Had a pretty decent shopping experience until I got to checkout and a woman with a horrible wig and even more horrible makeup resembling Shanaynay from Martin came over to assist with checkout at a line with a cashier already there. This review is for Walmart Supercenter in Willow Grove, PA. Some of the comments could apply to the other Supercenter stores. Reading other Yelp reviews on the Willow Grove store confirms the why of my experience. A number of the reviewers commented that they drive past other Walmart locations to shop the Willow Grove store. Well, there are times when I have shopped there that it looks like a parking lot cleaner was driven through and whole isles of sheves are sucked clean. With the outbreak of Covid-19, the store has been racing to stock shelves. In the morning hours there are nearly as many employees stocking vs shoppers. All said, there are advantages to shopping at this Supercenter. Location proximity. Like most store chains there is different availability for products. These sleeper items that I like should be found at most Supercenters. Moreover, these cannot be found at competitor stores. Walmart Ciabatta Rolls. Plain and Onion. These are a family favorite. Around our house, Ciabatta Rolls are the base for hamburgers; Nearly any sandwich; and a breakfast bread. No breads are as good in competitor stores in the region. Highly recommend. Walmart - Great Value Organic Ketchup. Because of health concerns, I stood in the condiment isle for 45 minutes reading ingredient labels. To me this is a sleeper, because the product is organic and very price competitive. While shopping I will see others bypass and pick up the name brands will all sorts of stuff I cannot eat. Brahma Steel Toe boots, I have multiple pairs of these boots. One pair is over 10 years old. These have been in dirt, mud, and snow. I call them my Sunday shoes because total wear time is about 1-2 months per year. I am sure if these were worn daily the lifetime would be shorter. For the price, these are a great outdoor shoe. Walmart Scan-n-Go, with the outbreak of Covid-19 I stopped using my reusable bags. However, with Scan-n-Go I have resumed the the use of reusable bags. So, to me the big benefit of this process is that the items go into the cart once. Like online shopping, the running total is helpful. Scan-n-Go takes a little longer, but final checkout is fast. Grocery Pickup/Delivery works hand in hand with instore shopping. Walmart posts instore purchases in my customer favorites. I now have built up a favorites list the makes item selection for pickup and delivery very fast. I have been slow to adopt online for fresh produce and meats. So, when I set up a pickup, I also do instore shopping. Although not related to the Willow Grove location, I also use Walmart.com. This makes for a powerful shopping system. Some items that we consume are more readily available on Walmart.com. Some items on Walmart.com that are instore may carry a higher price. It really pays to compare prices with other online retailers as well. Often, prices are better at Walmart. On odd example is a Raspberry Pi SBC. The price is competitive and can have shipping cost included (free). Walmart needs a rethink on product stocking. My experiences at the Willow Grove location with the employees has been great. Professional, courteous, and helpful. read more

Utter disgrace of a store. I went to this "super" store because it was on the way....what a mistake. First off, there's carts flying and rolling around the parking lot waiting to ding your car. Seems every one has a handicap parking pass and they all want to park as close as possible. They wait and wait blocking traffic. So just to get to a safe spot is a challenge. Cars stop in front to load up their trunks instead of walking to their parked cars causing even more of a hazard. It's a miracle no one gets run over. Once inside is gets worse. You're dodging fruit that's littered on the aisle through the produce section. Nothing looks anything remotely edible. Even the produce on the shelf's! Bread section seemed it was from last month. Made it to the coffee aisle,,grabbed a coffee kcup box and bolted to the self check out. Waited and waited for people with 67 items in their cart. Half of the patrons are wearing masks and half of them,...nothing. No 6' distancing either. Finally checked out and it felt like I needed a shower as I closed my eyes and prayed not to get killed in the parking lot as the police pulled up front for a disturbance or something. Gotta be the dirtiest,, most disgusting and least welcoming Walmart I've been too. Just avoid this place at all cost. read more

I have been shopping at this walmart since before they moved to present location from Acme shopping center. I have noticed a big difference lately. Your help is rude to customers. And if you have the audacity to ask for help- 9 out of 10 employees give you the cold shoulder and make you wonder why you even bothered. I love the store but the help needs to learn about customer service. Especially the employees who run around the store filling orders for shoppers who pick up their groceries. You almost take your life in your hands if you encounter one of these employees- if you don't get out of their way they almost run you over. I'm not saying that all employees are like that- because there are some very special Ones that I can't name but can tell you they make your store shine. One lady is at the self checkout and is older and has gray hair- another is short and is older and has dark hair and the last one is in a line she is older and is thin and average height and all three of these ladies always has a smile on their face and are always helpful. You need more employees like these three , hate to say it but the young ones do not know how to speak to people , plus I see the younger ones on their phones texting a lot- that can't be good for business- their not working if they are on their phones. What a mess!!! I had to seek out help in the electronics section for a game as countless employees walked passed me. Some even cursing about someone but thanks to the older lady in the back area near the games for being polite even boxed it up because they didn't have cash in the back so I could continue to shop. I come to walmart for everything from water, clothes and food. The parking lot is always full and it kind of annoying but I guess it's always busy because of the great deals. I usually buy food for big parties so my cart is always full. A downside of Walmart is the long lines. They never have enough cashiers and the lines are always so long. I wish this place was faster at the check out however I still purchase merchandise and I wait in the long lines. Also some employees are helpful and some are not but I guess you find those employees anywhere not just Walmart. Overall I will keep coming back to this Walmart I just wish some positive changes will happen in the future. read more

I am uncertain how a store is open 24 hours & there were literally 20 employees standing around, including a manager but I was unable to return a bag of rotten lemons I purchased the day before. The service was slow. The staff continued to meander and walk around as if they were lost and walking in circles. After finally getting service, almost 15 min later, I picked up a few items. After making my other purchases, I went through the self check out line and was disturbed by realizing I was overcharged for another item. I returned to the produce section to verify that organic Lemons were priced at $3.34, but I was charged $4.96. Again, I had to return to customer service to have this rectified. This store needs some mass retraining of staff and management for the service here was truly subpar. In addition to the price gauging tactics that must be corrected. read more

This Walmart is huge, and has a lot of great products. The aisles make it super easy to find everything. I am giving four stars rather than five because I was looking for a specific sweetener (Swerve) and I was looking for that brand for confectioners, granular, and brown sugar. However, they only had granular, and it was on the top shelf. Self check-out was also super easy. read more

Had a return, there were 10 people in front of me and a slow sales associate doing an awful job! I like shopping at Walmart stores, but all of them have a big issue with returns. I had my receipt and the sales person wanted to give me a store credit. After my long wait to return, I checked out their restroom! Another mistake. It was as if it had not been cleaned for months. The store itself was pretty good. It's a super store, these are the best since one can find almost everything you want in them. This WalMart is tremendously better than the Cheltenham location, however not by much. Don't try to return anything here if you have less than an hour to spare. The manager is difficult to find- stood in electronics for 35 minutes waiting for approval to ad match an item. The parking lot is dangerous. I was here on Black Friday and despite the crowds, it was probably the best shopping experience I've had here. All registers were open and the cashiers were good natured and efficient. Why can't this happen all the time? The location is extremely convenient, near Lowe's, Sam's Club, and numerous chain restaurants. read more

I wish I could give this location ZERO stars. This Walmart is an absolute disgusting disgrace. Most of the employees are rude, ignorant and have ZERO concept of manners or how to behave in a place of work. Wal-Mart corporate should be ashamed of the circus that store is. The employees couldn't care less. They are constantly on their phones, they ignore you and on more than one occasion I've asked the location of something and instead of saying, "I'm not sure let me try to find out" or something of the sort, their response is "don't know". I'm sorry, don't you work here? The employees scream to each other and curse like they are hanging at a friends house. They sit on the ground outside the doors and eat, smoke, whatever. Horrible customer service in the garden center. There was a product placed in the wrong spot at a lower price. I ask associates for help and they basically blow me off telling me I'm out of luck. They even tried to insist that I moved the product there, really!!! I ask for a manager and the guy literally says "are you really going to make me walk all the way over there". I said yes because you get paid to, and received a pissedoff look. I explained that when I'm at work and make a mistake, we make it right for the customer, they literally laughed at me They finally agreed to take money off but ignored me throughout the whole checkout.The employees here are trash, not even worthy of flipping burgers. Ordered online for store pickup. App doesn't have the order info. Clicked on the url sent by text before arriving. Noticed there was no social distancing in store or in lines. Pick up counter is in the back of the store, with no visible signage. Nobody at the counter, took asking 2 employees and waiting 10 minutes for someone to show up. The order was not ready. The associate was wearing her mask barely at the tip of her nose. Another employee was walking from the warehouse area to the bathroom inside the pick up area with no mask on. As most of the order was canceled (items shown in stock, then an email that almost none were in stock) I reordered for a different store. As I won't go into Walmart again until post-C19, I called to arrange curbside (supposedly available, didn't show while ordering). phone doesn't get answered at the Philly/Bybery Rd location, calls disconnects after ringing for 5 minutes (4 times). If you enjoy waiting in long lines, I highly recommend the Willow Grove location. They have 15-18 registers and never have more than 2-3 open. Even the self checkout line can frequently be seen wrapping around into the grocery aisles blocking customers entering the store. The only time I have somewhat enjoyed shopping there with an expedited checkout experience was during a major snowstorm. read more

I created a Yelp account just to post this review. That is how passionate my feelings are towards this Walmart. Not only are they perpetually low on inventory. THE LINES ARE ABSURD!!! I have lived in multiple states and I can say with complete sincerity, this is the WORST Walmart I have ever been to. Half the times I will walk in, see the line wrapped around the building. This older man at Customer Service didn't let me finish about the price discrepancy as he proceeds to point at a sign about "As of Aug 1, no price matching..." Also tells me, "also means no price matching on Walmart.com". Are you kidding me?? How are you not honoring a price that is listed on your own site!? **And no where it states on the Walmart product page that this is an "online price only deal" - I checked this page up and down when I got home. I might understand if you refuse to price match OTHER stores, online outlets..but refusing to give me the price that is clearly stated on your own website and charge me $20 more!!? It's extremely deceptive practice. This older man at customer service then rudely asks.."Do I want the item or not?" I said "Yes...at the price that is listed on your own website!" He then proceeds to push the item to the side and said "next in line." I abruptly left and bought the item at Home Depot a few miles away. For a second I wanted to talk to this Walmart store manager...but at that point I was beyond annoyed and wanted out of this chaotic dump. So this is how they actually treat customers..I guess I'm not shocked since I've seen the horror stories how they treat their own miserable employees. **UPDATED*** I moved this from one to three stars. Still not my favorite store BUT heard from the actual store and had a very nice conversation about my concerns with one of the managers. Thank you!!!!!! The last THREE times I have gone to this location I have had awful service. I will no longer go out of my way to shop here. The last time I went, they screwed up my layaway and the cashier threw a tantrum...A TANTRUM. Then proceeded to throw something at the wall, breaking several christmas items. All of this in front of management. I ended up canceling my layaway. I called the corp number but it was obvious no one cares about how we were treated at this location. Lesson learned.. My boyfriend was in need of new work boots so he stopped here last night. He didn't realize they now are not open 24hrs, so he decided to come back this morning before work. Aside from one line being open in the entire store, one of the team members gave him an issue that was pointless. He told the lady after buying his boots that he didn't need his receipt because he was in a rush. He got toward the front entrance and the worker literally ran out from a door to ask him where his receipt was and if he paid for the boots. he told her the lady had his receipt, he was just in a rush and didn't grab it but had already paid for the boots. Instead of being nice about it, the woman literally snatched the boots out of his hands and said "well this is mine now until you have a receipt". excuse me???? sorry, but if someone snatches anything that i paid for out of my hands, there's going to be a problem. there were so many ways she could have been nice, but instead she acted rudely and disgustingly. i knew i hated this walmart for a reason. read more

I have been to this location 100s of times, both day and night. As with all Walmarts there's never enough open, why!?!? Although during the holidays someone took charge and started directing customers to open lines and made sure registers were open. It's huge inside, bring walking shoes! Way less than 1 star. always have to stand in line. never have enough cashiers open. was there twice yesterday because I could not wait in line for over 30 minutes to buy 2 items. only 3 cashiers open and 10 to 12 customers in each line. self checkout was backed up to the freezer department in rear of the store. this was 11:15am. Came back at 3pm and almost the same thing. Only 3 lines open with over 12 people in every line. Self checkout was a little better, only 18 n line. 1. Shelves are a mess and not properly stocked..Ever 2. Never enough cashiers 3. RACISM I was waiting in the line at customer service. I was the 3rd person in line with several more people waiting behind me. There was no one at the customer service registers. An employee dressed in a burka named Kareema opened a register at customer service and picked the 4th person in line to help... who was also wearing a burka. They greeted each other with "As-Salaam-Alaikum" followed by "How can I help you?" so no, they did not have a prior store transaction in progress. Kareema cut the line for a woman who was Muslim.. because she was Muslim. Not fair, this is America and ALL AMERICANS SHOULD BE TREATED EQUALLY REGARDLESS OF ETHNICITY OR CREED. Complaining to management was a shit show but Manager Lisa eventually took my complaint and assured she would view the camera footage. I'm going up the ladder though. I took pictures of the debacle and have the receipt w/time stamp so yeah, it's on. So unless you absolute have to go here, I would suggest another store. The place is ghetto. read more

It always takes forever to get lunch meat at this Walmart. A bunch of young people who would rather goof off then help people waiting. Every Time I am here there is only one person cutting meats with 3 or more customers waiting while 3 other people are near the fried foods with 0customers. Oh my! The retail department of the store and the employees are not what I would call 5 stars but they are at least acceptable. The Customer Service department on the other hand is another subject. I have never seen such a blatant display of unprofessionalism in a long time. The whole area is disheveled and disgusting. If you happen to be lucky enough to be there when more than one associate is attending to the ever present lengthy line, don't be surprised if the line still crawls. I can't figure out which is worse, watching employees engage in gossip and/or horseplay with one cashier in front of a supervisor who finally implores them to "not in Customer Service" as they turn and look at some of the 31 people in line as if we're imposing on them OR after your 36 minute wait, you're told to join the group to the left until someone who can complete your transaction becomes available. (What?) Then another agonizing wait until horseplay and/or gossip gives way to "Customer Service". I have witnessed some form of the above incidents a handful of times. I came in this store probably about quarter after nine at night. As I was walking in four ladies, not related in any way were talking up the entire aisle. Slow pokes!!! You see people working and you see people hide in the back where the restrooms are. Me and four other people walking around looking for a sales associate and I spoke to three people and they just didn't seem to wanna help! We'll, except for the little guy in the garden center. Finally after waiting five minutes some "Big Big guy Tyrone comes out. Does not engage me, just looks in my direction. I'm like "Excuse me? Do you work in the electronic section? And if so, can you please, help me?" He looks at me and looks at the shelf and starts walking away but, toward the counter. So..I fallow him! As he gets to the counter a lady is standing there she ask him for help and he mumbled something to her. I couldn't hear him! "He says Miss we only got it, in this color! I said, I don't care what color It is as long as it works!" I hate this location, it was better when it was in its original place. Different kind of people then, more pleasant! read more

Online grocery ordering with pickup was amazing! I searched each item I needed and added to my cart followed by an easy checkout. This was about 10pm last night. I was given one hour windows for next day pickup and selected 9-10 am. At 8:45 the next morning I received a text that my order was ready with a link to let them know when I was 'on my way' so they could have my order ready. When I clicked 'on my way' some sort of gps is activated and they are notified how far away I am. Follow the signs around the building where there are parking spots 1-12 clearly marked. As soon as I pulled into spot 2 I got a text saying 'you've arrived; tell us which spot number'. This was seriously amazing to me. After I entered spot 2 and color of my car an associate was at my car loading my groceries into the back. (no tip is allowed) My order was perfect with produce separated from cleaning supplies, separated from food items. The produce was fresh and I saved about 45 minutes and never even got out of my car. I avoided Walmart in the past because I had trouble finding things, parking lot crowded and lines long. This is a game-changer for me and I highly recommend giving it a try! read more

i went to the vision center in this walmart- STAY CLEAR! i made an appt...still had to wait to even "check in"..then i had to wait 45 mins while the idiots who worked here tried to figure out if they took my insurance...............THEN to be told, well we cant find it..so...do you wanna pay full price? UH NO IDIOT. then a young lady walked over to the guy helping me and started complaining about a customer who arrived early...really rude....i went to lens crafters in the wg mall and she took one look at my insurance knew if they took it or not. read more

This is one of the better walmarts I have been to on the east coast. It's a 24 hour super center which I love. The store is huge, has fresh grocery and is better than the average Walmart. Their food section is big and I love the peanut butter aisle because they have almost any kind of peanut butter you could want. If I lived in the area I would do a lot of my grocery shopping there. read more
