While we love Wanda's and have been eating there for years, unfortunately the new ownership is not providing the much appreciated vegan breakfasts so much appreciated. While they do offer vegan "grilled" tofu, it is asian flavored with sesame & soy sauce and not a good option for breakfast. When I requested regular flavored tofu scramble (that was previously offered), they declined. Seriously? Not that difficult! They do offer veggie sausage, so kudos for that, but please, it is vegans ordering your tofu options, so please expand your breakfast menu to accommodate this population! read more

I love Wanda's! Before going you need to know that you will have to wait. That many people go there that there is never a time to just walk in that I have seen. The seating for waiting is outside. Some covered some not so dress accordingly. Their staff has always been top notch. Friendly and always asking if you need anything else. I like to go on Fridays because that's when they make their huge cinnamon rolls that are to die for. They go quick so don't think that after you eat breakfast there will be any left to purchase. I made that mistake once. Last time I bought it before breakfast to make sure I got one to take home. If you are able to sit in the back patio (which is covered) you will find this wonderful room filled with plants and antiques. It is also much quieter out there than inside. I love their coffee too it is never bitter even though its pretty dark. I do like mine black. I have been several times and always ordered something different and always liked what I picked. Such a cute cafe! My husband and I were on a road trip to Seattle & came across Wanda's as we were looking for breakfast. I had biscuits and gravy which was so good! It was also yummy to have something so warm on a cold morning. Also, being able to eat under one of many heaters, made our outdoor dining more enjoyable. The staff were also great. We fell in love with this spot while on vacation. The food is fantastic, the staff is friendly, they are fast with orders (even for a group of six), and it seems to be a local favorite. The waffles met the high expectations of our son and dishes like eggs benedict, the Beachcomber, biscuits and gravy, and the breakfast quesadilla hit the spot for the adults in the family. They have great coffee (Sleepy Monk) and appear to have a great bakery, too (the sample of cookie I tried was delicious!). There is outside seating but I am fairly sure it is not dog friendly. There is a great spot for cyclists to park their bikes if they are riding 101. Give it a try! read more

Beast breakfast in Nehalem, delicious scones and coffee, service can be iffy. We have been here countless times the food is always reliably good and delicious. Breakfast is yummy, everything is hot and fresh, coffee is oh-so-delicious and the scones are awesome. Check out the "scone of the month" which is a limited-time option and worth buying 2 or 3 of :) Outdoor seating in front can be noisy because of the road but outdoor seating in the back is wonderful, there are some heaters if it's cold and it's a really nice and cozy space back there. Food service is very good, zippy and friendly but they do tend to get the orders wrong... a lot, especially if things are busy. You order a 12 and 16 oz coffee and you end up with two 12 oz. You order bacon and it doesn't come with it. You order... well you get the idea. So over the last two years we've gotten used to just verifying everything right there at the cash register. Minor annoyance really, the food and the nice location more than makes up for it. read more

One of the best things about our Oregon Coast girls week! Food is absolutely fantastic! The staff is so friendly and just like family. We ate breakfast/lunch the Monday of our week as well as Thursday breakfast on our last full day. Didn't mean we didn't take cookies and pastries to go but we made daily trips in the AM to add to our stash. My personal favorite was the peanut butter chocolate chip scones but we tried all of them. Breakfast potatoes, biscuits, biscuits & gravy, salads, etc. We tried lots of stuff and all was top notch. The entire vibe of this little cafe and bakery is just amazing. Super cute patio out front and back that you can enjoy, and the food was amazing. As a vegetarian I rarely see good vegan/vegetarian breakfast options besides oatmeal...they make a tofu scramble here that is to die for. Add a side of salsa and *chefs kiss* It was so delicious!! Wandas is amazing! We were out of towners and were suggested to try this place, so glad we did! Wandas is like an American diner with a funky twist! They have eclectic decorations and staff. They are so friendly and happy to see you that it makes you feel right at home. Now onto their food, wow! We got a salmon omelette and a salmon eggs Benedict and it was amazing. Their food seems healthier for some reason, I'm not sure if it's the oil they use or what. The eggs are fluffy as can be, and the potatoes are flavorful but not over fried or greasy. Came in with my son after a hike. Easy location just south of Manzanita. Great outdoor spaces for Covid time (and post Covid). His hot Chocolate was good. My mocha was really good. The have a MASSIVE amount of pastry selections. Did not have full breakfast, but the menu looked good. This place blows away anything in the larger nearby cities like Cannon and Manzanita. Wonderful. My family and I decided to try Wanda's for breakfast on our way out of town. Before we ordered, we remarked about the charming, environment and incredibly friendly service staff. Little did we know our experience was about to get even better. Everyone ordered a different item, and throughout the time we spent dining, we were swapping plates so we could try each other's selections. Everything was delicious. I would personally recommend the Biscuits and Gravy or the Huevos Rancheros. Both were phenomenal. If you are hungry, or passing through town, come by Wanda's. We have made it a point to support Wanda's during COVID and visit as often as we can when we visit our rental and also recommend Wanda's to our rental guests in our Guest Book. Having been the CFO of a very successful family-owned restaurant chain that started with one, modest location, I have a different perspective which leads to this review. The basic premise of the restaurants I was CFO: if a customer has 9 great meals and experiences but a bad 10th experience, we've lost that customer. Lesson: always maintain the same high level service and food quality with the goal being to have each customer leave feeling happy. That didn't happen at Wanda's today. Having visited Offshore, Yolk and other favorites, it was time to go to Wanda's. Running late because of slow traffic and kids, we arrived at 1:55. Mindful it was 5 minutes to close, we decided to order just one sandwich for one of our kiddos. We were told the kitchen was closed. Huh? When asked if they would make just one sandwich, the answer was nope. By the time I was done talking and using my iPhone as a prop, it was 2:01. Ugh. The whole time, I kept thinking about how we would have handled it differently, especially in a market like the Oregon coast. If this happened at one our restaurants, we would have just made the sandwich (even if we were unhappy, we'd still do it and deliver with a smile) or given some minor concession to say sorry but please come back. I was already turned off by a passive aggressive response I saw from the owner to another review, and with this experience, while I feel bad about it because I like the Wanda's owner's 'story' of moving to the coast with his daughters, dealing with COVID, and the excellent remodel the new owner has done: this was our '10th' time. ***And after seeing his response below, publicly misstating that it was "2:02" and passive aggressively apologizing for 'inconveniencing' me (as if I'm being unreasonable) ignoring the fact we made it a point to drive the 20 minutes to support his restaurant when we could order a sandwich any where, and then trying to make me further seem unreasonable when telling me that his husband was taken to the hospital yesterday (as if everyone knows this): definitely done!! Would have been better to just something alone the lines: sorry, here's why we could't accommodate, contact me, hope to see you some time.*** ****Come on Frank. It's just one review. You want to look at me on video and squabble about minutes to prove you're right and fight for all businesses? Come on! Silly. Let it go. It is just my opinion. Nothing more than that. First, the two cookies and carrot cake cupcakes were great. 3 stars for food quality. The missing two stars are for the ridiculous behavior of the gentleman working behind the counter on 10/4. At this point, I'd say the majority of people understand the masking and social distancing. In this place they have dots on the floor and every person was doing as directed as far as I could tell. Twice in a five minute period, the gentleman came out from behind the counter to go direct people on where to stand. Really??!! So unneccessary. I gave my order to my husband and walked out. They have a restroom, so patrons were using this as well, coming and going...relax dude. You have a line of people trying to give you money and you were the only person in the entire place acting like something was wrong. Take a breath. read more

We absolutely adore Wanda's Cafe! We've been coming here whenever we're anywhere nearby on the Oregon Coast for almost as long as they've been in business! We make a point to stop by a minimum of once when we're only in town a few nights, but more like 2 or 3 times when we're in the area for a week! We even drive down from Cannon Beach just to have the fabulous breakfasts and pick up some baked goods! Everything on the menu is fresh & delicious, portions are great and the service even better! Frank & Patrick have done a great job of giving the place some updates! Love that they're open 7 days a week, a rarity in this tourist driven area. I'm sure your locals appreciate that! We've visit several times this past year and a half through the whole COVID thing and we were thrilled that you worked so hard to stay open and accommodate your clientele! We're at Manzanita for a week & just popped in for our first brunch visit today. Sidney was our waitress and she was just the cat's meow! Friendly, efficient with just a wonderful touch of sass! Super cute little cafe! We stopped for lunch, sat out back in the lovely heated courtyard. Food and drinks were delicious. Staff and service prompt and nice folks. Lots of baked goods and breads in the display case - all baked on site. Small gift shop selection of specialty foods and items also. We made a special point to wait for lunch rather than stop in cannon beach, because the food and service on our previous visit was so stellar. This review is based strictly on service not food. All three sandwiches we ordered to go, they were all good. We arrived about 15 min before closing, 1:45 on Friday, and not one, but two of the women at the counter were extremely rude, literally said "hurry up And order, we are closing" they close at 2:00, at least as listed here on yelp and on their door. I understand it's Friday and you want to go home, but part of your job as a good server requires a bare minimum of being polite. That didn't happen, just something for the business owner and severs to keep in mind, polite and considerate go a long way. read more
