I worked in the area for five days and stayed at this Marriott. the location is pretty perfect. Service is fantastic. The birria quesadilla in the restaurant is so good, I had it two times. The reason for 4/5 stars is because of the smoke detector that went off around midnight, and only in my room. An engineer came right up to pull it off the ceiling and make the noise stop. The front desk brought me two glasses of wine and that was appreciated. Again, service is great! I will stay here again when I'm in the area and hope to see you there! read more

My first stay at this hotel, there were a few hiccups. The app was showing a different room than my reservation, the parking charge was on my incidental card instead on the card on file which was clearly communicated during checkin but still ended up in error, and housekeeping was not consistent on the things they took out of the room and never replaced. All of those things were a headache and during the first time I stayed for a week, I had to ask housekeeping for stuff back to be replaced and my card at checkout was sorted. I had hopes for this location that I decided to come back as the service at the hotel, they tried to make it right. However, my second stay for another week took a downturn for the worst. Don't get me wrong, the hotel is busy as I've seen on both my stays, several business companies had their events at this location. While that's a good thing, it certainly leaves room for error on other things. I came back and during my second stay, the front desk was terrible. This is not an exaggeration. Ever had someone look up and down at you with a side eye? The moment I walked up to the desk and said hi, I'm here to checkin, the only response I got in a tone you'd never expect was "identification card" and proceeded to look up and down at me again. For context, I was fully clothed. Poloshirt with jacket, non fitted full pants with shoes and 2 bags. The entire interaction was just horrible. If it wasn't for work, I would've just cancelled my reservation right there and then. The interaction was that bad. Housekeeping is daily unless you have your dnd sign. Microwave is at a common room for the entire floor. I had the same experience the second time around. I reuse my towels and except for the towel you use for the floor outside the shower, everything else is hanged. When I had housekeeping, my towels are taken away without replacement. It was the same for the face towels too. The safe in the room was not working. I voiced out my concern to another front desk agent regarding my checkin process and got connected with Lisa, whom she introduced herself as director of operations. When I told her about my checkin, she was apologetic in some sense and explained that it was not in their policy for someone to act that way and even told me I will be given pts as compensation. At checkout, I asked the front desk agent to check the card charge and at least they got that right. If after checking/asking about this 3 times during my stay and an error still occurred, then I have no words for it anymore. When I asked about the compensated points, he said since it was that much was going to be given it would take 5 business days after the my checkout date. I waited more than 2 weeks and the only pts in my account was just my regular hotel stay pts. I will not be coming back to a location that has a rude front desk agent and conversations that don't push through. Save your money and go somewhere else. First time staying here and in this area. Read some research reviews where customers experience was very negative, but I did not experience anything like this. I arrived early and was able to check in. The person at the front desk was very accommodating. It is a full service Marriott so they have a bar and restaurant and also a concierge lounge. They do not have any self parking and only have a valet option and obviously valet is not cheap but neither is any parking in the San Francisco area. Valet personnel were very friendly and prompt and bringing the car every morning. The room was comfortable and spacious. I did not have any issues during my stay and would definitely stay here again. I did not venture out around the hotel, but it was near a highway, which was convenient, but I didn't see many restaurants within walking distance. read more

My family and I stayed at the Walnut Creek Marriott 1 night on a Saturday (9/27/25) because I had a free night certificate to use that was expiring and we did not have time to go too far. Check-in was simple and quick. The hotel did not seem busy other than there was a wedding party happening, but no major room upgrade was offered other than the standard Concierge Lounge access (Platinum Bonvoy members and higher). I did ask if there was any upgrades when checking in and either the guy checking me in did not understand me or did not hear me and was basically ignored. It was just for 1 night, it was not that big of a deal. Location: Not far from downtown Walnut Creek (~1 mile away), walkable, but for those that want to drive I recommend driving to Target and park in their parking structure (free). Across the street from the hotel are the Bugatti, Bentley and McLaren dealerships. There are a a few walkable restaurants nearby, but you can find better restaurants downtown. Hotel: A little dated, but gets the job done if you just want a decent place to spend the night. Overall, I find that this hotel is "no frills and no thrills!" Parking: No self parking available. It is Valet only at $34/night. Valet was very quick in retrieving my car. Concierge Lounge: Free access for Platinum (and higher) Bonvoy Members. Pretty basic lounge offerings. In the evening, it does not seem like anyone comes and cleans the lounge much. I went in after checking in to grab a drink and there was mess at the cereal station and came back after a few hours after going out for dinner and a workout in the fitness center and the mess was still there. Most Marriott M Lounges are kept up much better. Room: Standard 2 Queen Bedroom with standard amenities. Overall was clean, but the grout in the bathroom was pretty dirty and could use a good steam cleaning. We had a nice view of the roof and wall, which I find is not acceptable for Platinum and higher Bonvoy members. Fitness Center/Pool: The fitness center was a good size and had plenty of equipment. There is a water station and towels provided. The bathroom has a lockers and a shower if you choose to shower after your workout before heading back to your room which I find unnecessary. The pool is outdoors. I did not check if it was heated. I do not believe there was a hot tub. Overall, this Marriott is really just a hair above a Courtyard Marriott or Four Points Sheraton. If I was to stay in Walnut Creek again, I would probably try the Residence Inn instead of this Marriott. If you are Platinum or higher Bonvoy member, I hope you have better luck at getting a better room/view than we did. read more

I stayed here over the holidays and my stay was wonderful. I have to mention a few names for being kind, personable, and welcoming. My check in was with Pierre. Even when the room had a shower issue, he tried to get me in another room with a better shower, we walked through one but the shower head situation was the same (protruding non-secured shower head). Hopefully upgrades are coming because even maintenance couldn't fully secure it when they came to my room. Very weird but the outlet was also upside down, I run an electrical contracting business and this is not correct to do lol Concierge breakfast/lounge was really awesome! The staff there were so kind and truly catered to all the patrons. There was Anna, Nazia, and one other young man who was so precious! I'm so grateful to have had such genuine conversations with them. Nazia and my children truly bonded. It was really sweet. The one thing downside is the valet parking, which they force you to utilize and pay for. Although everyone in valet were respectful and kind, (Ad and David specifically) I didn't used the service, as I preferred to drive my own car and they still tried to charge me for parking. read more

This is unfortunately another hotel to strike off the list As a Marriott Ambassador member I will have to skip this brand while in Walnut Creek and move to Hilton as their Garden Inn is far better besides location. I don't ask for much - did not ask for an upgrade - all I needed was the room I booked - two Queens with a bath as I currently have a broken foot. First room had a shower, second was a disabled room with no counters in the bathroom, it overlooked a concrete wall and was loud, due to a generator and it being adjoining. The next morning we asked to be moved and were put in another room with a completely obscured view of the bar and a concrete beam! The hotel was packed with Duke players and their families and the bar was certainly not quiet so room 4 - yes great fun with a broken foot was better - albeit it with a view of an apartment wall! That's what staying 120 nights a year and near 30k annual spend gets you ! But it was quiet and was the room type we booked! That was all we asked for! Finally frustrated by the lack of action - we reached out to the Marriott Ambassador line - they were told by the hotel that they had showed us 12 rooms and none were acceptable which was not only absurd but with a broken foot, not even doable! They have however offered us points for the inconvenience! It was miserable for the first 24 hours BUT David at the Valet was lovely and very helpful! read more

We came here for a staycation and the ocktober fest. The check in was quick and easy. You can only really valet your car which is an extra cost. The room was big and clean. Aside from it smelling a bit like smoke. I absolutely loved the black out shades. I think this is great as you don't get woken up by bright light coming through. The lighting in the bathroom is not good at all and bathroom feels like a bit of an afterthought in the remodel they did. Bed was comfortable and not too much outside noise can be heard. The lobby is huge and our check out was very easy and quick. Overall for what we were looking for it was good and everyone we talked to was friendly. read more

Stayed here for a daytime sleep before an overnight video shoot. Comfy bed, clean, totally adequate. Only downside - really short staffed - no room service. Let me know that the staff had called out and I could buy a plate from the buffet. So I did that, but the buffet was also super sold out and short staffed. So I got a mini pastry and two sausages for I believe $38 bucks. Neither a pro or a con, but my room was like an interior cabin on a cruise ship with a window view of the lobby. All things considered the room was comfy and I got a few good hours of sleep before a long overnight. However, were I on a vacation, I'd probably feel much differently. read more

Our stay at the Marriott Walnut Creek was overall good. The staff were all nice and helpful. The front desk, valet, and cleaning staff were friendly. We were disappointed by the room. We chose this hotel because the room pictures looked spacious and showed a large window, and the hotel looked nice overall. We reserved a room with a king bed. We were given a small room behind the elevator with a small window that faced an indoor wall, and people could walk up to our window and see into the room, specifically right over the bed, so we had to keep it closed the whole visit. The room had an awkward layout with lots of angles that felt cramped. The floor pieces were coming apart, showing whatever was under the wood panels. The bed was comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was good. The location was convenient for walking to the BART. The hotel itself did not seem overly full, so we are not sure why we got this small corner room. It was dog friendly but not a lot of good outdoor areas to take your dog out. You need to walk around the building to look for some good flat grassy areas. read more

I went out of my way to stay at this Marriott after attending the Giants opener in San Francisco, specifically to get out of the city and into what I've always considered a great area like Walnut Creek. I also chose this property because I consistently prioritize Marriott hotels. After this experience, that will absolutely change. For context, I am a Platinum Elite member, which requires over 50 nights per year. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars with Marriott in just the past year alone. I'm not mentioning this for special treatment. 'm pointing it out because if this is how loyal, high-frequency customers are treated, I can only imagine how others are treated. We arrived around 9:30 PM after a long day. Before arrival, the hotel even called to confirm we were coming, and I told them we were about five minutes away. When we pulled in, there was no clear direction initially, so we proceeded toward the parking garage. That's when a valet worker stopped us and told us it was valet-only parking and that he needed us to pull slightly to the right to unload. He explicitly told us it was "safe" to do so. Trusting his instructions, while tired, in the dark, and in an unfamiliar place, I followed them. Unfortunately, that guidance was completely wrong. When I opened the trunk of my Tesla Model Y, it hit the overhead structure and caused significant damage. When I questioned the valet about why he directed me there if it wasn't safe, I got a blank stare. I immediately asked for a manager and spoke with the Manager on Duty, who told me the Director of Operations, Monalisa Tili, would be in the next morning. He also casually mentioned that a very similar incident had happened less than two weeks prior. That alone raises a serious question: why are guests still being directed to unload in a known hazardous area? The next morning, I left early but requested a call from Monalisa Tili. I never received one. Instead, I got a call later from the valet company manager, who explained they are a separate entity and would conduct their own "independent investigation." He even indicated he felt it would likely go in my favor. That raised immediate concerns. The same company responsible for the damage investigating itself is not a fair or credible process. It's like letting a player call their own fouls in a game. To address this, I contacted the hotel again and spoke with the General Manager, Louis Hazlet. I also confirmed that this property is owned/operated under Windsor Hospitality, a hotel ownership group. I explained my concerns about the lack of impartiality in the investigation. Louis Hazlet acknowledged my concerns, said he wanted to "do right," and told me he would personally investigate, review the situation, and follow up within a couple of days. That was over two weeks ago. I never received a callback. No follow-up. No accountability. At the end of the day, I was directed by hotel staff into a valet-only area, told it was safe to unload, and suffered damage as a direct result of that instruction. Despite the hotel apparently already being aware of the exact hazard. What's most disappointing isn't just the incident itself. It's the complete lack of ownership afterward. No urgency, no communication, and no effort to make things right. I travel frequently and have often considered deepening my relationship with the Marriott brand. After this experience, that conversation is over. If this is how loyal customers are treated, I have no confidence in continuing to spend my time or money here. This property is a poor representation of the Marriott brand. This review is not the end of this. Even though, at this point, the time I've spent plus the damages would likely still leave me at a loss, even with compensation. Our room was the normal two queens, what stand out though is the service. First is Samuel at the concierge lounge! He gets a big at a boy for being super punctual and prepared at 6am!!! We went to the front desk, and the agent told us he would leave a note for the housekeeping manager to investigate and that someone would call us the next day. Nobody reached out to us. We then called the hotel, and Cali assisted us in a very professional and asked the housekeeping manager to check their lost and found, but they couldn't find our items. The bartender (I believe her name was Ellen) was charming and easy to talk to. The hotel is well located just off the highway. Breakfast is solid. Premium price, mediocre service. The front desk service was devious, restaurant staff was slow and inattentive, valet staff was unresponsive. They didn't inform me about a $100 per night security deposit but said "trust us, it will disappear a few days after you check out." Then, when I checked out, they couldn't explain what would happen to the security deposit and what charges would be applied against it. The charges against my credit card were different than what I was quoted, but they couldn't explain the difference. read more

BEWARE, STAY AWAY! Imagine this: You book the Presidential Suite months in advance for your wedding. A month before the big day, the GM (Louis Haslett) calls to say, "Oops, we double-booked... we're giving the other party your room." His fix? A smaller junior suite. Not even close in size or value. When we were upset (rightfully so and crying), he told us to call back. For the past 2 weeks, my wedding planner and I have been calling, emailing, and leaving voicemails. Nothing. The front desk always says, "He's not at his desk" but offers to forward the call -- which means he's there, just avoiding us. Meanwhile, our guests are booked here (non-refundable), and our plans are wrecked. This is Marriott, not some no-name motel -- yet the service and professionalism have been shockingly bad. The front desk employee was incredibly rude upon check in, short, impatient, quick rude answers, seemed annoyed. Then my second interaction -calling the desk- he was so annoyed that I asked a simple question. As a customer service employee, that person needs to be retrained or not be customer facing -he is so rude. On the other hand,the valet parking employees were incredibly kind.. but they're contracted out, not employees of the Marriott. Kudos to them! First time staying here (2/6/26-2/9/26) and it did not disappoint, the customer service was excellent from the time i pulled up to valet, Marquis was fine young man giving instructions and helping with the luggage. Lisa the front desk manager provided extraordinary customer service, i extended my stay another night and James at front desk was awesome as well. Beds were comfy and room very clean. if you are an elite member the concierge foods/snacks/drinks great variety. Pancakes! the lady in the concierge room was very pleasant. I did not get a chance to use the gym and pool but that will be on my list next time. There seemed to be lots of Patriots and Seahawks fans staying for the Super Bowl, lots of them enjoying the lounge and full bar/restaurant downstairs, When we left, the 2 working in valet were exceptional as well helping load our luggage in both vehicles. I had my hands full is it was difficult - did not even offered to help. Same thing happened on my way out. Internet was out - to think I paid extra for their high speed internet. We booked a room here for one night as we didn't want to drive back home after a friendsgiving party. Valet parking is the only option they have for parking. I loved that we were near the elevator. The room was pretty big. The only thing I can point out is I feel like the bathroom was designed for shorter people (and I'm 5'3" so I'm not THAT short haha). The sink and toilet were both sooo low. I stayed here Jan 16-17 and had a nightmare experience. The valet lost the key to my Cybertruck. Instead of helping, the two valet staff were unapologetic and dismissive. I even witnessed the shorter male valet being incredibly rude to his female colleague in front of customers. He offered zero apologies to me and just started taking photos of my truck while telling me "no manager is here." I wasted 30 mins and only made my meetings because I could start my Tesla via the app. The front desk (Cali) promised a manager would call me that day--never happened. It costs $200 and 5 hours at a service center to fix their negligence. Completely unprofessional staff and zero accountability. Stay elsewhere if you value your property. read more

On Sun, Jan 18, I used the valet parking at the Walnut Creek Marriott to attend a memorial service for a dear friend being held at the hotel. They offered a special rate because of the memorial service and I paid the fee. When my car was returned to me, all of the preset stations on my satellite radio had been changed. I had driven away and was on the freeway by the time I discovered the "prank" or I would have returned and dealt with it right then. I realize that it may seem like harmless fun and in the grand scheme of things, it's not a huge deal, but I was not in the mood for that kind of juvenile BS. He offered different suites from different hotels but since it was so late and our wedding was getting close, we just asked him if he could comp the adjoined rooms that we booked at Residence Inn. The rooms actually ended up costing us more than the original suite we booked but he paid for all of it and made sure we were taken care of. The beds are so uncomfortable. My back has already started hurting at 3 am at night. I might as well lay on a wood board. I'm leaving soon instead of just laying here pissed off. The valet parking is forced and annoying. I'd like to know where my car is so I can get something in the middle of the night if needed. There is an awkward valet driver waiting there for you to pull in so they can make their money. I asked about self parking and was told I could put it on the street which doesn't sound safe at all. So it feels like one is forced to spend money on valet at a 3 star hotel. lol. I'd like to get my money back since I'm leaving in the middle of the night however I know they won't give it back to me. I don't get why anybody could think even for a moment these beds are comfortable. I'd rather leave and get a comfortable sleep the rest of the night than wake up in extreme pain. Super unhappy. Arrived to learn that our king room wasn't available- we were moved to a double bed room for our night away from the kids Seemed clean in the bedroom area - bathroom wasn't a as clean with crispy brown stuff next to the toilet. We heard sounds early in the am that woke us up a few times . Went to the bathroom to discover ants . They had gotten into our toiletry bags so wehad to empty to kill them all. Then found 2 ants on the bed then more on the space under the tv. I was done at this point! It was almost time to check out but they moved out room to another 2 bed. This is not a fancy hotel at all -cleaning crew was loud next door bumping the walls - cleaning i guess- I wouldn't eat the food here and shower wasn't clean. No fan to help with the steam / smells from bathroom. Shower curtain smelled interesting. Air conditioning worked well and woman who helped with moving room was pleasant. I did like the mood lightening on the floors upon arriving from the elevator. Told management about my stay - they just said thanks for sharing - we will update the staff basically. Parking is $30/night and there's no self parking, so you're forced to valet (where tips are expected). Hotel is old, dusty and lacks attentive staff. Food and snack options are abysmal. Snacks are insanely expensive. $10 for an cliff bar and Red Bull is robbery. read more
