I'm honesty very disappointed with Oman Eyecare. When I first started going there many years ago,…read morethey were extremely friendly and I never had any billing issues. However, on 2 of the last 3 visits, I've had charge disputes which came as unnecessary surprises. When I established this latest appointment, I made it perfectly clear that I expected this visit to be covered by my insurance at no charge (since I had a previous problem with them in this regard, I wanted to make sure there was no misunderstanding). The person on the line confirmed they had my current insurance information on file, and that there would be no charge. They also acknowledged that their records indicated I visited Duke University Eye Center every year for a diagnostic eye exam, so the visit to Oman would be related to my optical Rx. Again, given a past billing issue with them, when I arrived for my appointment, I made it a point of mentioning to the desk person that my visit was to be at no charge. I confirmed the same information about going to Duke Eye Center every year. No questions or issues were raised about anything I said. Honestly, if they had mentioned there would be a charge for just having a portion of the exam performed (I didn't need Oman to replicate what I had done by Duke Eye Center a couple months prior), I would have had the entire exam done or chose to leave. The person who initially examined me had the personality of a dead fish. Totally unfriendly, disengaged, and seemed as if she would have liked to be anyplace else. Subsequently, I saw the optometrist, he went through the vision procedure, and I proceeded to the front desk to check out. All I expected was to be handed my prescription. I indicated I'd be back to visit their optical shop later, since I wanted my wife with me to choose a frame. At that point, the desk person indicated that my charge is $54. I told them that this visit was to be at no charge, as is noted on my insurance card for in-network providers like Oman. I also stated that this had been previously confirmed by them. I then got fed some nonsense about not having the "complete exam," so I had to pay for the refractory (determining the vision Rx) portion. Now, mind you, the "complete exam" INCLUDES the refractory portion. If I had been told this upfront, I would have gone through the complete exam, even though it was entirely unnecessary, or just left. Obviously, there was no question from the onset as to why I scheduled an appointment with them or that my expectation was that their service would be without charge to me. Long story short is that I didn't pay them, they stated they'd submit a claim to Humana's EyeMed Vision anyway, and I walked out of there without my Rx. In essence, the visit was an entire waste of my time. It's now been 2-1/2 weeks, and I've heard nothing from them whatsoever. So, I guess I just don't get my Rx prescription or even know what they've done with the claim. Overall, it was an entirely negative experience. I place the blame on them for poor communication, having individuals on their staff who apparently don't care about friendly interactions with their patients, and for seemingly trying to bill for services where a patient had clearly communicated their expectations otherwise.

The ladies at the front desk had me checked in within record time. Because I had already completed my paperwork, things went smoothly. I was then ushered to a large, lovely seating area, where many other patients were waiting. The office is massive, containing several doctors, as well as a vision center to pick out eyewear and procedure rooms. My technician and doctor were absolutely wonderful. Initially, the tech took a thorough history and did some tests. She was very pleasant, moved with intention, but not rushed. She was communicative, but not chatty (IYKYK), and had me very impressed. I was well-handled and wondered what was left for anyone else to do. Lol When the doctor arrived, he was even more thorough than the technician. He double-checked her work, then began a discussion with me about my eyes and their health. He did some more evaluation and put me at ease. I remember thinking, "This place is amazing!" At the end, he gave me advice and then said, "That's it," with the most amazingly warm smile I had seen in a while. It was genuine and read like he really enjoyed his job. I mean, WOW. That did it for me, folks. I had already been impressed by the place, but the smile sold me on GO. I am a patient for life! Greensboro Ophthalmology is officially Kiesha Speech approved. If you have some eye care needs, go check them out. Let me know how your experience is.

I was considering not writing this review even after all the…read morewaste of money and time but Vision Source-Eye Center of the Triad had the nerve to send me a bill for $4.13 a couple of days ago. I cannot let this pass! I am so extremely disappointed with this eye care practice. Total incompetence. Let me begin with: I have had myopia since I was 12 years old. With Dr. Martinek, I walked into the office having myopia in both eyes, but walked out with a "perfectly healthy" left eye (20/20 vision). But 5 months after that visit, when I could not see at all, I walked in with her "20/20 vision" in my left eye and left with myopia again. Go figure! Meanwhile, she had me on "dry eye" treatment however charging both my eye and medical insurance for unprofessional and incompetent care. I still had to have a THIRD eye exam this year because I could not see after Dr Martinek's second exam. I know mistakes/typos/calibration errors can happen, and I appreciate honesty. The people in this practice, starting with Dr. Martinek, are unable to take responsibility for mistakes but quickly blame the patient. Josef, the optician/administrator, is condescending and disrespectful. It is truly embarrassing. I prefer driving 90 minutes to see my eye doctor in Wake Forest and have positive, respectful, quality care.

I can't recommend VisionWorks enough! I make this Yelp…read moreaccount to just to give this review to VisionWorks. Both my husband and his stepfather had amazing experience of buying glasses in here (each ended up buying 2!). We live near Raleigh area, and when we visit relatives in Triad area, I ended up buying two pairs of glasses due to the overwhelming recommendation despite the distance (Raleigh-Greensboro). A week after I received the glasses, I feel dizzy and everything looks 20% shorter. Apparently, the optometrist I went to before prescribed an unnecessarily stronger lens prescription. So the current optometrist provides a doctor's order to remake the lens, though he didn't sure the eyewear shop will honor it because the previous description is already pretty old. Due to the long distance, we were just able to come back 3 months later after purchase on last Sunday. Apparently, we were 5 days past the return window time. The lady who spoke with us says that she will try to speak with her manager and have him call us on Monday. We got a call and he said that they would remake the glasses with no additional fees! Also, due to the distance, they are willing to post the glasses to us at no additional fees too! Thank you VisionWorks! You just got one happy and loyal customer. We will come by again the next time we need any new glasses. *Note: the lady who adjusted our glasses understood our words and was very precise in adjusting our glasses (angles, distance, etc), which is not something easily done. This is coming from engineer working with a fine measurement all the time.
