I am not a regular Walmart shopper, at least in California. On this location, I would say it's an okay location if you really need to get something. Over the years, I have noticed this location just getting a little worse. I have an elderly family member that loves the Walmart's in Arizona but hates going to the ones in California. I went straight to the site to store line the manager Robert carried it out put it in my car even move my laundry baskets around in the car to make the item fit . I try to offer him a tip he said thats immediate termination. I was picking up a shake weight;) i just wanted to try it! But i bought it online and wanted to pick it up at the store.. I waited at least 15 mins in line....because no one was there to help... A line was forming and there was also a LARGE sign... Saying tap the screen for assistance... I think i stabbed the screen :/ but no one came and the workers next to the counter kept helping... This Walmart is the worst. They allow people to bring their dogs in and sniff all over food stands and other parts of the store. When I alerted a manager about this she acted disinterested and stated there was nothing she could do. Since the pandemic they have done a poor job with social distancing guidelines. I don't usually go to walmart but every time I do it goes pretty good. Yesterday I went to get some led lights. Had to wait 20 minutes for someone to come open the cabinet so I could get it. I asked about 6 different workers and none of them had a key and just told me to push the button for assistance. I finally got it and opened the box in the car just to see a receipt inside saying that it had been returned and is damaged, which it was. not sure why it was even put back on the shelf. anyways that same night I placed a pick up order online for different led lights from the same walmart. I get here now, go in to pick it up, and a worker tells me I have to go outside, park in the designated pick up parking spots, and call the number. I call the number and no answer obviously lol. so I click the link to sign in and the link doesn't do anything it just makes me download the app to check in for them to begin preparing themselves to bring it out to me. still waiting for them to come out. read more

This is a pretty large Walmart. A lot of check out lanes. Plenty of parking, but of course on busy days (Sundays or the holidays) you'll be doing a few laps to find a good spot. It's in a great location, where you can do your Walmart shopping plus anything else you need (lunch, more shopping) due to lots of businesses around. read more

Is it really worth it to write this review? I mean it's Walmart. I get it. But I came in a few weeks before Halloween and was trying to get a blow up doll to put in front of our home. Since they had really good deals, I was kind of excited on getting a couple of these. I wasn't able to find anyone in the Halloween section as you need an associate to actually get the item for you. So I tried finding the nearest Walmart employee that may be able to help. I saw a girl working near the paint section and I kindly asked if she knew how I can get someone to get me on of those items. She said, "Oh there isn't anywhere there?" I said, " No. " She then says, "Oh, there should be." I tell her again, there isn't I looked around. She then tells me, oh well I don't know. So you work here, but you cannot ask anyone else or don't know anything on how I'm suppose to get the items when the sign clearly says "Ask an associate for help." Hmm sure thing.. Armando was so rude and had people wait in line for at least 10 min all because he didn't want to honor a price that was advertised. After I went back to show them where I got that price from I was told it was for a different item even though they had a bunch of the chairs under that sticker price. I came here to prep for my big bear trip with my family and saw online they had sleds in stock. I walked around for the item and decided to ask an employee for some assistance. I saw an employee named Grace in sporting goods and asked her very politely where they had sleds and she was really rude to me, as if she didn't want to assist me and turned me away really quickly. The customer service here is so bad. Today, I was paying my groceries and this cashier (her name is SALLY) was totally rude to me. I have a full load of groceries in my cart, so unloaded some of the items on the conveyor belt counter. She rudely told me to place "all" my groceries to the counter even though there's no more space. And then when I tried to tell her that there's no more space, she rolled her eyes and made faces. My experience at this Walmart was horrible. I went to the cosmetics section to buy some acne wash. I clicked the button which sent notifications to each staff member notifying them that the glass case in the cosmetics section needs to be opened. I waited around 20 minutes just for some FACE WASH and I repeatedly kept clicking the button. I've been to a few other Walmarnearby, and this one definitely stands out as one of the nicer/cleaner locations. However, the employees lack luster and never seem interested in helping you. I live in between two Walmart super centers; Van Nuys and Porter Ranch. Obviously I prefer the Porter Ranch just for the ample parking and cleanliness all around but it does seem that the Port Ranch store is lacking in overall stock. I realized that this location was going to be choosy on what they stock and being that the center has a Ralph's, Best Buy, Joan's fabric, toys R us (now closed) and a few other big store options they were going to have smaller choices in certain isles. I figured since Toys r us were gone that they would amp their action figure and you section up but it got even worse. They have always had the worse toy selection (since this store opened) in the entire valley but I swear the guy that orders for this store is either keeping everything for himself or has a bunch of his buddies coming in and purchasing before it even hits the shelves. They also got rid of their printed t-shirt section which I used to love and always purchased at least one every time I went there. I also used to buy a particular type of watch that I used for work. The band would get worn out about a year later so I would just buy another watch since a replacement strap was about the same price as the watch. The funny thing was I got compliments on this cheap watch more than my very expensive watches. I even purchased it for other people because they liked it so much. Of course they stopped stocking it and can't get them to order anymore. That goes for the electric tooth brush, fabrics, shampoo that I used to buy, and so on. At this point I really only purchase some seasonal decorations and a rotisserie chicken from time to time. I now have to go to the Van Nuys store in order to purchase any of the items that I used too. On a positive note I could swear their DVD selection has become bigger. WTF who buys DVD's anymore??? I guess streaming has not catched up with Porter Ranch yet. Well that is my two cents, used to really like this store. read more

Ok. Never before have I had a desire to write a yelp review for a department store, but for whatever reason I feel compelled today. I have to say I was quite pleased with my visit to Walmart in Porter Ranch today. I came here looking for a specific item and couldn't find it. There were tons of employees around the store and everyone was very helpful (although one understandably sent me in the wrong direction, lol). One standout employee today was the young man who worked at the deli, he was very friendly and sincere. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy his job which made me thoroughly enjoy my shopping experience. The second was Phil, whom I believe was a manager. Not only did he help me find the item I was looking for but actually led me to where the items were and was even able to multitask and simultaneously assist another customer find what she was looking for. Kudos. Or maybe it was the Patti LaBelle sweet potato pie I picked up in the bakery. I've never tried one before and I had been wanting to since Thanksgiving! That's not what I came to Walmart for but as soon as I saw the bakery I immediately thought of that pie. I was worried that it was a seasonal item but low and behold, they still have them stocked! Whatever the reason, I gotta say, today was a good day at Walmart. read more

I have mixed feelings about this location. On one hand it's in a expensive area and I expected more. I know most Walmarts are the same but I've seen some things that made me say Idk if I would come back to this location. We all know that Walmart is cheap but still is it worth it. I came to this location because I had been to others looking for certain boxes. The ones closer to home don't have them but this one always have them. When I walked in noticed that they had stuff locked up in cases that other locations have setting out. Items like soap, creams, deodorant etc. like wth. I've been to locations in the ghetto and they don't have this stuff locked up so that knocks off a star. The store is pretty big which was cool. They were petty stocked which is great considering it's Walmart and it's always busy. But when it came to the check out part they lose another star. They only had about 4 registers open at 7-8 at night. That's a very busy time of the night and why in the heck don't they have registers open. I worked retail for years and I know that's a busy time for any store. Like I said I have mix feelings about this location so I will see next time if we go back read more

jTheir 1 hr holiday card/photo service is a joke. Not only was my 1-hour order still NOT done 12 hrs later- but the store wouldn't pick up the phone to explain if and when they'd be ready. It was a time sensitive order too. Just a vague email- it is delayed with no anticipated completion time listed. The Walmart.com customer service complimented me endlessly and said they would escalate it so management - saying management would contact us in 24 hours to tell us when it would be ready- so I would learn 48 hrs after I ordered when my 1 hr order would be ready. How does that even qualify as reasonable?!? Not surprising, any time I call this store no one picks up. I'm not sure they know what customer service is. Also, they canceled half my in store pick up holiday order after 24 hrs, leaving me scrambling to get the gifts elsewhere on time before the party. Their items in store I find often ripped open or damaged. I shouldn't be surprised to find they can't honor their time obligations. This is the last straw. If getting orders on time matter to you- go elsewhere. Don't expect real help either. Customer service will say you are kind and sorry for frustration, but will not get the store to respond until it's convenient for them. read more

It's too bad the shopping experience is always so terrible at Walmart because their prices and variety exceed any other store. This particular location is always extremely busy. Expect to wait in line for at least 5 minutes just to purchase your items. Everything slowly but surely is being locked away in cases that require an employee to remove the item you'd like from the case. It always amazes me how bad theft can really be to have to take those measures. That realistically isn't that big of a deal, just another inconvenience to be added to the experience. This visit, I had ordered items online to be picked up in store, thinking I'd save some time. Although the people helping me were wonderful, time wise I did not save a bit. Also, I can never get over how dirty and chaotic these stores are. I think it's finally come to the point where it's a bit too much for me. I like the self check out and almost never wait. Although I couldn't by beer at the self check out. That's a state law. Not Walmarts fault, but still not convenient. Some people don't like Walmart because of the way they allegedly treat their employees. I don't know about that,but I have to wonder what most of their employees would be doing if they didn't work at Walmart. Walmart gets a bad rap but they seem to provide why the community wants. Both in terms of an employer, and as a low price retailer. I'd like the option of a few blocks of small local retailers along a few downtown blocks like the old days. The service you get make or breaks a place and I'm giving this location the best rating because of my interactions with Janelle in the bakery and Edward in the check out line. I was making a custom order for my son's first bday cake and was wearing him in my ergo while he napped. Janelle was super genuine and asked if I needed help. Went to shop early Saturday thinking I would find well stocked store. Did not happen. No variety/ limited product. Looking for white dish drainer, Hefty trash can & Equate face wash + some other items. Did not find the first three. Brought a return from online purchase- refused return. Customer behind me tried to return sealed product- refused. It was not the refusal rather the clerk's mannerisms and demeanor. Saw what looked like management (6 or 7) was walking the store. They need to work on people not merchandising their half empty store. read more

When I got through to Customer service they insisted on transferring me to the Pick-up Department, whom never answered. Approximately 3 times. Customer service stated they could not answer my question. On the 4th time of transferring me, the call was disconnected. After that, I could not get through because the phone continuously rang for about 2 minutes and will hang up. So I was not able to get through after numerous tries. read more
