One year I was stuck with my son, husband and myself all needing new glasses at the same time and we worked out an arrangement that didn't kill us. The usual deal is that you pick out your frames, place half down and the rest at delivery of the glasses which is usually about a week. This is a small business, not like Pearl Vision or For eyes--which means that the same people that waited on you last year will be there next year. The prices are a bit more because of this, but so is the quality of customer service.

As a new patient it took about a month to get an appointment and most unfortunately, the next step requires a separate appointment which is 5 weeks out. That puts the necessary surgery another 4 to 6 weeks out. That's a long time to fix an issue. However, the Dr. made me feel comfortable and was amicable with solutions to my issues and concerns.

My family of 4 followed Dr. Robert here when he started his practice about 12 years ago and we love the eye doctors at Midwest eye. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Optical Department. Very disappointing. I happened to be in the area and arrived right after they opened one morning, not one customer in Optical or in the waiting area. Asked for a 2-3 minute adjustment to my frames that had been purchased there. Overheard front desk asking Lisa in Optical and she said no, I'm busy, she needs to make an appointment. She didn't walk 15 feet to come over to see what I needed or speak to me herself. I had even said I had no problem waiting if she was busy. They just told me to make an appointment and come back another day. No thanks. I'm not going to take time out of my workday and drive 20 minutes each way to come back for something that should take 2 to 3 minutes. This massive lack of customer service is not on brand for the treatment that we receive from Dr. Robert or Bauer and was highly disappointing. Midwest Eye Optical will not be seeing another dime of my hard-earned money. If we didn't love the eye doctors so much I'd be finding a new one for all 4 of my family members. I ended up returning three pairs of prescription glasses and, after having a second exam from an ophthalmologist, was told WP made my prescription nearly twice the level I needed. It's about quantity of people coming through the doors, not the quality of the exam.
