Atmosphere is great and they have a food truck parked out front if you are hungry. The only reason I rated 4 stars instead of 5 was because they didn't have many beers I wanted to try. I tried the uncommon California common and really enjoyed it! I really like ipas and they only had one rye ipa on the list when we stopped by. Excellent, well crafted, full bodied ales. This is by far the best brewery in Bellingham with the most unique veriety of brews on the menu. Every beer I've had has been better then the next. Everything from their Coffee Porter to their Siason has been outstanding. After traveling through the west coast and clear through Germany, I can honestly say I have never been to a brewery with so many well crafted brews that I've enjoyed. I find that breweries tend to be good at one type of beer, but Wander is the exception: they are good at ALL types of beer. They do not have a kitchen, but they often have a food truck available for quick bites. All the food trucks they choose pair well with the ales they have, and are quick and tasty. The seating inside and outside is relaxed and enjoyable, with hand crafted wood tables. This makes Wander a great location for a chill afternoon, with friends, food, and good brews. read more

As far as breweries go this place is typical, though still a great experience. The tasting area is located in the front of the warehouse with a large garage door that stays open for people to enter and exit, and a nice little outside area when the weather is nice. Food is served from a food truck where you pay, get a number, and take to your seat, and someone working probably from the truck delivers it. We weren't hungry, but the food smelled great. I ordered the Shoe Toss IPA and was very happy with that selection. I thought it was the perfect embodiment of what an Indian Pale Ale should be. I would come again, though my friend said it was uncharacteristically busy; Probably due to it being first Friday and a beautiful day. Not all who Wander are lost. read more

I'm a lover of coffee beers that are not stouts and this was the best Coffee IPA I've ever had (my old favorite was from Bent Paddle). Wander has a cool vibe. It sits back amongst warehouse buildings so it really is a "wander" to get there. The inside is on the larger side and you get to see the brewing tanks. Food truck outside was good too! They have decent beer and very cool schwag. read more

I had no idea that Bellingham was a place for breweries, but to my surprise this place was very delicious. They have such a great range of brews available and they also have a taco truck outside if you are having a food craving. All in all, this is certainly a place to stop in Bellingham if you haven't been here already. There is ample seating available made out of what would appear to be some hand crafted wood tables as a good amount of seating. The restrooms are very clean and you can see all of the machinery as you are sitting down in the brewery area. They have draft rootbeer for those who are the DDs or just allergic to alcohol. Community seating means you'll be sharing elbow space with other happy Bellinghamsters as you down one of Wander's carefully crafted beers and some awesome grub from a cast of rotating food trucks. Can't go wrong with the Uncommon California Common or the Shoe Toss IPA. Global Mutt Baltic Porter and Correspondent Foreign Extra Stout will get you through the winter. This fits in the category of "wild west" breweries for me (eclectic location in an old warehouse, picnic table seating, kids and dogs wandering around and a food truck outside). Far and away my favorite brewery in Bellingham and possibly anywhere. They have a wonderful always changing rotation of specialty beers which are so creative and never disappoint. I love that these beers are not your typical hop heavy NW style beers, there is lots of Belgian influence and old world style beer making (but of course they do have a few hop heavy beers). The staff is always very friendly and fast and I love being able to sit outside in the nice weather. Sunday is my favorite day to go when the Danielle's Back East BBQ food truck is there, great BBQ, hush puppies, and tons of homemade sauces. read more

She gave great suggestions and loved that we sampled a few different kinds of beer. Chad & Colleen (owners) have put together a great following in a short time. The brewery is hidden away a little bit, but not too far off the beaten path. It has an industrial feel with the huge ceilings and cranes hanging down, but that adds to the atmosphere. Great rotation of food trucks (not that this is news in the 'ham). This is one of the best places in town to get a beer and hang out with friends. With the open-space or the outdoor space, you're totally cool to come covered in sweat and/or mud and still be served. Because of this, plus the fact that they make some mean brews, Wander really encompasses what it means to be PNW. We like to bring guests here for a tasting flight/to soak in the atmosphere. Had friends up from Portland (beer snobs) and mount vernon (beer drinkers) and decided we'd try out a couple breweries. Went to Kulshan, Aslan, Wander and finished the weekend at Elizabeth Station for some take home variety. The weekend started out atrociously and finished wonderfully at Wander. Now, I am not a beer drinker. I am a fan of sours which I rarely find and get them bottled, but most beers I can't stand the flavor, bitter or too hoppy, my pallet just isn't accustomed to their flavor profiles and I never drank beer in college to get my taste buds going. So....I came to wander expecting the usual, this is gonna be gross for me. There were 6 of us and we ordered 3 samplers to share amongst the group and everyone picked their favorite. I'm not one to throw any beer knowledge around, but I will say this....Wander is now home to my favorite and my first!!!! Their Monk Table Beer has changed my world with regard to beer. Sure it's only 3.5% alcohol, sure it's what some call a beginner beer. I can't give you all the nuances of it's flavor profile, and I consider myself pretty good at that with food in general being an avid above average cook and baker, but I will tell you, it's delicious, and it's changed me. I came back last week, a solid 3 weeks later and hesitantly ordered a glass, thinking, was being with my friends and a plethora of beer a factor in me liking that beer? Was I just saying I liked it in front of them and will be totally gross now? Hell no, still delicious. Thank you Wander for creating a delicious beer, and according to my friends and husband, many delicious beers and the best in Bellingham. Bellinghammer Wee Heavy, Common Uncommon, Pumpkin Ale, Millie Sours. . . I've never been disappointed. . . and that's sayin' somethin'. Most breweries take a while to work out the kinks - whether that's the decor, the waitstaff or the beer itself - not Wander. Pitch perfect from the beginning! I'm no beer aficionado, but I'm pretty sure these pints stack up for a cicerone! The atmosphere is typical of our breweries these days: warehouse/industrial/echoe-y with some outdoor seating near asphalt. Not awesome. Tall benches and tables that don't scream comfort. But, then, I'm older than the average crowd. Linger anyway. Weeknights are quiet and laid back and perfect for catching up. I love their friendly staff and low-key vibe!
