I brought some clothes in freshly washed. Later they gave me my clothes back, explaining that it was out of style or had too much wear and tear. However, the items looked untouched. I am assuming they didn't even go through it and were just giving me an excuse. I have shopped at this location multiple times, and I can assure you my items were in the same condition as what they normally sell, so I am very confused. There is always a feeling of hostility from the workers at this location. After reading similar reviews, I am seeing that their treatment towards customers is starting to feel biased, which is unfortunate. I gave this place four stars instead of five because it is very rare for them to take any clothes you bring in (I know so many people bring in clothes so I get it but still sad), and some clothes are not a good deal, you have to be diligent and look through it all. However, I have found some pretty amazing finds from dresses to shirts to jeans. The store is very clean and they have a good number of dressing rooms and will let you try on as many clothes as you want (10 at a time, rest on the door). The place is staffed with high schoolers and they've all been nice. I like how sometimes they dress mannequins with outfits, I like seeing the inspiration! read more

Came in only for a very specific need which unfortunately just couldn't be found here. I'm not big on wearing hand me downs unless it's casual clothes I'd wear around my house or to the dog park for instance. So looking for a cocktail dress that I will never wear again just not a fun experience to begin with! However; I was pretty impressed with the selection of this store! Very organized and visually appealing. Lots to look through and it seemed like the owner must care about the cleanliness and appearance of her shop! The think I'd come back here for casual clothes. I normally only go to Uptown Cheapskate. The other Plato's I went to in Scottsdale was terrible and messy. COME at your OWN RISK There's no point driving here and trying to make what little cash for name brand items stuff you own - some with even Tags on them! Which is really sad cause they don't even have the best INVENTORY- most gross items on their racks are from SHEIN - yikes! My friend Summar warned me that she tried selling a pair of once worn Jordan's here and they low-balled her for a $140 pair of shoes! Well she was absolutely right! I took in my Nordstrom items (BP brand/freepeople,ALO and Paige jeans) here as well as some spring floral dresses and they had the AUDACITY to OFFER $3 for each item! When you know they are gonna tag my clothes for $18-20++ You're better off selling online at DEPOP or POSHMARk. I used to love coming here before Covid now that they had a change of staff- most high schoolers won't even take time and effort to actually look and SORT my organized bins and pretty much take 3 items out of 20! The Scottsdale location is much better and employees are well trained-it's just further from me and I really have to spend a chunk of my day going there. . I would rather make the drive in Scottsdale than this DUMPY location. The employees are very cold and NOT helpful when it comes to interacting with their customers! Took in a few bags on a Tuesday where they were slow and sat in my car to wait for them to go through my buy. Guess they didn't know I could see them sort my clothes through the window because I watched a guy sort about half, then leave to go help someone else, and a new girl come to continue the buy. She didn't even go through all the items. She pulled them out of the bag, proceeded to look at them in a pile, not even look or sort through them to see I had brands they were asking for, and put them back into the trash bag not even looking at what they were. I drove about 30-40 min to sell. Droped off the items (2 bags full of shoes adidas, vans, new balance, crocs etc in good condition) and lululemon, alo clothing and was quoted 30 min wait.. I left the store in less than 10 min I got a text "your items are ready". The staff buying didnt even bother to go through my items because everything was exactly as I organized it before dropping it off. I was told "they pass on my items because their inventory was full" but their "buying needs board said sneakers" lol What a waste of gas and time. I'm very disappointed with the costumer service, my family and I went to buy new clothes. When we went to check out, the employee Kay was being rude for no reason, she seem like she had an attitude with us and other customers. She didn't offer us a bag, even though it wasn't a few things. When we were trying to talk to the manager Sierra, she excused her that because of the points we get, they can not offer us a bag for the stuff, because we get points for not getting bags, but she didn't really talked with Kay the employee. All of the other employees were lazy, and the place isn't clean at all, it smells. But mostly I didn't like the costumer service. read more

First time customer. I am new to selling clothing at a consignment store. I walked in carrying a plastic bin full of men's pants and stuff. An associate approached me wanting to help me in less than a minute. He explained the process and asked me to wait while they looked over my items. After about 15 minutes, they texted me. A young woman explained to me what they could buy, and why they couldn't buy. She paid me cash for the items they wanted. I was very pleased with the process. This is probably one of the few Plato's that I've been to that didn't smell horrible. I've been to a lot of locations across the country and they usually smell pretty bad. This location is well organized and doesn't feel overly cluttered. I didn't see a huge selection of shoes and the men's section is limited to maybe 3 racks. They have the designer handbags behind the register but they were a little hard to see because they had a lot of Halloween decorations that kind of cluttered the space. But it looked like they had some kate spades and Michael Kors up there. All prices on the clothing were very reasonable, some of the lululemon items were priced high for being used. I would also recommend that you check the ALL parts of the clothing as I did see some unfavorable things on the work out gear. Selling: After seeing the prices on the racks you have to expect little for your clothing, think $1-10 range that your gonna get for your. And think teen brands only, free people, H&M, topshop, Hollister. Oh and yes, they do talk about you behind your back. But their kids so I expect them to be judgements. Horrible, horrible store. I went ahead & called before I arrived to make sure they were taking items , which they said yes. I informed the employee I'd be bringing 4 full bags of clothes & once again they said it was fine. After giving my stuff, I get a text maybe 10 minutes later saying my items were ready. When I arrive again, they tell me they have to pass on EVERYTHING. I had lululemon, pacsun, American eagle, Brandy Melville, heels, etc. They said there was nothing in the bags they were looking for & their inventory is extremely stocked right now. Why would you waste customer's time if you're not even going to look through the bags or take anything? With this in mind, most stuff already in the store is extremely worn & out of fashion. Liars. I brought in bags of clothes tons new with tags of the brands they say they prefer. They only took two items out of about 50. When I got home to sort through the bags it was obvious they hadn't even looked at them. If they had they would have seen Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Spanx leggings still in bag, Zara, and more. Who turns down LV? Yet the wall was lined with Kate Spade bags and other mid level brands behind the cash wrap. Total BS. read more

I LOVE SHOPPING HERE BUT.... every time I come to Plato's closet I bring in tons of nice clothing that's trendy online brands nasty gal, princess Polly, brandy Melville, etc. I've also brought in a lot of men's shoes such as Jordan's and under armor. Which I've seen all of these brand on their Instagram and in the store so I'm confused why they will not take most of my clothing. Plato's closet should be advertising what they NEED more often so I as a seller know what to bring so this confusion doesn't arise. Be conscientious when you take things in. I took a $300 purse that had a dust cover/storage bag and a care instructions booklet. They offered me a beyond ridiculously low amount, I said no thank you and took my bag back. When I went to resell online - I noticed the dust cover/storage bag and care instructions weren't there. I've brought my clothes to Plato's closet once before in a different state and had a pretty terrible experience as well. I was hoping for a better outcome here. How is it that I can bring a basket full of clothes, all name brand, and they didn't buy one thing. And, it looks like they just threw everything back in the basket as fast as they could. Out of all the Plato's in arizona I always put this one at the top of my list to shop at. This location buys every single day which is super nice compared to some locations that pick and choose which days they do. Omg, so I'm bringing one of my daughters who has never been to played closet, and bringing in two giant totes full of new juicy couture fur coat, fur boots, and more with tags still attached to almost everything, mostly fall and winter, new adidas, some Levi and Fila and other work out clothes from Kohl's...brand name stuff as well as some awesome new jewelry, leather purses, ten pairs of new shoes and vintage stuff... I'm over 40, and never been told I'm too old to shop here, but these girls working today had no idea what was in the totes I brought but ... THEY made sure I knew they only bought things for "you know, like college and high school kids clothes..." she said in an apologetic tone. I said, that's what is in the totes...she said it may take a few minutes to go through a small pile she had on the counter. Two more people came in and she took care of their things and I waited 45 minutes while these girls sipped on drinks and helped the one or two stray customers and ignored my things. I was never approached for help to look for anything and was being ignored...After nearly an hour, and then standing at the counter as they glanced around doing nothing and not even asking me what I needed while standing at their counter...I just took my stuff and left.
