I come into just pick up my contact lenses which is usually a fast process instead this walmart only had one employee working so I had to stand around for 45 minutes before I even got helped. Training Opportunity for one emp who should know better??? Today I was trying to pay for 9 items at the self-serve checkout when I realized I didn't have my eye-glasses with me so I couldn't see what I was doing. I asked the one employee who appeared to be in charge if she could help me and she proceeded to ignore me even though she was just standing their with a scowl on her face doing nothing. Since it was 113 degrees outside I said to myself if I can't get anyone else to help ring up my items and I have to waste time walking out to my car to get my glasses then come back I'll just set the 12 items down and forget the purchase. Just as I was about to leave the items at the self serve checkout and exit the store I saw another employee cutting thru the self check out area so I explained my dilemma to her and after listening without hesitation she smiled and quickly proceeded to restore my waning confidence in your "Brand " by showing me what she could and was willing to do for me by ringing up my order on my credit card instead of ignoring me like the other Walmart employee did". After seeing her name tag I want to extend "Kudos" to Omayra who's excellent customer service made me feel like my business mattered by enthusiastically seizing the opportunity to earn my future business. Please encourage her successful "Customer Retention" action for your Paradise Valley AZ Walmart Supercenter by how her actions prompted this "Positive Yelp"! As far as Wal-Mart stores go in the area, this is the nicest. Since its newer built, the floor plan seems to make more sense. They also have a huge grocery section which is nice. The store seems clean and I haven't run into any shady folk in the parking lot. Super busy, so be prepared to wait in lines. read more

Every time there is a DVD movie release, the manager does NOT get the movies out on the shelves for us early birds that stop on the way to work. First with Avengers Infinity War and now again with Avengers Endgame. Tuesday AM 8/13/19 is the release date... not whenever the manager of the department feels like. Last time I will come here... even though its on my way to work... not worth it. And you can never find anyone that early in the morning to help either. read more

This place has 2 stars for a reason. There needs to be management/leadership changes here at this location desperately. Rude to their customers and DON'T SUPPORT THE LOCAL COMMUNITY and cares less of losing business. We went to purchase hundreds of dollars of supplies for children for the local community that are in desperate need. I heard other Wal-Marts were giving some sort of small discount toward the supplies (especially with a large purchase like this). I asked for a manager to get the approval and the "customer service lead?" TONY wouldn't even be helpful and said I've never heard of that so I asked for him to ask the store manager, which at the time he wouldn't even give me her name. The store manager wasn't in, so there was an "Assistant Store Manager," KISHA, that not only said quickly "no" once, but twice and said (and I quote from a local Walmart store manager), "I've been here for 14 years and we've never supported charities or donations, never, and I'm not now." So, got her supervisors name and the way KISHA acted and smirky tone, doesn't sound like her manager is going to care either. Don't go to this Walmart if you have value of others that are good to the community. SHAMEFUL! To TARGET we go with our $500+ purchase that WILL give us a small 10% discount in support to kids that need it. If Walmart reads reviews take a look at this location and take action on management and clean house. Old school thinking (which is against Walmart's business model right?), "how we have always done it" mentality and extremely POOR and RUDE customer service. It's not the "no" that's upsetting, it's the way they treat people, their customers that pay their paychecks and puts fluff in the profit margin. By the way, Target has a charity program and can help with any of your efforts to supporting community needs. They gave us a 10% discount (waived taxes for a charity). TARGET increased the amount of supplies we were able to purchase for the kids. TARGET employees and management were caring, respectful and kind. What a jerk the manager was when I asked her to honor the signage posted. I had taken photos to show the cashier in case there was confusion as the item seemed incredibly well priced... and as I expected- I had difficulty with the cashier. The cashier called the manager over, but she was too busy to come over because she was talking to another manager. They're definitely not into customer service. I called the manager over myself and so she finally came. I explained the situation and she said she had to go look for herself. Apparently, someone had placed an entire palette in the wrong place... and it was being moved through the store on said palette along with some extras. She came back and actually yelled at me (to where I reminded her I was not yelling at her) and I'd appreciate her not yelling at me. It took her a few moments to register my comment and then she apologized while continuing to deny my request to have the price honored. I purchased the items anyway. To add insult to injury, I was stopped by security on the way out and asked for my receipt. WTH! He gave me a lame excuse. Pull your videos Walmart and watch it all. JERKS! read more

I don't know where to begin with my experiences at a Walmart store. This store is the absolute worst of the worst when it comes to customer service. I went in to return a harness for my dog because it would not sit properly on my dog. I brought the product in WITH THE RECEIPT to do my return. When I finally got assistance at the customer service, where there was one person working the register and four other wandering aimlessly, the older gentleman who was working the register could not do my return because I pulled the tags off. The gentleman told me I NEEDED TO GO find the similar product so that HE COULD DO THE RETURN. Mind you again there where 4 other healthy employees who could have walked back there... you know like a customer service desk usually suggests. So instead I WALKED back to the other side of the store with my INJURED KNEE to find, like in every Walmart, the shelf was empty of what I was looking for. When I walked back to the customer service desk, I asked for a manager to help assist the return. Virginia, who was the assistant manager on duty came to what I had hoped was to figure this out, she looked completely clueless as to how we could do such a simple return. I then had to wait another 10 mins for the gentleman to finish with other customers while the same 4 employees wandered aimlessly. After I was finally at the register, the manager, the older gentleman AND one of the aimless wanderers could figure out the difference between a LEASH and a HARNESS. We finally get the return cruising around we get to the payment situation. Here's where things get interesting. HE asked if I wanted the money returned to my card or if I wanted store credit. Now as a logical person who has worked for his money, I wanted MY MONEY back not stuck at Walmart. He claimed to have attempted to send the money back but it apparently failed due to some B.S. reason and continued to put the money on a store credit. MIND YOU HE NEVER ASKED ME IF I HAD MY CARD. I argued with the man for 5 mins, I kid you not, on how we can get the money. I told him that he has the receipt so either put it back on MY CARD or give me CASH. We finally got him to put the money back on my card and i was never so happy to finally leave a Walmart store. I AM SOOOOO SICK AND TIRED OF THE WAY THAT I HAVE BEEN TREATED IN WALMART STORE. I have began to spend less and less each year at these stores because WHY WOULD I SPEND MY HARD EARNED MONEY IN A STORE THAT HAS NO RESPECT FOR ITS CUSTOMERS AND TRIES TO CHEAT THEM OUT OF THEIR MONEY. It's a Walmart. This one just happens to be older, smaller, and needs a makeover. Don't expect too much since the selection is small. If you want groceries or baked goods go elsewhere! If you work behind a customer service counter your job is to be polite and provide a service. Not be rude and demeaning to your customer. They fix it every night but it breaks anyway. The last time I called the store manager over. Didn't care. "OH, It doesn't happen that often". What? FOUR TIMES. When I told her I was going to complain she said go ahead. When I told her I was going to put it out on social media she said "We don't care about social media." Overall, a pretty poor experience. Workers are rude, always seems pretty messy (esp. the produce department) there's empty boxes laying all of the floor, produce that's been dropped and looks like it's been sitting there all day. The front door workers are very unfriendly, when it's their job to do the opposite. They have a nice attentive staff at the front desk. However the reason for the review is for the auto workers. The younger gentleman is incredibly rude and has no idea how to deal with customers. I would recommend staying away from the auto center. He talked to me like he was my boss and I needed to answer to him. When this store first opened it was fabulous. Things have changed. Now you have to wait in long lines, the cashiers are rude and the pharmacy staff is rude. I witnessed an elderly woman today asking why the cashier did not put her bags into the cart. The cashier sarcastically said, WE DON'T DO THAT. Angered that the woman had asked the question, the cashier started throwing the packages into the bags. The woman said, Can you please not throw my things? The cashier said sarcastically, I AM NOT. ( Which she was, because i saw it ) The woman then asked for the manager and the cashier gestured and said, "OH, she 's over there." Couldn't the cashier have just helped the woman initially? She clearly looked like she could use some assistance. I was appalled and went to the manager myself. She said she would take care of it. Some how, I doubt it. I feel that it is fitting that their picture on here is of a toilet. I didn't expect great service from Walmart but the service I got wasn't even good. There was no one around to help at all. I went to try on some swim suits in a pinch for time and I had to wait around forever at the dressing room just to be told I couldn't be helped. The random sweeper told me the dressing rooms had been closed for hours (no signs or anything). What's the point of closing the fitting rooms four hours before the store actually closes? We also couldn't fond half the stuff we were looking for but there was no one at all to help us. I'm dissapointed even for Walmart. read more

wow. I was trying to return some outdoor items to this walmart and it took FOREVER. First I was told to go to the desk near the outdoor and auto center and I went there and then I was told to go to the customer service desk for normal returns. The whole process took me over half an hour. The line was VERY long. This store needs more staff, at least in the customer service area. I was told normally they do have more staff on weekdays. Horrible customer service!!! Went in to shop some rings and no one was there after we saw a lady come on to her shift we thought she was going to help us. After a few minutes another lady came by and informed us that she needed to get keys. It took us another 10 minutes to realize she was not coming back. In a day and age with everyone connected it should have not taken this long to lose a customer. Again another reason why companies are doing without people and having machines take over. Minimum wage is currently at $10.50/hr. and going up to $12/hr. by 2020 and no one wants to work harder. Very disappointed I'll do my shopping at Target instead!!! read more

It is not a Wal-Mart Supercenter such as the one on Northsight, but it does have groceries. I would describe it as a Wal-Mart Mini Supercenter. It has all the departments of the supercenter except the tires, garden center, optical department, and a McDonald's. In some cases I find they carry less inventory or selection. It is only 2 miles from my house, so I go there almost every day. This I feel qualifies my review. The employees know us. If we come without our children, they always ask where they are. They remember our purchases! They ask my kids how their new "whatever" is working out. They ask if you found everything alright, and when you say no, they actually take note of what it was you couldn't find. How do I know this? Because the next day I went back to that same checker and told her I couldn't find Nori sheets and she let me know that she was going to let them know upstairs so they could add it to the request for wasabi powder I asked for yesterday. And the greatest thing that not many people know because they don't advertise it is their ad matching. I bring in the current grocery store ads from the other stores and tell them at the checkout what price the item is on sale for at "Fry's" or "Sprouts" etc, and they give it to me for that price. So, I do the majority of my shopping there. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because I have to buy my seafood elsewhere. All of theirs is frozen except for a small counter, but I don't like the quality level. I find it difficult to find good seafood here in the desert unless I want to pay for it at Whole Foods. There are sometimes special items that I can't find there, so I must go to Food City for a special Mexican herb or spice, or Trader Joe's for a $2.99 basil plant, but for the generic staple items, I think it's my best bet. I can buy groceries, camping supplies, shampoo, school supplies, and clothes all in one stop. read more

I used to go to this walmart all the time because I had friendly service then tonight I walked into walmart, and less then 3 minutes from the point I stepped through the door and walked over to an isle, I was accused of stealing. Not only accused in general but accused that the MANAGER saw it happen. Mind you yes I do own a bigger bag, but that is because it is my school bag and purse therefore I keep all of my SCHOOL stuff in it. The woman who accused me, whom of which was NOT the manager very rudely asked to look in my bag which I showed her after telling her that it is my SCHOOL bag, she saw my binder and automatically asked to see the receipt. Now I don't carry every single receipt from every store because that's ridiculous. So I continued to tell her that it's my school bag, I purchased these things when I started school, She then continued to rudely accuse me and tell me I was being watched multiple times, to which I told her feel free to watch me because I didn't and I am not going to steal anything. My friend and I then had 3 walmart sales associates in an isle at all times with us, repeatedly asking if we need "help". After we payed for the items we did have we left and they continued to watch us as we walked out the door and even after we had walked to our car there were to employees watching us. I do not take kindly to being falsely accused of something as serious as stealing. An also being treated so badly by employees. I will be calling and complaining. read more

This Tatum and Cactus store has the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my entire life. I did my grocery shopping after work. The cashier didn't give me all my grocery bags. I even asked her if I had everything because they use that rotating counter that holds the plastic bags. It wasn't until after my 20 minute ride home I realized quite a few major items including meat and dairy were missing. I tried calling the store and let the phone ring 60 times and then hung up and tried again. Finally I decided to connect to electronics when I got someone who transferred me to the manager with 25 more rings before the circled back to electronics. At this point I finally got a manager by the name of Justin. The worst customer service from this so-called manager. I told him I was on my way and I was just at the corner pulling into the parking lot when he said he would try and locate my groceries for me. I went in to the store and he's nowhere to be found. The cashier turns on her blinking light and nobody ever comes to the front. Finally a cashier who was coming back from break asked if I needed something and I told her I was waiting for the manager so I could pick up my groceries. She pointed to bags of groceries sitting on the cash register. Still manager Justin nowhere to be found. I grab my groceries that had now been sitting out for over a half an hour. On my way out to my car I called manager Justin to let him know that he has the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life and all he could say was sorry. No empathy whatsoever I just spent 45 minutes driving back-and-forth for groceries. So I had the most despicable experience at Walmart on Tatum and Cactus.... I purchased my Red Bull at a gas station, and walked into Walmart... did my shopping, went to check out and purchased my items (mind you, a semi-full cart of items!!) at the self-check out lane. As I'm walking out, the door associate (JESSE) asks to see my receipt. No big deal. I get it, its their job and theft happens.. ‍ It's not the safest walmart and they've had problems with theft... my issue lies with the way this associate (JESSE) handled the situation... he asks if I had the receipt from the other store? NO! Who buys soda, and then brings a receipt?? What IF you bought the drink from a vending machine? Or brought the can from home?? How is anyone supposed to carry a receipt?? So does this mean you're never allowed to a store with a drink in ARIZONA?? Give me a break! He then grabs my soda, around the mouth piece and squeezes to see if its full or not?! Like that is supposed to "prove" whether I stole it or not! Ha... At this point, I asked to speak with his store manager. He tells me, "Go ahead, find him" The audacity!! I tell him he needs to bring the manager, and he says "no, you have to find him"! Thankfully the girl at checkout calls the manager, TONY, over... He's no help! As a MANAGER, you're supposed to handle the situation differently... instead he sides with Jesse, and argues with me that I can still drink the soda, that its fine if he touched it because how else do I expect items to be shelved? It does not matter!! Point being is you don't touch other people's personal items!! I tell him to check the security cameras that it would show that I purchased it... I really feel like they stereotyped me. I was so furious and probably NOT the wisest, or smart decision but I threw the red bull at TONY. HA... I'm sorry but I just couldn't contain myself... If you could give no stars I would have. First of all, the place is a dump, the staff is unfriendly and they have idiots at the registers. I go to self checkout for that reason! I was having trouble putting a coupon in and called for help. After several tries the cashier said that I couldn't use it, it doesn't work! Really?? So I told him the coupon came off the product and that they might want to pull the 40 boxes that have the coupon on it saying redeem not at the register. Since he couldn't do it, I had to take my bagged items and go to a register. I should have just walked out with $50 dollars worth of product since it had already been scanned. Then, I asked to speak to a manager, which at that point a 20 yr. old said she is one of the managers - right!! I told her what happened and she didn't even seem to care and looked confused. My goal now to is steal from this store as much and often as I can - cuz it seems pretty easy, since no one cares!!! read more

The most horrible shopping experience in the U.S. ever. Being 41 years old, I wanted to buy one bottle of o good $20 wine with my friends (37 and 34 years old). Afterbeung asked to show our photo IDs we showed our passports. The cashier was so incapable of finding our birth dates (as a reminder every passport has all fields labeled in several languages including Englush) that she got rude and denied us to buy the wine, argueing that Walmart only accepts U.S. issued IDs as a proof of age for buying alcohol. When we complained to her manager, she confirmed that it's Walmart's policy, saying "I don't know where in the policy it is written but I know it's there." Then my other friend successfully proven hus age to another cashier (obviosly smarter one) and almost paid, when the rude cashier noticed it and sent the manager there to stop him, saying it's against policy. Keeping such rude staff is a great way to lose sales... read more

Will never shop again. They refused to exchange a 2 yr 11 month old battery (purchased 12/13) because they claim it was purchased in 2009. Very rude Assistant Manager who basically accused us of stealing a sticker 3 years ago to make it look like the battery was from 2013 instead of 2008. Placed order online for item to be delivered to this store. Have done this many times at other walmarts with no problem. Item was to be delivered 11/11/14. Received email it was going to be a day late. Then received no communication for over a week though item was delivered and signed for at store 11/12/14 according to UPS. Called customer service and was ignored, drove to the store, told it wasn't delivered, waited another weekend, called again, put on hold for 30 minutes. Still no communication on status. VERY dissatisfied. Missed two ebay auctions or would have had item from amazon over a week ago. Now money is tied up in a refund that I had to initiate. Don't know if I would have ever been informed about item's status. A comparable item was not offered though they appear to be available on the website nor an explanation or apology. Terrible experience. Would not recommend this location at all! read more
