I have been a resident of the Porter ranch community for a very long time, I have been shopping at this location for years and today I was highly disappointed with the unprofessionalism and customer service (unfortunately not the first time) I received. I purchased an air mattress that did not work, I called in to exchange the mattress the same day but they did not have any others in stock. The sticker said exchange only but the employee i spoke with when I called said I would receive a refund since there were not any others in stock. I had family in town for the holidays and needed the mattress the same day so I went to target and purchased another mattress, today when I came to the location to process my refund I was told that it can not be done and now that the mattress was in stock that they can process an exchange. I explained what I was told by the previous employee but the customer service rep and the customer service supervisor were no help, I understand policies but I was told by a Walmart employee they would honor the return since I needed the mattress the same day and it was not in stock. I will be taking this up with the store manager and corporate. read more

Waited over 45min for curbside pick up. I pre-checked in too. Called the store 3x's and no one picked up. Called customer service and they couldn't get through either. Management did not even acknowledge me even though I was just outside his office door with an associate. To top it off they gave me the wrong item. This Walmart is one of the only Walmarts in the San Fernando Valley so a lot of people tend to go to this location. At times it can be extremely packed with only a few registers open. If possible I would advise going further out because this Walmart tends to get extremely busy with not a lot of customer service available. read more

While they did have everything I need they also remodeled and it's so horrible . It's like they down sized - they moved everything everywhere and it's not where it used to be and they have some shelves covered with giant stacks of boxes of products so you won't be able to access some things. If you do not do self check out, expect to wait at least 25 mins in line, AT LEAST. The cashiers seem to purposely check you out extremely slowly. They're comparable to the sloth scene in that movie Zootopia. I assume it's in hopes you'll be like me strictly only use self checkout so they don't have to work. The employees that work in the morning are usually more helpful than those in the afternoon / evening. Sometimes they run out of bags at check out so not only do you have to self checkout and bag everything yourself you also should BYOB to be safe or you'll end up carrying out your groceries in your hands. They also almost never have the little bags for fruits and veggies so prepare to hunt. The place is never not crowded and is hectic and chaotic - not for the weak. I was once told that if I wanted to purchase a reusable bag it needed to be done prior to checkout not during - I didn't know you were out of bags prior to check out. My expectations for this place are always low so their incompetence is usually laughable to me. I'm a glass half full kind of girl and at least I always get a good laugh out of coming here plus, coming here has unwillingly made me a pro checkout and bagger! I also don't think I've ever been food poisoned here either so bonus for that. read more

Unless you need a frisbee for $.098. They are so rude! The Porter Ranch Walmart is currently under remodeling all while remaining open. If you are coming to walk around in confusion and getting lost all while squeezing past the next person in an aisle, then This Walmart is the place for you. Pretty standard Wal-Mart. I go when I need lotion, toiletries etc. They have Patty Pies by the mass, whereas in other stores they 're very hard to get ahold of. Those pies are pretty good, especially for a store shelf pie. read more

Horrible Walmart. If you go at night the milk section is always empty even though they have a delivery right behind of what I needed. I asked an employee if he could just go back there and get me the milk. They said no. Manager said no. If you want any milk products never go at night. This place is the arm pit of the Porter Ranch Town Center. The parking lot is always full of trash left by patrons, the store for the most part is dirty and messy, and their employees really do nothing to help you. Recently about 15-20 minutes before closing they made the usual we are closing is X minutes please finalize your selections and bring them to the nearest cashier. So I head to the front of the store to not only get blocked not once by twice by employees moving pallets around. By the time I get up to the from their our only four registers open and now a line at least 10 people deep in each of them. How about next time you ask your patrons to leave, you open up all your registers so they can, and dot end up standing around for 20 minutes. read more

I tried to give them multiple chances but this store is going downhill. Go to buy items and the shelves are never stocked. Ask an employee if someone can assist u. You get some assistance but there is a communication barrier because the person can't speak a lick of english. She scans the item BECAUSE YOU ASK HER if the store possibly has it in the back stock. (Not because she thought to do it) She sees on her scanner that there are 41 items but says they aren't in the back. She brings another employee over and they are communicating in another language just for her to tell you again that the item is not in stock. It's a Walmart, plain and simple. I don't expect good service when I'm here, and I'm unsurprised when I don't get it. They have many things at cheap prices, so there's really no issue with that. They're open late and there's lots of self checkout lanes, so you won't be in line very long. Personally, I've bought a ton of stuff here, including like 80% of my camping gear. HOWEVER: don't even bother calling on the phone to ask questions. I called 5 times, and each time I asked my question, was then put on hold or transferred, and then promptly forgotten about. Do not order for pick up / curb side. There is no curb side help. I pulled into the parking spot closest to the door. I called the number on the sign & it went directly to voice mail twice. Therefore I got out of my car to find someone to help me. I saw people going in & out of the door & not one person said hello, I'll be right with you, nothing. I finally asked a girl for help. She said she would bring it to my car. After 15 minutes of waiting I went to ask her about my order. She told me that other people have been waiting before me & it could take an hour to get my order. (An hour) I said I would just cancel my order. She said ok I had to do it through the app. I went back into the store to find a manger that was nice enough to help me. Apparently I wasn't the only one having issues. I informed him about the phone number not working, he said because they are busy. (There where only 6 other cars before me, Not even Black Friday sales yet, plus they have 27 parking spots for pick up) If they can't handle 6 cars they definitely can't handle weekend & Holiday business. I have been frequenting this Walmart since it opened. I used to love coming here, it was a fun trip to a classy Walmart, and I definitely relished the convenient location. My problem with this Walmart started when they converted it into a Supercenter. The Supercenter Walmart is, of course, ostensibly a grocery store, and usually a McDonalds or eatery inside the Walmart. You also have the traditional store and Optometrist inside. So basically two stores in one. That's exactly what they did... Cram double the aisles in the same small store, and it frankly drives me nuts. It makes me claustrophobic to walk through the sections and now I feel like three people are breathing down my neck to hurry up, because I'm standing where they need to shop. They never have the things in stock that I really came in for like certain floss, body washes, etc. The employees are always nice and helpful, and I'm fine with the parking. The bathrooms are usually very well kept. I just have a hate/hate relationship with this store because the shopping dynamic has a greatly changed since the upgrade. read more

Walmart's prices definitely can not be beat. I was looking to upgrade my cell phone and the cellular department happily assisted me with the entire process. I upgraded to an iphone 11 and I could not be more satisfied with the entire setup process. I also purchased a Lenovo laptop for under 800 dollars. The staff was very knowledgeable and patient throughout the entire process and the whole process was super efficient and professional. This is the go to spot for anything tech, as well as other great deals Walmart always has to offer. Highly Recommended! read more

Here at Walmart 9 pm on a Monday night and they still can't get it together! It doesn't matter what time it is, this place is always packed! If they would only open up more than one register at a time it wouldn't be so congested here. Half the time I feel like I'm at the swap meet. The new remodeling is pretty awesome, however, now all the aisles are mixed up and it's kind of tough to find certain things. I do like the addition of the grocery items, however, this Walmart isn't as bit as the other ones that were intended to be grocery locations. So now the aisles are a bit cramped. Place is so tight and why do the staff let belligerent teenagers ride around in the store's bikes and tricycles? They were jousting in the tricycles. They're probably around 17-18 years old.... Taller than me and I'm 6ft. They're throwing balls smacking each other with plastic swords...all in a tight aisle in the toy section while I'm looking for bike racks. That's the type of section where a fight can break out because of belligerent costumers. I saw a security guard try to talk to them and they stopped. As soon as he walked away they were back at it. And they were loud. This Walmart used to be nice and now it's gone to crap. Staff are rude too. I was following the aisle lettering and I asked where aisle "j" was because it seemed out of order. Then she looks at me and does a pffff sound then says, "other side of the store". I don't recommend this store unless you're desperate. read more

June 25th 2023 My fiancé and I had gone to do late night shopping. Checked out at self check out. Needed assistance paying so the woman at self check out helped us feed the machine. We got our receipt and left. As we were leaving there was a woman verifying the customers in front of us receipt and we decide to walk past them. She stopped what she was doing to ask us for a receipt and we did no thank you and kept walking. She then gets in my way as I'm pushing the cart and pulls it from my fiancé as he's holding the front end out the door. I push the cart getting her to lose her grip and then she laid her hands on me and she pushes me on my back, shoving out the door. Let it be known I'm 22. 40+ year old woman shouldn't be throwing a fit pushing me cause she was told No. it is not necessary to show ur receipt. You can choose not to. Awful experience today at your Porter Ranch store. I pre-ordered a birthday cake and went to pick it up. They spelt the birthday girls name wrong. The lady said she will fix it. I went to go pay for it and when I came back, 1) there was a gash and smudges where she attempted to fix the letters 2) she had cracked the cake. (I have pictures) I went to customer service and spoke to a manager. He offered to have them re-due the cake. Unfortunately, it was a special order flavor so could not do that. Then he offered me a refund. The lady gave me back my money and I went to leave, with the cake. So I thought. She stopped me and said I had to leave the cake. I was so confused. I was on my way to the bday party, I needed the cake. I explained all this to the manager. Turns out they "could not" just give me the ruined cake, only a % off. Such BS. That is not what that manager said and of course he would not come back up to the front. Horrible customer service. In Apr 12, 2021 I went to pet department to get flea stuff for my dogs I push button let somebody whomever responsible to unlock show case so many times and 2 guys who been waiting for that with me too so...20 minutes later nobody show up even during waiting I asked another employees they said "ohh..
