Straight out the gate let me tell you this Walmart is HUGE. I was impressed by the size more than anything else. If you are looking for something specific this would be a great place to check for it as the sheer size of it would mean they get tons more stock than the smaller Walmarts near me. They had shoes for DAYS let me tell you. Very impressed with the cleanliness As well. Walmart has a look and feel to it and this one has that but feels so open compared to other ones. Walmart auto dept on lake Mary sucks. No body there to help, to slow and waste of time

I had a great experience with the curbside service at this Walmart supercenter. I placed my order this morning at around 10 AM and was able to pick it up at 3:30 PM. However, this time they made a substitution in my order by replacing my organic cabbage with four regular cabbages for half the price. While I got more cabbage than I needed, the negative is that it's not organic. I don't want to go back into the store to make a return for a mere $.56 worth of cabbage. Waited outside for curbside pickup for 23 minutes. The order was already completed and ready for pickup before I arrived. We checked in on the app and just sat and waited. There was no warning of delays or backups in orders being brought out. Then, we only were given some of our items and not the entire order. Since they dropped it in the trunk, we didn't realize until we got home. Never had such a bad curbside experience before. read more

Used to be able to get everything we needed delivered without upcharges. Now it appears there are upcharges. And they no longer deliver liquor, no explanation, just "not available at this store" after we've been getting it delivered monthly for +2yrs. 2 of my last 3 orders were missing half of my groceries, things I had planned to use to make dinner that night. Walmart was easy to deal w, gave me a refund for missing items, but it's very inconvenient. Watch expiration dates especially on chicken. It's been 2-3 days after delivery so we've had to throw it away. Walmart delivery used to be really good. Not so much anymore. read more

This is the typical Walmart. I normally go to a different store, but they are remodeling the outdoor area. I needed cheap mulch and this is where I went. I shopped there on October 18th buying quite a bit. When I got home I realized I was missing items gave them the receipt number and they said to come in with the receipt. When I got there I was told I had to go re shop them as they were not held. What they neglected to tell me is there were two more items I was missing, 2 mainstays basic hand towels (navy). There were 4 washcloths but apparently they weren't even rung up although presented to buy. I chatted with Walmart Customer Service for 40 mi before being given another number to call. Called that number and even after explaining the issue was told they could not help, I'd have to drive20 miles out of my way again after already inconvenienced once. I asked for a supervisor and gave up after being left on hold. All I wanted was my missing items sent to me. And they turned it into a fiasco. I ask myself often why I shop there because it seems there's an issue online or in store more often than not. read more

Literally couldn't buy a toothbrush because nobody was working who could unlock the case

I went to the auto center to have four tires installed. The gentleman who signed me in was cool. I asked him to also check the tire monitoring system. If this needed repairing, I would have had it repaired at the same time my tires were being installed. About an hour into my installation, I went to inquire about what I'd asked him to check for and, he told another co-worker of his to tell me, the monitoring system was not working. He then told me he only had one tire left to install.... If what I asked you to check for, you found out was not working, why would you not call to ask me if I wanted it repaired???? The tires were already off. The monitoring system could have been fixed! NOW, I have to find another day to have an issue repaired when it could have already been taken care of! Now, I don't want to blame the technician because maybe this is their policy. ONLY fix what I came there for and if they see something else, they aren't responsible for making notifications and asking customers if we want it repaired??? UGGGHHH! Very frustrating! (Why didn't I just ask him to take the tires BACK off and repair the monitoring system? I was on my way to church and I didn't want to be late...) read more

If I could rate it a zero I would. When you place a pickup order, it's suppose to save time. Instead, I end up waiting at least 30 minutes every single time!!! Some days 45 minutes just to get my groceries. It's a joke. You call the number they provide, and it goes right to voicemail! You call the store, and they say they can't help you, and give you the number that goes right to voicemail. You try to get a hold of a manager, and they tell you there is only one in the store and can't help you! This place needs to be shut down. And then when you finally get your groceries, they just chuck them in your car, leaving a mess and broken groceries. This is close to my house but I will never go to this Walmart again! read more

There are gates when you enter to prevent people from leaving and this is the first time I've seen that which indicates there is a lot of criminal activity in this location. I place my grocery orders from Walmart every month. I usually order 250.00 or more, three times a month. Most months my grocery orders from Walmart total over $700.00. I have always had troubles with Walmart, they are extremely sloppy in the way they conduct business. Most times when you are shopping, you rely on their inventory updating to be correct, but that is never the case, they instead sell the product, and then when you wait for it to be delivered, they tell you they do not have it in stock. Anyway, I put up with this mediocre service for years; but, now they are deducting and placing holds on amounts they are not entitled to, and when you complain, they tell you to bring it up with my bank ... That's not going to happen. First of all, my bank did not place the hold twice, nor did my bank receive the money from the two hold, that became actual payments after the hold expired. On the day of May 3, 2023, they placed a hold on my account for $27.93, then they did the same almost a full week after the order, they placed a hold for another $27.93. These are amounts that have now been deducted from my account, they are no longer held. I called Walmart customer service, and Walmart Payments 3 times. In the first 2 times, both agents said they saw the double charge and that they would investigate further and correct it; a full week went by and they did nothing. Today I called again, and now they say they only see one charge of 27.93 that they placed on May 3, 2023, not the one from May 9, 2023. They blame my bank. For years I have shopped at Walmart online for mere convenience, but as of today, Walmart is dead to me. I warn everyone out there, this company does not give a damned, and if you keep your credit cards on file with them, it's not a matter of if something will happen to your account, it's simply a matter of when! I find that the quality of a Walmart is reflective of the quality of the neighborhood in which it's located. This isn't in the worst part of Sanford, but Sanford doesn't really have a "best" part of town anyway (lol). I come here all the damn time. Mostly for groceries, but also for housewares and automotive stuff and the occasional miscellaneous item. The parking lot is huge, but cluttered with shopping carts. They're as far back as the Aldi and Wendy's. Doesn't anyone ever wrangle up the carts? Most of the shopping carts are in lousy shape. Good luck finding one that doesn't have busted up wheels or isn't full of garbage. The interior is ok. Pretty well lit and clean for the most part. I like that they put the supermarket side to the right and the department store to the left. Of course milk is located all the way the hell in the back. And for some reason the soap, toothpaste and other personal items are located over by the pharmacy instead of with the supermarket section. This is a PITA, keep all the consumables together! Like any Walmart, the employees are not exactly the best trained. Some barely even speak english. I will say they all try their hardest and as friendly as possible. i've never encountered any jerks working here. This is about as average a WSC as you can get. There are worse stores, but this one could be better if upper management really decided to push QA about 1000% more than they currently do. read more

This Walmart has the BEST order online and pick up service and staff consistently through 2020-2021. More items available and up to date in Walmart.com so hardly any cancellations. They ALWAYS have pulled my items fast for pick up. Even though this store is far from me, it's my favorite over Walmart's at Waterford/ East Colonial or Deep lake Oviedo because of their great servicenin this regard. Manager Debra at one time was also very helpful with us to get an item for us. I drive there for pick up over any other Walmart. THANK YOU! read more

Sometimes I surprise myself. Going to a Walmart, which I loathe based on everything I know about me, and how I feel about the W, and then giving it a 4-star review (as my first review of the year, no less) - Shocknado!!! It's just that I have to be fair. First, this Walmart was clean AND not busy (may have a lot to do with the fact that I went at close to 9 p.m. over the holidays...) Things were well organized, and I was able to immediately find a couple of items I really needed, both at a great price. They were: Listerine Pocket Pak, $2 for a 3-pack after a coupon, and buck ninety-two for a bag of Ricola, which was more than 150% higher at CVS and/or Walgreens (forget which). Second, they gave me PERSONAL service. I wandered into the pharmacy for my much-needed meds for pheumonia at 8:55, oblivious to their hours (they close at 9). Lady who took my order assured me they could fill it - but stick around, as I have to be there to pick it up before they close. Sure enough, just as I was paying, they closed it up - not before I got my meds AND the pharmacist took time to talk to me about the anti-biotics. Wow! You see, just 10 days before, I'd gone to CVS for another prescription - for what (they said) was laryngitis. CVS didn't have it (huh!!!), and I went to Walgreen. I paid $27 for 12 oz. of syrup which I ended up not being able to take, because Hydro-codone undoes me in a big way (I'd call throwing up 5x in 2 hours an "undoing"). No one explained it to me, and of course they won't take the meds back even when I asked. But like a sheep, I first went back to Walgreen for the second prescription. They wanted $48 bucks for 10 pills, even though I had a coupon that the doctor gave me with the prescription which said it'd be $13. But apparently they didn't take that coupon, which was when I went to Walmart. I'm sure I did. read more

I visited this Wal-Mart tonight. I'm new to the area and was able to find my complete list at this location. The cashier was friendly but my one, big complaint is the temperature. The air conditioning needs work--I shopped during the evening and I was sweating in the store. Management, please address this issue, the heat really sours the experience. read more

If I could give less stars I would. Staff is incredibly rude, you cannot get through on phone lines and when you do they aren't able to resolve anything and often the call is disconnected. Forget about a pickup order. You will sit for 40+mins past checking in, cannot get through phone lines, and no one cares to help or resolve issues. read more

If I could give this Walmart, actually most Walmarts in my area, a 0 I would. No one ever answers when you call, it doesn't matter which department. I went to the photo department, it took me 10 minutes to get anyone to help me. There are no lines, why isn't there an employee available to help? I found a manager and she had no clue how to help. It has been over 20 years since I have visited this store. Yikes! I had to use the restroom and it smelled so bad of urine that I didn't even use it. The sink..soap dispenser was so dirty. That just tells you right there that there isn't any pride of ownership at this loacation. A bathroom tells alot about how a place is ran. My wife did find what she needed but the store was so cramp with everything that it was so hard to get through the aisle. While I was waiting I noticed all the trash and dust bunnies under everything. Does anyone ever sweep or wipe down this place? What happened to this location? read more

I hate this store so much. I went there to see if I could pick up a video game the day it released because they had signs of it everywhere... The person working in electronic was CLUELESS! Had myself and a few others waiting around for a hour only to continue to tell us they couldn't find it. This is not the first problem I have had with this store but this was my breaking point. I was grocery shopping this afternoon 1pm (1-8-2020) at Sanford Walmart Super Center. I couldn't find an item that I previously purchased at another Walmart Super Center. I stopped an employee stocking food items if she could assist in finding the item. She was very rude answering she doesn't know where the item can be found. I asked if she could look on her hand held computer to find it. She said "no" turned her back on me. Her name is Mariah . I saw another employee asked the same question he looked it up and took me directly to the aisle. It just so happen it was the next aisle over where Mariah was stocking items. Pharmacy messed up order bad. Don't use anymore, never again. Did not prepare mediation properly. Ordered online for store pick up at this location before, had to cancel it because of this store (long story - wrong pick up time, said it was in stock, but couldn't find any on shelf or in back, they had no idea where it was, had an employee on the phone act like a manager and was rude, etc.) I recently went to order a birthday cake from their bakery. It was Saturday and I needed it for Monday. They told me they couldn't make my cake because they wouldn't have a cake decorator in to do it between then (Saturday) and my pick up (Monday afternoon). This is just the worse walmart ever. If you need Walmart and you are in Sanford, go to the one on Rinehart. You'll have better luck! read more

Absolutely the WORST customer service. I called a total of FIVE times and could not get transferred to the appropriate department nor to a manager. I spent more time on hold than speaking to anyone. When I did get to talk to a live person, the employees either spoke little English or spoke completely ghetto. In addition, when an employee was unable to understand my situation, they opted to place me on hold again, then pick up the line, then hang up w/o another word. I was completely polite, never raised my voice, nor cussed at anyone. If I had, I would understand why I was treated with such disrespect. read more

I wandered into this store with limited expectations. I think this is the oldest WalMart in the area and other stores are more updated and modern feeling. I was very pleasantly surprised about both the well maintained condition of the store and the high levels of personal service I received. I asked a series of questions and the employee escorted me around the store, showing and explaining the differences between the four items I had asked about. For a second I thought I was in Macy's with their personal shopper program. I usually shop at Target as it is closer and some of their prices are competitive but I have never received this level of service there. When I asked the employee a question that they could not answer, they happily called over a manager and the answer was obtained promptly. I know this store isn't as nice or as up to date as others, but the level of service is actually pretty astonishing. The fact that the store is well maintained is also reflective of a very well trained and professional staff. I realize that we are talking about WalMart but after growing up in the NorthEast and living abroad, I have shopped in many different places. This experience was both unexpected and quite pleasant. Don't get too excited over the new look of the frozen and refrigerated section in the store, with the black framed glass doors over the shelves. It looks modern, but it's the same failing refrigeration system. I couldn't believe all the frozen foods again had to be evacuated because every shelf was full of ice behind the doors. Once the entire cheese section too was completely empty because of the failed refrigeration, not one piece of cheese in the store, just like there wasn't any frozen food in the store. What bothers me most is that I see they were still selling the items even though they are surrounded by the ice, which means the items defrosted then rehardened again somewhat when the refrigeration came back on. I brought home what I thought was ice cream sandwiches that had hardened again only to find out they were soupy. I would eat any of that for any reason. Also, no one ever restocks the shelves correctly whether it be the supermarket area or the rest of the store. I'm still waiting for several items that they haven't restocked in 10 years and they can't tell me why they haven't. Even when there are a few items left of something, and they are bent or broken, no one restocks them and I've seen these remain on the shelf for nearly a half a year. No one has figured out why they're not being purchased? Even yesterday The aluminum nordicware XL cookie sheet pans are still there for about 3 years because they all have multiple deep scratches in them and no one has figured out why they're not selling? No one even looked? Not everyone, but the majority of people are on the nasty side, including store managers that I've had the displeasure of having to speak with once or twice, and they can never be found or are unhelpful when you do find them. After about a decade of putting up with this, I decided it was worth my while to drive just another couple of miles in the other direction and go to the Walmart near the Sanford mall. That's somewhat of an improvement but not much, especially the personal care items that are never in stock with shelves nearly completely empty every time I go. The cleaning items like detergent, cleansers, etc. is also poorly stocked, as is some of the dairy. A couple of months ago, I ran into the Super Target just a stones throw away from this Walmart and I couldn't believe the difference. The prices are so cheap just like Walmart in the center aisles, but it was clean and all the people were nice. Even the produce doesn't have flies and rotted items. They also have a lot more items that Walmart hasn't stocked for years, and that was a great find. They could sure use an improved deli chicken section and lower the prices to compete with Walmart, for sure, and people would then shop there after work. We've actually been going more to that Target location more than Walmart now, and for the few things target doesn't have, we swing by and run in to pick up at the Sanford mall location Walmart because it's on the way home, so all seems to be really good now, I solved my problem. Even if I order site to store at Walmart I can pick that up on the way home from target. I also have the ability to pass publix on the trip home should I want to pick up some of their great sale items or specialty items none of the stores have. Since we don't shop but once every couple of weeks anyway, this works out good for us, but if you are looking for a store to go in multiple times a week for food, your mileage may vary depending on what you buy and how often you need to go and on which days of the week. As it stands, just trying to find a banana with a tinge of green on it at Walmart any other day but the one day they ship bananas in on is becoming a rare occasion, so good luck with that. PS: don't even think that becoming a Sam's Club member will solve your problem of Walmarts in adequacy's. I could write a small novel on the issues and problems I had with my membership there but I did not renew a couple of years ago. Additionally, picture every reject employee from all the Walmarts collectively in a room, and that's the pool Sam's Club uses to pick employees for the Sanford Sam's Club location. Even if you're calling a couple days before a hurricane hits to see if they have water in stock, they will literally laugh to each other on the phone and then hang up on you and not even address your question, and then deny that they did it when you call back and ask for the store manager. Like I said, stay away from Sam's Club, Walmart is not bad if you're not expecting too much and can change your shopping list on a whim depending on what they have that day, but the Sanford Walmart on S Orlando Drive is, unfortunately, one of the worst Walmarts I've ever been in my entire life. It is just not dependable enough as a neighborhood store for multiple and impromptu shopping trips per week or month. If you want that, you will be seriously disappointed with this location of the store. read more
