Great service , best pricing in town. They really care about their customers. They are open around the clock and got me in quickly ! Even did a test drive together after the work to make sure I was satisfied and it was safe to drive ! Y'all the best!

After leaving the shop, I pull into the driveway and my car started to overheat and smoke.

Kirk, the service manager, has been a big part of why I keep coming back -- he's down-to-earth, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to even when I don't fully understand the technical side of things. I really appreciate their communication process, including texted reports and photos of the work being done. So far, everything they've done has been straightforward and honest. When I've questioned their diagnostics or recommendations, Kirk has taken the time to explain things clearly and has even reached out to Jasper (the company that rebuilt my engine) just to help put my mind at ease. That level of follow-through means a lot, especially after a bad experience elsewhere. My one significant complaint is their shop fees. These charges aren't itemized as a "shop supply fee" or anything specific -- they just appear as a flat fee, and they're not disclosed anywhere in the initial quote. Most shops I've dealt with cap this type of fee around $50, but I was charged $90 on one occasion. Not listing this upfront feels misleading, and I think it's something customers should be made aware of before authorizing work. That said, trust in the actual mechanical work matters a lot to me, and this shop has earned that trust. I'll continue bringing my vehicle here, but I'd strongly encourage them to be more transparent about these fees upfront -- it would go a long way toward making an already good experience a great one.

Confident and relieved we'd found a "go to" mechanic in Phoenix, one month later the car began experiencing intermittent power steering outage issues. Our son (in college and alone far from home) immediately brought the car back in, but AMC essentially refused to pop the hood, or otherwise even look at the car "unless the driver could replicate the issue". Two weeks later power steering and AC completely failed on a busy highway (due to a leaking radiator hose that ultimately fried the alternator). Paid an additional $800.00 (plus towing) to a competitor to fix what AMC should've caught. Also, AMC hours are now M-Th and of course this emergency happened on a Friday. First time Yelp has led me astray. 9/9/2026 - Owner Gilberto immediately reached out on Yelp below apologizing and asking for submission of additional repairs documentation to handle the case "fairly". To be fair, I did not go into specifics of prior phone interactions with Gilberto - owner - after the car was first towed to AMC and the had to be retowed to another shop due to AMC's inability to handle after hours emergencies (eg., no closed parking, nor key drop or other available). While all calls with were professional and courteous, Gilberto was ultimately unhelpful and disappointing (leaving us with limited options). The fact that AMC refused to do anything after the car was brought in by our son (for scary warning signs similar to the original problems) just prior to a catastrophic (towable) failure on a busy roadway is what is unacceptable. Not saying AMC is a bad business, they just really blew it. For minor car maintenance (oil changes and tire repairs) AMC is probably great. For major car repairs go elsewhere in the valley, please.

After the installation, I took my car for a ride and there were many warning lights on the dashboard. Not sure if they damaged all the sensors on the car but all the sensors are now giving me warning lights and these warning lights will not go away. If you have newer cars, DO NOT let these guys fix your cars. One of the mechanics was hitting the back rotor with a huge hammer very hard to get it off and must have damaged all the sensors, I guess. Another possibility is that the other mechanic was using an electric saw to cut off the dust covers and might have cut a cable to cause all the warning lights to show up on the dashboard. I sent them an email about all the warning lights but no response from them. They were able to install the 4 rotors and 4 calipers just fine but the brakes don't feel very tight and feel loose when hitting the brakes. I have to push the brake pedal almost all the way down to the floor in order to stop the car. I recommend these guys if you have older cars with no latest technologies. Not so strange until that's exactly what needed to be fixed on my car for thousands of dollars....... a car that's having directionality issues. I'm no mechanic, but I wasn't born yesterday and can type things into google. They claimed that the housings for my strut and shock assemblies were cracked and needed replacing. That's a very specific claim. Anyways I took it to National Automotive down the road and actually got taken care of. It was the sway link bar. No issues with the housing of the strut or shock assemblies. The car drives like a dream now, no thanks to Japanese Auto Pros. Saved a few thousand dollars by not taking their word at face value. The funny thing is I might have trusted them if they treated me with more respect. One of their workers (presumably a manager) told me they don't have time to call my warranty company for me and started playing the world's smallest violin for completely avoidable staffing issues. So as the customer I had to deal with that all myself (whatever, but it's not standard). Long story short, y'all are weird. Also, lose my number and stop spam texting me please.

I honestly had high hopes for this place. I'd seen their work on Instagram, and some friends…read morerecommended them, so I thought I'd be in good hands. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with a mechanic. PROS 1. Affordable prices: Definitely cheaper than a dealership. 2. Strong social media presence: They post videos of their work, which some people might like for transparency. 3. They seem knowledgeable: Based on their work online, they clearly know what they're doing. CONS 1. Terrible communication: I dropped my car off at 11 AM and didn't hear anything until I texted them at 5 PM. No updates, no calls, nothing. 2. Disrespect for your time: If I'd known they wouldn't even start on my car until the evening, I wouldn't have wasted my entire day without it. I live far away and had to arrange rides back and forth. 3. No clear process: After the inspection, I didn't get a proper report, just an Instagram DM listing what was wrong with my car. There was no real explanation or discussion. 4. Unprofessional behavior: When I finally went to pick up my car, the mechanic wasn't even there. I had to wait another hour, and a kid ended up handing me my keys. 5. Ended up costing more: I had to take my car to another mechanic because I couldn't trust them to handle it, so I wasted even more money. I feel so disappointed, not just because of the wasted time, but because I went in really wanting this to work out. There's nothing worse than feeling like your time and money don't matter to someone who's supposed to be providing a service. I read the reviews and noticed this has happened to others too, so it seems like a pattern. The mechanic knows what he's doing, and it's obvious he cares about building his image and growing his business. But they need to work on respecting people's time and communicating better. I personally won't be coming back, but I truly hope they improve, because they have the potential to be so much better.
