Coming here because this place is in-network with my insurance & they're open on Saturdays! Their…read morehours are convenient for those who are working M-F. Due to the pandemic, you are required to call and make an appointment, they will not let you in the building without one. Mask are required & sanitizer is spread out throughout the store. Now as far as service goes, the gentleman on the phone who made my appointment was not too friendly and seemed to be in a rush. Maybe they were busy, I get it. Day of my appointment, the one woman who was helping customers had me sit at the same desk as the people who just left (literally), so no sanitation of seating here. I wasn't able to get my glasses because my perception was on my phone. (They do not accept virtual perceptions) But you are allowed to get your prescription faxed to the store. I'm also getting lenses because I have frames I want to use. I think those two things turned the woman helping me off because once I said those things she got up gave me the card to get my prescription faxed & just started walking to the door (mind you I'm still sitting down at the desk) I had more questions to ask. So I got up asked her while she basically escorted me out the store. Then stopped at the door and started telling me more information. Ma'am! Why didn't we just go over all that when we were sitting down. Didn't ask if I had anymore questions or if there was something else she can help me with. I didn't feel like my services were wanted there. It's weird cause I received lenses for my frames here before (frames I did not buy with them again) and the experience was a lot different. I'm now re-thinking my decision and I might go some where else. They get a 3 star for the CDC regulations, but their customer service really needs some work.

Called Salem Optical to price replacement lenses and they found some and replaced lenses for $25!!! If you ever need to replace frames and on a budget, I highly recommend Salem Optical! They were clearly running behind but refused to acknowledge it or communicate that honestly. The eye doctor had a major attitude and was rude from the start. When I asked questions, she was uninformative and dismissive, and it was obvious there was little to no customer service training. Another major issue was the insurance information. Their website states they accept my insurance, but once I arrived I was told they do not. One person said they might only accept it for the eye exam, while glasses would most likely be out of pocket. The information was inconsistent and misleading. Between the long wait, the doctor's major attitude and rude behavior, and the misinformation about insurance on their website, this was a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend sending anyone here.

I explained to Mark exactly what we wanted and he did exactly as we asked. I was impressed that he didn't try to "up sell" us at all. He listened and it was greatly appreciated. The exam process was very simple- done via telemedicine. The only downside was that the doctor had a very strong accent and it was difficult to hear him sometimes. Overall- very good experience and I would recommend them to anyone looking for glasses.

Dr Freeman is very personable and upfront. He explains everything in easy to understand language and ensures you understand what you need. Final note, I don't have vision insurance so I worry about cost but eye care center is reasonable for the services and professionalism they provide. Everyone should take care of their eyes and this is a great place to do that.

I can barely see through my glasses. When I called them, they said the glasses are no longer under warranty so I'd have to purchase new glasses. It's very frustrating to me because it's expensive to replace glasses so frequently and the frames are perfectly good on both pair of glasses, it's just the lenses that are bad. I don't know if the manufacturer who did not do a good job on the coating the lenses, or if I used the wrong kind of cleaner, but you would think that if there's an issue with different cleaners, the staff would warn you when you're purchasing glasses to be sure and use only their cleaner or check labels of other cleaners. Unfortunately I had to go to a different store and that was the first thing they asked when I showed them my glasses. So now I'm driving to a different town for my eye appointments and glasses, but these folks will guarantee the lenses for two years. I wish eyecare center had done the same. If they had, I would still be a customer.
