This is not a welcoming place. The staff is impolite, short, and don't really care for your business it seems. No smiles, no "hello, how are you doing." Yes, those small things matter. Rude over the phone as well. It surprises me that so many other have pointed this out on the reviews and yet still the same unwelcoming culture. On top of that, they seem to overcharge for the eye exams. Each of my bills over the past few years have been close to $500, for a simple eye exam. Contacts through them are an additional $400. Save your time and money and go to COSTCO. $95 eye exam (if no insurance), $117 for 6 months supply of their Kirkland contacts, which work really well. 2 stars because the optometrists were helpful. Horrible service by the front end staff and over priced glasses. I had my eyes examined for glasses first. Then during the pricing phase of the process I informed the representative that for the contacts I will be ordering the contacts online and I just wanted the prescription. At that point she become very rude and degrading. I was just going to walkout but I already had the exam for glasses and didn't know how that would affect my insurance. I did inform her that it is illegal to deny me my contact prescription if I choose to order them online. Needless to saying will never return and did file a complaint with the FTC. Ok I guess. I took my son here and my other son to america's best. For some reason thing were more expensive expensive than america's best.

I've been coming here for more years than I'll admit. But I'll say this. The optometrist that helped me and my brother with our first pairs of glasses still works here. From time to time I've gone to Americas Best or Lens Crafters. But after moving back to the area after a number of years, I'm never going anywhere else for eye care again. I've gotten glasses and contacts here and had great experiences. I love their selection of frames. They even helped me order a frame in a different color than the ones they had in stock. They also helped me change over from 30 day contacts to 1 day contacts. It's 100% worth it for the comfort and ease. Two experiences I had here really show their commitment to their patients. First one was when I got a nasty eye infection. It felt like I had steel wool in my eye. I called them and they squeezed me in within an hour on a busy Saturday. The Dr. was great at explaining my diagnosis to me, prescribing antibiotic drops, and giving me tips to prevent infections in the future. Very caring, I was totally at ease even with my eye in excruciating pain. Secondly, that crazy machine that blows air in your eye? I've always been deathly afraid of it. The Dr.'s assistant actually helped me get over my fear. She didn't pressure me or make me feel like I was just being a giant baby about it....She was great. Mad props. I've been wearing glasses and contracts for 20 years now, so I've seen my fair share of eye doctors and practices. I can tell you without hesitation that this is the friendliest, most professional, and most welcoming practice I've ever been to. Every time I walked in the door I was greeted warmly, and told how long I might have to wait, which was never more than 5-10 minutes. The time between the standard tests and when the doctor saw me was extremely small, and when the doctor was with me he was extremely patient, polite, and well spoken. I felt like I was the only patient in the place, even though I knew there were others. This was a great change from the "get em in, get em out" places I've visited in the past. I had to try a few different contact lenses over a few weeks because my eyes are ridiculously picky when it comes to what they allow me to put in them. Every time I returned to try a new pair the staff was patient and asked plenty of questions to make sure that I was happy and comfortable with the new prescription. I love that he business has been around for so long, and I will be continuing to come here in the future. read more

I have to echo so many of the other reviews that point out the front desk staff. From day one I have dreaded coming here because I'd have to deal with them. They are unpleasant and not very friendly. There is one in particular that seems to run the front desk gang that is the worst. I saw Dr. O'Shanuasey (sp?) when I came here and she was really friendly and helpful. However I found that anytime I went there I was gone for like an hour and a half to two hours. Way too long for an eye exam in my opinion. The breaking point for me is that when I was in a pinch and had run out of contacts, they refused to give me a pair to get me through the weekend even though I had been seen a couple of days before for another issue. I was told that the doctor hadn't looked at my eyes for contacts. I was there an hour and a half and they didn't know if I could have a pair of contacts though I'd been going there for five years and wearing contacts for 20. They also wouldn't fit me into their schedule so I could be seen in the next two days and told me I would have to wait until after the weekend. I could see if I were a new patient or they hadn't seen me in a year - but they should have made some kind of exception for me as I had just been there. I have had enough of the front desk staff and the long appointment times - I called another place and got in the next day with out any issue. read more

I just had my first appointment at Choice and had the best experience. I've been wearing corrective lenses since I was 11 yrs old and I have never had such a thorough doctor. Dr. Shiela O'Shaughnessy had the most positive attitude. Her cheerfulness made the visit so pleasant. I have never had a doctor want to take photos of my eyes, flip over my eyelids to exam under them, do an exam with and without my contact lenses in.....I'm just so impressed. It's comforting to know someone cares so much about my eyes. read more

Choice Eye Care is great and has saved my eyeballs in more than one situation! They've fixed glasses for me on short notice (like walking in with my sad, crumpled glasses and fixing them, and fixing them to fit better than they did before I smooshed them!), as well as kept me in my contacts! I sometimes forget to order my next round before I've already run out, and they always get the next round of contacts in for me extremely quickly. Front desk staff is excellent and friendly, very professional and know how to run a business. Good selection of frames too - they'll help you choose a pair if you ask - I look good when I leave! Not to mention the lenses themselves are way better than anything I have received at Lenscrafters and the like. read more

The only reason I started going to this place is because I followed Dr. Victoria Trieu here. I had Dr Trieu for years. She used to work at my local Costco. She then moved to this place. The receptionists at this eye care are UNBELIEVABLY rude. You call them and all they do is give you attitude. I had to go in to test my vision through a trial pair of contacts. I didn't wear my contacts to the place because I just wanted to put them in when I got there. The receptionist was like well go put them in what are you doing? My doctor told me that another trial pair of contacts was going to be sent to my house. I got a text saying that the contacts were in. I figured that it was in the computer to send them to my house. I called 2 weeks later and the contacts were sitting in the eye care the whole time. Never shipped because it was "never requested." Would never use their services outside of seeing the doctor. Been here twice but as far as I'm concerned they have my business going forward. They are always helpful and informative. The two doctors I have seen both have great "bedside manner" in regards to talking to patients and helping to find the best solution based on the needs of the patient. I have confidence in their medical judgement and professionalism. The style of their client interaction, however, leaves much to be desired. Walked in the door - three people sitting up front in the office area - but not one "hello" or "welcome" or even a smile. Ushered back to a small room for some eye tests - two of which were represented as being "optional". I chose one of the two - but at the end of the appt. I presented a disclaimer / waive of liability form signifying that I had "REFUSED" an exam. (I did no such thing - an option was presented, it was discussed, and I declined.) Other staff came in to perform other tests - no introductions, no "hello - my name is ...", just cold, stiff, unfriendly. All members of the staff seemed like they were rushing. Doctor I saw was fairly nice, but can't speak for the other ones. However, the office staff leaves something to be desired. They came off as rude and impatient. Getting a copy of my prescription was like pulling teeth. I get it, you want to sell product from the office, but I had to make a second stop to pick it up since they originally said customer service from another provider has to call or email to request a copy of my prescription. Terrible business. I went there for a normal eye exam which I was told would be covered under my vision insurance (minus my 20$ copay) and months later I receive a bill for additional services that were performed. I was not notified that these services would cost extra. After paying 340$ for prescription sunglasses they are still trying to nickel and dime me. After my eye exam the Dr recommended I come back in for additional screenings. Not that anything was wrong with my eyes but just to get a baseline. I told her that I wasn't interested and that I just wanted to know my prescription for new sunglasses. Then I get to the front desk and they are trying to schedule my follow up appointment. They are very pushy and rude. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

I've been coming here forever, and they're awesome! They have gotten me in at the last minute and have accomodated me very well. All the doctors and receptionists are fast. very helpful, and most importantly nice! I have two pairs of glasses from them and I was able to switch frames and tighten frames all in one visit.
