I understand the shortage of supplies and items for food and essential needs. However, I don't think it is right to put out and sell expired items (from 2 years ago). I went to the store yesterday (3/23/20) and purchased numerous items, one of which was tilamook pepper jack cheese. I opened the pack this morning and noticed it was easily crumbled and fell apart. I took a look at the packaging and noticed the expiration date said September 19 of 2018. Before employees stock up the shelves they should look at the expiration date of the item. Holy buttcrack, batman! This place has to be a joke. It must be a setup...some sort of sick and twisted prank that is being played. This place must exist just to see if people are willing to enter and buy stuff from Dante's third circle of Hell. Ok, yeah, it is Walmart...I mean, I can only expect so much. I have been to a few in my day, ranging from the thriving metropolis of McMinnville to the ATL to Moses Lake. You don't shop here expecting angels to be singing from crystal chandeliers, and I get that. But come on! Show some sort of pride here. This place just doesn't care. I admit, I normally don't shop at Walmart. However, this was the closest place to my hotel that had foodstuffs, so I went in to get some snacks for the evening before taking my CCIE exam. Simple, right? Go to the food section, get some sort of snacky-esque thingy, grab a couple of bottles of water, and you are on your way. Not so fast, Buckwheat... First, I am not a native to the SJC area, so I am a bit unfamiliar with the townsfolk. This place, however, must have some sort of beacon that shines for those who need a place to "take the family out for the evening." Whooooo doggie! And that same beacon must tell all the people who are about to embark on their journey towards Pampers, Doritos, and baby doll dresses that it is perfectly fine to simply throw things that you want to look at but not buy all over the store. Yeah, you just realized that you don't have the money for a Hot Pocket. Just put it by the toilet paper...someone will get it. Unfortunately, no one does get it later...or perhaps at all. Don't touch that, junior...I don't think that is supposed to be green. This is not a general dog on Walmart. I have been to many nicer, cleaner versions of the store. ONLINE ORDERING I placed an online order on 11/26, for pick up at the store. I received an email stating item should be ready for pick up on 12/03. I contacted WalMart customer service on 12/04 to inquire if I can pick up the item at the store as the tracking showed item had already been shipped to the store. I was told I could go to the store and they would get the item for me. I went to the store, waited 45 mins just to be told item cannot be picked up till I receive another email stating item is ready for pick up. The staff at the store were not willing to retrieve my item from the back of the store..."we have 10 pallets of orders in the back!" I left the store very frustrated. Weeks go by and still no pick up confirmation email. I called the store on 12/15 and spoke to a Manager "Crystal." She seemed clueless as to how to assist me, stated she will call me back soon. It's been days and no call back. I've called the store numerous times, nobody answers at times, or I'm put on hold forever till I have to hang up and try again. I contacted WalMart customer service on 12/17 and requested that a manager at corporate or from the store call me back. As of today 12/21, I've not heard from anyone. I will never place an online order with WalMart again. If I'd have ordered from Amazon, the item would have been at my doorstep within two days. Almost a month now since I placed my order and I have no idea when I'll be able to pick it up from the store. Nobody at WalMart seems to care or take the initiative to resolve this issue. I'm confused. And no need to be rude about it. But that's not the good part.. Was is hurry and needed syrup for work. Asked 2 employees where I could find it and they both told me is it was down one of the aisles and walked away? Whats poor customer service. The 3ed walmart employee i asked was the custodian, he was very nice but didn't know where the syrup was located. I placed an order through Walmart.com for the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Gold edition to be picked up here. However, only the regular edition came in. When I consulted a staff member about this, we went over to the games area to get some clarification. Then I met the rude, elderly Filipino gentleman. He kept trying to say things like "this is what you ordered, I don't know what's going on, I put it in correctly. I didn't do anything wrong, etc." He was cleary incompetent at his job and kept giving me a grumpy attitude to the point where another staff manager had to pull him aside and remove him from the situation. When we all looked at what was sent and what was actually ordered, the shipping center sent the incorrect item. They offered no resolution to the situation other than to simply reorder, to which I'd have to make a long drive again or pay the shipping cost for something that may or may not be the right item. This is just another example of the terrible customer experience this Walmart location embodies and I would suggest looking elsewhere. Oh, and if you want to add a little negativity to your day, have the elderly Filipino guy who works Sunday mornings help you. read more

Wow. First, I'm only forced to come here when Target is out of the puppy pads I purchase bi-weekly. Second, it's convenient when I have to go to Petsmart, which is closest to me - and puppy pads at Petsmart cost an arm and a leg. But honestly, sometimes I feel like I should just spend the extra $5.00 at Petsmart for the same amount of puppy pads I'd get at Walmart just to avoid the RUDE Customer Service Employees (Cashiers, Staff on floor, etc.). This place feels like a freakin' Third World country with how ALL the cashiers yell out at eachother in whatever dialect they're speaking in. Several of them yell as in they're literally in the middle of Tarzan's jungle trying to communicate. It's horrible. I'd rather waste the gas and drive all the way to the Fremont Walmart too, where I've been to just once, and their Customer Service and store in general is much more organized, clean, not so crowded - and you don't feel like you're living in a Third World... read more

If I could give this Wal Mart negitive stars I would. My experience was similar to CoresAndTones Z in San Francisco, CA. My father-in-law bought my battery for my car at Wal Mart 2 years prior (still under warranty) so we had to go to the Automotive department to get my battery replaced. Wal Mart will install your battery for free if you bring in your old battery. Mistakes: 1.) When I asked the employee for help to locate a Max 24FN battery he asked "Well didn't you use the computer?" My reply: "No I've never been here before, I know I need this battery but don't know where to locate it" him: "The computer says you need a Max 65N" me: "Well my other battery is the 24 so I'll go ahead and get this one." him: "Do you want me to ring this up?" me: "Well I need to have it installed as my last walmart battery is weak and needs to be replaced" him: "Oh you didn't say you needed it installed, you need a work order" me: "okay." **THAT WAS REALLY RUDE** 2.) His instructions were VERY vauge. I drove my car around and waited 15 minutes to even get my car in the shop. 3.) It took the tech 45 minutes to install the battery. Batteries should only take 10 minutes to replace. 4.) The tech parked our car, walked right past us without saying a word, left our key somewhere, and dissapeared through the store. 5.) The other technicians walked past us saying they were going to lunch and dissapered as well. So at this point there was no one in the automotive department. 6.) This is the worst part. There were 7 other people waiting in the automotive department because the cashier had dissapeared. We waited half an hour to pick up our car before someone showed up, another lady waited for 45 min, another 2 guys for half and hour, and a couple people needed services done. I went behind the counter and paged overhead for a cashier or manager before someone who didn't know what she was doing showed up. I know it wasn't her fault she wasn't trained in that department, but all of us were ticked off at this point. She didn't know how to give us the prorated price. Another lady was able to pay but the technician went to lunch with the keys in his pocket so she couldn't leave. The actual automotive employee finally showed up. Then he said I never told him it was an exchange for a battery. **YES I DID, YOU WEREN'T LISTENING TO ME** 7.) The put the Max 65N battery in my car, not the Max 24FN. The car worked just fine, but he didn't listen to me when I told him which battery to give us. Another note about the rest of the store: it's always dirty, smelly, & unorganized and hardly anyone can speak clear english. I hate this Wal Mart. read more

Ugh, the other major difference between Walmart & Target is that Walmart price matches local competitor ads. However, to get that done at this location takes a whole lot of patience, constant pointing, and a firm ground. I've seen the in local Nob Hill/Raley's ad that a certain brand of X item was selling for 3.99, no coupons, no percentages or anything, straight just 3.99, whereas Walmart was selling the same item for $5.25! Same goes for a can of Spam 1.99 vs 2.32.....(homemade spam musubi is soooo good!) I had to point out to the cashier twice that the item is indeed the same b/c the print underneath the item said 14 to 43.2 oz....yes what I picked up wasn't 14 oz, but it does fall in the category....but NO, had to get a customer service rep to figure it out...and to tell me the same thing. "Ma'am, what you have is not 14 ounces." "Yes, but the ad said 14 TO 43.2 ounces. " ....grumble and CSR walks back to check again. Finally, they agreed to let me purchase with price match but ONE ITEM EACH ONLY. WTF? I wasn't purchasing the entire inventory, only 2 items each...but I can only get 1? I thought the incentive for Walmart was to SAVE people money and get them to buy more via other items... Oh, and Internet coupons? I had a $4.00 off coupon for air freshener, all individually having a unique UPC code. Couldn't use it. Why? Because my OCD ass had to clip the coupon from the HUGE sheet of paper. They will NOT take the coupons unless you bring in the whole damn sheet. WTF? You kidding me????? So Walmart doesn't want you to save money and save the earth?! We had no beef with the very nice lady who checked us out. Seems she didnt want to follow corporate policy and follow local store's only....can't fault her for wanting to do her job. *sigh* Good thing Target took my internet coupons....HA! read more

If they tore this Wal-Mart down I'd maybe give them a 3 star review, depending entirely on how fast they are able to raze it to the ground. It's bad. Very bad. The crowd shopping here is quite diverse. You'll see anything from a Yugo to a new Cadillac in the parking lot. A parking lot which is dangerous and disorganized, but gargantuan in size. It stretches and wraps around like a deep-fried shell of asphalt. Inside, it smells like a sweat and urine mcchicken sandwich, and there are stains in some areas which resemble the excretions generated by a pack of wild boars in heat. I do that thing where I try not to breathe through my nose when I shop here. When it comes to shopping I've noticed that most of the products have damaged boxes, be it from being dropped or mishandled or alternatively water. The only item I've purchased from here is Pur water filters, because they had good prices on the 3-packs. But even these look like the box was soaked in a vat of lye and then left to dry in a dessert. Faded ink and odd creases. Luckily, the water filters are individually packaged in heavy mylar, otherwise I'd be going elsewhere. Lastly, and most importantly, DO NOT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD HERE. I once made this mistake and my credit card was compromised. I received a call from my credit card company and an investigation was made and it was traced back to the transaction I made at this store. That stuff is so very fun to clear up, isn't it? So if you must shop here and buy anything, I can't stress enough - use cash. But you might be better off just finding some place else to get your damaged goods. read more

This Walmart is currently under renovation. What's more to say then their prices are amazing but the stock can be suspect. Lately I do find that their shelves are better stocked with what I need, but that hasn't always been the case. I usually shop at Costco, but when I don't need a bulk size of something I come to this Walmart. Note the return/customer service desk has limited hours during the remodel. I think they close at 9pm, but call ahead to check if they are open. Also, their site-to-store pickup keeps on moving locations. At one point it was in the back of the store, then it was at the front. I have no idea where it is right now, but its best you ask around if you can find someone. Pro tip: If you are returning stuff, come early in the morning and there will be no lines. Even late at night this Walmart can be crowded. read more

The entire management staff should be fired here. They have self checkout and 17 registers up front. Long lines at self checkout due to the fact they opened only 3 registers out of 17. Lines were 20-25 deep. This is June 3rd not black friday. What makes things worst you have a few employees (walking around) who were too stuck up to open up a register because they are some sort of department head. I shopped for 20 minutes and waited for 45 minutes in line The 3 gals who were cashiering I applaud your hard work. The rest of your co-workers had their head up their asses. The good: Remodeled and better interior lighting. The bad: customer service line is staffed with 2- maybe lucky 3 but the lines are at least 20-30 minutes long. Don't bother trying to choose off-peak hours because they are only open during prime time hours. Next, try shopping here at nighttime. They forgot to out parking lots bc it's so dark. This review is for the Tire & Lube service. I came here for a standard oil change and that is exactly what I got. The reason for the three star rating is because unlike their laughably incompetent douche-scrote counterparts at the Union City location (except for the manager, who upon my previous bad experience offered me a complimentary oil change, which I thought was a very generous gesture although to be honest I would sooner give my mom a naked lap dance in the middle of Santana Row during farmer's market while eating a burrito from Iguana's - which SUCKS, by the way - before I ever went back there... but I digress), the staff at the Milpitas location actually seems to care about their customers. They work hard and go the extra mile. When I got to my car, they had even vacuumed it. Unless that is standard procedure and the Union City location just happens to be as lazy as they are negligent, I appreciated their attention to detail. It did take a little longer than I'd hoped for my car to get serviced, but in this case it was because there were several cars in front of me, not because the staff couldn't be bothered to let me know my car was finished. The customer service staff (at least whoever was working while I was there) is young, energetic, and easy to deal with. $32 for a standard oil change seems a little pricier than what I was previously used to, but for now it's something I can live with. As long as there isn't a long line of cars to deal with, I'd come back. read more

I wanted to find some cocoa, good tea, heavy cream, diet Rite..but Walmart doesn't carry any of it. (Target does!) 2. I purchased a kitty litter box here and returned it because the one at Target was 10 bucks cheaper. Good god, the line for the return is insane. Why you ask? Because the customer service line is also a line where people can cash their checks. Fan friggen tastic. Go to a bank people! 3. There are always like 3 cashiers working during the busy lunch hours so you can guarantee to be waiting in line for the rest of your lunch hour. 4. There is someone checking your bag and receipt when you leave. I am at friggen WALMART!!!! Why the hell and what the hell can I possibly steal at Walmart since everything is pretty damn inexpensive. 5. Recently, I have found that at least half of all Walmart employees are really from the bottom of the barrel. It seems like helping customers with "Walmart Pay" is above their pay grade. It ALWAYS takes asking 3-6 employees to help me use their own app! TWO different stores even had managers that DID NOT KNOW how to work the app. What is the point of using the app at all? Pathetic!!! This Walmart was very awful! Two cashiers could not use the Walmart app at all! The asst Manager was very competent with the app, but neither cashier would stick around to learn. They just wandered off to do who knows what... I even asked them to please stay with us so they could at least watch what was happening. The asst Mgr just made excuses for them afterwards. Not good. Also, I am all for employing people who use English as 2nd language, but when you take them by the hand to try to show them something similar to what you want &they still don't get it, time for them to go to nite school. My mom has been coming here for oil changes, and I will never let her bring her car here again ever. I had a free weekend and volunteered to change her oil myself. Being an aspiring auto mechanic in a past life, I was damned surprised when I opened the hood. An oil change is one of the simplest things to complete. Walmart, in their incompetence, managed to break the top half of her oil filler cap. I had remove the half with a wrench. They put on the wrong oil filter. Sure, it fit onto the threads, but the filter was too small to properly clean her V6. I would not recommend anyone bring their car here for service, you may save a few bucks. The knives were in the fishing section and can be pulled out of the sheath easily. Told him they are as sharp as any other knives. He looked at me, then he said "so, I did not put it there. They put it there. Ok. I'll tell my manager" and he goes and put it back on the shelf. Then without making an effort to contact a manager, he just assumes his duty to help the next customer. That is when I decided to email corporate. How ridiculous is this guy? Don't care about anyone's safety. It's kids safety we are talking about here. read more

Thank goodness for Walmart, a poor student has to eat! I felt so guilty coming here when I was taking a political science class. But it's a decent Walmart. I really enjoy going to the cashier named Mary. She likes to comment on items you buy, and that's why I LOVE her. She always comments on the sloppy joe cans I buy and is so enthused when she sees a freebie on mouth wash. She's so funny and full of happiness and seems like she really enjoys what she does. I imagine what she'd say if I had her ring me up some lube and condoms or something hehe. But anyway she and the Filipino workers pretty much are the only reason I even give this place 3 stars. Customer service via telephone makes you wanna jump out a window. I'm always on hold for at least 10 minutes. They do like to restock inventory an hour prior to closing sometimes so be careful you might get smooshed. read more

I absolutely HATE Walmart, prefer Target. Target is less frantic and the employees are MUCH more helpful. But, I wasn't near a Target one day and needed to pick something up badly. I was looking for newborn baby beanies but couldn't find them anywhere. My son went to ask some woman coming out from a storage room and she says as she flies past him, "That's not my department." I can understand and appreciate that, but maybe you would want to show good customer service by maybe saying, "That's not my department but I'll get someone for you." Nooooooo Pretty much she said, "That's not my department and good luck finding anyone to help you." We finally saw that the newborn beanies were sold out. Worst Walmart I've ever been to. It's always crowded, day or night, weekday or weekend. The people that shop here are so RUDE! They run your heels over with their carts...squeeze past you...zoom through the aisles. I usually have a carseat atop my cart with my baby in it...and althought I don't expect special treatment...I'm astounded with how many people will actually try to MOVE my cart out of the way, slam into it, or get upset that I am not moving at a fast enough pace. As for the employees...they are also very rude. Mostly elderly Filipinos (I'm not being racist, I'm a Filipino) that HATE their job. Everytime I'm in the baby section there ore these 2 women that are loudly complaining about their job and the other employees in Tagalog...while they are BARELY working and will not take the time from their conversation to help me. Oh and when I asked them a question...they just said, "We don't know" and went back to their gossip. I can never find anything I want here. Everything is out of stock. It is so messy and disorganized... I always have a mini panic/anxiety attack when I'm there because I get so claustrophic and pissed off that I've been hit by a shopping cart for the millionth time. Had to show my receipt to the lady at the door...she said, "Just wave it to me, I'm not really looking....it's just for the camera." Good to know. LOL read more
