Every now and then when searching for specific items, I may stop by Ross. Only on a few visit, I learned that the store's full name is Ross Dress for Less. It's a store that for more than forty years has been selling high quality items and specialty store brands at bargain prices. Ross's secret is the power of saving. As the nation's largest off-price retail chain, they have a great deal of purchasing power. They believe in working directly with manufacturers to negotiate the best deals. They then have a "no frills" store that passes the savings onto customers. I have a Ross store near where I live, and just last year, I purchased some items for an adopt-a-family program so that I could buy more items for less. I am planning another outing to Ross this upcoming week. This past week, I went by to plan for my trip and looked around. I better familiarized myself with the different departments as the store layout has changed over the past year. The staff were friendly and greeted me upon my arrival and were available throughout the store. When I purchase items, the line moves very quickly. There is a nice variety of items, and all items are labeled well to show both the original price or comparison price along with the actual new price. On my recent visit I noticed how clean and well organized this store was, but as i wandered the aisles it seemed like they had less stock than usual. They had a lot of Halloween items, but the shoe selection was noticeably sparse. Housewares had empty space. Part of my reason for this visit was for a return. The cashier was friendly and handled things efficiently. I guess i was just surprised that I could spend a half hour in a Ross and not find anything to buy. read more

I bought 3 items. Their changing room is closed. All items must go back. What's the difference if you try on at the store or home re: Covid? This is a severe inconvenience for me to have to return everything. There are approximately 2 Covid cases to every 10,000 people. It's time to get the masks off and open the changing rooms. Went into the store yesterday and the man at the check out with brown hair was rushing so much that he didn't scan an item with a sensor so when I went to leave the alarm went off, embarrassing me. I had to go back to the counter when he was already scanning and helping another customer, pay for my item and then leave. He did say he didn't see the other item and it's because he was rushing trying to be fast. :/ read more

Like most locations, you have to spend some time going through stuff to find things that are worth purchasing. Not really my "go to" place to find something particular. But when I some time and a few things that have been on my list a while, Ross is the right place. This one was a little light on stock at the moment, many bare shelves. read more

Stopped in here on Wednesday, 5-15-19 at about 4:30, as I was early meeting friends for happy hour at Z tejas. The first thing I noticed is that the shelves and racks were sparsely stocked. No biggie, I still walked around and ended up finding two shirts I liked. I went to the checkout and overheard a male employee (dark hair, wearing black glasses) chiding a male customer who was trying on clothes in the dressing stall at the front of the store that apparently was closed. This employee was very rude to this customer, stormed off in a hissy fit, while loudly saying, "There is a sign that says closed. Learn to read." WTH? I placed the shirts I was going to buy back on the rack, and walked out, never to return. If this is the way customers are treated here, I will spend my hard earned money elsewhere. read more

Very clean store and very kind employees. Their shelves were a little sparse, as far as being well stocked, but the customer service was excellent. They even greet you when you come in through the door initially. The selection that they did have in terms of what I was looking for was varied, and I really appreciated having that selection to choose from. I enjoyed the ability to be able to purchase clothes at a reasonable cost. I know many of my family members do as well. This location is conveniently located at Tatum and Shea. On the way to meet a friend for dinner The Better Half decided that she needed some hair accessory or something like that.....so we made a quick stop here to pick it up. Normally, the lines are pretty long at a Ross, but for some reason this place was empty. I told her to hurry up before the line got long as the cashiers at Ross are notoriously slow. I do not know what should be the expectation for a Ross store, certainly not super excellent customer care. I have been visiting this store for a few years now and I have always had good service, not always super friendly, but it meets my expectations. Specially for returns, as I have returned items quite a few times. If you have a receipt, and it is within 30 days of your purchase, you can get your money back. Otherwise you can get store credit (no receipt, past 30 days, etc.) Just be informed if you do not have a receipt you will only get whatever was the lowest price in their records for that item. Just today went to return some items and Meriam took really good care of me. She was very friendly and professional. read more

One of the higher quality Ross stores around. I worked here years ago and was satisfied with how clean and organized everything is. Cashiers are helpful and efficient, good selection of merchandise, and fitting rooms are what you expect. They now have two stalls towards the front of the store for people to try on items quickly. read more

I had never been to this specific Ross before and was pleasantly surprised when I stopped by this weekend. I wanted to grab some candles (I'm suddenly addicted) and they had a rather large selection. All sorts of sizes and smells, it was fun to pick and choose. The entire store is rather large and easy to navigate. I didn't do much browsing, but this Ross seems to have way more stuff than a few others I'd been to. Also, it was pretty clean. (Didn't go into the changing rooms though, which can be a real sign on cleanliness.) Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. I didn't have to wait long in line, which is definitely a plus! If you really look you can find nice clothes, but most of the stuff is cheap and shrinks the wrong way in the wash. I like coming here just because I know everything's going to be cheap anyway. I love the panties and bras. So many to choose from, and most of them are fun (or funny). Lots of cute shoes, too. Purses...meh. I've probably bought 1 or 2 purses here, but I don't usually check because I haven't seen anything to my liking too many times. read more

Came into the store today at 8:30am. JODI was behind the first register. She noticed my bag and asked if I had a return to do. I told her yes. She rolled her eyes, huffed, and finished chewing her chocolate donut (which was sitting on a napkin on her register...gross). I was surprised by her reaction, so I asked if I should do the return later because she seemed frustrated. She said no, as she forcefully started moving things behind the counter, and said that she didn't know where she would put everything. Then when she had to staple my old receipt and the new one together, she couldn't find the stapler. She again huffed and made it a point to say "We've literally been open for 4 minutes and I don't know where anything is." First, the store is open and I should be greeted like I usually am at the Desert Ridge store where I usually shop. Second, it is not my problem that I had a return. She should be prepared to handle any transaction if the store is open. Third, I will never go back to this location. Jodi ruined it. Horrible customer service by JODI. No greeting, huffing that I caused JODI to do a return, and eating at the counter. Again...gross. Management needs to train their employees to be more like the Desert Ridge location. read more
