As Walmarts go this one was NOT TOO BAD!!! Hey, I'm stuck in a town where I know absolutely no one and well my mode of transportation doesnt actually fit in the economy sized parking spots or "stop and rob" drive thru. I bundle up and head thru the Walmart parking lot. On my mind? COFFEE!!! Grab cart, head for coffee pot isle.... wait, I need facial cleansers, ummm, hot cocoa, crackers, bottled water, coffee, little thing to hold credit cards..... "Oh!!! These slippers are cute!" "I hope the have cherries in produce" Dash in that direction Score! $50 a pound btw. LoL I'm looking at my cart now going through to mke sure I got everything I needed on this trip because it's a long cold walk back through the afformentioned parking lot.... " Oh yummy! Potato salad!" Time to check out. I head towards the registers and see a lane open Score again! Crap!..... coffee maker! I have one thing on my side here. This Walmart is easy to maneuver. Its layout is actually nice and not confusing like some. "Ah ha!" Just what I came in here for. I found an open register, no waiting. How wonderful! The clerk was nice and friendly. Although he did throng my cherries up as grapes at first. A huge bargain for me then corrected his error. And charged me the $50 for them instead of $1.50. I piled everything into my cart and headed out the door. Nice going WALMART. You made this chics frozen Saturday morning manageable. Always smile and stay safe. If it were possible I'd give this wretched store zero stars. This location is so dirty, the manager is clueless and rude while delivering her incorrect information. I've been a cheerleader for Walmart and they're promotions however after today's experience not only will I not encourage others to go there- I think our family will be on a Walmart hiatus. Decided to check out this Walmart since I was in the neighborhood (on my way to the nearby Costco). I always forget it's there because it's rather hidden from view from the main streets (it's at the NE corner of Metcalf and 119th St.). The grocery section seemed nice -- decent and attractive selection of produce and a fair selection in the meat department. Not sure it's much better than the SuperTarget a couple of blocks away. While in the housewares department I found a couple of attractive throw pillows for my sofa that look like raw silk for only $10 apiece and I ended up picking up some things in the meat department, too -- since I'm usually cooking for one I don't need huge packages of stuff and Walmart actually had some moderately sized choices. Often things are only available in much larger "family packs" at some of the other supermarkets. I probably wouldn't make a pilgrimage to shop here, but if you're going to be in the 119th and Metcalf shopping area anyway and are hunting for bargains you should probably check out this Walmart along with the other stores in the area. This store is open 24 hours a day (although the pharmacy and a few sections do have closing hours). Good to know if you have a late-night shopping urge! And if you get hungry there's a 24-hour IHOP in the same shopping complex. Something else for night-owls! read more

Man, this Walmart is a mess! There was no door greeter. There was a motorized shopping cart for the physically impaired sitting near the entrance (inside the store) which had a low battery and was beeping loudly and incessantly. It was annoying, but not one employee went over there to turn it off, plug it in, move it to the back, or whatever it is they do with it to get it to stop chirping. The mens bathroom...a whole new topic. I have always known Walmart to do routine restroom checks and maintain a decent lavatory facility similar to what you see at Quik Trip. Not at this location. This is the only Super Walmart I have ever been in where the bathrooms are located in the rear of the store (no pun intended), and you can tell it gets neglected. It's gotta be an "out of site, out of mind" type of thing. I walked in to use the facilities after my mouse in a maze feeling of locating where it was. The stench of urine was so thick and overbearing that it literally cut my breath off. I had to use my shirt and jacket as a breathing screen so I could handle by business and get out ASAP. It was worse than the bathroom at some of the nastiest truck stops and dive bars I have encountered in my days. There was a guy trying to locate a manager to let them know that he just witnessed someone shoplift 2 X-Box gaming consoles. This poor guy must have felt like a Walmartian asking an Earthling to take him to their leader...none of the stock guys spoke English to be able to help him and the manager was nowhere to be found. Maybe he died of asphyxiation in the mens room? The stock people act like you are in their way while you shop. We usually go to this location late at night, so we've never really had any issues here. This was our first trip going in around mid-evening. Very much in disarray, long lines, drone personality cashiers, loud noises, stock people everywhere, and the gnarly bathrooms. I finally understand why Walmart is becoming the land of the lost. read more

Not my most favorite location but garden center seems to work for my wife. Seems to be a good variety of plants at somewhat competitive prices. The store was converted from a regular Walmart (no groceries) from back in the day before they ruled the (general store) universe. It's as though each department is somewhat abbreviated. I frequent this location quite often. It has a good selection with it being a Supercenter. I have never had issues here and considering it is a Wal-Mart, it is not the worse place to shop. Their newer self-checkout area is a huge bonus. The clerk working there is usually attentive and friendly. The registers are easy to use and extremely time-efficient. The parking lot is typically littered with carts and it makes you hesitant to park in most areas. An overall 4 rating strictly on it being Wal-Mart ans having visited much worse locations. read more

This store does not seem to care about long line of Customers waiting at service desk. All we hear is a sorry excuse about no one left to anything else....Customers are already checking themselves out so would it hurt to get an extra person to stop people from waiting an hour or more in line? read more

We went to this location today to make things a little bit easier or so we thought. We thought it appeared the entrance was closed and so we went into the exit with a few other people prior to us. There was some older grumpy man with gray hair and a mask and he let everybody else by without saying anything. I was hobbling due to a prior accident I was on my way to get a motorized cart. The grumpy old man a.k.a. door Nazi stood in front of me and my husband and pointed to the exit and entrance and make sure we know which door to go in and out of and then Asked if we got it/understood that the entrance was actually entrance and not closed off we would've use the entrance. I felt as if the door Nazi chose to bully us because he saw me limping. It was absolutely wrong of him to stop in front of me so I had to stop when I'm already in pain to listen to his Barating exclamation entrance and exit. I feel he could have used words that he should have been taught as a child those words are please and thank you. I really don't care to shop at Walmart if I don't have to. The power bestowed upon this door Nazi has gone to his head and he has obviously lost basic communication skills in how to use words politely. Yes I understand there is a pandemic. I will literally drive 15 minutes out of the way to go to a decent Walmart and avoid this one at all costs. They never have what I need, it's always dirty and you may or may not get ran over in the parking lot. This place is a freaking mad house. read more

This is by far the most disorganized WalMart I have ever been to. On several occasions we have purchased food past it's expiration date, such as ham and Turkey. This Wal-Mart constantly has low levels of certain products. You may think because of being in High traffic area, however, I have visited many WalMart's for years and I have never experienced such disorganization. Their stocking system lacks and does not fall into your typical Wal-Mart standard. If I can, I will drive to a further WalMart location when I am doing a full grocery shopping. read more

I just moved to Overland Park and started going to this Walmart and every time I go it's been awful. Customer service sucks. I walked up to an open check out aisle and the lady working was talking to other coworkers and completely ignored me. I had to walk over and go to the self check out. The second time I went the lady was very rude and seemed like she hated her job. Then as I was trying to walk out of the store the automatic doors weren't working so we were stuck in there! Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else if you can. read more

this place is close to several places that I go to, I know what I want, I go in and grab and leave, the dude at the self check out says thank you to all that leave that area, talk to several employees at the self check out and very friendly and helpful too, Yes, traffic is bad but so is lots of other places too and u don't here them complaining ,If u go at a busy time, Yes it can be bad, the greeter as u walk in says hi or try to if not helping other customers, customer service line can be long here, the store looks clean and the bathrooms are not bad the times I have gone into them. the set up the store is different, the yelp hours are wrong and its funny that i can go in at 8pm to shop when it says closed so hopefully Yelp will get on the ball to change the hours read more

Automotive department called several hours after we dropped off our vehicle saying they couldn't get the hood to open. My husband went up to see what was going on (he's never had issues before) and found the handle broken. They're refusing to fix the handle and we still need an oil change. Wasted our whole Saturday without a vehicle for nothing. Employees were also very arrogant. read more

I went here on a Sunday morning really hoping to get my daughter an 18" bike that I found on Wal-Mart's website. It was not on display. I found the assistant manager Martha, and she was very helpful. She went in the back and found it and brought it out to me. My daughter loves the bike. I'm so glad this Walmart has such a good selection of bikes. Thank you! read more

There is SO MUCH dislike for this place. Maybe its the insane parking lot, with people walking 3-4 wide down the center of the aisles, or maybe its the narrow aisles inside that make shopping hectic. Maybe its that they only ever seem to have 2 check out lanes open at a time.. either way, my blood pressure sky-rockets anytime going to this place is even mentioned. read more

I have been shopping at this Walmart for more than 15 years. It was remodeled a few years ago to include a full grocery section. During that remodel, they redesigned the parking lot, which made it harder to find a close-in, non-handicapped parking spot. Since they did not increase the size of the store, there is less retail space. At first, there were problems with items out of stock, but I haven't seen that lately. I like to shop here because the prices are cheaper than Target for retail items and the regular prices for grocery are cheaper than Price Chopper. However, I still do most of my grocery shopping at Price Chopper, as their specials are cheaper. The clientele has degraded over the years, but it is Wal-mart, so what do you expect? The store is clean, so get over it! read more

This Walmart has been renovated since the last review. It contains a more extensive grocery section now. It's not as sketchy as some of the other Walmarts out there (I believe this is mostly because of its geographic location). It definitely rivals the Super Target down the street now. read more

Typically I hate Walmart and avoid it like the plague. This one, however, is a nice surprise. It was very clean and had a logical, non-infuriating layout that I've never seen before yet I found everything easier than normal! It was well stocked and I experienced team members actually approach me to see if I needed help when I did need it. The checkout had no wait, the cashier bagged our items with care, and was even friendly. I returned an item smoothly and visited the vision center where I received the same pleasant ness. Employees are rude. I asked 8 Walmart sales personnel to help me find a product; 2 had earphones plugged in to their cellphones and refused to acknowledge me. 1 was talking on her phone and, when I asked her a question, ignored me. 5 said, "I don't know" and walked away. I called customer service while I was in the phone and no one answered. There was a time when sales personnel at Walmart would stop what they were doing and take you to the product. If they didn't know, they'd find out. Those days are long over. I went to Target and found the assistance I needed. Target stores are cleaner, have more variety, and the sales personnel are kind and helpful. Thank you, Walmart, for helping me find Target. read more

I pulled up in the reserved parking for pick up orders and called the store. Nobody ever answered so I went inside. I waited in line and all of the customers were following social distancing but one associate kept walking up next to me for no reason when she could have walked six feet to either side of me but chose not to. I moved out of the way twice and she never said excuse me. Once I got help, they informed me I was not in the correct line for online pick up. The woman at the services desk pointed me to the online pick up kiosk. I got to the kiosk in time to read that online pick up is only from 8am-8pm and it was now 8:04pm. Restricted pick up hours were not included in the message that I had to pick up my order by a specific day and I wouldn't have a day off until AFTER their deadline. The ONLY REASON I even placed this order online is because I drove 30 minutes to pick up a present that only this store had and it wasn't even on the shelf! read more

Another Walmart with sparse shelves. Due to the smaller size they've never had the best selection to begin with. Lines are always long. Store is set up bizarre. You almost have to cut through the check-out lines to get to the main aisle. Also, I've never experienced such lazy employees at the Deli. One wouldn't even slice up some deli meat because they "weren't open yet". Complained to the check-out gal who said they've been open for 2 hours? Saw her call over a manager after we left. I have been going through a horrific experience with a malfunctioning GE microwave and it's still not totally resolved! I called Walmart customer service, who took a long time to give me the correct GE manufacturer phone number to call. Then, they adamently told me that even though it's still under a 1 yr warranty (bought in June 2016) and malfunctioned over last few days recently, that since it was slightly over their 90 day return policy (4 months instead of 3 months), they would not have anything to do with returning and/or exchanging it, and that I had to contact GE, the manufacturer. Walmart management went on to reassure me that GE would send me the big and free shipping labels to send back my microwave. When I contacted GE today, they told me that despite what Walmart told me, that Walmart is supposed to honor the 1 yr warranty and provide me with a box and free shipping labels to send back my malfunctioning microwave and then they would send me a new microwave, identical to the last one. Therefore, Walmart told me that GE would do precisely what THEY themselves were supposed to do for me. Also, GE gave me the Walmart Customer Relations phone number, to which I was never given last night by Walmart management. I figured that was not a good option since the same thing would happen again (to have them ship me an identical new one). GE is getting me taken care of, though, by sending me info to buy another GE microwave from my store of choice elsewhere (doesn't have to be Walmart) and will reimburse me in about 6-8 weeks. I don't appreciate the shoddy quality of microwaves at Walmart nor them "passing the buck", not taking any responsibility/ownership for this ordeal and sending me on to deal with the GE manufacturer directly, when they (Walmart) could have and should have taken care of me as a customer. read more

I was extremely disappointed by the experience I received at customer service here last week. I had an unreceipted return and simply needed to return the item for another like item- the associate attempted to tell me it could not be returned even though it had not used and mentioned nothing about putting it on store credit. Having worked in high-end retail stores for over 7 years I was appalled at the gentleman's inability to both empathetically relate and follow policy for a regular customer. I took my return and left. I have had wonderful experiences with other associates at this location but I will not return unless I absolutely need. I will make another location "my Walmart". read more

Because of my insurance I have to use this pharmacy. 9 times out of 10 my trip here is a complete let down. Whether it be forgetting to fill one of my two scripts (which made me wait an addition 20min on top of the 30min), or not charging my insurance the correct amount- I am always pissed off leaving here!! read more

Had a really good experience shopping at this Walmart today! It was very clean! And the customer service was awesome! I was all by myself with two children (three years, and three months). They helped me carry my groceries out, and the cashier even chased me down because I forgot my receipt! Thanks Pam and Alisha! My only complaint would be that it's not the best selection. I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to open a case to get a game out. It was 11 o'clock and it wasn't busy at all. There were workers standing around talking, including managers. Wasn't too bad of an experience, quick enough. The cahier was scanning my 4 50ct packages of cups totaling approx. $11 and some change ...I had a $100 bill handy and wanted to pay cash. She stopped and stared at it like she didn't know what it was..and said ' I don't think I can take that?" I'm just kinda thinking "what, ?" she said she doesn't think she can give me enough change. I'm really not picky on how I am given change back, I'll take whatever works, but she seemed like she didn't know how to give change back for it. So I just used my card instead..which ofcourse ends up costing the company money. It was around 11:40am, so I would think she would have had enough cash paying customers for the till, or even if it was a fresh till, have enough to break a $100. read more

It took 3 weeks for them to get tires. They "forgot" to call and tell us they were in. 4 hours to put on 4 new tires. Obviously they think a customer's time is not worth anything. read more
