I first used Revive Auto Care to replace a control arm on my Infiniti QX60. I found them on Yelp, appreciated their positive reviews, and liked that they communicated over text. That repair went well, so when my AC started blowing hot air, I decided to return. They initially charged me $100 for diagnostics and a refrigerant top-off, then told me I needed a new compressor and quoted approximately $1,200. I dropped the vehicle off on Tuesday. By Wednesday and Thursday, they still had not identified the issue, but they continued replacing parts including the compressor, condenser with receiver drier, premium line kit, secondary rear AC expansion valve, blend door actuator, cabin filter, and recharged the AC system. By Friday, the vehicle was still not repaired, and they ultimately determined that the battery was bad and not providing enough amperage to properly run the AC system. They replaced the battery and told me the issue was fixed, which naturally made me question whether all of the previously replaced parts were actually necessary. The total had also increased to approximately $2,500, and at no point during the process was I contacted for approval on the additional repairs and charges. When I picked up the vehicle Friday evening, the AC was still blowing hot air. In addition, the vehicle was revving abnormally both while driving and while sitting in neutral. It is now Tuesday, and my messages have gone unanswered. On Saturday, I brought the vehicle to Infiniti for another opinion. I was told that the AC system had been overcharged by 1.73 lbs of refrigerant, which they said was causing the issues I experienced after picking the car up. I understand that diagnosing AC problems can be difficult and unexpected issues can happen, but the lack of communication, failure to request approval for major additional repairs, and returning the vehicle in worse condition than when it was dropped off made this a very disappointing experience.

The mechanic said he inspected the car and couldn't find anything wrong except that I needed an oil change and "Honda-specific" spark plugs. He also cleared the dashboard settings, which we found extremely frustrating because that doesn't solve the issue--it just masks it temporarily. At that point, it was already done, and we couldn't reverse it. We went ahead and bought the spark plugs directly from Honda and had them replaced, even though the original ones weren't aftermarket or low quality. Surprise--same issue came back again. Whether it's "higher-end" spark plugs or not, my car continues to have the exact same problems. Honestly, I don't understand why that recommendation was made in the first place. We even spoke to friends who work at dealerships and Honda, and they confirmed that advice was completely inaccurate. The car might be running *slightly* better, but it's like comparing Pepsi to Coke--it's still the same drink. At the end of the day, nothing was truly resolved. At this point, it feels like this is just one of those issues no mechanic seems able to figure out. Disappointing experience all around.
