I have been going to Dr. Lin at the Walmart Vision Center for a few years now. I really like him because he spends the time explaining everything so that you understand. I also like that you can make appts on a Saturday. That really helps for someone like me, who works 10-12 days during the week. There are actually two Dr Lins. It's a father and daughter duo and I really like that. The only con I would like to mention has to do with the Walmart brand, Eureka. Eureka is a Walmart brand of contact lenses. They are very budget friendly. However, most days they do not last the whole day. Most days, I do have to change out my contact lenses a minimum of twice a day, some days I may even need to change them out three times in one day. They just tear very easily. I definitely would not go with this brand. I do, however, recommend Dr Lin and Dr Lin! read more

I had to write a review. My wife walked into the Walmart Vision Center at Ke'eaumoku on a Saturday and submitted a prescription and her vision insurance ID, and they asked if her insurance company has a 24/7 eligibility verification center because they cannot electronically verify her insurance through the insurance company's CHECK ELIGIBILITY section on their website. They have to do a manual verification! Otherwise, she would need to pay full price and submit a receipt for reimbursement. Wait a minute...she's the paying customer. Why have her do the work?! The workaround is they can take the order, but she needs to wait until Monday to pick up her glasses. LOL That is insanely stupid. Walmart operations needs to get with the current times. read more

I had a great experience here. Surprisingly good considering it's Walmart lol. My shopping experience was great. They had lots of variety of frames at all price points and brands, some were only $19 (before the lenses- lenses are where you drop cash lol). My optician was a nice guy. Very knowledgeable and friendly. He asked me some questions to help recommend additional options for lenses. I choose the cheap frames and cheap lenses but I sprung for blue light protection and insurance. For $30 extra they'll replace my frames for up to 1 year. I think the blue light protection was also $30. Grand total was $180 (I told you, the lenses will get you!). My eye Dr's office starting price was $250 so Walmart definitely has cheaper prices. I googled it and Costco and Walmart have the best prices. Not sure if they're top of the line "fashion" but for optional lenses I don't need 24/7, I don't want to pay a lot. The pick up process was just as effortless and friendly. They fit and adjust the glasses for your face and offer complimentary adjustments and cleanings. I also got a free lens cleaning kit. She became awfully stressed and over strict with me in what should have been normal chit chat to anybody. I almost was murdered by her.. Even though I had Lasik done in 2000, I found out 14 years later that I needed to wear glasses for driving and maybe the movies. So why not check out the price at Walmart Vision & glasses. Surprisingly they have frames available for only $9 and lenses for only $14.50 each bringing the total to $38. It only gets better from there. The second pair is 20% off, bringing the total for two pairs of glasses to less than $72! Both pairs were ready for pickup in less than a week but I found out the hard way that the optician must be on-site site to pick up glasses. If you are in a rush, be sure to call ahead to make sure that she is there otherwise it could be up to a 30 minute wait while she is on her lunch break. For some reason my eyes get a little blurry from time to time. Some say age, and some say it's because I'm always looking at some kind of monitor. Whatever the case, I was debating on seeing a eye doctor. My better half told me about Dr. Lin and made a eye appointment for me. Very convenient location in town inside of Walmart. They have a private lot which is free to park. If you can't find ground level parking they have three levels and on the third level there is Sam's Club too. Dr. Lin is very thorough which we like. He doesn't skimp on giving your eyes a full examination when needed. He will make recommendations if he sees any problems which sometimes includes going to see your primary care physician or even going to the ER. Never had a problem with him or the staff there. read more

I usually purchase my prescription glasses from my optometrist's office but every once in awhile I need to fix and replace the nose pads because one of the nose pads comes off! It's because of my mishandling and carelessness of tossing it in my bag without putting it back where it belongs in my eye glass case! My most recent incident, two of my glasses needed to be repaired. The repair was quick so it allowed me to wait while he took about 5 minutes to replace. I have a habit of keeping the eye glasses on my head when not in use which could stretch out the arms and may also contribute to the broken nose pads. Keeping it on the eye glasses lanyard around my neck could easily get caught in desk drawers or crushed. So best to keep it in the case but if not, this would be a good place to come for simple fix. Once another place replaced one of the nose pads for free but it's best to change both at the same time since both would look clean! The doctor or the assistant was so kind to adjust the metal part which holds the nose pads since it was bent out of shaped. This optical place has wide range of frame selections to choose from and care supplies which you may need such as wipes, magnifying cards, cases, sprays and cloths. I would recommend this place for quick fix. You just need to pay for supply cost. I need my glasses for driving so I'm glad they opened late so I can go right after work and the wait is short! . My damage was just about $5 plus tax to replace 2 of my glasses' nose pads! I always receive great service and will definitely come back again! read more

I visited this store and was greeted by a staff person who asked if I'd had an appointment, I said no and told him I just wanted to see if they had a frame I liked. He put his hands on his hips and in a rather demeaning type tone, asked "Do you even have a prescription? " to wit I replied with a yes. We stared at each other for a moment, then he said, "well, I need to see it before I let you in." After getting past the rope, 'covid line'. He told me to sit down in a tone I'm accustomed to having served as a law enforce officer for 20 years. Let me cut to the chase of my feedback: 1) I was made to feel as though I was an impediment upon his existence. 2) I purposely only tried on glasses I felt an interest in and was told, "I have to clean everything you touch." (In a degrading tone.) 3) He ran my insurance and I told him that I'd previously visited a competitor who'd also ran my insurance and he lost all chill. I am a very optimistic, up-mood kind of guy but left there angry. I did find a frame that liked, however I chose to revisit a previous store that had a frame that fit yet weren't as good as what Walmart had. I'm more willing to wear those than help pay the wage of someone who doesn't like his job and spreads that mana with whoever he comes in contact with. read more

I got my eyes checked here for an updated glasses Rx as well as contact lens evaluation. I wanted to specifically wear those colored contact lenses that the KPOP idols are wearing from Korea, something they do not carry, but worked with me to make sure they weren't damaging my eyes. I chose to come to Walmart because the examination cost is one of the most affordable, considering I am paying 100% out of pocket. Dr. Daddy Lim and Dr. Daughter "Tina" Lim work here. Dr. Tina was my optometrist and SHE IS THE BEST OPTOMESTRIST EVERRRR!! She is so SO friendly and educational. I ask a lot of questions and she's very willing to answer. I'm very happy with her being my optometrist and couldn't have asked for a better one. I really enjoy our conversations and highly recommend her to everyone!! read more

Chris was very helpful and knowledgeable about what kind of information is needed for preparation of eyeglass with prescription. Eyeglass frames have designer names such as Baby Phat and Christie Brinkley. It is too bad that there was no Asian frames. The style is big frames like the 1970s. read more

Dr Tina is amazing! I've only seen one other eye doctor here since moving 2 years ago, have been wearing contacts for 14 yrs, and by far this has been my best / most productive experience. She's so informative, thorough, and will take her time with you. She also provides different options to best fit your needs and circumstances (financial, lifestyle, occupational). If you plan to get vision exam for contact lenses, I don't recommend Walmart. It's a waste of money. It's not because of the doctors; it's because Walmart lacks equipment for complete vision exam for contact lenses. I had my first vision exam for contacts at Kaiser, and I remember the doctor measured the surface of my eyes to perfectly fit the right contact lenses for me. My prescription expired from my first vision exam, and I'm not a insurer of Kaiser anymore, so I decided to go to Walmart. They didn't do eye surface measurement because they don't have the machine! According to Google, wrong fitting of contacts may lead problems to your eyes! However, if you plan to get vision exam for regular glasses, I'd highly recommend here plus they offer some affordable glasses. read more

I'm sorry for the mediocre rating, but I cannot rate it any higher. I have been a patient of Dr. Lin since his office was on King St. He is an excellent healthcare provider and gives excellent service. He answers all my questions in language I understand, not be so cryptic that I leave there scratching my head wondering what he just said. As for the staff in the front of the house, who I believe are Walmart employees, SOME of them are quite unprofessional and do not speak to customers and each other with mutual respect. They yell for each other from the sales floor and then proceed to scold her when she appears, all in front of half a dozen customers. Very very unprofessional! Walmart, you need to hire kind, respectful, courteous employees who WANT to be at their job, and who make customers feel welcome and important. (I read Joseph K's review and wasn't shocked, as I have had that issue before, too.) Geez, if I wanted to be ignored, I'd just go stand in front of my ex! If it weren't for Dr. Lim and his outstanding service, I would have looked for another doctor. read more

The staff is nice, it is easy to make an appointment but I got railroaded into glasses I don't think I need. I am losing my reading vision and was prescribed transition lenses that I have to wear all the time. The doctor made the argument that wearing them all the time will ease my eye strain and save my distance sight. Well how about the headache I am going to have from wearing glasses all the time? I do not tolerate glasses well and just wanted reading glasses. I feel like I was just up-sold to be forced to buy expensive progressive lenses so they can make more money. This review is long overdue. I've been seeing Dr. Lin for over 10 years now. It's been so long that now one of his daughters is working with him now as another eye doctor. He's such a proud dad that it's adorable. He's located in Wal Mart Keeamoku which I dont like to frequent because of the parking situation but I go there for him. I go to see him yearly because my vision sucks, and he always does a great job not only giving me a new prescription but in checking my eye health. He's very informative and thorough. Every other year he takes a "photo" of my eye to check the optic nerve, etc. He likes to teach his patients the reason why he does certain tests and what he looks for. I've also seen him through the years when I have eye problems. For example, recently I had to see him because my Left eye had pain and swelling. I called for an appointment and they were able to offer me an appointment the same day. I was concerned that it was contagious but he said it wasn't and I followed his instructions and the pain was better later that day. All in all he's a great eye doctor! His staff are helpful and friendly and on top of things. read more

This review will be just like me: short and sweet ; ) We have VSP insurance (Vision Service Plan), and had our eye exam done at Sam's Club at my husband's request. He had used them before and is a creature of habit. Anyway, after both of us got our eyes checked, we left with prescriptions in hand. The prices of their frames seemed a little high so we thought we'd shop around. Walmart was right downstairs, so we thought, 'why not?' They aren't an in-network provider with VSP but if you are looking for low-cost frames and lenses, this is a great option. There were frames that cost as little as $9! My frames cost $48! After my insurance was applied, my frames were free! My lenses were mostly covered too because I chose a single lens and my coverage took care of about 85% of it. And this is an OUT-OF-NETWORK vision center! The woman who assisted me (gosh, I forgot her name!!!) She was very knowledgeable and quick. She gave me different solutions and suggestions about how to cut costs and still get what I was looking for. She also assisted my husband and gave him great advice about his transitional lenses. (I think that's what they are called). Lol. My point? They were fast, accommodating, friendly, and knowledgeable (I always screw up the spelling), and affordable! It took 1 week before our glasses were ready for pick up. We love them. read more

This place is great! I came here when I had to get glasses for the first time and Dr. Lin was amazing. He was so thorough and patient in answering any questions I had. I give Dr Lin 5star! Excellent Lasik examination. I've seen him for 2yrs or so. However, I agree with other customer's comments about vision customer service receptionist. I got in on work open season insurance, therefore stop by to see what insurance accepted by Dr Lin and or Walmart frames and stuff. Then, always one, a Walmart employee at Vision counter demonstrated poor customer service, not attentive to my questions etc. Mind you, no other customer were wait, just me. I even apologized for bothering her, she didn't even flinch or acknowledge. Bottom line, Mr Walmart! Can you send some peeps to a Customer Service Training...pleased! They make Dr. Lin look bad. This is only a review of the customer service at this horrendous vision center. I have had no dealings with the optometrist here, just the lazy customer service clerks. I walked into this Wal-Mart vision center with a simple intent. To buy a case/cover for my spare reading glasses. The darn thing only cost about $3.00 and I figured I would be in and out of there in less than five minutes. Lo and behold, I walk in to find ABSOLUTELY no customers, so I'm like, "Yes, I'll be out in a few." But NOOOOOO. There were three workers there, two seemed to be doing something on their computer and one was putting something up on a shelf. I walked in, perused their section of cases, walked up to the register and WAITED. I looked around at each of the workers and NONE of them even bother to look up at me. I made a loud comment about how there was no one there to help at the register and still no one moved to help me. In fact, a fourth person came out from the back, (I'm guessing the eye specialist himself.) but he just looked at me and went back to a customer without asking if I needed any help. UNFREAKING BELEIVEABLE. Three workers, none of them willing to move off their lazy asses to help a customer who has been standing there for three minutes waiting for one of them to move so they don't grow roots into the ground. I understand if you're doing something and you want me to wait. But say something. They ignored me as if I wasn't even there. I will NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM this place again. Absolutely horrible, horrible, horrible customer service. I just left my case on counter and walked out, all the while stating loudly, how horrible the service was and how three workers couldn't do their job...and still no one moved. I should have grabbed a cartload of items and dumped it on their counter and left it there seeing as no one was paying attention any way. I don't know how the eye specialist is here, but if the workers are any reflection of him/her, then stay away. On the plus side, the optometrist upstairs in Sam's club is the best. I've always paid an arm and leg for my annual eye exam/lens fitting. After seeing optometrists from all over the state (yeah we moved a lot) including 3 others here on Oahu, I have to humbly say that Walmart has the best. Yes I am still a bit embarrassed to say I went to Walmart for my son's glasses but I will admit they have the most knowledgeable doctor ever! A bit hard to understand with his accent but so passionate about educating you on how your eyes affect you. I learned so much from my son's appointment that I ended up booking my annual exam with them instead of my doc from last year. Then at my appointment I was able to get educated even more. All I can say is wow, thanks doc! The rest of the staff were okay. They are a bit reserved but really sweet overall. They try to even find the best way possible to make your insurance/money work for your benefit. One of the girls even remembered my son by his name when I came back for my appointment a month or two later. read more

We have our own eye doctors, but this location is the only place our whole family purchases our glasses from. Chereyse is AWESOME!! She is the only person we will see when placing our orders in. (If Chereyse is not working when we go, we will come back when she is.) She is friendly, very knowledgeable, very customer-service oriented, and just extremely pleasant to work with. The prices, too, cannot be beat! The frames are nice and they have designer ones, too. They have down-right cheap frames, which our whole family buys as "back up" glasses. They have a great warranty, too; if your frames break within a year, they'll replace them! I've had to use that option once, and received no problem. We'll be back, for sure! read more
