I use this Walmart supercenter as the place for my membership for grocery delivery. I've been doing this now for three years and it is a huge belief to have them shopped for the items, bag them, and deliver them. Even though there is a yearly fee and I give a tip to the driver, it saves me from over spending. Because I can see my total as I placed my order. I also physically go to the store to pick up items usually twice a month that I may have forgotten on my online grocery order. The store is always neat and clean and the last visit, there was a store associate that went out of her way to try to fix a price error. She was unable to override it, and I wasn't willing to wait for a supervisor so I just didn't get that particular item. As with a large store, there will always be issues here and there. My main complaint has always been the stores going to self check out. The store is usually stocked well and organized well. read more

If I could give this Walmart zero stars, I definitely would. No discerning markings on the outside of the building so that you know if you're going in on the grocery side or not. Go in one door when you arrive, get ready to leave, walk all the way across the store and that door is now closed. Locked up tight. No signs, no one there to tell you. On the way to that door with my carr full of sacks, walk past four Walmart employees and not one of them are smart enough to say to me, that door is closed/locked. So we had to walk all the way back across the store to get out the other door then once we got out that door, we had to walk all the way across the parking lot to get to our car that is parked at the locked door. This is simply a messed up place. I'd say lack of training, from the top down. Will not be back. As we were loading up our merchandise we saw at least 7 people go to the locked door to enter. Obviously, the doors are locked with NO signage denoting that the other door must be used, everyone we saw got back in their car and left. We also saw a half dozen people on the inside trying to leave that couldnt get out. Shame on you Walmart manager and staff. Seems like a fire hazard to me read more

I did not have a good experience visiting this Walmart. I had placed an order to be picked up. I waited over 30 minutes for someone to come out and that's after I talked to someone that did curbside pickup and went inside and spoke to multiple managers. Disappointing. Don't waste your time doing curbside pick up here. read more

This Walmart is the only pickup location that have RUDE staff members working online pickup. Every other location I go to I've raved about how pleasant they are, but this one is like they make it, a point to be rude Or hate their job. First incounter it was so bad that the store manager called me after hearing it from other staff said that she didn't understand how what occurred never should've happened and there people are being held accountable and offered me a store credit or gift card but I declined because I just knew(thought) after that encounter I would never see Walmart again. Here it is two years later and one year after giving them another shot. Same location, different people... I encounter ANOTHER unbelievably rude encounter. Where are they picking their staff from? And I realize that this location is a problem they don't even deserve one star because ain't no way. Here is the thing l guy that I was dealing with name was Antoine even when I asked his name he said it don't matter.. shocked and when I looked at his name and said Antoine from reading it on his shirt he said... I'm taking the order back. LOL I'm thinking sir that's GREAT because I have no desire to spend money with companies that hire rude staff members. I drove off!! I guess it was another customer who witness the encounter caught my attention and stopped me... we chatted about the incident she says that they were going to complain her words where he must of had a chip on his shoulder. I thought maybe she had her own reasons for being bothered I gave her my contact info and left My sister who's order I was picking up was also on a call with me. She hung up called customer service and cancelled her order. I left an online review and was over it. Well I assume it was ANTOINE because I got a call back on my phone from someone pretending to be a store manager because when I asked his name he did not disclose it. BUT he asked if I had two phone... taken aback I asked.. what?? Then I started thinking is he calling me back because she called. The young lady who stopped me.. she texted to let me know she called to complain she said she got to report the incident to a manager whose name was "Nick"?well after that strange call back on my phone I assumed that there was no Nick and Antoine decided to play on my phone. I let him know at that point I was recording the call because...why are you calling to HARASS me the consumer??. After the shocking question of do you have two phone I said what did you say your name was.. I asked my friend who was listening if he remembered getting a name when I asked the first time and he hadn't. Then I asked is this Nick or Antoine playing on my phone. (1st review of 2022) I did an online order on their app. I was happy that they had quite a bit of the items I was looking for. The app was pretty easy to use. The only thing I had an issue with is finding the online order pick up location at the store. I drove around the parking lot several times looking for the signs indicating the online pick up. I found the pharmacy pick up which was in aisle 3/4, but I couldn't find the online pick up area. So I called the store & the lady was helpful. She told me the online pick up was in the parking lot between Lowes & Walmart. I coulda sworn that I didn't see any signs for it. So I drove back towards Lowes & go figure, it was on the SIDE of Walmart between Lowes & Walmart. It wasn't actually in the main parking lot like the other Walmarts I've been to. Well, now you know! The pick up was quick once I parked & notified them I was there on the app. I was outta there in less than 10 mins. I would definitely order from this location again. A Hui Hou!! read more

my husband and I went to this Walmart on 65 street in Shawnee this morning. when we went to check out not one check station was open only the two self check at each end of the front. we both refuse to go through self check. my husband stopped to ask two workers that were up front standing around doing nothing (at least it looked that way) and their comment was the checkers were at lunch. it wasn't even 10 in the morning. that is why we quit going to the store. they are closer and thought we would give them another try. They added a mothers room for nursing mothers/associates. Not for their employees to sit on their phone in there on break. You heard my 3 month old baby crying because she was hungry. Your family restroom is closed. I will NOT feed my baby in a restroom while people are flushing the toilets and having pee and poop particles in the air. I speak with a manager and you tell e nothing you can do because they where on break? It was 25 minutes I waited nicely for this person to leave the room so I can enter and nurse my baby. They have messed up my pickup order time and time again. Helped people who came after mee because that person was nasty. Most recently they canceled $1000 order 15 minutes before I was supposed to pick it up. Didn't postpone it...canceled the entire order. When I called I couldNt speak to a manager, got the rudest people on the phone in the pickup area and as the operator. I was basically told too bad! Will NEVER be back! Enough is enough. read more

So tired of going to this Walmart and having to deal with carts randomly dinging my car and rolling around in the parking lot. There aren't enough cart corrals so people leave carts all over the place and it's dangerous and ugly (see pictures). The parking lot has potholes...nay...CRATERS all over the place. Half the men's bathroom was "out of service" for months. I tried to talk to the store manager about these issues and I was passed off to one of the assistant store managers who obviously didn't do anything. As a stock holder, I expect more from a company that I'm invested in. The store itself beyond that is normally fine. The grocery section, electronics, toys, automotive, seasonal, H&B, etc are usually all fairly well kept; but it can be difficult to find people to help (took over an hour and a half to get my fishing license 2 of the past 3 years). The sad thing is that this Walmart is still better than the 75th street/I-35 and 119th/Metcalf locations as the 75th/I-35 location seems dangerous and the 119th/Metcalf store is always a mess. I'll gladly start bucking up a few more $ to go to Target. read more

I was shopping for a particular item that was out of stock in the store shelves but an employee told me that they had plenty in the backroom. He told me the truck arrived and they had no space to search for the item in the back. Instructed me to return to the store in 2 days to get the items from the back. I attempted 2 days later & was met with the same response but this time was told they they only had 4 of that items in the back now but where it was it was not possible to find it. Was instructed again to come back to the store and try again. Two days later I came back & was told again that it's not possible to reach the item and would have to come back to the store tomorrow. This time the gentleman was understanding of my frustration & promised me he would set the item aside for me I would only have to ask for him when I arrived. The next day I searched & searched for him but was unable to find him. The only employee I could find was Leslie in the sporting goods department & when I asked to speak with the guy from the day before she said " who's asking" I explained & she refused to help with instructions to go to customer service and they would find out. She was rude & lazy with no intention to help me. read more

I don't care for this location but it is convenient sometimes, when I'm in this area. It is overcrowded, lots of traffic and rude, pushy people, a smattering of people with absolutely no manners or social graces. Walmart is convenience and low prices. Forget everything else. And sometimes, the suburban Walmarts are worse than the ones in the bigger cities. Anyway, there are a lot of other conveniences near this one which is the only reason it is getting 3-stars. read more

The last two times I have done grocery pickup it has been a disaster. The first time my order was sent to a different store because "the app is acting crazy" and this time I have been here in the spot for thirty minutes and watched everyone get their groceries but me. If it wasn't for one manager who actually cared about customer service and took the time to help his customers, the store would get a zero if that was possible. My son is 12 years old or will be on the day after Christmas, and I always try to get him something extra special for that reason. This year all my son asked for was a gaming laptop. I went online for this location and they said that they had it in stock and that I could pick it up later that day so I purchased it. When I went to pick it up they told me the item was unavailable. As you can imagine, I was very upset, because this was all he asked for. It looked like I wasn't going to be getting it, because the only options they gave me was to cancel the item and wait 3 to 5 days to get my money back, which Christmas would already be over, or I could wait to have it shipped to me and delivered on the 27th. Two days after Christmas would be when it would arrive. I go into the store in tears and ask to talk to a manager. Ian came up front to try and assist me. Not only did he look at other stores to try to get me the laptop that I asked for, but he also told me that he was going to go back and check to make sure that they didn't have it. Well what do you know, they did have it, and it wasn't even in the back!! It was literally in the electronics cage behind the counter!! Electronics must have not checked their inventory before they told me the item was unavailable. If it wasn't for Ian my son would not have gotten his Christmas present and our Christmas would have truly been ruined! So here's to you Ian! What is there to say? I generally avoid WM as much as possible, even succumbing to higher prices and better service instead. This is a split between 2 and 3 stars...it's really 2.5, and the .5 is only because of the helpful employees in pharmacy. However, today, I woke up early and had been needing to go the WalMart eventually. I needed to replace a cheap cheap floor lamp that previously was the best $15 I spent on a lamp! :) Luckily, they had it. However, WalMart at 9AM really isn't much better than WalMart at 9 PM, from what I could tell. You have the stockers to dodge as opposed to tons of customers....and I couldn't believe how many people were there at that time of day, on a Thursday! Of course, I found MORE things than I really needed (including stumbling onto a book from my fave author that I thought wasn't out till next week). I was looking for chewable adult vitamins in the pharmacy area, and although he didn't show me on the shelves, he tried to point out where they would be. Of course, I couldn't find them, and another employee walked by and offered to help me. She was very helpful, although the adult ones were out. (Went with Flintstones, in case you were wondering...almost exact same doses as Centrum...just missing Vitamin K) The store was clean and probably as good as any other WalMart would be, except for the less than friendly service I received from the check-out person, stockers and greeter. I mean, they are still called GREETERS, right? Or have they changed their title to ***Stare at you when you walk in and make sure not to smile or acknowledge you verbally**-ers? :) (of course, that's tough to put on a nametag or a future resume....) Sigh, just think, I'll probably have to back AGAIN in 1 or 2 years. read more

My biggest knock against this location is that they don't have the small hand baskets for shopping! This is one of the Super Walmarts that has groceries and everything under the sun in it. I usually go to Walmart for the lactose free milk because it is $2.00 cheaper here than anywhere else. This Walmart is just as good as any other Walmart. I have never meet an unfriendly employee here or had bad service. Sometimes they are a little backed up at the registers and a call for another cashier would help, but this happens at all Walmarts. This one is clean and well stocked. I was in there this week getting milk and a few other things, then remembered I had a prescription to fill so I dropped it off; did my shopping and it was ready to go when I got back to the department again. Their new pick up is awesome! You get a text that your item is ready to pick up, you park, walk in with your smart phone to the front of the store by the large tower by the self checkouts, Scan the barcode in your text message, and your item comes down from the tower, you pick it up and walked out the door. It takes all 12 seconds literally. We timed it three times. It is awesome! We love it! read more

I called tonight to see if they had an item. The first person I talked forwarded me to the department, then he came back on and I waited 10 min. I called back and explained what happened and they told me that there was nobody here in that department. I know that each individual isn't important to them because there are 20 other lemmings waiting in line. What a sad day when people aren't important anymore. There is such a defeated attitude there it is really depressing going in there. I am sure I will still have to shop there but I will do all I can to never go there again. Always going to get stars for convenience and pricing but corporate/management...wow. Do you need some improvement. First mistake: Closing of the pharmacy entrance on a Saturday. Secondly, do you know how many elderly and handicapped people(not numbers) had to walk an extra mile today because of your absentminded call? There was a 90 year old gentleman walking in. He obviously did not have a lot of strength. The 16 year old "manning" the entrance, turned him away. I get the kid was doing what he was told. Walmart, simply put, you guys need help. I live down the street from this location and sometimes have to go as it is the only thing open after I get the kids down at night. I'm seriously nervous going here at night by myself. They have a security guard now after a shooting and another incident involving a gun happened but I often see the security guards wandering the aisle looking for snacks or playing on their phones. Doesn't make me feel too safe... There is a sewage smell when entering the west entrance. I thought it was maybe a one time thing but it hasn't cleared up and it's been months. read more

This WalMart auto service department, located on Shawnee Mission Parkway and I-435 in Overland Park, Kansas, is the worst! I waited quite a while trying to get help to have some service done to my car. At least 5 people seen me waiting. Not one single person will come over to assist me.. Not once a person asked if I'd been helped. They just looked at me and went their own direction, doing their own thing. Way to go Walmart. My husband and I were shopping in your Shawnee KS store tonight on 3/2/13 at 8:51 pm central. ST#2855 OP#00005549 There were 4 - "20 or Less" checkout lines open and only 1 regular checkout line open in the whole store. All the lines were way backed up and the regular line had about 15 people with full carts winding down the aisle waiting. We found Ron the Customer Service Manager and ask him if he could open more checkout lines. His nasty yelling comment to my husband was "If I had more people, they would already be up here!" He had a very bad attitude and even your clerks at the checkout were shaking their heads. When my husband went back to ask his last name he said, "people have been yelling at me all night about the lack of help, just get in line!" And he refused to give my husband his last name. My husband never raised his voice or got upset with Ron. All Ron had to say was "I am so sorry; we are just shorthanded tonight". He certainly did not have to yell at customers and cashiers. Very poor customer service! We moved by this store 3 years ago and we are shoppers every week. We do not, nor do all the upset people in line, deserve to have him take his frustration out on us. This is the closest location to me and I avoid it like someone that has a bad cold. It's chaotic in the parking lot and in the store. Many times waiting in the lines is like waiting at the DMV. The very rare times I've gone is when they have their plants on sale. I have to deal with the parking lot, but at least I don't have to go in the store. They've tried to overcharge me so many times at this store (even after speaking to a customer service rep each time), I'm starting to list each time this happens: Update 03/23/2017: They tried to overcharge me for D'Anjou pears. Update 02/13/2017: They tried to overcharge me for 16oz bag of Fisher Walnut Halves and pieces. Update 02/10/2017: They tried to overcharge me again for Pink Lady apples. Update 02/03/2017: They tried to overcharge me at the register for Pink Lady apples. Many times in the past in addition to the above listed items I have been overcharged (mainly in the produce section). The following is what I left on the walmart survey: The price I'm charged at the register needs to match what the sign says on the shelf. I'm continually overcharged at this store for produce (and sometimes other things), as happened on this visit. I have complained to the produce manager and customer service (yellow vested employees) for three years (as well as the store manager a few times), and it keeps happening. I plan to leave a yelp review warning others not to be overcharged since most people probably don't remember the prices when they checkout at the register, and thus don't know they're being overcharged. Maybe this will get Walmart to clean up their act. I have given Walmart every opportunity to remedy this problem, yet all I get are various excuses about how the prices change daily, the prices change in the system before they can change the shelf sign, customers are changing the price signs in the produce department, and other various excuses. I think the Walmart employees are just giving whatever excuse they can come up with in the moment to try to get me off their back. The prices need to match! I feel like I am (trying to be) cheated when I shop at Walmart, although the price has always been adjusted for me at the register. This just means that everybody but me is getting cheated. Now that I'll be warning others, hopefully there will be more eyes watching the prices on the shelf and making sure they match what they're charged at the register. If there really is a problem with the system, the system needs to change so customers aren't cheated at Walmart. You can verify that I've been overcharged across my multiple visits by using my credit card number since I've used the same credit card on all visits. If it continues as it has been, I may file a complaint with the Johnson County District Attorney Consumer Fraud Division, which I have done in the past with another grocery store with good results. My complaining to their store managers on multiple occasions did nothing until I got the District Attorney involved, and now the price they charge me always matches what the price says on the shelf. I suppose most people need to be forced to do the right thing. read more

Friendly helpful workers, clean bathroom and the produce section is awesome. Shopping at this Walmart feels like you're shopping at an up scale grocery store. The line are short, no waiting in long lines, customer service is always nearby ready to answer and assist in any way. read more

The vision center here is just terrible. My mom needed her glasses fixed so we went here and SPECIFICALLY asked if they would be ready before she left the country for vacation in 2 weeks- they said yes, it would take no more than 10 days. I told her if they wouldn't be ready we could look elsewhere because we needed them badly within that time-frame. They said they would be- cool. We left them. They call us a few days later saying they're ready, we go and they say they called "by mistake" that they actually received the "wrong lense" so they would have to re-order. It had been a week by now, they said it would be no more than 2-3 more days. I've been calling and calling to check- they don't have them. They're "in process". I finally asked to speak to a manager today and she didn't even apologize. The girl that ordered the glasses originally obviously did not know what she was doing because she kept asking her co-worker that to do, then the co-worker ended up going home and leaving her to guess what she needed to do. She didn't care. Just terrible customer service. No empathy what-so-ever. Not from the "regular" employees, not from anyone. I mean, their "manager" Joan wasn't even empathetic, can't really expect your employees to be if you're not. Way to set an example. They clearly need new employees all around. read more
