I've been to my fair share of Walmarts, and honestly, they can be a bit...variable. But my recent trip to the Walmart Supercenter on kings Highway . was genuinely a 5-star experience! First off, the store was remarkably clean and well-organized. I could actually find what I was looking for without wandering aimlessly. The shelves were fully stocked, and the produce section looked fresh and vibrant. Secondly, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. From the cashier who had a genuine smile and quick checkout, to the associate who helped me find a specific item in the hardware department, everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. Never take your car to the Auto Service Center! So I had a flat tire. Aired it up and limped there from the house. Checked the car in. They said it would be an hour. I shop around the store. 2 hours pass. I check on the car and my key is laying on the counter. I ask if the car is done. Yes. Can't find the paperwork. Reprimanded paperwork. It says 'cancelled' The guy says oh it was fixed, the new guys in the shop don't know how to do paperwork. Sketchy. So I drive away. TPS says drive a few miles before the pressures show. Pressures are the same. Go back to Walmart. He assures me it is done. I told him I used a separate tire gauge to verify and clear it was not. Then he goes to get the tech. The tech says, no we didn't do your car. It has to go to the dealer or it will 'blow up'. I asked him to explain how? He said if all 4 tires come off the ground a MB deploys all airbags. I know long story short, the head mechanic (maybe that isn't the word for it) is not very bright. The managers are definitely doing a sh!tty job because all these complaints and none of them are doing anything to change it? Bought a "new" TV only to find out it was used and not the model that it stated on the box! Took it back and store mgr never came but a front end mgr did. tried to accuse us of doing it ourselves! Didn't want to help us until I asked for the corp phone number (which they refused to give me) and then I mentioned the CEO's name and then they took the USED TV back and credited my account. had the nerve to ask if I wanted to exchange it! I stopped at this Walmart while traveling through the area. I ended up stranded here all day since my vehicle died. I was in and out of the store many times throughout the day. All of the associates I dealt with were wonderful. I went over to the auto section to ask for help. One of the guys mentioned that he was about to go on break & to meet him out front shortly. He brought out some gizmo to try to jump my car. It was this small unit. We tried a few times but it didn't work. The shelves all looked full. Plenty of associates to ask for help and restocking the shelves. Plenty of product to choose from. The store was clean and lines at the open registers more than a couple times when I was in. Like I said. I was in & out of the store many times that day. They have a McDonald's inside and they were kind enough to let me use their outlet to plug my phone in to charge it back up. Do not come to this location for an eye exam. I cannot speak on the quality of service of the vision center inside of Walmart, however the optometry office is a scam. The optometrist at this location is Dianna Tran. First off, the receptionist couldn't understand why I was seeing an eye doctor for an annual checkup even though I did not wear glasses. Secondly, the eye doctor spent 3 minutes examining me. She had me read one of the largest lines, said I needed a prescription, even though I was able to read it. She then shined a light once over my eye and said "I've seen all I need to see here." This is the worst experience I have ever had at an optometrist. I see an optometrist yearly for checkups just to make sure the health of my eyes are okay. This was a sad excuse for an examination and a scam for insurance companies. I waited 20 minutes for a refund of my copay and I will be going elsewhere for my exam, I advise you do the same. read more

I would put zero stars, but there's no option for no stars! This store has gone from OK to terrible! Just left they're trying to buy ribs and the baby backs were dated for today. In my attempts to contact the Tire & Lube Center and even the direct number for customer service associates picked up the phone and hung up multiple times. I was in such disbelief that I called each number 3 times considering I'm on a flat and this is the closest location I could get to. I know an associate picked up the phone multiple times because in each attempt I had tell them I was on the phone because they were attempting to dial out. Since the store renovations were finished, there seems to be too much product that is being put on the shelves. But the bargains are still there; the best place to find items is either on an end cap or in the Clearance aisle, which is constantly being restocked throughout the day. The store is always crowded, and the best time to come into the store when it opens to the public at 6:00 AM. Most of the registers are closed at that time of the morning, but if you are paying with your card you'll be okay. **FULL DISCLOSURE**. I worked at this store for over five years; it goes without saying I am very familiar with each department; however, I have noticed a sea change (and not for the better). If you keep your expectations low, you'll fair better. Seek out the overnight people if you can; they know where everything is. If you shop early, there is generally a better selection of goods; if you try to shop later in the day or during the dinner hour, be prepared to wait in almost any department. I gave this review three stars because you still have to navigate the aisles. This is still a "good" store, but I know it can (and must) do better. read more

Pickup is a nightmare. Lady asked my husband to move to a different space and then accused him of me not checking in (order was under my name). She said she would be out with the order; he waited in his car for an hour, so he went inside and saw that employees were hanging around, taking up space and giving him sass. A note to those who wish to do pickup: just don't. While I thought it would've been convenient, it's quite the opposite. Impossible to reach anyone on the phone to confirm whether they have a tire in stock or not. Main phone line does not have a prompt for the car service center so I am forced to wait 7 minutes until someone picks up.They then transfer and I wait another 5 minutes to only be hung up on! Call back and can't get a person to answer to even transfer me back to car service and waited another 7 minutes until the system hung up on me again!! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! read more

Hands-down the absolute worst Walmart in Virginia. They are never stocked, they never have cashiers, and even the self check out is hit or miss as far as functionality. Worst auto center ever. I've been here 2 times. First to get an oil change. They ended up finishing my car but never came to get me so I was waiting an additional hour. Mind you I was waiting right there in auto center waiting area the entire time. 2nd time my car was first in line for an oil change ( i drive a Toyota) and it took them 4 hours to complete it. Last time i called just to get information regarding tires I had purchased from them i was on hold for 15 minutes. He greeted me then asked if he could put me on hold, then never came back. This place is always dirty, understaffed, & I swear it seems they never put inventory away because there's literally palettes everywhere full of merchandise in the middle of aisles. Not too long ago my husband & I went to get a few things. The bathroom sink was filled with vomit. I kid you not. & 1/2 the stalls had no type of locks! When trying to tell someone they're response "yea we know". They never have good stock in the fruit section. So don't try. Went grocery shopping last Sunday afternoon and there was literally two registers open along with self-check out kiosks. At least 20 ppl were in line at each register while 2 managers come walking out of a back office in front of the registers and I asked why only 2 were open. They said "we will see whats going on and walked away without even looking me in my eye." I know Walmart has been cutting a lot of their employees hours but for customer satisfaction you think the 2 managers who were on duty would already KNOW whats going on in their store and not have to overhead page more associates to come help because the line is outreageous. This location does not show up on Yelp for some reason, only the Garden and Photo centers. The downside is that it also means it does not show up in Apple Maps, so when we were looking for a Walmart near our hotel, it told us there was a Neighborhood location where there was a subdivision and then it told us the next closest location was a few miles out past this one. Whoever is managing Walmart's social media presence should look into and fix this. The store itself had a weird layout, I'm used to the pharmacy being on the left when you first entered and here it's like Target where it's in the middle of the store next to groceries. They did have a revamped electronics section which looked a lot nicer than the average store. I wish they would carry the Fiji waters in the sport bottle multi-packs. read more
