This is probably the largest Walmart I have ever been to. The store is massive, spacious, and holds a massive inventory. This Walmart is constantly busy so the store tends to be heavily disorganized. It used to be open for 24 hours and now it has a opening and closing time, but is open everyday. I'm going to be honest when I say that the service here is awful. The workers are either rude or don't know what they're talking about. Independent shopping is advised for a better shopping experience. Don't Use the Restrooms (Friendly Advice) I Repeat.... One of the worst walmarts I've ever been to. Insanely crowded. They have parking but don't even try to get anywhere close. The people who work here really don't care about their jobs at all. You may be praying to God if you get stuck in Francis' line. On 07-24 or 25 - 2020, I was wondering the isle numbered 14/15 looking for tiny marshmallows in a jar, my boyfriend adds to his cereal. An employee asked if he could help. I thought I'd find it , so at first I declined his help. Then I walked back an asked, if he could help me. His name was Dayhim (This might not be the correct spelling) I think. This guy went so far out of his way for me. Asked several people, I felt like he really cared. He apologize and said it was his second day. I was amazed by his customers service. You don't see that , that much these days. I really wanted to bring attention to such a awesome employee. People that have that spark and enthusiasm towards their job should be noted & valued. I told the assistant manager to tell his supervisor, about what a good job he had done. He should be dealing with customers directly & not stocking the shelves. As far as Wal-Marts go, this one is better than most. Granted, you have to pick and choose your spots wisely. The electronics and food sections are well and good but their retail section leaves much to be desired. Given the time of day, that can go from bad to worse in the blink of an eye. It's a madhouse in the daytime and worse on weekends but there's always some sort of sale for you shopaholics to feast upon so enjoy. For a real treat, show up before 9am so you can sit in on the morning team meeting which they actually have complete with roll call and I'm guessing their "plan of the day." Above all else, never, EVER shop here at midnight if you are in a hurry. They shut all their registers down for a shift change and/or money counting purposes. It is a major hindrance. That and you usually have the oddest characters come out at that time. (i.e. Girl dressed as Power Ranger buying hair care products and a Mountain Dew at 2am on a Tuesday night and NO, it wasn't Halloween!) Shop here only if absolutely necessary. read more

There's nothing you can't find here.. Just be careful because whenever I come here, I only need two or three things but somehow end up spending over $100. Everything's cheap! The produce is fresher than you'd expect and cheaper than other major supermarkets. Parking is not hard to find at all, even on a busy Saturday or Sunday.... however, I highly advise that you AVOID shopping at this Walmart at all costs on the weekends. The check out lines are a mile long and there are so many people in there it's like a bumper car race except with shopping carts and rude customers who think it's okay to bump into you and shove you out of the way. The staff is (for the most part) friendly n helpful and they're not hard to find either.. There's a fitting room in the middle of the men n women's clothing sections. I particularly love their selection of under garments (sock, bras, panties, lingerie) and non-slip sneakers, mostly used by people who work at restaurants. Their selection of clothing is disappointing. I was looking for black slacks or just any black pants for work and they didn't have anything! Not even black jeans or a size XXXL. The selection is very limited, the T-shirts are a size too big so I'd buy one size down... but I truthfully wouldn't waste my money on buying tops here because the material feels so cheap, and like I mentioned, there's reeeally not much to choose from. On the plus side, it shares a parking lot with many other stores and eateries nearby so you can grab a bite after shopping. Organized crime rings are constantly in this store and will pickpocket your phone or wallet. Store management doesn't care and you already know how useless North Bergen police will be. Speaking of management, the store is chronically understaffed with long checkout lines and even longer waits at customer service. The staff is apathetic, the store is a mess and the parking lot is even worse. All the bad things you've ever heard about Walmart are at lest ten times worse at this location. If I could give 0 Stars I would this place SUCKS from the customer service (which doesn't exist) to the way the store is kept. The staff we encountered were complete Jack-Donkey. I went to the restroom and when trying to leave the restroom there was a gate (yellow) with a sign saying that the bathroom was closed and I had my baby and a hand full of things so I came back into the bathroom where two workers were and asked if I could get let out the bathroom and they spoke to each other in another language (not English) and then one said VERY rudely (Leave, just move the gate and LEAVE).. I said " I have my hands full" she said JUST LEAVE.. I wanted to SMACK all the teeth out of her mouth because she was so RUDE and I was holding a baby so I made my way out and was able to kick the gate out my way since I needed to JUST LEAVE. Ok so after moving to California for a year, I visited this Walmart once again. I am GLAD to report that things HAVE IMPROVED. Sure it's not the shining example of perfection but it has come a long way from the utter wreck this store once was. On a visit past midnight, (the only time to go to avoid the lines at this place.) There were, lo-and-behold, MULTIPLE CASHIERS! I did not have to wait forever, in fact the wait was not that bad at all. It is still very crowded but I even found it running more efficiently during the day time hours. Maybe the corporate offices read the yelp reviews and my letters and decided to do something about it? Who knows. One thing that has not gotten fixed: NO BASKETS! This store NEVER EVER has any hand hand baskets. (Maybe its because of theft?) All I know its a shopping cart is a huge handicap when you are in a rush trying to buy only one or two items. I am also glad to report that this Walmart has the Mexican glass bottles coca-colas just like we do here on the West Coast. They are at a super price too, only 98 cents. Don't laugh until you try one they're actually bottled in Mexico and use pure sugar cane instead of high fructose. SO DELICIOUS! I'm really glad coca-cola got its act together and is making these more available on the East Coast. I'm my book this Walmart earns points for that. Good job on the improvements, Walmart. Low Rank bc of my experience with their vision center. Don't use the vision center, if you're purchasing glasses or lenses elsewhere. They're only interested in making a sale. And rude if you call them on it. For the amount I spent, I could've received an exam and free frames at Cohens Optical! I had an eye exam less than a month ago and explained during the visit that i wouldn't be purchasing glasses or lenses at their center. They intentionally left out the fact that they do not provide the pupillary distance aka "PD" (which is necessary to create centered frames). Because they only want you to shop with them. It's easier and cheaper to purchase frames online, so you can imagine my surprise when my order was blocked due to the missing PD. I called walmart thinking I'd ask if the info was on file and was told, point blank "we only provide that information if you're buying our frames." So I replied that if they truly cared about patients getting their Rx filled they wouldn't lie to make a sale. She had no rebuttal, so I hung up. This review is for the optometrist, Ma-Le Trieu, at the vision center. She is wonderful! She answered all of my questions and made the visit as comfortable as she could. If you're anything like me, you would go to Wal-Mart at night to avoid the psycho bargain hunters. At night, they usually only have one register open which usually results in mile long lines, but whatever right? Oh, and don't ask anyone for help because...you already know why. Just like most Wal-Marts, it's huge and carries a wide array of your basic household goods. Unfortunately, like every Wal-Mart, it's not in the best location; it's in a very busy, highly populated shopping center area so getting in and out of the parking lot can be a nightmare, or they lack parking spaces closer to the store. I wish they'd open up more convenient locations considering it is one of the better stores for selection and pricing. Wholesale stores like Costco carry items that are too much in size, and supermarkets lack the size and deals that wholesale carries. Wal-Mart is the perfect answer and median between the two. This particular location may be overwhelming when you enter. There is no clear organization in this place. There's a huge area for beauty products by the front of the store which kind of gets in the way since the cash register lines are long. The aisles are marked, but you're going to have to walk around to find what you're looking for, if it is specific. It gets easily crowded at this place so there is traffic in the aisles. They may also run out of stock for even basic branded items like Tropicana OJ. The biggest drawback about this Wal-Mart is that the lines can get intolerably long. I've waited at least 30 minutes in a line while also defending myself from any line-cutters. If you have less than 20 items, try to get in the express lanes. I think they should start opening up self-service lines to alleviate this situation. read more

BIG Wal-Mart! Went there on a Saturday afternoon and was really dreading it because it's the holiday season and shopping is usually a nightmare. I was pleasantly surprised. Although it was crowded, since it's so big, it wasn't bad. Didn't have to wait long in line either -- took about 10 minutes. Don't know if I was just lucky that day. Ivan is fastest cashier I have ever seen. Great experience. I was shopping at this Walmart yesterday and have 4 carts worth of items to purchase. Since I had to purchase iPad, I was supposed to checkout at Electronics. I was dreaded as I was expecting checking 4 carts worth of item would take a loooong time. However, Ivan was the cashier and he started rolling. He was very polite at the same time fast with checking all the items in the cart out. Amazing experience. One of the nicer walmarts that i have been to. Much larger than the one in secaucus and not as much as a mad house. The aisles are nice and wide and clearly marked. Surprisingly also, the staff is courteous and not hard to find. 3.5% sales tax great also. -1 star for not having 24 packs of poland spring water. read more

Great place to find deals! I'm a girl on a budget and Walmart is good about saving me money!

I like Walmart stores, especially the 24 hour ones. But I'll give you a tip with this one. Go in the morning, not in the afternoon, and most certainty not at night. With this Walmart, they are usually good at keeping the store clean till about the afternoon. Once it turns night out, this Walmart turns into a side show. That's when you start to find stuff like, a gallon of milk in the auto parts section or open boxes of cookies where they sell light bulbs. After midnight, either bring ear plugs and/or your own cashier. Here's why... The workers there, blast Spanish music all throughout the store. I don't want to say all throughout the store, it's more or less where the car stereos are set up. They just have the music blaring from 1 speaker. Whether or not it's the workers... wouldn't it make sense for someone to go over there and turn the music down? It's rude and ghetto. I've ended up turning the music down myself a few times at late night visits. Also, there's really no one there... but the lines are huge! It's like, 3 lanes are opened, and each lane has 11 people in it. Wouldn't it make sense to hire more people at night. Everyone else is busy blocking the aisles with boxes of merchandise. I'm also not hating on the people here, but they really need to start hiring smarter people too. I was at the customer service desk getting a refund of $9.87. The person taking care of me was a young girl, who I could tell paid a lot of attention to herself. I say that because she made sure her chest tattoo was in sight, where as a normal person probably would've buttoned her shirt up. Anyhow, I wanted a ten dollar bill. So I reached in my pocket and grabbed the only change I had, 25 cents. I handed it to her and immediately thought to myself, what have I done? I saw her weave smoking... She reaches in the drawer and literally paused. After about 5 seconds, she gives me $10.00. I looked at her with the only face... I said, where's my change? She said... Ohhhhhhhhh and gave me a dime. I just looked at her and walked away, I felt so bad to tell her that she just shorted me two cents. It's not about the two pennies, it's about the principle! I'm suppose to get back, $10.12. I have very mixed feelings about this walmart location. Yes, it's convenient, yes the prices are great. However, they claim to be the best in the area but I can tell you they definitely are NOT. The customer service is mediocre at best, but I don't blame them. They are way understaffed when compared to the overwhelming amount of customers they receive on the daily. It is no wonder the cashiers are always uptight, and their supervisors are some of the worst. I had the opportunity to speak with one of their cashiers (probably one of the very few nice ones in the establishment) while they were scanning my items and they shared with me that their Customer Service Managers don't care much about them as employees. They forget to give them their scheduled breaks and sometimes make them stay after their shift is over because "there is nobody available to cover for them", knowing the company does not allow overtime and they can get in trouble for it. I was told that one of the worst CSMs was a lady named Maria. The older one, they said. She is apparently rude, not only to the employees, but sometimes the customers as well. I thought they were lying until I had the unfortunate chance of stumbling upon her. I can tell you right here and now, they were telling the absolute truth. The woman is a nightmare. I've seen many a Wal-Mart in the south as I'm not a native New Yorker, but this one takes the cake. Who would have ever thought you could take the Wal-Mart out of the country but not the country out of the Wal-Mart. There are 924702984 lines and 5 of them are open, there are people on the express line with 2 carts worth of groceries, there are screaming children and items on the floor, no one available in the deli section, and there are of course the cashiers busy having there own conversations about past and future weekend activities. I gathered all of this from only coming for a cake..... I'm not a Jersey resident, but I believe you could do better somewhere else. read more

Cashiers are generally nice but the lines are always extremely LONG. It's been a bit better recently since they opened the self-checkout, but still a place this size should have more cashiers open and available!
