Such a cute cafe! An awesome staple for any Coast visit. Food and service were excellent, you could tell they love their customers. Everything we had was excellent. Biscuit and jam were home made; there were lots of breakfast choices and service was very attentive. You can see why this place is always busy: There's a small capacity so you will probably wait but they offer coffee and water and an espresso stand and pastries and a little shop with lots of cute merch. A must stop anytime you're looking for breakfast in the north coast area. read more

Full disclosure: I'm a regular here. But also: I don't have a huge monthly budget for eating out and choose to spend part of it on my "Weekly Wanda's" fix, so I think that should say something! The service is always amazing and the food is outstanding. Some of my favorite menu items are the Beachcomber (bring an appetite...super-filling!), the Florentine and their Fiesta Potatoes, but everything they serve is wonderful. A note on breakfast here: I've never eaten somewhere that had a 99% success rate with poached eggs, before becoming a regular here...kudos, kitchen! It's a super popular spot with a delightful (but also small) inside dining area and a fantastic (heated) back patio. (A little better parking maybe) but whether you're driving through, popping in from Manzanita or Rockaway, Wanda's is the place for you. Unless you're looking for pancakes. But if you want cinnamon rolls, homemade biscuits and gravy, baked goods, you've come to the right place. Oh and there's a bit of a line when you walk up? Not to worry, you can order a cocktail while you wait! Might I recommend a Bloody Mary while soaking up the coastal sunshine. This cafe has a very pleasant atmosphere. When we stayed at the hotel near the beach this was our place for breakfast. I usually don't like salads but this one was the best. Sarah the waitress was the nicest person ever. People working at the bakery were also very nice and attentive. I wish it was close to our home so we could go there often :) read more

Food & service was great! The problem is the new management. I've never seen a manager shove up a palm when walking up to the hostess area to get a table. Well, he gave us 5 fingers to the face so that he could whisper about another customer loudly (maybe he isn't good with whispering, as well as customer service). Anyways the manager took our reservation & told us to sit & they would come get us. IF YOU ARE MAKING CUSTOMERS WAIT OVER 20 MINUTES, YOU SHOULD HAVE LET US KNOW. My husband and I are on vacation at the Oregon Coast, staying in Lincoln City. On one of our outings we were heading to Cannon Beach (about 2 hours north of Lincoln City). For those of you that have never been to Cannon Beach, it can get very crowded and with the pandemic, dine-in seating is limited all over the Oregon coast area. So, with that being said, we decided to stop somewhere not as crowded for lunch and I'm so glad we did! Wanda's is a little gem in the small town of Nehalem. This place is so worth the stop, even if you are just coming to try one of their many baked goods. I had a half turkey sandwich made with cranberry and cream cheese and a cup of clam chowder. Everything was delicious. My husband and I also shared their marionberry hazelnut oatmeal bar...amazing! I have to add that one my favorite things about this place was the charm. I'm not sure if this place is new or there has been a remodel, but whatever it may be it all looked fresh and new. Anyway, with this pandemic they only offer outdoor seating. The front part of the property has a fenced in area to help drown out the 101 traffic that had about 5 or 6 tables. However, If you're fortunate enough to find a seat in the back (a hidden gem) i would have preferred to sit there. We peaked at it and it's very charming! And last but not least, what made this place so special was the music they played--big bad soft swing music. You know the classic-- Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald and so on! It brought me back to when my dad played this music all the time and it made me smile and miss him. Wanda's for sure will be one of our favorites to stop at when we are visiting the Oregon coast. read more

My husband and I went to Wanda's for breakfast this morning on the advice of a friend. We couldn't make up our mind on what we wanted to eat, so we decided to order the Huevos Rancheros, Eggs Benedict, French Toast with Cinnamon and Breakfast Sandwich so that we could sample a little bit of everything. We decided to do takeout because we were really hungry and weren't sure how long the wait would be. The woman who answered the phone was super sweet and helpful, and even gave me the option of upgrading to real maple syrup for my French toast (which I highly recommend). There was only a 15 minute wait for our food to be ready, which we were delighted at. Upon pickup, everything smelled positively delicious and we couldn't wait to get it home and dive right in. As for the food itself, it was good, but not blow you away outstanding. Just okay. The Huevos Rancheros were made with refried beans which I am not a big fan of and didn't realize when I ordered them, so I wasn't crazy about that, and the eggs were slightly over cooked. French toast was just average but the maple syrup was definitely legit. We both liked the roasted potatoes that came with the sandwich and the Eggs Benedict as they were cooked perfectly cooked and seasoned well. We had plenty of leftovers, but we didn't save any of them because we didn't think we would eat anymore of it. Long story short, if I came back to Manzanita, would I eat there again? Possibly, but probably not for takeout. But I might be willing to give it another shot if I was eating in. I just wouldn't get the Huevos Rancheros next time. read more

Stumbled into Wanda's after looking for vegan options for my girlfriend. Food came out quick, service was good, overall, food was good, not great, but good. They had a tofu scramble which was a bit over salted, and honestly not much of a scramble, it was pieces of tofu on top a over salted soggy pile of miscellaneous vegetables. The salmon omelette I had was good, perhaps a bit dry and in need of a bit of sauce, but I did the job. However I am giving strong criticisms, it's for the mere intention of suggestion. I've been going here off and on for years, after today I'll never be back. The service wasn't just indifferent it was rude. For a place that lists takeout they never seem to be offering it. They don't even answer the phone, which suggested calling again to place a takeout order, and yet when I stopped in minutes later, I found the staff just chatting around the register. When I asked about placing a takeout order, I was told to go talk to the hostess outside. When I got to the hostess, I witnessed her disdain for the customers ahead of me, when all they wanted was drip coffee while they waited. The moment I asked about takeout, she said no. We're not doing takeout. We're too busy. (There's only 1 party waiting to be seated, with 6 empty tables outside and several inside open, but ok) There was no apology, no suggestion of a better place to go to, or a time to return. I was a bother to them, that much was clear. Take your money elsewhere. They don't seem to need or want it here. Edit: Oh, and to the owner response.. you weren't there, how would you know what I'm upset about? Because it's a lot more than being told no to takeout. Treating your customers as complications to your day instead of as a vital part of what keeps you going is poor business management. If you treat the employees the same way you talk to me here, I guess I can understand why they're so unhappy every time I've been there, and its only getting worse. read more

We wanted to grab a quick breakfast treats while we were passing through on our coast road trip. We initially went in for a cinnamon roll on Thursday only to find out that they did not have them available on the weekdays other than Friday. Fortunately, my wife picked up two brownies. We had one peanut butter brownie and one mint brownie. I wasn't expecting too much from them however, they were two of the most amazing brownies I have ever had in my entire life! We decided to go back the next day to get one of the cinnamon rolls. I was blown away at the size of the cinnamon rolls and it definitely had a fantastic taste to go along with it's enormous size. You cannot go wrong here; something for everyone. Greeted immediately, seated with a smile with comfortable seating and heated outdoors. There were five in our group so good sampling of their menu. All five of us were happy with our breakfast. Great omelets, not over cooked, all ingredients were fresh such as spinach, peppers, broccoli, etc. Nothing over or under cooked. They have vegetarian and gluten free options. Great for families, couples, and large groups. I have noticed that its gotten pretty busy. The last time I was there they weren't doing take out orders and had a pretty long wait. We went to Wanda's today for breakfast. The inside is very small so on weekends you should expect a wait. Wait is made easier as they have a coffee bar set up outside. Ordered the Nehalem Omelet which included country ham, onions and cheddar cheese. I ordered a side of their home made salsa. Our waitress suggested sourdough toast. My meal was very good. The omelet with the salsa tasted very good. The potatoes and the sourdough toast were also very good. The jam appeared to be homemade. If you are a vegetarian my son ordered the veggie omelet which he also enjoyed. Seemed to be loaded with a variety of vegetables. The largest and most delicious cinnamon rolls on the planet. Do I need to say more? No matter where you are coming from, the drive to Wanda's has the most beautiful views. Mountains, ocean, and if you are lucky you will see the collection of roaming elk along your route. Wanda's is a cute space with a nice variety of pastries. We also got a pumpkin coffee cake and a peanut butter brownie that knocked our socks off. The best part was the coffee. Premium locally roasted Sleeping Monks. So good!
