Wanted to love them. Visited the Berkeley store and found 2 frames I really liked, and purchased/paid for them. I have 2 prescriptions, reading & computer glasses. Left the store happy. The receipt never arrived in my inbox so following online instructions I texted and emailed. No response over a day or so so I called. Can't reach the store, it all goes to a central #, ok annoying but I get it. Customer service rep said there was no record of my purchase. After some research, the rep said the sales clerk entered my email and last name incorrectly (its all done on a nifty tablet, that apparently doesn't work). She also told me they cannot change the email at this point (???) but she would send a confirmation & I could reply with my prescriptions. A workaround for sure, and I waited a few days, no email ever arrived. I called again. Like the first one, this rep was also very nice, & said she would personally follow my order to make sure it is fulfilled. She told me to upload my prescriptions. After that call I was emailed a survey, so now I know they have corrected my email address. Although she was helpful, I did not complete survey. I want to see results and will not respond until I do. I'm not interested in just a friendly chat. I followed her phone instructions to send photos of my prescriptions with the order #s, which she gave me, & a specific request for confirmation, and waited. And waited. Never received an email, receipt, text or call following up. Pathetic! Now I've given up. 1 star for nice looking frames & that they never charged my credit card (though I'm keeping an eye on it). Everything else is a disaster, not to mention they don't even take insurance! Huge waste of time. Don't bother! read more

Found out about Warby Parker from a friend and decided to stop in for a pair of frames. Let me start off by saying, the entire space is beautiful. You are instantly welcomedas soon as you walk in. There are frames on each side of the wall. TheY have a great selection of frames to try on. The opticians are very attentive and cater to whatver style you like. The staff here is amazing. I have visited three different times and each time they have been welcoming and SO helpful it's like shopping with a friend. They are super knowledgeable on the different lenses and frames and if they don't like something on you they suggest something else which is always helpful. Love the atmosphere and location. I just got my first pair of glasses from Warby Parker. Excellent customer service. I couldn't find frames that I liked at my usual place, so I gave WP a try. I wish they had more frames that worked for my small face, but I was able to find one that I really like on me, with a lot of help from the staff. I paid half of what I usually spend at the other place. I need high index, progressives, and I'm very happy with the lenses. I'll definitely go back for another pair in the future. read more

Always loved the glasses I've ordered with Warby Parker! Affordable and stylish! The best thing I love about having a pair is the customer service after a purchase. Got my pair in about a month but after a concert, they fell and got stepped on bending one of the arms back really far. Thinking that they were dead, I left them in a drawer catching dust until I came to this store hoping to bring them back to life. They took only a couple of minutes to fix them bringing back my favorite pair of glasses back where they belong, on my face! read more

I inadvertently took the "Goldilocks" approach to procuring my eyeglasses. The first pair was too big, the second was too small and, the third, you guessed it...just right! Each time I went, which was within my 30 day window of changing my mind, I was greeted with happy, knowledgeable staff members. And, each pair of glasses I did "try out" had perfect placement of the progressive aspect of my prescription and other than one being too big and the other too small, I had absolutely no issue with adapting to the sight viewing through the lenses, I have had issues in the past and I now know that those were more than likely attributed to the optician not getting the progressive starting point correctly. Warby Parker will have my return business. Their prices are reasonable, even for someone with a need for a stronger, progressive prescription, I paid less the half of what I have in the past at a well known chain store lens crafter supplier. Awesome store and FANTASTIC service! It's been almost 5 years since I bought new glasses so I stopped in today just to look at some potential new frames. I have the worst luck finding frames that fit my face so I wasn't really expecting to find anything. I was pleasantly surprised to be warmly greeted at the door and offered assistance immediately. Everyone at the store was super friendly, helpful, and ready to give honest advice. Kristen, in particular, spent a lot of time with me answering all of my questions and finding the perfect frames for me. She set me up with my order and even offered to call my optometrist to get my correct prescription for new glasses to be sent to my home. All for less than a hundred bucks! Amazing. I have worn glasses for over 25 years. My last pair cost $850 at one of those mall stores. They were fine and held up for over 3 years now but it was time for a new pair. Found WP online and orders a few pair to try on at home, bought one pair, took a selfie (very badly) and the pair arrived in 7 days. Unfortunately I couldn't see anything. I held onto them for almost 373 days and finally put myself on my to-do list. I found a W-P storefront in Berkeley. The staff was SOO nice and discovered my pupil placement was off by 3/16" +- the reason why I couldn't see correctly. The store said they could give me a one-time free fix even though I had them for so long (unworn & my bad selfie was the reason). W-P was so nice I ordered 2 additional pair (1 standard & 1 sunnies). All three arrived very quickly and they were PERFECT! It was a whole new world seeing through clear (not scratched, foggy, old) lenses. My lenses cost a little additional $ due to my script but all 3 pair were less expensive than the mall pair. So comfortable, stylish and I love all of them. My husband is soooo happy to not look at my old, scratched & wonky pair anymore. The staff on the phone, online and in the store were very professional, nice and very well trained. I was greeted warmly by Michael who pulled up all our account info, then took me over to (Elizabeth?) who handled the order. She also adjusted both of my frames (sunglasses and regular). Xzavier helped my husband pick out a pair of glasses that look great on him. Sat us down and took prescription information and expertly fit him. Done in under a half hour. Recently I decided I needed new frames and looked around a bit but felt disappointed in what I found in local shops and online. Then I remembered reading ( a few years ago), in a book on social entrepreneurism, about a novel new company that was selling eyeglasses online while supporting a social mission. For every pair they sell, they donate a pair of eyeglasses to people around the world who could not otherwise afford them. I looked for them online and remembered the quirky sounding name because of the story around them naming the business after two characters in a Jack Kerouac novel. At first, I did not realize that they actually had physical stores, and then, later, I discovered they had recently opened one up on 4th Street in Berkeley (among other locations). From browsing online, already knew what I wanted to try on, and it turned out my favorite pair fit me the best when I went to the store. I was even more surprised to learn how affordable the glasses are, even if you order up from the base level for high-index (they offer two high index options). In the store, the sales person made some measurements, I made the order, and then I had the eyeglasses (which they ship free) about a week later. I am really happy with the frames, and even more happy that the experience of buying eyeglasses felt so positive. The price is unbelievably affordable and they donate a pair through a nonprofit partnership to someone who would not otherwise be able to afford eyeglasses. It does not get any better than that. read more
