This is an interesting Walmart. I mean all of them are interesting in their own way. Since moving to Ocala, this has been the main location we frequent due to the close proximity to home. I mostly opt for the Walmart+ delivery but every so often, I shop in person. I personally have not any horrible experiences here, at least with the staff or the store itself. The customers are usually the issue. My most recent visit was pleasant overall. The customers were very decent, some even friendly and polite. The staff is usually professional and friendly. The customer service I think is excellent at this store. The store is usually pretty well stocked and clean. The parking lot is usually more of a mess than inside. Again, it's the customers who are too lazy to throw out their trash or return the shopping carts to the appropriate place. There is a lot of criminal activity here, as I have read about in the news so just be a little guarded when you are shopping here. The police do have those little security cranes in the parking lot but I do think there needs to be way more lighting outside. read more

Several months I was in the electronics department & asked an employee for help with my phone. She promptly asked me why hadn't I updated my phone. I didn't answer right away so she then told me she could get me a free phone. To make a long story short she signed sold me the phone (without telling me) thru my provider. As I was leaving with my "free" phone she suggested I take a look at the bundle of papers she'd handed me because I would learn all about my new phone. About 10 days later I did look at them & saw to my horror that I had been set up with monthly payments on the phone through my provider. On numerous occassions, I've asked for help and the employee tells me they don't speak English? So either they are lying to get out of helping or they are hiring illegals who don't speak English. NOT GOOD. Employees should know and understand the language that most AMERICANS speak. read more

I think most Walmarts are guilty of this, but this one in Ocala stands out. Customer service is a thing of the past. Paying guests are herded like cattle to chutes. It comes from corporate and flows downhill. The apathy is shared. Customer care workers care less about the customer care aspect of the job when their employers care less about them and the guests they are supposed to deal with. When did it become good business to let people find their goods in 25 minutes, but it takes 45 minutes to check out? It's a ridiculous premise. What kills me is how much money I've spent there for the savings when I could have spent less time at Dollar General and Aldi finding superior items for a better price. Severely short staffed. A corporation that makes billions in profit but won't properly staff their stores. you can't reach anyone on the phone, and apparently it's acceptable to shop an an entire grocery order, and tell the customer it will be delivered 48 hours later. I was a Walmart plus member- the groceries should have been delivered same day as I was told in the first place. I canceled my membership and will not spend another dollar here. Checked in for pick up at 10-30 in my spot waited over 1.5 hours before anyone came and talked to me. Finally brought my groceries out 2 hours later. Really defeats the purpose of pick up when no customer service is offered or anyone wonders why someone has been in a spot for so long. Stopped here to pick up some groceries and pet items. Not one of the largest supercenters we've been to. It is clean and friendly. We've been to quite a few walmarts while on the road in our RV. This was probably the best one we've been to since being in the southeast. Employees are friendly, courteous and helpful. Will definitely stop in here again before leaving the area. read more

Ocala Walmart Supercenter #1847 4980 E Silver Springs Blvd Check out lines severely under staffed. I saw 1 check out open with a long line. I decided to try the self check out. I try to never use them I feel they take away jobs from people. Never using one I asked the attendant for help. The help was "just scan and go". I had no idea how to end the transaction and pay. still no help from the attendant.Two thirds of the employees are rude not at all helpful or friendly. Pharmacy staff is the worse. Not one smile in the bunch. I felt like I was an inconvenience to them when I tried to get the meds transferred. The lady out in the garden shop was pleasant as well as 1 or 2 others I passed going trough the store. I really hate Walmart. But they closed my Kmart so now I have no choice. The only reason that I gave it a four star review is because when I rented a Redbox movie online, I could not pick it up because that particular entrance was closed for the night. 2nd order in less than a week that the walmart on silver springs HY 40 has messed up my order or just didn't deliver my order at all. 1 order they messed up was 2 Fridays ago. delivery was between 7/8pm driver said it was left at my pouch. I was home the entire time. NOTHING was left at my house. Since it was after hours I had to wait until the next day to get answers. The store refused to take my calls placed me on hold many times never to answer. I called the customer service number finally they answered and had to get in contact with the store which never happened. Said they would call me back never did. After 4 days of fighting for my money back finally they refunded me. Today I said let me try again. ( let me say I've being using delivery for over 5 months now never issue until recently) so I placed my order today to be delivered between 3/4 . Delivery shows up and I'm missing most of my oder. So here we go again. Calling store no answer. Call customer service she seemed helpful this time. Said the store would bring me the groceries they didn't give me in my delivery. Here we are and still hasn't been delivered... I highly suggest not using this service. I'm a single mom I don't have extra money to just shell out of groceries. I'm on a tight budget.
