For a Walmart, it isn't bad. Getting in and out of here is pretty easy compared to others. The parking lot is designed well. The food is stocked pretty well and they even have some of the more popular items you'd see at target. They also started carrying gluten free items. The selection for gluten free items isn't huge but is a good size for this area. If you need some essentials, there are definitely worse places. There's nothing bad about this location except the lines toward the beginning of the month and people stopping in the middle of aisles but that seems to be every Walmart. read more

Stopping for restroom and some snacks for the road, I found this Walmart to be in reasonably good shape. A few cart corrals needing attention and a few pieces of litter blowing around in the parking lot. Inside the store, shelves were stocked enough that I was able to find the things I wanted without difficulty. Only one register was staffed by an associate, so there was a queue for the self-checkout that worked okay. Overall, OK. Not the best Walmart I've been to but far from the worst. Have a Walmart+ account. I've used it 3 times for home delivery when items were heavy, or I could not make it to the store. All three times, the items delivered were slightly damaged, a bent closet rack, ripped soil bags and a repackaged item. This Walmart is the best in our area! The staff here is amazing, they are always doing their best, even in these trying times. If I ever have a problem, which is super rare, the staff is always helping and correcting the issue right away. I've used pickup occasionally and everyone there is just as amazing as the rest of the workers inside. I was foolishly going to buy something at Walmart this evening. I went in past three kind and courteous gentlemen and cut through self checkout to get to the small appliances when I was accosted by a very nasty lady who told me I couldn't stand there. I had no intention of standing there, but then she said I had to get out of that area like it was some major crime I was committing and there was nobody within 10-20 feet of me. I was so upset by her rude, nasty attitude that I turned around and left. Why pay people to be greeters and be nice when they obviously promote the nasty ones to be in charge of the traffic flow??? I will be quite honest, I have never been a real fan of Walmart until I met Linda from customer service at the Punta Gorda Walmart. Linda made it quite obvious that she was going to do whatever she could to make sure my experience at Walmart went well. At first, she was not sure if my returns/exchanges were going to go through but she tried everything she could, and after trying three different ways it finally went through. She was extremely kind and very understanding. I hope the best for her and I'm very grateful for the Punta Gorda Walmart. read more

I have ordered 3 online pickup orders during this COVID-19 Pandemic, and I have to say I'm very impressed. All employees who have assisted us were not only positive, but were wearing masks. I'm very happy with Walmart's new and improved selection of food and beverages. Having more gluten free, vegan and alcoholic options is a huge plus. Using the app is super easy, and I also love the recommendations the search bar gives me when I type in something general. If something is out of stock with your online order the employees do their best to replace that item with the same price or cheaper. If an item you receive is somehow damaged, just call to inform them and they are HAPPY to replace it for you. Amazing customer service! Big two thumbs up!! I tried exchanging a 40" tv for a 36" cuz I recently moved from Missouri to Florida. I had receipt and stickers and tape were still on tv. I had Manuel and tv stand legs still in packages. I have many medical problems and moved here on my own so it took me over the 30 day return period. I didn't even know it was only 30 days. The manager of electronics is awful..I had dealt with her before.. I've spent thousands of dollars in this Walmart since I moved here with just a mattress and a kitchen table and clothes and essentials. The last time I bought a printer cuz I needed to print my dissolution of marriage quickly but needed to make sure it was a wifi printer. I'm older and not familiar with newer technology. She looked at me like I was an idiot and treated me as such as she and a younger trainee showed me the different printers. Needless to say, she would not listen to anything I had to say about exchanging the TV. I told her I've worked in customer service most of my career and this is no way to handle this situation. I will be escalating to corporate. There are times you need to listen and make adjustments to customer needs if appropriate. This was poor customer service. Hopefully, they look into this manager of electronics at this Walmart location. read more

Cant believe that walmart allows people to bring their little dogs into the grocery part. I saw an elderly couple with the little yorkie in the store. The dog was on a leash walking and smelling everything. What happens if someone is allergic to dogs and buys that item that the dog touched??? Who is responsible??? People leave your dogs at home when grocery shopping, they do not need to be there, unless they are actually a registered service dog, if not then leave them home. read more

I wanted to take a moment to provide positive feedback. Yesterday, I went to the automotive dept. to have a tire repaired. Though I got there late, the service dept was able to correct my tire problem. It's important to recognize that I had a tire issue. I commute 1 hr, each way, every day. The mechanic that worked on my vehicle was Dave. He has performed work on my vehicles in the past, and my confidence in the work he does, provides a safe drive for me and my family. I may have had to wait, but Safety is priority #1. I know that I will travel safely thanks to the professional work of your technician. Thank you! read more

It's sad that employees can ruin a store but that's what happened in this case. My 80 year old father went to get something to eat at the Subway and had asked an employee behind the counter if there were any open tables if he could sit there. They told him that would be fine. As he is older he does have a problem standing for long periods of time. There was an empty seat next to an employee who was a security guard for Walmart who was playing games on his cell phone. Being polite, my father asked if he could sit at the table behind him. Apparently he was bothered by being talked and became very obnoxious and immediately started yelling at my father telling him he needs to get away from him and continued to rant and rave and yell that he needed to get 6' away. My father tried to tell him he just wanted a place to sit and eat, but the employee became even louder and more nasty. At that point an argument ensued and the employee said he was gonna call the police, which he did. There were people there at the scene who were shopping that told the police that my father did nothing wrong but since the other guy was an employee and security guard they told my father he was banned from going to the store in the future. After he was leaving my father asked the police if they had a lot of calls and altercations from this employee to whicj they said several but he knew he would get away with what he did and has achip on his shoulder because of it. So a rude, obnoxious employee yells at customers simply because he can, and has peole banned from the store? My father was extremely upset and made several calls to the corporate office. He spoke to several people who were always going to get back to him, but never bothered to. Guess customers aren't a priority at this Walmart!! We will never go back, nor will any of our friends who live in the local communities there as this was completely unprofessional and uncalled for. read more

I went to the paint department to obtain another gal of paint previously mixed for me by an intelligent lady that did not even work in paint. I Strolled in there old paint can with mixtures noted on Walmart form printed by the paint machine when the paint was mixed the first time. An area manager was behind counter told him what I wanted he was a total ass because he did not know how to mix by their preprinted label. HE got the paint manager there . lord and behold she didn't know how,She called the asst store manager he came , same results. I told him to try to match paint from the can he did and the machine printed a label with formula I brought. 45 min later the asst mgr presented me the paint and said it was free but a different base was used. Well got back to the historical house I was working on and lord behold the paint stood out from other paint like a sore thumb. had to go to local hardware to get a new gallon that did match old can and I finished that part of the project. NOW IF THE PAINT MANAGER,AREA MANAGER AND ASST STORE MANAGE CANT MIX PAINT I UNDERSTAND WHY WALMART HAS ITS REPUTATION . I really don't even want to give one star on this review. I am highly upset over the unprofessionalism and the disregard of the employees of the auto care service at this Walmart. The auto care center opens at 7:15 AM and I was there at 7:09 AM with two cars ahead of me and I was told that it would be 45 minutes which is still ridiculous but I excepted. Two hours later after I had to check in on my vehicle, I was told it would still be a little longer. I got to my vehicle and the oil life had not been reset here again is another several minutes to get the oil life reset. Now this is a normal procedure following it oil change so why wasn't it done now I question every part of the oil change it was completed I will not be going back to Walmart any Walmart again for an oil change. read more

Holy Toledo but there is another Walmart in America that is clean, fully staffed, yet uncrowded! Went in for some grocery staples and healthy snack items to be enjoyed poolside. I realize the town is full of retirees and that this is said towns slow season but was super impressed there were still so many people working at 8pm at night. Checkers are helpful and always willing to chat with their customers. I don't know what it is-vacation, area, my dad, or a combination but I find myself super adept at small talk with anybody I come across and this is not something I find myself particularly good at on my own turf. read more

This Walmart had some promise when it opened a few years ago. It was a shiny, spanking new store! Full of hope, we thought. Since about 3 years ago, we find it somewhat lackadaisical in it's daily up keep. The biggest culprit (worst worst section) is the huge Produce Department. "Hey Joe customer... Would you like to buy rotten fruit?, go to Walmart on Kings Highway" you probably have to fight the fruit flies though. I am not exaggerating one bit! NEXT: Selling expired food. This I have found in the Frozen Dairy Case. Also, found expired cheeses, cold cuts and yougurt! SOMEBODY AT WALMART THAT CARES: PLEASE FIX THIS STORE. We, (and I sure, many other local consumers also)have started to migrate our purchases at PUBLIX on Peachland, and WIN-DIXIE on 41. Learn how to run a grocery store from them!! DO SOMETHING! This is my Walmart however, I am ashamed that they continue to contract with that same nail shop. There have been so many complaints about their terrible service to some people. When a company you contract with is not sensitive to diverse populations. Why would you continue to do business with them. Between the constant chatter and yellow in a different language, the cutting and bruising of your cuticle, scratching your legs under the guise of a massage, it is a disgrace. The Walmart has proven again the money is more important than people. How did these people corner the market with such selective service? My friends and I have only had negative experiences at all of Walmart's nail salons in Port Charlotte. Walmart you need to take a look at these salons through various secret shoppers. the duck claw machine that said "play till you win" for just 1$ is something i live for, but when youre down and on your last dollar you think to yourself i need at least 1 win to turn around my losses. i go to this machine after walking close to 3 miles from my box to just spend this one dollar i have. i get there and i realize i forgot my quarters on the ground when i was playing with them. i scrap up every last remaining piece of pride i have and scuffle through the isles of Walmart and find myself peeing in isle 4 while looking at the warm blankets. i go to stand like a superhero outside when i find a dollar on the floor in front of the duck machine so happy to see my life coming together i fart in excitement and almost cry as i realizes i really pooped. any ways i put the dollar into the duck machine that is "play till you win" and i get the claw to move over right above the duck just standing there looking at me knowing itll bring me some relief and i smash down on the red button... i got the claw to drop 4 inchs down and close mid air and retract back to the prize dropping location and then not let me play any more. Machine is broken and so am i, im heading home phone is dying will return, if duck machine is fixed i will write another review. till then bye duckling remember farts are extremely sus when you aint popped in a while. #OOPS read more

I brought a wheel with a torn up tire into the tire center at 9am. No car to put it on or anything like that, I just needed a tire put on the wheel. I was told that it would take about an hour to get it done which was surprising in the first place that it would take that long for such a small job. I was okay with it though, I went and got some breakfast and killed an hour and came back to pick it up. Connie, the associate at the counter, told me that it still wasn't done but they were working on it, she said she heard the tire machine going. I waited for another 15 minutes in the store, and knowing how quick and easy those tire machines are, I came back to ask if it was done yet. At that point Connie in the tire department says "I'll call you when it's done dude! The more annoying you are about it, the longer it's gonna take!" To make a longer story short, I'm still here waiting for the tire and hour and 55 minutes after dropping it off. I still need to get ready for work and put the wheel with the new tire back on the vehicle that's waiting at the gas station down the road before going to work. I work in the retail industry with customers every day by the way. If I used a line like that on one of my customers, I'd get fired! Go somewhere else to get your tires done, they don't appreciate your business here, you're just a nuisance to them. Prime example is two hours of waiting for a 5 minute job, and being treated like this on top of it! If I could rate zero stars for this experience, I would! read more
