If it came down to…read morewhether I live or die, and this was the last pharmacy on earth, I would eagerly choose death. I was banned from the pharmacy because I complained about their obnoxious callback system that starts calling back incessantly to refill prescriptions before you even get home from picking up the first one. Instead of doing the logical thing and reporting the problem to someone at CVS who can actually fix their out-of-control auto-dialer, they decided it was easier to change my phone number to a fake number in the system, and then insisted it was all "fixed." When I pointed out that it doesn't fix the problem, it just creates a new one, the unpleasant woman who "helped" me got defensive (and rather ugly) about it. When I went back a couple of months later to pick up my first refill, she (same person) tersely informed me that the store would not be filling any more prescriptions for me - I'd have to go somewhere else, perhaps the next-closest CVS in Waynesville (almost 25 mile drive). I guess it's too hard for the mighty princess to provide good service to someone who doesn't bow down in full submissiveness to her royal presence. The pharmacist was standing right there listening to the whole thing, but I guess it was easier for her (the pharmacist) to ignore the customer's needs than to endure more wrath from the she-devil she has to work with every day. Who needs that kind of attitude? Called corporate to complain and sat in their queue forever until I finally was able to leave a voice mail. I asked them to leave a direct call back number if they missed me, because I wasn't going to sit in the queue on the main customer service number again. They dutifully left a message instructing me to call back (you'll never guess where) the main number (and sit in the queue again, and essentially start all over again). Not worth wasting my time. Plenty of other pharmacies in town (especially the one with the curly W like the Nats) who are happy to have our business and who don't treat customers as an unnecessary inconvenience. I'm banned, and I will never set foot in that CVS or any other CVS. You shouldn't either. On my walk of shame out of the store, I thanked the front counter folks for always being so nice, and I hope they have a nice life. #Done

At Walgreens, I shortest I was put on hold was 30 minutes and the longest was over 3 hours. The lines inside have been 30+ people when their drive through would break, which was a frequent occurrence. I made the switch back to CVS a couple of months ago and I could not be happier to be back. I didn't realize how good I had it until having the terrible experience with Walgreens Merrimon. CVS has a far superior contact service where you can leave them a message if they don't answer and they will get back to you. No more needing to wait on hold. It is very easy to communicate with the pharmacy, the lines are almost always short and efficient. The calls are also made directly to the store (unlike the series of hoops and contact with outside representatives prior to talking to an in-store representative). Even when CVS gets busy or has challenges, my experience is still far superior to that of Walgreens. If you are looking for a great pharmacy in the NAVL area, CVS is the way to go!

I left a review because I thought that we were regularly having a hard time filling compounded Tylenol. No one ever explained to us that there was another step required beyond our doctor sending over the prescription. We simply did not know. That lack of knowledge on our part lead to a negative review. It was a negative review so they called us. Ashley was immediately confrontational on the phone and called me abusive, although she was the one berating me. That being said, Ashley was absolutely cruel and callous over the phone, even taunting us "Goodluck" getting our meds and laughing for us to have. "Merry Christmas. Hahaha (a wild thing for a pharmacist to do) and hung up on me. All wildly unprofessional. I even called her back and attempted to reconcile although her behavior was abhorrent. It clearly did not work hence this second review. This is no laughing matter. Just kind of sad honestly. The other woman there seemed very nice. We will have to find a new place and I suppose that is what is best. Their management needs training. That's the bottom line. Disappointed more than anything. There are other compounding pharmacies. We will be fine. I wish them well, and thank them for their guidance after the fact and for the good luck wishes!

Kim's took over providing this special compound for me without missing a beat. I have been gradually moving all my prescriptions to Kim's, even though I have been going to the same commercial/chain drug store for decades. There is no difference in the price of regular prescriptions to the chain stores, so why not opt for the personal touch? If you're always in a hurry, or only refill your meds when you're completely out, or you like to peruse the various and sundry items typically found in the retail sections of drug stores... Kim's isn't that. Kim's is a solid health and well being community support system. The drive through check out is incredibly convenient, and it's nice to get off of the hustle & bustle of Russ Avenue or Main Street.

CLOSE THIS PLACE DOWN!!!! 100% HORRIFIC!!! Do NOT waste your time here!!!…read more ANYWHERE is a better choice than here!!!! This is ran more like a dive bar by drunks than a pharmacy. Dive bars are better places than this!!!! I moved here and wanted to establish with a pharmacy and chose this one because it looked historic and like it was a locally owned and operated business. I prefer to support local businesses. HERE is where family legacies and business's DIE. The customer service is so severely lacking that I had to wonder if it was a bad joke. They lost my prescription and decided not to fill it anytime within a week of dropping it off. They decided to verbally attack me as a group of three against me and try to dominate the narrative that their incompetence was some how my fault. They violated HIPPA and did not protect my medical information. I don't know how they keep their job , unless they are family. And if they are family then their family are rolling over in their graves and the ones alive must be ashamed by the disgusting display. I do not understand how they are in business unless their customers are loyal to previous owners/family members. Or their customers are afraid to speak or otherwise don't have a voice. Because these people do not understand or CARE about the job they are doing and the service they are providing. They held in their ability medicine that could save my life and treated it as an option. A OPTION that they didn't feel was worth anything but a bad attitude, and a combative behavior I have only seen from drunks in bars. This place is a disgrace!! A disgrace to the pharmaceutical profession! A disgrace to the wayneville community! A disgrace to the Hazelwood Village! A disgrace to their families! and to themselves!! Shame on you! Go be a bar keep! The lot of you! You are seem best suited to being bouncers at a dive bar then the people who can hurt or terminate the delicate medical conditions of people who need their medications. Find GOD!!!! He is lacking in your life severely. Go to church. Doesn't even deserve one star. This place needs to be closed down. Yep. Just like Haywood Regional Hospital a decade ago, this pharmacy had a breakdown two months…read moreago. It started with a simple phone call to refill a medication. Did that. My husband told me to call back to set a pick up time. Tried, but couldn't. I thought that was a little odd. We went to pick it up. We were rudely told at the pick up window that it was not ready because the CVS computers were down. And, we were told that the medication wasn't in stock. I was perplexed and worried about withdrawal symptoms. I asked what to do. The employee replied with rude words again. My husband parked the car and I suddenly wished he wasn't a human-grizzly hybrid. My brain nor body wouldn't let me catch up with him due to fear. He told a different pharmacist that his at-the-window pharmacist was rude. You know how it is- placating words to move us along. They did offer to give us some of the sought after medication if we brought the bottle in. We pondered that, but decided to wait for their computers to be fixed and to see if our original request had been received within their data banks. So, I called again either the next day or two days later to see if my daughter's prescription was ready, or if I had to resubmit the refill. Of course, it got even more bizarre. First, the woman told me that my daughter's insurance was no longer valid. (That problem got solved.) Then, I was told that I had to request from my daughter's medical provider that they authorize an override for this medication. Huh? Isn't that CVS's job? (In fact, it is.) When I called my daughter's nurse to do so, she definitely thought it was weird. She called up CVS and got even more weirdness. I am withholding the name of the employee whose shenanigans created unneeded work for others. Maybe she is related to the rude employee and was seeking revenge. We have switched to another pharmacy now. I will say that once they gave me a free, three-dayish dose of another medication when I forgot to renew it. That is good, but not good enough for me to go back to them.
