In all my life I have never felt more ashamed and embarrassed for a store. My husband (white male) and I (Asian female) have been supporting this Wal Mart location for few years. Before Covid struck us all, this store was our go-to place. We continued shopping there in person during the pandemic to support local business instead of shopping online. We respected their store policy by wearing our masks and trying to keep that 6 foot distance from other shoppers; we were never pettish about it. With that being said, while shopping with my husband recently in two separate occasions, (first time on May 20th and second time on July 2nd, I experienced something that was abhorrent. Racism! I really hate that word but that is what I experienced at this store by Wal-Mart "employees." In both incidents the employees noticed my presence and I noticed they did not have their face masks on. In both incidents, they left their face masks off while other non-Asian shoppers were walking near them. However in both incidents, when I walked by with eye contact, they put their masks back on their face. It was blatantly ballsy! I try to look at the whole picture in life and give people the benefit of the doubt; "ignorance," plays a huge role in how some people behave today. I sincerely wanted to believe it was just ignorance but in these incidences it was not. All in all, I hope the store manager will address this sad behavior but in the mean time our money will go elsewhere. read more

We have shopped here since it opened. The store is accessible, but their customer service is slow. If you do not mind waiting, come on over. We do like the pharmacy, they are always so sweet. Don't get me wrong the employees are usually nice, but at times, they do not want to be bothered with getting you in and out fast. read more

I went into this Walmart today to return an item I had purchased less than 3 weeks ago. I did not have my original receipt with me but I did have the debit card I had used for the purchase. I walked in the door and went straight to the return area. I was immediately asked where my sticker was that I should have received when I walked in. I told them that I had not received one which I didn't know I needed the man in front said he didn't give me one because he was so busy with other customers he didn't see me. As I was handing the clerk my debit card so she could look up the purchase another employee who was already back in this area when I had arrived said she had seen me coming from the back of the store where the item was located and also witnessed me removing the tag. The item was a $30 ice chest which I had keep the tag for and had placed inside the ice chest. She then said we are not going to return the item. I ask them to review the security camera footage and they would see the true facts along with checking my debit card to verify the purchase which they said they would do neither. So I returned home and was able to locate my original receipt. I then went back to the store and made my return with no problems. Im not sure why Walmart would hire people that bold face lie about the customers that frequent their store. When I arrived home I immediately contacted Walmarts corporate offices to file a complaint I will also be writing a letter to Doug Mc Millian CEO for Walmart. I would advise anyone whos doesn't want their integrity and honesty to be questioned by a dishonest employee not to shop at this walmart. I used to avoid this store at all costs because it never carried the things I normally buy at Walmart, because it is too small. I had been anxious to shop in their fabric department and was disappointed that there wasn't one. That was about 3-4 years ago when the store first opened, but recently in the last few months they have opened a new fabric section in this store and I am ecstatic! I went in to buy a couple packs of magic cards and some butter. I was constantly followed around by security guards, and when I completed my transaction both packs were clearly resealed. I moved from the Folsom area to OV. I used to complain about Folsom, but this place is 100 times worse. I guess you get what you pay for. You really have to twist my arm to get me in this store. I can never rely on them having what I need and 90% of the help is bad. I suggest going when you notice a mostly empty parking lot, then you can get in and out OK. read more

Supervisor called me a "Bushka" which means "Baby" in Russian don't know what it means in Ukrane. While checking out (and lacking my reading glasses), I asked the cashier to verify if I had entered $20 cash back. She turned the atm around, quickly telling me "just a enterrr berified" When giving my change, she told me I had enter $80 cash back and "Is that ok?" After a while the Supervisor Olga, SLOWLY approached with a reluctant affect and in 5-seconds, told me they could not cancel the order. To save the lady behind me with lots of spoilable groceries, I politely told them it was ok, I could always redeposit. When attempting to purchase a gift card today, I encountered technical difficulties which resulted in my not being able to complete my purchase. After 2 attempts, I discovered my bank debited the amount of the purchase twice, but no gift card. I went to customer service where I met with the manager, Antonia. Once I explained what happened, she went to her daily transactions, immediately discovered the problem, refunded all the money, and apologized for my inconvenience. I want to commend Antonia for her efficient, professional, and friendly customer service. It is so refreshing to find that today. Thank you again, Antonia. LT read more

Not that Walmart usually entails a great shopping experience in general, but this is the worst one I have ever been to. Terrible service, employees all over but none one can get me the help I need. Came to use coinstar and waited 25 minutes just for them to turn on the machine. They couldn't figure it out. And during two other experiences, I've had an employee debate my drivers license, insisting I wasn't 18 when I am 25. Again, I shouldn't be expecting much, but this place sucks. I am a mother of four, and i was treated like a criminal tonight. I went to this walmart for some last minute birthday invitations, and i lost my keys while i was there. And of course, i locked my phone into the car. Instead of trying to really help me find my keys, or even loan me a lousy 50 cents so that i could make a phone call, they pretty much told me "so sorry to bad, and you need to leave". After making a phone call to my husband (because of a kind citizen), i went inside to get a tissue, during which three of the employees followed me. I have never been treated so badly by a business before. I ask that no one ever go here. P.S. Walmart practices in BAIT AND SWITCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not order on line from Walmart, you most likely will NOT get what you ordered, but most likely a lesser item---that is FRAUD!! We ordered an Oster 24# turkey roaster. What we were given was a Rival 20# roaster---a lesser item. The store was most UNHELPFUL!! The Walmart customer service via phone, hung up on us twice. If I could give this Walmart 0 stars I would. I've had MANY bad experiences here, but today took the cake. I waited in line with my antsy baby for 45 minutes because there was one girl working behind the return counter all alone while answering phones while the manager of customer service (I believe her name is Luda) dilly-dallied around while 15+ people waited in line. I had several returns to make that were gifts from my mother-in-law and almost just left due to waiting but stayed. When the "manager" of customer service FINALLY decided to help with the line I was the lucky customer to get her first. She spent 5 minutes trying to figure out how to scan the first receipt only to give up and type it in. Only it didn't work. So she told me that all the items I was returning were purchased on a credit card (I had four items I was returning with gift receipts, and she didn't even look at them all to tell how they were purchased!) so she couldn't return for cash or store credit and that they would go back on the card they were purchased with. First of all, my mother-in-law is an elderly old woman who doesn't even have a credit card, nor has she ever had a credit card or debit card EVER in her life. So I know she didn't use a credit card... Second, when I told her I wanted store credit she said "No." That's all. I was so baffled that I waited in line for almost an hour with an antsy baby and I was so upset that this woman is such a terrible employee who has ZERO customer service skills despite being the "manager" of customer service. I asked her to give my stuff back and I would go to another location and she wouldn't hand my receipt back! She was giving such attitude that I had to yank my receipt and item from her! Seriously, ALL the sterotypes of Walmart and it's customer service are true and I'm sick of it. I don't shop here because Target is right down the road and is extremely better in their customer service skills and employee quality. I'm one very unhappy customer today and I won't be returning the items so I don't have to deal with their terrible employee quality (and these employees want to be paid $15 an hour?! HA!). Customer service was horrible today. Irina at the front door is rude. The two older gentlemen who usually work the front door are sorely missed they are both friendly and do a great job. What a horrible store. I drove accross town because the website said this location was open 24 hours, but as it turns out they close at midnight. The supervisor I spoke to said, "Its a corporate issue. We've been closing at midnight for two years now, and corporate still hasn't updated the website". Their inventory sucks also, and their clothing and shoe departments are a total joke. To reduce inventory they skip sizes making you have to often times select one size too big ot too small. The main item I wanted tonight was a pair of men's sandles for the water. I didn't want the flip/flop type with the tab between my toes, so I had to settle on the next best thing, something that resembled a crock, but worse. This place is anything but a "superstore". After getting pushed out because they were closing, I decided to try Walgreens, after-all the style of sandle I was looking for is very common. Guess what? Walgreens had the type of sandle I was looking for, and no surprise here, but they didn't skip sizes, so I was able to get it in the right size. read more

WARNING!!! NOT SAFE TO SHOP HERE!!! CBS News reports that in November a woman was kidnapped from the Parking Lot at this Walmart at the corner of Greenback and Hazel Avenue in Orangevale. Today around Noon my son, a young husband and father of 2 was returning to his car after picking something up in the store, as he came to his car in the parking lot, a man had broken the window of his car and was steeling contents from the car. When my son yelled at him, the man hit him in the face several times and fled. WHERE IS THE SECURITY AT THIS WALMART!!!! They make millions of dollars from the people of Orangevale, but don't care enough to hire or put in place decent and sufficient security programs for the safety of their shoppers! I don't care if everyone doesn't always smile or sometimes you have to wait a bit, today the managers and employees were there when I needed them most. I was the victim of a robbery in the parking lot. In the process I was dragged several feet while my four year screamed. I don't know who got the information to who, I only know that within minutes every manager and many employees were there reassuring my little one, offering me ice for my nose,assistance and making phone calls to my family and 911. Apparently the surveilance cameras were so well placed, that with an IMMEDIATE look two men were in custody soon after. Thank you. read more

I stop here because it is near my kids school. I needed a prescription refilled. I called at 9am got an automated system telling me it will be ready at 2:30pm.. I thought great I can pick the kids up at 2:30pm then pick it up. When I got there at 2:45pm I was told it could not be found. The girl went to a back computer and said oh it looks like your insurance rejected it and so we didn't fill it. I got no call before hand. I even checked my VM on my cell and home. She asked that I move to the "Drop Off" line. When going over there she said it looks like your insurance rejected it but we can fill it for $308. I thought WHAT? So I walked away called my insurance company and was told it was not rejected, nothing was ever submitted for approval. Walked back to the line where a different girl was there. I had her pull it back up and tell her that I am on the phone with my insurance right now and I am being told nothing was submitted by the Pharmacy. Some guy with no name tag in a arm sling came up behind her with the rudest possible tone " I thought this issue was resolved already, "Its been rejected".. I told him I am on the phone right now and I am being told nothing was submitted to be rejected. He again started to have an extreme attitude which I then had to reply that he was very rude. He walked off saying "fine you have someone else help you then." The girl that I was talking to before he rudely interrupted stated she would process the request. After I asked what his name was so that I can give feedback for his attitude. I was pointed by him to a stack of business cards and told that is my name, It was the Manager of the Pharmacy....His name is: Pete Patel Pharmacy Manager 9169899380. Running short on my potassium pills, supposed to last more than 90 days supply - because some day I forgot to take them-. I went without my potassium for few days . I called Walmart Orangevale pharmacy and order a refill. I picked up my pills on 10/11/136, intent to count them right away- I was suspicious that the pharmacy has been short on my pills- then on Sunday ,after having a hard time to open the potassium bottle , I counted my pill at least 5 times, the label out side the bottle shows 90 tablets but it contain only 80. I was so furious ,called Walmart pharmacy but it was closed. Next morning I called at 9 am , they insist that they gave me 90 tablets. I told them, I live alone, no dog, cat or other human, I picked up the medicine myself, opened it myself, counted it myself, where do they think the pills gone?.....Make sure count your medicine before you left the counter. The people here are not to be trusted . It happened to me and i am a registered nurse! I know how to count drugs. Shame on you Walmart Orangevale pharmacy. read more
