customer service and was "helped" by a Caucasian staff member who didn't greet me but carried on a conversation with his coworkers. He went on with the return not at least making eye contact to acknowledge my existence. He then looked up and asked for my debit card. I confronted him that I didn't have it and he said "I would need the debit card or I can't complete the return." I challenged him and asked him why it wasn't being honored if I had the product and receipt. He was persistent with his original statement where he didn't apologize for the inconvenience. I later asked for a Manager when another Caucasian male who was a Supervisor arrived and reiterated the "policy" which was not enforced on my girlfriend when she had returned products; without being asked for her debit card at the same store. He eventually honored the return after clearly showing they are bias and racist. Of course this all could have been avoided if he they treated me, as a Hispanic male, the same way they treated my Asian girlfriend. I chose this Walmart because it's close to my house. It's a typical Walmart, the store itself is clean, and most of the employees are friendly. I'm not a fan of the quality of their produce at this location, but since I didn't want to have to make a separate trip to the grocery store, I picked through the peppers to find some that were firm and crisp, not soft and wrinkly. I will be back to this location as its close to my house, but I prefer a Walmart a few miles away for food items. read more

During snowbird season you can expect long lines and crowded parking lots. This store is located near several retirement neighborhoods.
