5stars for Dr Jicha and the thoroughness of his exam. Lower rating is due to the "vertical integration" with the frames store. High prices on frames and not many choices. The way the clinic is integrated with the glasses store it seems almost forcing the patient to purchase frames/lenses from here. The two businesses should be separate. read more

High marks for Dr. Jicha - very detailed exam and then suggested that while I could use/wear glasses, my eyesight likely was not yet poor enough and I'd be frustrated by different environments and challenges they'd provide - the opposite of high pressure techniques. A refreshing change in an often difficult industry. Low marks for staff and communication. About 6-8 months ago, called about possible abrasion. Answering service said they'd pass along message. Call back was several days later. More recently, I had a suspected eye injury. Called and got message that they had a high volume of calls, try website or leave message. I shared message of possible injury-needed to be seen or referred. THIRTY HOURS LATER, I got a call back that they were still very busy and could give me some numbers for their other practices so I could call and see if they might be able to work me in. By that time, I had been to a Primary care doctor and referred to an opthamologist who had started necessary treatments and prescribed meds to address the pain. So, if you only need an exam and some glasses, this might be the place. If you happen to consider them your eye doctors and have an emergency, might want to have a backup plan. read more

I took two of my kids in for a check up, two boys, 14 and 15. I didn't think they needed my help during the exam so I stayed in the waiting area. They had not complained of anything. So they both came out of the exam with Dr Lindsay and he walked right past me, looked at me and walked right into the optics section. I was the only one sitting in the waiting room. You could ODVIOUSLY tell I was their mom. He said nothing to me. I walked in there and said to the optics girl. Is he not going to say anything to me? She said I will tell you what he wrote. What? Why didn't HE tell me. She wasn't in the exam, she doesn't know what was said. Dr Lindsay is usually a good Dr and thorough in his exams. But that was rude and uncalled for behavior. Why wouldn't he seek out me, the parent, and at least update me. He could have had the decency to speak to me. Don't thing I'll be going back if I can find a better recommendation. read more

In July 2017, I purchased two pairs of prescription sunglasses from this location using my HSA card. I keep all receipts for verification, if later requested by my HSA. I was only given a credit card receipt and a year later, I was required to show proof of purchase. My credit card receipt was not enough, so I requested and received an itemized receipt, via email, that revealed I had purchased warranties for both pairs of glasses at $22 each. I NEVER BUY WARRANTIES, never remember talking about a warranty and cannot use my HSA card to pay for warranties because it's not a medical expense. I explained my concern to the store manager who could not refund my money, but did send a gift card. I next spoke to the owner of another optics store in town who laughed and explained that all quality glasses have a (1) year warranty and that I had purchased a warranty that overlaps the manufacturer's warranty. I was also explained that if (10) warranties are sold per day, at each location, for $22 each and there are several hundred locations, MyEyeDr Corporation makes about $88,000 per day = $23,000,000 per year and this money is never spent on a warranty that the manufacturer already covers. And, there are quarterly bonuses based on warranties sold. Always ask for an itemized receipt and address any unmentioned warranties that are included. read more

Experience with Dr. Jicha - second to none, a very caring professional. Experience with eyeglass store - Boooo! I've purchased my last pair of glasses there. Don't get me wrong, the staff are very professional and respectful. But their prices are way high and they have a poor selection. They need some way of showing customers frames they don't have available, and to order them in for you to try on. The other thing is it has always taken about 2 weeks to have your glasses ready. My wife goes to Visionworks and gets hers in 4 days. My sunglasses were broken recently. Luckily the warranty was still good, but I still had to pay $87. I ordered them on June 12. The expected day they will be ready in July 2!!!! read more

After my eye doctor left the man who owns the building with the missing hand. I just figured service wouldnt be the same. And i was right. My prescription is way off the new guy said i have a stigmatism in my left eye and i thought that was weird because i was perfectly fine in that eye last year, and i know all about stigmatism because i am in my right eye. The lady who measured my eyes apart from each other gave me the wrong number. On purpose and i am very displeased with the service of this place. Beware if you get your eyes checked here because you will be kicking out more then what insurance will cover. read more

I wanted to continue with the same quality eye care I had received from Dr Lindsay when he was in private practice, so my Mom and I followed him to this location. HUGE MISTAKE! Mom was disappointed with level of care and couldn't even begin to afford the frame selection here. My visit was a total nightmare. Front desk staff was cold and snobby, but the 5 mins I had to deal with that was okay compared to the rest of the visit. I contracted severe conjunctivitis and had to be seen at 2 different doctors by 3 pm that afternoon. (Office manager suggested that I already had the conjunctivitis, but wouldn't Doctor have seen it, if not, what does that say about professionalism of doctor?? Per Dr at urgent care, unclean eye exam machines are number one cause of conjunctivitis.). Person in charge of ordering eyewear was unable to get thru the computer program, even after multiple tries and no urge to seek help from another person, and promised me a call by end of day, but I was told that contact order would proceed as she was aware it was a rush order, which never happened. When no call back was received by Monday, I had to call the office back of my own volition to provide payment for contacts, (double amount I used to pay), and now, a week later, I am in a holding pattern STILL waiting for them. Office manager wants to blame everyone but her own staff and place of business, with a condescending and sanctimonious attitude, and can't understand why said attitude might be met with irritation and resistance, when the facts are the facts. She is certainly NOT the one to be handling unhappy customers, as her inability to own up to the truth is maddening. Bottom line: Years ago, when Dr Lindsay wanted people to continue to visit his small office downtown he talked extensively about the lack of caring, compassion and quality care one finds in the huge chain eyewear offices, I will now heed his advice and avoid them like the plague they infect people with. read more

I had concerns when Dr. Jicha's practice went from being a private practice to being part of a franchise. However the care has remained excellent. The staff of in the eye wear portion of the business do an excellent job and provide personalized and individual attention and service. I wish they were open a bit later in the evenings and possibly a half day on Saturdays. read more

Dr. Jicha is outstanding !! Very professional , personable and thorough in his exams. The front desk staff was rather aloof and quite snarky when asked to look up my insurance information (did not have my card, but knew info was in their system ). Unfortunate that the whole experience wasn't stellar. The retail side was VERY helpful, not pushy with sales -- warm, knowledgeable & super friendly! !! Perhaps the front desk was having computer issues but their customer service skills were definitely lacking. read more
