My hope is that a regional manager or someone from corporate in Arkansas reads this. I would give Wal Mart Orangevale ZERO stars if I could. Earlier today I went to this store to shop for some household items as I normally do every Saturday. As I proceeded to their self-check out with my cart, this big and rude behemoth African-American woman with braids (who I shall not name) jumps in front of my cart grabbing it and pushing it to the register she wanted me to use. I pointed to the register I was wanting to use and she told me it was closed when clearly it wasn't. I asked her to take her hands off my cart and to leave me alone and she continued to berate me with her loud intimidating voice forcefully pushing my cart to the register she wanted me to use. I cannot speak on behalf of all of their store employees, but this one had extremely poor customer service skills and had absolutely no business interacting with paying customers. I have no idea what Wal Mart's policies are when hiring employees, but I hope hired applicants are drug tested with a background check for the sake of customer safety and liability. It was very unfortunate I had to deal with a mentally disturbed employee with psychological issues who was disrespectful and physically confrontational for no reason. From now on, I will shop at Target because I truly believe this woman is deranged and dangerous. I would not be surprised if I see this woman's mugshot on the late night news someday for assaulting a customer. With that being said, I am afraid to go back. All I wanted to do was to buy a few items, check out, and go home. It's a shame because I have shopped at this Orangevale location for years. read more

I tried this location for my grocery delivery. Big mistake. Several items expired, including a Gallon of milk with an expiration date 4 days before I got the delivery. Helen Keller must have been my shopper. Unlike other services that believe you, one must actually make a trip to Walmart to return something, so time and gas saved by not going to the store is negated. Worse yet, when I got to the store, their system was down so they were "unable to process" my return. Sad. I've always been one of those people who hate Walmart, but now more than ever. They recently started this whole scanning each receipt upon exit which is something I cannot stand. I understand their need for increased security after stores stopped providing free bags, but having to dig through my purse after paying to find the receipt is the most annoying thing to me. This Walmart off Greenback & Hazel is fairly new and most likely was built about 9 years ago. We shop here once in awhile and like most Walmarts the produce section is on either left/right side and paint, auto & fishing items as well on one of the side walls. I like this Walmart more than others in the area because is not as crowded and the workers look clean without all the nasty tats & nose rings. One thing they lack is the workers not being able to point you in the right direction when in need certain items. Their produce is meh not that great but one thing I like is the school supplies, soaps, shampoos etc. 4 stars for this Walmart. read more

The older Indian man who checks the receipts at the door is so incredibly rude. He made me drop all of my heavy stuff on the ground after rolling his eyes because my receipt was in my wallet in my back pocket. After he watched me check out at self check. After telling him I was going to talk to the manager he snapped back at me saying okay have a great day. Beware. I purchased a TV on Walmart.com. It arrived damaged from shipment. I was just advised by the Customer Service Manager at this store that effective Monday Walmart is not going to accept returns on anything. I am out hundreds of dollars. I didn't want a return. Just and exchange. Walmart doesn't care. They are making so much money during covid19 and now they want to make even more. Terrible company to do this to people right now. This is my Wal Mart "of last choice" as their selection of "all-things-non-grocery" is not good. Issues in the parking lot. I realize Wal Mart can't control the problems that lie within the LOCATION, but it might make people more comfortable if they had some security in the parking lot. Several times I have been approached by teenagers/young 20's people looking for money. They just appear out of nowhere while you are putting your bags your car. It is unnerving and scary as these people often seem to be a little...."off". You can't quite be sure if they are going to get mad if you decline. And then what? Scary thought. I recommend that people really pay attention to what is around their car as they approach it. Have your key out, jump in, toss your bags in next to you, and lock your car. Again, Walmart can't control these people from wandering onto their property.....but I think it might deter these people if they see Security Staff wandering about also. read more

This Walmart is supposed to be a Super Center yet they lack quite a few things. They don't have a garden center, their clothes seem to be what every other Walmart could not sell and all the shoes pretty much seem like orthopedic shoes. Whom are they trying to cater to? I don't know but I do know it's not working because every time I go it doesn't seem like they are selling any of those shoes. Maybe they are and they just restock. ;) Quite honestly, it's not very "super" if you ask me. Now, their customer service is an absolute delight. The cashiers are very sweet, the people on the floor are extremely helpful and the managers are true examples of what managers at ANY Walmart should be. Any time someone recognizes me from a previous visit they take a moment to say hello and ask about my children. I like that. I've been a customer here since they opened their doors. I go to this Walmart for some groceries, school supplies and dog food. Their prices are excellent for the most part. Their parking lot is a little crazy sometimes. Seems to be the cool place to be at for some not so young people in the evening and that's not OK because it makes a place that is otherwise a nice neighborhood seem rather ghetto. I really love this Walmart! I drive out of my way to shop only here. I remember when it was first built and I have shopped here ever since. The store is very easy to shop in because of the way they've laid it out. Also, I like that I know where everything is and it's not rearranged ever. The prices are so much cheaper than Raley's or Safeway. I've looked at prices in these other stores and found the same product for half the price at Walmart. For example I love a certain type of hummus that I could only buy at Raley's for five dollars. Recently Walmart started carrying the exact same tub for $2.50! So I noticed on my visit today though, that they recently built glass locked cabinets around their booze. This sucks for me because I purchase alcohol every week on my weekly shopping trip. So I had to wander around to find the right associate to unlock it for me. It made my usual in and out in like 8 minutes longer. The lines aren't usually very long, however I usually shop on the weekdays in the afternoon. I can't say much for what's it's like on weekends. The check out clerks are usually pretty fast too but I know which ones are slow and stay out of their lanes. Beware of bringing your owns bags! They charge you ten cents per bag if you don't. I own a ton of them because I've forgotten like four times. The ones they sell aren't even that sturdy. I've used a handful of them more than once and had to toss them because they ripped. read more

This review is only five starts because of RICARDO FROM ELECTRONICS AND KARIN FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE. Bought a 3DS game from electronics that had NO GAME IN IT. It even seemed ghetto wrapped and I am already guessing it was from some no good person who returned the box taking the game and ghetto re wrapped it. The game said price reduction from $30 to $20 which is what made me get it. I came home realize that the box was empty and immediately went back to Walmart. I came back to Walmart and went to the customer service section and immediately spoke to Karin. Karin was very friendly and she really wanted to help me with what was going on. I was afraid that she is going to think that I am just going to lowball them and scam them because the game is empty and they might think that I stole it and now wanted to return it to get a free game. Which I would never and that was not my intentions at all. Karen told me to go back to electronics and pick whatever game I want and that she will price match me for the price I paid for this game to whatever else game that I want. Which was very thoughtful and extremely PROFESSIONAL. Give her a RAISE and a PROMOTION. She can definitely deal with people correctly. As I got to electronics I saw Ricardo and I told him about my situation, he listened to me and then immediately help me to pick out a new game. He seemed very genuine, laid-back, and polite. From coming home and getting pissed off, driving back to Walmart, and being handled with a professional manner it made me forget about my bad situation in the first place. Since it wasn't there fault I got a game with no game in it, they both still handled my situation perfectly and had me walking out a happy customer from an enraged sad customer walking in. This is the only Walmart I will set foot in. Literally. The one in Rancho is beyond ghetto, so when I stumbled upon this one, I was ecstatic. Finally a Walmart that doesn't have panhandlers hanging around outside and following me to my car! This Walmart is, dare I say, nice! It's spacious, clean, and the employees are pleasant. The prices are good but generally speaking, Walmart prices are not what they used to be. Many items I've found at Target at nearly the same price or cheaper. Nevertheless, I'm still willing to drive 20 miles roundtrip to come to this Walmart than set foot in the one at Rancho. All in all, I like this Walmart location. I felt compelled to write a review about (ironically) the customer SERVICE department that is very unwilling to provide anything but the bare minimal service possible. I was "helped" (we'll say for fun) by a young man named Sam. I went in to make a return of a stroller I had bought while vacationing in Coos Bay. I honestly don't shop at Walmart much and am not one who makes returns very often BUT this stroller was still in the box UNOPENED and cost a total of almost $200. We bought it just Incase we needed it bc we didn't want to use our nicer stroller if it would get ruined. When I went to make the return Sam said he would need the receipt. Again, not shopping there or making returns often, had no idea that you needed a receipt and thought that like literally every other major retailer under the sun, they would be able to look it up under the card that I purchased it on. Sam said i could only exchange it for another stroller. I was very disappointed bc I felt like I'm getting screwed out of $200 buck! We didn't use this stroller, we don't need this stroller, we don't need any other stroller! He just stares into space "no I can't help you without a receipt". So, completely frustrated and at a loss of what to do, shocked that not keeping that tiny piece of paper literally cost me $200 and there is NOTHING I can do about it, I picked up the phone and called Coos Bay Walmart. The manager i spoke to there SOOOO HELPFUL!! She said that she looks up card transactions for people all the time if they have their bank account. I told Sam "we don't do that". The manager at Coos Bay Walmart says "let me talk to him, it's literally unopened, it costs him NOTHING to return it. I tell Sam that she wants to talk to him, he says "I'm not allowed to take your phone" so she says okay I'll call them! (Again, soooo nice!!!). And Sam, you could say "I'm sorry ma'am I can not take your phone but I would be willing to speak to her if she could call or I could call her." I have no problem with policies but try to provide some help I am a paying consumer at your place of business, what I buy IS your paycheck. But he DID NOT WANT TO HELP! All he wanted was to tell me what he can't do, not what he can. Finally a manager came over ( I believe her name was Ana) and she took the card and bank statement I pulled up on my phone and refunded me all the money (while still speaking to the CB manager! But if I did not decide to call that other Walmart by my own wits, I never would have seen that money bc Sam told me there was NOTHING he could do. Sorry for the long post but I felt it necessary. Conclusion: Walmart-- you need to be able to look up transactions by credit card, save a tree and me a headache. Nobody uses paper for anything anymore, it's all electronic. (I won't shop there anymore bc of this) Sam-- basic human kindness costs you nothing. Ana-- Thank you for helping. CB Manager-- you saved my $200 and I think I love you. Yeah, it's Walmart: you know it isn't going to be a super fun experience shopping there. That said, this location is lacking in several areas. The staff at the pharmacy are either outright rude or total space-cadets. They always ask if the prescription was called in same-day and then get huffy when you say 'no, yesterday'. They never have enough register staff at the front during peak hours. Several times I have considered putting my stuff down and leaving rather than wait in the enormous lines (every open register backed up 5 people deep.) The register staff have always been courteous though. The parking lot is an atrocious death trap. Cars get clogged up at the store entrance waiting for people to clear the crosswalk. This store is gigantic, why is there only one entrance?? read more

complaint for ANDY at the Orangevale Walmart Had to return a shirt I bought for my husband and waited in the customer service line for almost 10 mins. When I asked the person behind the desk to try to call for backup. She was the only one working and her customer was doing a wire which takes quite a lot of time. She informed me and the other 6 customers waiting in line that her co worker was on a "break", I asked if she could call for someone else to help us, that is when ANDY came walking into the c/s area. This store seems smaller than the other WMS in Citrus Heights. Nonetheless, it has all that you could ever want or need. A full size grocery, plus the normal things Wally World is known for--mens, womens, kids, toys, sporting goods, electronic....its all here. My biggest complaint are two things: Its hard to find a knowledgeable employee who can point you in the right direction when you are looking for something. I'm not talking an obscure item, I mean like, Glade air fresheners. I asked two different employees, was told to go to two different places and each time--nothing! I finally found it on my own at a completely different area of the store. The second issue is parking. The lot is horrible. Narrow rows and spaces make this a hazard to your vehicle. Plus, its so hard to get in and out of the lot onto Greenback, you feel like you're taking your life into your hands trying to get outta there. read more

Let me just say that I have been to a lot of Wal-Mart's around California and this one is middle of the range on all levels. The store is fairly clean, shelves are stocked and they have a fairly good selection of different items. I do not like the service whatsoever. The employees are not helpful, often rude, and it is impossible to find someone to help get stuff down. The photo department seems to have the only employees who are helpful. I know it is a big box store and nothing will change but if you have the time and or choice, go to the Folsom store. It is better. read more

I shop hear often and get in and out with what I need. NEVER do I ever ask for any assistance or have questions, but the few times I have needed help 3 out of 4 to be EXACT have been HORRIBLE. All three employees were in foul moods, not willing to go above and beyond to assist or did not know information regarding product. They were not happy or friendly. Today 11/22/20, I went to purchase disinfectant wipes, in the aisle there was ABSOLUTELY no sign indicating that there were purchase limits, as I was at self check out, there was altercation that happened when a women employee RUDLY AND DISRESPECTFULLY treated a customer who was purchasing two packs of toilet paper. She told her she could not purchase the second pack and began to take it out of the cart. The women and the baby came shopping together and were using one cart. They made it clear it was two separate households and the employee was sarcastic, rude and had no customer service. I continued to check out as more employees came to the self check out area. I was then approached by Daniel an employee who came up to me and told me I could not purchase the 5 disinfectant wipes and can only take one, this after he was involved with the other argument happening and after I had already scanned my purchase. I said where is the sign limiting the amount. He said it's posted as he directed me to a sign that specifically stated " there was a limitation to HOUSEHOLD SUPPLIES", that could mean anything. I became frustrated and he took 4 of my wipers and took them off my purchase. As I finished my purchase a manager came up and was trying to deal with the incident, as I walked out I made eye contact with Daniel and said to him, I believe signage needs to be modified to disclose what household items are limited, was not finished stating what I needed to and he cut me off and said "thanks will let them know". I stopped in my tracks, as I was already annoyed and said excuse me but I was not done speaking and I don't appreciate your tome nor your rudeness. He cut me off and said I heard you, I said no you did not. He then began to speak and I cut him off and said to him as an employee you need to listen and hear the customers not be rude. I walked out with my purchase called and spoke to Chris store supervisor and explained the situation about the signs, my incident and told him that they needed better training and people that are HAPPY to be working. He said he would see about the signs, would talk to Daniel, but I can only assume nothing will change. If your having a bad day at work, no need to take it out on customers. Daniel was also rude to another lady that was in line with her daughter by yelling at her that another check out was available the lady put her hand up as she was not ready to proceed. Absolutely no courtesy, no friendliness and it's no wonder that WALMART has a stereo type that their employees are miserable, unhappy, disgruntle, rude people just collecting a paycheck with no customer service capability. I shop here sometimes because it is close, but the really try and avoid it if I can. The service is terrible! The employees are very rude, particularly the people of Russian descent, and with out any work ethics. Half the time you see like two or three people in the whole store that are working, and the rest are just taking their sweet time. You know the 10 foot rule? I recently went to my neighborhood market for a few thing. A couple items I wanted to pick up were behind glass in sporting goods. What the items were is unimportant. I stood there for about 10 minutes, not one but three employees walked by. All of them had there little blue vest on that says "how may I help you" on the back. Well I figured out why it's on their back, the only time you will hear "how may I help you" is when you read it to yourself as the employees walk away! I stopped the fourth employee that walked by and asked for help. She said I'll get someone right there. 15 minutes later, I was so frustrated that I just left my basket and walked out of the store. I lost 45 minutes of my life in that store, waiting for help I never received. Maybe they put items behind glass just for looks or maybe the employees don't know how to open the case. Customer service is very important and this store is struggling with it to say the least. Maybe Walmart has gotten so big, it doesn't care anymore. Sorry Walmart but you owe me 45 minutes! UPDATE! I will never buy another vehicle battery from Walmart again. I purchased two batteries in November 2017 from Walmart, one was prorated for the previous Walmart battery that was in my vehicle and the other was purchased brand new. Because the associate rang both batteries on the same invoice that had a prorated battery, the store refuses to honor the warranty on either battery because in their systems opinion, the first battery that failed was already replaced under warranty. It does not matter that I purchased two batteries for the truck on the same day,. One of the new batteries died just over two years old, and the battery is clearly labeled as a 5 year battery. This battery still had one year of full 100% replacement warranty left and two more years of prorated warranty left. The store personnel will not honor the battery warranty on either battery (the one I paid full price for or the one that was prorated). So instead of purchasing another one here I went down the street to Batteries Plus where they sold me a new battery and installed the new one very fast. read more

Hal was working as a greeter and let us know that the department had already gone home. He went above and beyond helping us out and making sure that we could still manage to return what we needed to return, which was a pleasant surprise at that late hour. I just got back from Walmart and I was beyond pissed at what I experienced. No wipes for the carts, no one offering to wipe the cart down. Employers not wearing masks, I think I saw maybe 5 employees with a mask on, very little social distancing with not only the employees but the patrons. The store was packed. So they are not limiting the number of people in the store at one time. And I was sat prob only 10% of patrons had masks on. Management should be mandating all employees to be wearing a mask. This Walmart is horrible. A member refused to sell me a fishing license due to "Covid-19" when I called to speak with the manager about why they haven't put up a sign if they truly aren't selling any at this time. He wasn't informed that they aren't selling any fishing licenses and then proceeded to tell me that maybe there not selling any because I wouldn't be going out and fishing.
