We got to the car and she realized they gave her a bagel not toasted with vegetable cream cheese so we had to go back inside and get the right order. The bagels were okay. They weren't fluffy. I went in this morning to get a large order of bagels as an argument erupted from an unhappy customer and the lovely girls working the counter. Even when the woman became nasty and threw personal attacks at the employees, both young women stayed calm and professional, handling the situation with grace and doing everything in their power to de escalate the situation as much as possible. Yikes. I am shocked this place passed an inspection from health department if it has. For starters the front windows and exterior are dirty, the front door glass is broken but instead of fixing it, advertisements for smoothies are taped on, as if customers won't notice. They recently must have changed hands and added a "Revitalize" smoothie açaí bowl gyro (insert any other food under rainbow), the looks of which looked anything but revitalizing. Upon ordering in front of register, tubs of dirty looking water under the sink are in full view, notably missing cabinetry which would have covered such a mess. It feels and looks like a queens bodega has arrived in wantagh. Not appetizing, not clean. Yuck. I'd hire a contractor, a cleaner for starters, but I'd never eat here. read more

They have recently sold the business and the new owners are slowly changing the original recipe to something that used to taste like a bagel. The taste is off. The size resembles a mini bagel. Stopped by around 2pm for a quick bagel on the go. It was a large, clean space with a few tables. Because of the late hour, there were not too many bagels left. We got the everything flat bagels and they were still fresh and tasty. One with butter and one with walnut cinnamon cream cheese. They were tasty. Got some iced coffee which was good too. I just started coming here for breakfast and lunch with my 3 boys. The food is always fresh and delicious. The staff is very friendly and the place is clean. Kids love the rainbow bagels and black and white cookies. Chicken salad and veggie cream cheese on egg everything bagel is my favorite. When I'm watching my calories I have them scoop out a whole wheat bagel and get lite veggie cream cheese. I tried the pistachio muffins and they are hands down the best. read more

The bagels are awesome. I love the freshness of the interior and that crunchy exterior you get with every bite. I love that the bagels are made in house and you can see the process of them being made from creation to customer. I love the shininess that glistens off the bagel as it is removed from the oven. I love this bagel store. I've been a Wantagh Bagels customer for years. I am a senior. It was very disturbing yesterday when I went for bagels at 6am, only 1 hour after opening and bought a dozen bagels from "Mary, the Store Manager" who had her mask around her neck and not on her face. When I called to complain about it this morning she argued with me that it is uncomfortable to wear it all day long on her face. If she is that uncomfortable 1 hour into the day then maybe she should not be working at this sensitive time of COVID 19. Stay home. It does not represent this business very well if the Manager, in particular is not staying safe at this very delicate time of sickness and death. read more

I don't know why I keep going to this bagel store when Seaford bagels and town bagels are right down the road. This BLT was so sloppily made and the lady who made it put way too much mayo on it.. YOU CAN TELL JUST BY LOOKING AT THE PICTURE I POSTED. That wouldn't have been that bad but whatever kind of mayo they use tasted old and had a weird taste to it. Even the bacon was cold and Grizzley and to top it off the bagel wasn't cut through all the way which bothers the shit out of me because it makes the sandwich fall apart before you get to eat it. Placed a catering order for 25 people. I ordered in person and was told that they would have to call me back with a price because the catering person was off. I received a call the following day indicating that I would receive platters of bagels, speciality cream cheese and a large platter with assorted muffins and other pastries along with beverages. The cost would be $14pp. I thought it was high but I assumed that I would receive a beautiful spread with a plentiful amount of food. However, I was mistaken. When the delivery arrived, I received 32 bagels with 1 regular cream cheese and 1 veggie cream cheese. The pastry platter was small with tiny muffins & pastries that could be eaten in 2 bits. All together, I could've went into any other bagel shop and purchased this food for under $100. However, I was charged $365! They haven't returned any of my calls to address my concerns. Noticed that this place recently had a re- opening (new ownership or management) so I wanted to try it out. Big mistake! Walked in and the place was empty as there was only me and another customer. Strange for a Friday morning @ 7:15 am but who likes waiting on line anyway? I ordered a bialy, toasted with butter. First of all- $2.50 for a bialy with butter? Im no cheapskate by any means but that's the highest price I've ever seen. While it was toasting, the young lady takes a spatula and scrapes the bottom of a large metal container to collect the remains of what was probably 2 week old butter. With the amount of business I saw there at peak time, it would probably take a month to use. She then gets her mighty spatula ready to use that nasty butter on my bialy. I had to ask her to forget even thinking about using that petri dish of bacteria. So then my bialy comes out of the toaster burnt to a crisp. Does she say anything? Maybe common sense would tell her to throw it out and toast a different one? Nah... She just slaps some non-congealed butter on there and wraps it up. By now I told them to just use it as a door stop. I understand why the place is empty. read more
