I love going to the mainland and seeing these huge Walmart Supercenters. I'm baffled at how gigantic they are and wonder why we don't have one in Hawaii. They have everything that you need at one place. It's like a regular Walmart, but double the size. They also have a deli that makes ready to eat food. I've always wanted to try their fried chicken, but we were too early and the deli wasn't open yet. Bummer! Their produce department is huge. All the fruits and veggies looked crisp and fresh. Their clothing department is also very big. I saw some really nice items and at good prices. The mister had a cold, so we just picked up some cold medicine and was on our way to get breakfast. read more

After encountering no mailing envelopes at a nearby Dollar Tree, I visited this Walmart Supercenter which was pleasant to see. Its location was tucked not far from Detroit Industrial Expressway out of sight; and its exterior design appeared like any other Walmart location. Maynard James Keenan (American singer) once quoted - "People have to follow their hearts, and if their hearts lead them to Wal-Mart, so be it." As an Illinoian who loves Big Ten college football, I loved the numerous Michigan Wolverine fan apparel stocked. If not for the unbearable prices, I would have likely purchased either a Michigan Wolverines or maybe even a Detroit Tigers t-shirt to take back with me to Chicago Illinois. Walmart ended up having the type of mailing envelopes I needed, plus more! I was shocked at the variety of bubble mailers stocked on shelf. Likely, I will make off-and-on trips to our Walmart in Chicago to purchase mailers since I am an avid shipper whether it be off of Poshmark or eBay. Another one of my purchases was a fleece since I had tossed my lightweight jacket during the Detroit Free Press Marathon. After seemingly an endless search through both the men's and women's sections I settled for a zip-up fleece jacket by George to wear on flight back to Chicago. Though I would have preferred black, it was the comfortable appearance that made it acceptable for me. Other than leaving this Walmart with a new desire to visit for mailing envelopes, I left in realization that even with self-checkout it does not help the checkout experience go faster because those machines are just not reliable. I visited this Walmart yesterday and found that on a Friday they had nearly all of the checkout/ cashier lanes open and staffed. it was a breath of fresh air and I hope Walmart is leaning towards continuing this service. I am so sick of going to stores where I have to shop for items in the store, check out myself, PAY to bag my own groceries and then go home and unbag the groceries and put them away. it's too much! Where the heck is the "customer service" these days. These retail stores should be ashamed. I can see a few self check out lanes for a quick in and out shopping, seems like every store thinks it's a good idea to have self check out, even the Dollar Tree. I hate going to Meijer now. Even if you go to the staffed checkout lane, you have to bag your own groceries or wait for the cashier to finish ringing you up and then they bag which is so stupid.They used to have the turn bagging. Now the area is stationary which is harder for the cashier and it slows down customers getting through the line. I feel that I am paying for these high priced items, I damn sure not going to bag them. I working for my money not working for Meijer. read more

I tried purchasing some grapes and the bags they had were really full so I grabbed one bunch out of the bag. At the checkout I was told by a cashier that grapes aren't meant to be sold like that, they are only sold in the bag because I need the barcode. Last time I checked there is a whole section on the touchscreen where you can look up the numbers for your produce. Walmart you need to do better with your cashiers. read more

Do NOT get delivery from this store!!! This is the 2nd and last time my delivery order time was not met. It was supposed to be here yesterday and didn't get here till this morning. The refrigerated items were warm and the frozen thawed, plus 9 items were missing! I do not drive and I'm disabled so I depend on delivery service being reliable, Walmart is the furthest thing from it. Very disappointed!! They asked for a manager when I explained I was there to buy shoes. On Aug. 24, I filled a 90 day script of 5mg requip, that I take for restless legs every night. On Nov 1st I realized I only had a few pills left and was thinking it was time to call for a new script, but looked at the date and realized I should still have plenty but was short 21 pills. There are some days I have to take a half of one during the day, but I knew it was not that many times to be that short and though maybe the pharmacy shorted me, but how could I prove that, so I called my doctor and explained the whole situation so he prescribed me 2 different 90 day supplies 1 for 2mg to take when i need it during the say and another 90 day of the 5mg for night time. When I picked up the scrip the pharmacy had only filled the 2mg because they said it was too soon for the 5mg. I explained the situation of taking half a pill during the day and need the new 5mg scrip filled as well (I didn't mention I think they shorted me) so they did an over ride and filled it. The first fishy thing was the 90 day 2mg was $24, but the 5mg only $5. When i asked why, they said they didn't know but said maybe my insurance covers more for the lessor mg. Didn't make sense but whatever. 2nd HUGE thing, I counted my 2mg script when I got home (they were out of the 5mg so I haven't gotten that one yet) and guess what?!?! The script is short 10 pills. Instead of 90 pills there are only 80. I will be calling them as soon as they open. read more

It was a little past midnight, and I was about to go to bed. I went to charge my iPhone and quickly realized that I left my iPhone wall charger at the company I was visiting. It was my only charger (I did not have another one with me or a spare at home) so I decided to go ahead and find a 24-hour Wal-Mart to pick up a new charger. Between Internet access and the many movies/television shows on my iPhone, a healthy charge is necessary for air travel. I pulled into this Wal-Mart around 3:45am (I had to get there early because my flight was leaving at 6:00am). This was a huge Wal-Mart featuring a grocery store inside near the entrance. I bypassed that and went straight to the electronics section, which was way in the back. Even at this early in the morning, there were a good number of customers shopping. The iPhone wall charger (Apple USB Power Adapter) and the cable (Apple Dock Connector to USB Cable) were locked up so I asked an employee for some help. There was actually another section that had them on display (and not locked up). He grabbed the two items and rang me up quickly. They were actually each priced $1 less than what you would pay at the Apple Store. I stopped by the hats sections on the way out. I wanted to pick up a Michigan hat for my friend, but their hats did not look that good. They had some nice looking toboggans, but I was not sure if that would be something she would usually wear so I passed on that and headed for the airport. I got to the airport and quickly opened up the USB cable and plugged it into my iPhone. I then started to open the wall charger adapter. It was packaged in one of those hard-to-open plastic shells where everything is taped up. But I eventually got it open and plugged my iPhone and USB cable into the wall adapter. I found an outlet (there were quite a few available at the Detroit airport) and the my iPhone began charging. I was about to throw out the plastic shell when I noticed something tucked behind the foam cushion that held the wall adapter. It looked like a cable of some sort. It was a USB cable. I did not need to purchase a USB cable separately (a waste of $19). In my haste, I had not read the small print. Pictures from Apple.com only showed the wall adapter (though it did state in the description that a cable is included). My fault. I should have read it more carefully. It would have been cool if the employee would have noticed that I did not need that extra cable. Overall, it was a pleasant experience--good value and relatively quick to get in and out. The place is so huge though that it is going to take a little bit of time to just find what you want. The big plus here though is that it is open 24/7. And despite the late hour, there were definitely enough employees on site to help and get you on your way. read more

This is the most disgusting place I have EVER stepped foot into. I grew up in the area, so this walmart was really my only option, as it was the only one in the area in the early 2000's. After I moved away, I started to frequent the Canton location, which truly feels like shopping in Beverly Hills compared to this location. The employees for the most part are rude, short tempered and simply uneducated. The customers are rude, rarely speak a lick of english and are also uneducated. This location is one of the few that has a live pet section. The fish are usually belly-up and they keep brackish fish in pure h2o water! HORRID!! I avoid this place like the plague. I recommend to all that you take a trip to another location. It is worth the drive, trust me. read more

As others have noted, this place is probably the worst Walmart around. I shop at Walmart often, and when I moved to Taylor not too long ago, I came here a few times at first. Now, if I want to go to Walmart, I will drive to the smaller Southgate location, Woodhaven, or Frenchtown. The problem with this location is quite simply the people: the workers and the customers. It's a dirty, understocked, and unorganized store. The whole environment makes you look over your shoulder as you elbow through the clutter. It's the kind of place where the fat black bitch with six kids buys two carts of junk food with your tax money and where wiggers look to see what flat-billed hat has the most stickers on it. Coming from manufacturing where efficiency is paramount, this Walmart drives me nuts! Having frequented this place after moving to the area, I try to avoid the cashiers who seem to be ignorant of how to work the registers. However, no matter which lane I choose I'm meet with incompetence. No cashier seems to be trained well which is evidence of a systemic problem that the Store Manager should address. Walmart is my FAVORITE place to go. Bar none, Chinese being involved or not Walmart is Part of my weekly shopping spree. So I expect alot out of a place that has put more mom and pop stores out of business then anyone. With that in mind I expect a full staff, and a clean store. If your willing to invest money to open up some times 2 in an area you must take care of these new "Super Stores" I give this Walmart a 2 because of the other 3 this one was very disappointing. Please! If you build a Walmart Parking is a MUST. no one should have to park a block a way to go to walmart. I finally get in and theres What??? No Carts!!! the few I found were littered with Kleenex and other germed filled goodies im sure. On the hard lines side things seemed very stocked with product but upon closer look pegs were empty in the toy isle, clothing lacked in other sizes besides small, and the electronics seemed a little under par. Because of the area there was a spanish section of videos which somewhat took away from other movies that could have easily been added as well. The Food Section was lacking terribly.people enjoy one stop shopping spots now. But I will have to go to another store to pick up the odds and ends. For a store this size and with as much foot traffic as a concert lot, you need to Supply for the demand And Finally. I noticed no exployees to ask questions for except for on my way out when I noticed 5 women together discussing topics other then work down the main isle by the cash registers! Oh well what can you do other then.. Go to the other Walmarts. My Final advice is to pass this one up go the extra few miles and find another Walmart! read more

My husband and I went to this location to get a table. The table we decided on had the corner ripped off where the bar code was. I asked to see a manager and we waited for over a half hour just to tell us that we need to speak to someone up front. When we got up front, the store csm said she didnt know what I was wanting help with after explaining to her. I ended up having to take her all the way to where the table had been to "check" the price. All in all, the csm was helpful. I got the table half off due to a scratch on it, that I didnt know was there. read more

I have shopped at that Walmart since it has been open and never had a problem with an employees there. Maybe customers that complain about employees should look at themselves. I waited in the long line for about 15 minutes and the cashier ran out of fives and singles , so she had to call for the manager, another 10 minute wait. Finally, he arrives and says, "Just close your register. I don't feel like going all the way back in the back to get you more money." I read some reviews about this place before going in, and still took a chance of going here. Since its 24x7 Walmart, thought I can get in and get out quick to get some napkins and laundry detergent. Guess what, it took me 40 mins to do that. Some of the reviews are apt, of the employees being trainees, and not trained completely. Not many knew what was placed where. I couldn't get any direction to begin with when I was looking for the detergent. When I did indeed find one, there was no price tag on the shelf (should have taken a picture). While I was here, I remembered I needed some onions and cilantro, for which I headed to the fresh produce section. Finally when I made my way to the counter for checkout, considering I had some fresh produce didn't want to go to the self checkout. I have had issues with that in the past for not representing the correct weight and stuff. Since I had only 4 items, thought I could use the express line. But thanks to the service staff and late hours, only 1 counter for express checkouts was open. And two more counters throughout the store. Well there were enough people in the store to begin with and there was a huge queue at each of these checkouts. Frustrated I waited in the line, and worse thing the tag won't ring on the laundry detergent. The lady on the counter called someone to go check the price, which took more time. Why can't they look up the price on their systems? Frustrating experience never going here. read more

First off I don't like shopping at Walmart, I don't agree with the way they treat their employees or their politics. However sometimes it's a necessary evil due to the hours and location. I had such a crappy experience last time I visited that I need to write this review to vent. It was early in the morning about 7am and all the employees were stocking the store. I overheard two female employees having a conversation with each other that was extremely inappropriate I was left thinking wtf can't you see customers are here you ignorant people. Also I went in specifically for a cooking pan. I choose a middle of the road pan, not the most expensive or the cheapest the middle priced one. I took it to the register and unbeknownst to me it didn't have a bar code. The cashier very rudely told me I can't get the pan I told her I specifically came to Walmart at 7 AM to get this pan this is the only reason I am here! So I urged her to call the department to find me the barcode so she sent someone with the expensive pan far more expensive than what I planned to pay, and then told me I had to buy that pan. Regret-tingly I bought that stupid expensive pan and I'm still seething over it! I work far too hard to spend my money on something I don't want but I wanted so badly to leave that store. She had a nasty attitude. Between her and the other ladies and their rude conversation I left Walmart in a bad mood. read more
