This place needs more staff. I went here last week with a friend to do some shopping and place was full of customers and little staff. This is a 100 billion dollar business why aren't any people getting hired here, below you will understand why. Most of the staff working in this place are elderly people why! in such a busy place like this. Most shelves were unorganized as i walked threw the isle. Barely any staff as you walking threw the isle to ask them for a product. The meat market has about 5 staffs they were pretty fast. The lines to pay your groceries were at least a wait of 20 minutes. Very slow. The food and everything in the store was set at suck a great price. When it was finally our turn to pay i asked the person on the register how much they get pay since they not only have to ring everything up but they also have to bag it up, thats why the slow service. 9/hourly pay rate! no wonder why no one wants to work for you guys. a 100 billion dollar company paying $9 an hour what is wrong with you guys. will not be attending Walmart again ill rather go to my local supermarket. read more

I told her: many years I deposit with only the card, and I asked where does it say that to read it? Huge Walmart with decent parking. Like all Walmarts, peak times are infuriating ... enough to give you cart rage LOL! Whenever I am here, I always see a lot of Walmart employees arranging product but they never seem to catch up with the crowded masses pawing their way through aisles. It's a good effort though! It's like shopping on Amazon without using my phone or browser. Sure, it can get a bit busy here and items can run out of stock but they are quickly replenished and service + checkout are smooth overall. I love Walmart and this one didn't fail. Since we don't have one in NYC and the ones we do have in LI suck I decided to check this one out since its not too far from the tunnel. This Walmart its huge and pretty much carries everything. I was expecting long lines since the parking lot was full but I'm guessing since this location its so big it didn't seem crowded at all once inside the store. Oh my word! Never have I been to a Walmart Supercenter. But now that I have I'm mad (but understand) that there is not one on my side of the bridge. I was in shocked when my boyfriend and I walked in and there was a fresh produce section filled with fruits and veggies. I just thought we were going to plain ol Walmart. There was a bakery, deli and hot food section immediately as we walked in. And each area was full of people. I will say that part did make me feel overwhelmed but it was Sunday evening and people were probably just getting their shop on. We were stopping in to grab an elliptical and that it. But we ended up leaving with a cart full of stuff. (not the elliptical though). They had good options at the store but after reading the specs we decided on another one they have on their website. So that wasn't a loss because I wanted to see them in person. Anyway back to this gigantic store. There were a few clearance aisles that we got lost in. That was fun. I will say that there was so much selection. They had everything we were looking for and then some. I love to have options so that was nice. The one thing I was not happy with was the women's sections. Well not that I wasn't happy that I was confused about. THey have the Juniors section separating the regular and plus size clothes section. I was so confused at first because I was looking for sweats and I moved one rack over and I was looking at kid (young teens) clothing. I felt lost. lol. When I first walk into this walmart I was impressed by the size of this place. They sell a ton of stuff at very decent prices. They even have stuff that you can't find in regular supermarkets like the beef tongue and catfish nuggets for example. I especially like the fact that they keep the place very clean and the merchandise are neatly displayed. Will go back more often if only its closer to me. read more

I like this place because i can do one stop shopping here. However, lately I've been seeing a lot of people bring their pets (dogs and cats) inside. Now I've been going here for years and never even thought about bringing my dog. I asked an employee loudly, in front of the customer with a pet if the store is pet friendly. The employee answered "Yes, as long as your pet doesnt outrun you". I said, "I never knew this place was pet friendly! Nice! Im going to bring my dog here then! Thanks!" Next time i come in at like 6AM i bring my dog. The greeter tells me no dogs allowed. I had to leave my dog in the car and quickly run inside to get 3 items. I was sooo mad. They should re-educate their employees about pet policy because i see SO MANY dogs inside the store. read more

Always wanted to go to Walmart. And this place is like heaven lol. I spent more here than I do at target and I'm forever in target. Always end up sending more than 300$-400$ because of all the great things you can't really find anywhere else but Walmart. I live all the way in Harlem so for me to travel an 1 1/2 to Jersey it means a whole lot lol. Always end up struggling to make it back home with all the bags. There is almost an impossibility to get thru any phones in this facility because they simply don't pick up their phones, it took me over 12 tries to finally reach the bakery department, I was told originally by the pharmacy because that was the only # that picked up that the bakery dept did not have an extension by a not very nice person, then she transferred me to customer service who also did not pick up, a guy finally picked up, said he was not from customer service but did transfer me to bakery who obviously does have an extension, needless to say, frustration & stress level very high right now, don't bother calling this facility, if I coud rate it a 0, I would have. read more

This is the third Walmart to open near me but this is the first Walmart Supercenter. So in addition to being a regular Walmart, you've got a full-fledged supermarket in there as well. And because it's a Walmart Supercenter, you know the crowds are insane. The joint is humongous. If I were a runner, i would just come here and run a couple of laps because that's how huge this place is. But I'm not a runner bur rather a geek so I shall stick to the Electronics Department. Admittedly, the DVD department was disappointing. For a place this huge, there wasn't much of a selection. And if the regular DVD's weren't diverse, then you know the Blu-ray section had to be small. And good god, it was. Maybe they had 50 titles on hand, and that was being generous. As for the rest of the store, it seemed to be well-stocked. I did not see any empty shelves, which was surprising since this was the opening weekend that I went. And the employees actually looked happy to be there. My only gripe is with stupid customers. Okay, express sign CLEARLY says "20 items or less." It clearly states this. So why y'all gotta be fronting a top-loaded cart, when you know you've got more than 50 items, it seems. It was these morons who took up most of the Express line area. And thank god a few of the clerks refused to service them, because they had more than 20 items. Jesus why can't people read! WARNING: Since this is on Tonnelle Avenue, expect major traffic. It's only two lanes in each direction, and there is major construction going on as well. read more

For as much as I hate Wal-Mart, I love it just the same. I can get everything I need in one place and the prices are reasonable. The downfalls to this particular location are partly due to it's location. Tonnelle is a disaster. There are only 2 lighted entries which end up causing monstrous traffic because there are no turn signals. Why they revamped this entire intersection and didn't add a turn signal is beyond me. And the spot where they actually ADDED a light but didn't add a turning signal leaves me dumbfounded. My other issue is the employees. Do not misunderstand, I am tolerant and accept all cultures. Speak whatever language you want. BUT when you are working in a store and I ask you a question in English DO NOT answer me in Spanish. With that said, I think Wal-Mart needs to do a better job of making sure that their employees are actually bilingual. I have had several interactions with the employees only to end up yelling at a manager because the 3 employees I asked for assistance all looked at me with confusion on their face because they had no idea what I was saying to them. If you don't need to speak to anyone during your entire visit - you'll be fine. If you can get in early, get what you need and get out - you'll be fine. read more

This is the worst walmarts in the USA. Most of the staff will not speak English or claim not to understand you. No on can help you find anything. I don't understand how you work in this area but don't have a clue as to we're anything is located. Except Austin (who was working in the evening on October 13). So it's 11pm and they close the self service, the 20 items or less lane and all the cashier seem to have forgotten how to use the cash registers. I blame mangement. They are hiring staff that are not prepared to work anyplace. This is what they want so their staff will have no opportunity to advance or move on the bigger and better places. read more

This Walmart has to be the worse of them all.. The only good thing I can say is that at least is open 24/7 but then again aren't most of them all. Beware regardless if you come here on a week day... Midnight... 3AM thinking it wont be so crowded.. You're right but when it's time to check out they will only have ONE cashier.. So you will be stuck waiting in a line even if you're purchasing one simple item..absurd. The bathrooms are hardly clean. All the cashier I've ever encounter look like they are miserable, and they are not friendly at all. Prices are pretty low, so I guess I can't complain too much if at the end I'm saving myself a few dollars depending on what I'm looking for.. They have a big parking lot that is shared with other establishments around so most times you will parking a bit further out which to me isn't a big deal. This has got to be the most racist Walmart I've ever been to in my entire life! And I love going to Walmart's all over the country seeing what each has to offer compared to my hometown locations! The staff is rude! Will just walk away from you if you're not Hispanic and don't speak Spanish. One lady just said flat out leave my alone I don't speak English and walked away. She was a Hindu woman with a red dot on her forehead. Several staff members here we asked for assistance as we looked for a canopy all throughout the store. Seven different associates all stated I don't speak English. And when I spoke Spanish to them flat out blank face and walked away refusing to assist us. No one wanted to work. Probably the closest Walmart to Manhattan as well. 2. There are two restroom locations within this Walmart. 3. 24 hour Walmart. The best time to shop is during the non-peak hours and on weekdays. Of course if you shop on the weekends at peak hours it's going to be a madhouse. Otherwise it's not. Keep in mind they reset their registers at midnight. 4. There's a BJs, Petsmart, Applebees, Five Guys, GameStop, Vitamin Shoppe in the same area. 5. Has a Subway in it. I've been a customer here over the past couple of years. Although I don't live in Jersey, I'm here a lot and always have a Walmart trip. I prefer the Secaucus location but now its not a preference its a MUST because I highly doubt I would ever come back to the North Bergen location. I wrote a very angry and long letter to their customer service department and I hope someone reads it. The people here hate their jobs (especially the short pregnant black girl under 5 ft tall working the night shift) They need to find something else to do because the last thing they want to do its help someone. WAY too many stockers in any given aisle. Pallets left in the way. Lazy People Shoppers(that's what I call the employees that shop for others that are too lazy to do it themselves), everywhere and their carts doing nothing but clogging the way. What can you say about this place other than, NOBODY WANTS TO WORK HERE. Other than getting customer service at the customer service department, there is absolutely no communication going on between the workers. I'm always hesitant to go here, because whatever time of the day it is, the cash register line is always long or has a really slow cashier. Whenever I need help looking for something, no one knows where a single item is unless they work in that department, which apparently no one does. Why the two stars? Because of the 3% sales tax and because it has slightly lower prices compared to target and other stores nearby.
