Great service and unique surroundings. Never get tired of just looking around at all the decor , plants, ambiance is everywhere. The back outdoor sunroom is delightful. Food is fantastic! They have fantastic sausage gravy on their biscuits so just makes sense to have an additional protein item to the menu selections ( which is my husbands favorite by the way)! Friendly service, cozy ambiance (love an Ella Fitzgerald playlist) and delicious food! Showed up with our pup on a Saturday morning with no wait. They have a nice patio but don't have service outside, so you order inside and they'll bring everything out in to-go containers. Nonetheless, the food came out so quickly. The Beachcomber was excellent and so filling - delicious gravy, the freshest fruit and a biscuit on the side (though I wasn't nuts about the biscuit). We also brought a cinnamon roll home and enjoyed that evening. Best cinnamon roll I've ever had. Can't believe it was only $8 for the size (it's huge). Wanda's was is cute place. The ambience was great, we sat towards the rear where the plants and cool walls are, wry eclectic. The food was delicious, I had the smoked salmon omelette with the potatoes. The potatoes were soft and well flavored. The omelette was delicious with the dill spread on top. I also tried the biscuits and gravy and they were also delicious, the gravy was chunky and flavorful. I tried the Greek omelette and it was ok, but I'm not really a fan of Greek omelettes to be fair. This place it is a "MUST" stop and enjoy! It was recommended to me by a local and boy was he right! The staff is very welcoming and pleasant. The restaurant has plenty of natural light and the bakery selection is vast so you won't be disappointed. I was driving to Seattle so this restaurant was on the way. I had a potato skillet with to eggs and the flavor just exploded with every bite. The waitress suggested that I tried the dipping sandwich and it was very well balanced. Between the roast beef, the onions and the au jus sauce it was the perfect flavor. The coffee it is strong so it will put some hair on your chest. Greeted right at opening by a friendly and conscientious crew, and we were served the first meal of the day out of the kitchen, so I was confused that my potatoes were cold. I flagged down the busboy. Maybe he was new, because there was a bit of a comedy of errors about my meal. Me: excuse me, my meal is cold He: oh, I don't know, ma'am Me: no. My food. It's cold. He: oh! Would you like me to put it under the heat lamp? Me: ummmm, I don't think the eggs (up) will survive that He: ok. How long would you like me to microwave it for? Been coming to Wanda's for years. Was concerned when it's sold to the new owners, but they did not disappoint. As always, I had the eggs Benedict, but I asked for the polenta toast. It was absolutely amazing. Everybody else had the salmon with dill sauce, omelette, which they have ordered every time we come here for the last 10 years. So obviously that means it's very enjoyable. Saturday morning we joined others outside waiting for a table (approx 15mins) Service is very swift and coffee is hot and not weak. Fun decor with photos maps and trinkets to look at on the walls and ceiling but in a cohesive way. Black and white buffalo check curtains keep the home style cozy vibe going. It says everything about the culture of Wanda's. They may have good food - but there are restaurants in the area that have great food AND kind owners. Those are the establishments we choose to spend our dollars at. Calling your female customers who leave bad reviews, "Karens," screams misogyny and anger issues towards women. I'm not entitled and I wasn't rude to your staff. I'm not that person. When they couldn't add our name, I thanked her and told her we'd try again when it wasn't so busy, even after her rude demeanor towards my husband and me. My problem wasn't being turned away, as I stated in my original review, it was the rudeness we received from your staff. But as you've demonstrated repeatedly, it's the Wanda's way. We've wanted to stop at Wanda's every time we drive by. We love a good brunch and it always seems packed. The timing has always been off, except the last time we were here. Granted, it was 45 min before close. They were busy and we were told they weren't seating anyone else. It happens, though at 45 min before close that seems weird. But the hostess was rude and there's no excuse for that. When we got back in the car we looked at the reviews, specifically the owner's responses to one star reviews. Businesses get 1 star reviews - sometimes for reasons beyond their control, but most of the time for things that can be improved. All bad reviews are a learning opportunity. And when a customer has a bad experience, it goes a long way when a manager or the owner hears, acknowledges and apologizes to them. We didn't see a single owner response that was kind. Instead they were defensive, rude and accusatory. We don't give our dollars to those types of individuals, no matter how good the food is. I have heard some wonderful things about Wanda's and finally had an opportunity to get firsthand experience. We arrived on a Wednesday morning about 11:00 and was informed of an hour wait. Wanda's has limited seating and limited kitchen capacity, so they control the order volume to keep quality and satisfaction levels up. 50 minutes later, we were seated in a cozy comfortable dining room that was nicely decorated country travel theme. The clean and sanitary lone restroom was decorated with white subway walls and penny tile floors. My two fried eggs cooked over medium with pepper bacon breakfast, sided with country fried potatoes were perfectly prepared and delicious. Due to my dairy allergy, I didn't have toast but the biscuit slathered with butter and Marionberry jam that my wife enjoyed looked like heaven. Will plan to return again soon as it was worth the drive 20 miles south of Seaside in Nahalem. read more

Wanda's Cafe + Bakery was such a nice stop during my time in the area. I ordered a 12 oz vanilla latte from their coffee bar and it was delicious + reasonably priced! I forgot to ask, but they have Sleepy Monk coffee beans for sale so I am assuming that's what they use in their coffee bar as well. That was neat for me because that was my original coffee stop plan to try, but their shop was closed on the day I was in the area so essentially I may of gotten what I wanted all along haha. Overall: their coffee was amazing. They also have the option to dine in for breakfast/lunch, but I just wanted caffeine the day I went. We were really impressed with Wanda's. While staying in Rockaway with limited breakfast options, Wanda's seemed like our best bet. The service was wonderful, with only a ten-minute wait. However, parking was limited. Our server was attentive and available when needed but gave us space to enjoy our meal peacefully. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, featuring a cool outdoor/indoor dining area in addition to the regular dining area. The food was delicious, tasting homemade and fresh. We ordered the Juevos rancheros, a two-egg breakfast, and the eggs Benedict, and everything we ate was top-notch. It was pretty warm on the patio and the kitchen had to close early because it was way too hot in there--I think due to an AC malfunction, but not sure. The chairs don't have arms and are sturdy. I hadn't been here in a couple years and it was the highlight of my day at the coast. They have a small parking lot and an outdoor seating area, which was really cute. They also had a lot of fun things in the front of the cafe that operated more like a gift shop with local goods. Their coffee was great and more artisan that a lot of cafes in the area + they had a lot of pastry options, but their giant cinnamon roll was definitely the most recommended and delicious! Great food, quiet place, a bit off the track but easy to get to. I always try to eat here if I am anywhere in the neighborhood. My only issue this past time was that I got there late in the day and a few of my favorites were already sold out, and they started putting away the pastries before I could purchase some for the road. And also since no reservations it is often too long a wait. Food & service was great! The problem is the new management. I've never seen a manager shove up a palm when walking up to the hostess area to get a table. Well, he gave us 5 fingers to the face so that he could whisper about another customer loudly (maybe he isn't good with whispering, as well as customer service). Anyways the manager took our reservation & told us to sit & they would come get us. IF YOU ARE MAKING CUSTOMERS WAIT OVER 20 MINUTES, YOU SHOULD HAVE LET US KNOW. Also seated someone that came in after us. I dont like the narsasism/attitude of management & the hostess he was gossiping with. If it wasn't for them 4 stars! Thanks for showing your true colors!!!
